Christiansborg
Palace
is
set
in
the
very
center
of
CPH.
The
Palace
history
is
very
long
dating
back
as
the
Power
seat
to
12
cent,
when
it
used
to
be
a
simple
Bishop's
Castle.
Over
the
centuries
the
Palace
was
enlarged
and
remodeled
becoming
the
CPH
Castle.
The
Palace
complex
we
see
today
is
the
Third
one.
First
Palace
was
built
in
18
c
adding
two
side
wings
to
the
existing
Castle.
In
19
and
20
c
these
wings
were
enlarged
again
and
today
the
Palace
houses
the
Danish
Parliament,
Prime
Minister
office
and
Royal
Rooms
which
serve
for
Royal
ceremonies,
foreign
Heads
of
States
receptions,
Law
singings,
etc...
There
are
five
parts
to
see
within
the
complex,
and
the
CPH
card
I
strongly
suggest
for
sightseeing
CPH
covers
all
of
them.
These
are:
-
Royal
Stables
with
horses
and
Royal
carriages
(imo
the
most
interesting
part),
-
Royal
Kitchen
(also
interesting
with
ages
kitchenware),
-
Royal
Rooms
(lavish
decorated,
but
seen
many
times
in
many
European
palaces),
-
Ruins
beneath
the
complex
from
the
previous
Palaces
and
-
Royal
Chapel
(open
only
on
certain
days).
Count
on
around
2
hours
for
a
proper
visit
