Hardly an authentic Italian restaurant nor dishes cooked. Fast food restaurant standard. Staff not attentive nor caring. Without proper ventilation inside the restaurant, it’s quite an unpleasant experience dining here with immense heating from the big pizza oven in the open kitchen. Simply too hot throughout the meal.

Excellent customer service. Food came quickly. A lot of option for gluten intolerance. Recommended

Me and my girlfriend ate here recently and both got a 3 course vegetarian meal. The crunchy pasta nibbles, caramelised onion flat bread, rainbow lasagna, lentil ragu and zillionaire slice were all absolutely delicious. I'd go as far as saying it was the tastiest vegetarian/vegan food we've had so far in any restaurant. The manager was also really friendly and helpful and the service was quick and professional. We would definitely eat here again for sure 5/5*.

Great Italian place for pizza and pasta. I was worried if a pizza would actually be enough since it's thin crust and not a ton of toppings, but they're misleading large. The style is to have a smaller amount of toppings, but a higher quality with each bite. What I mean by this is don't expect a uniform pizza, but do expect each bite to have a very good taste. Especially their sun-dried tomatoes, would highly recommend.

Lovely experience. Had a 3 course lunch and all food was cooked well. Service was amazing and loved our waitress - very relaxed. Interior and atmosphere was nice.

Very nice dining experience at Zizzi, Durham…. Friendly service, staff were attentive and the food was especially nice. Would recommend booking, even on a random Tuesday it was busy. Would definitely recommend… their Tiramisu is tremendous 😋

Had a nice meal at the zizzi in Durham. The food was mid but the service and the atmosphere was lovely.

The prices are extortionate and the food quality is appalling. One of our dishes was cold so needed replacing - we needn’t have bothered because even fully heated it was barely edible. The other dish was absolutely swimming in oil to the point I couldn’t finish it. I’d have felt ripped off if I’d paid half of what I did for this food, at £30 plus per person for a basic starter, main and drink I felt like I’d been robbed on leaving. The staff were friendly and the service was good but sadly this is hands down the worst value for money dining experience I’ve ever had.

This Zizzi’s branch is very much in need of a deep clean and some repair works. Upon arrival we noticed that the floors, and even our table and menus were sticky. Later on, a visit to the restrooms proved less than satisfactory with all cubicles in the ladies in a sorry state. We had a friendly server, however, we noted that she was a lot more thorough and attentive with the nearby table, taking more time to explain things on the menu to them. On a positive note, the food was good and the restaurant were well prepared in receiving children dining there, they supplied coloured crayons, paper, high chairs and have a decent kids menu.

Brought a group of twenty and with a reservation we were able to be seated all together. Many people loved their dishes. I had the calzone carne piccante and it was pretty good. Service was okay. Was not waited on very well, but the food came out quick. Overall, I am satisfied with this dining experience.

I had a lovely main meal here, followed by a gorgeous calzone dessert. The staff were really pleasant, and the restaurant is situated in a lovely area of Durham centre. It wasn't my first time here, and it won't be my last.

Worst place to go. Went there ordered one starter and one pizza (my partner explicitly said one pizza to share) the waitress then reiterated asking if it was two pizzas and he said just one to share. Starter was alright but pizza came and she brought us two. He ended up telling that we only ordered one and the other waiter came and took away the pizza. When the bill came the waitress rudely put the bill in-front of us and said we ordered two pizza and that they wanted us to pay for two pizzas despite us only having one. The pizza we shared had a little ant crawling and the toilets had mould on the ventilation ports. Not a place we would go again, rude staff, frozen pizza and not cordial at all.

The brownie has been THE MOST AMAZING brownie I have ever had. With caramel and shaven white chocolate.. It was to die for. Waitress was great, food was awesome, wife a bit grumpy but the kids were happy so 9 out of 10!!

Generally good, however there was only 1 guy serving the whole of the downstairs and was run off his feet When we asked him why he was on his own he said there would normally have been 4 people on that shift however staffing issues had left him on his own. Which had led to mistakes being made, he dad dropped a bottle of wine close to some customers they had to get moved. He kept forgetting some of our drinks orders so it lead to some of our group not having a drink for a while. But we understood the position he was in. We tipped him anyway x

Booked midweek 730pm and it was fairly quiet. Food was extremely good, we ate from the 3 course menu and had plenty of choice. £48 for 2 x 3 courses. Unfortunately that's where the positives end. The restaurant was freezing cold, we didn't take our hats and coats off, the toilets were the warmest place! We were unfortunate to be sat on the table right next to a till point, which also contained a bin. It was very off putting eating food whilst staff were shovelling floor sweepings into the bin right beside us. Still on the subject of bins, just before 9pm staff began emptying the food and bottle bins next to our table which isn't acceptable , this is something that should be done once customers have left, or at the very least wait until people have finished eating. Based on this experience sadly I wouldn't return to the Durham venue.

Tasty food in a lovely setting. Booked online and went for lunch. Can watch food being made in the open kitchen. Staff friendly and helpful. Pizzas delicious, will definitely return

The waitress dropped half of the toppings on my bruschetta on the floor before it got to the table, and when i pointed this out intead of having a new plate brought out as would be normal, she just picked up the mess without saying another word. There is also a large decoration made from a large tree branch between tables, and there is so much dust on it that when someone bumped it a giant clump of dust fell on the table in front of us. It's definitely not somewhere i would return to. The food is okay, but the cleanliness and the service leaves much to be desired.

Food was tasty, but my pizza was sparsely covered and so wasn't great value at over £15. Heating was broken so had to eat dinner in coats, which wasn't ideal either really. If we'd been notified we could have dressed appropriately, but this didn't happen. Good service, speedy food preparation, but was spoiled by the temperature and the lack of toppings.

Really enjoyed the food but pleased we had Tesco vouchers. I had a few beers but everyone else had water and total bill was fine but only with the vouchers.

I absolutely reccomend the Lasaaaaaange! It's absolutely a certified sizzling hot banger and I have been unleashed in restaurant try outs ever since. Zizzi awakened a passion for restaurants I never knew was there. I've already went to two other restaurants and they also didn't disappoint.

Sat by air conditioning, it was so cold. Complained as did other diners.told it was broken. Lasagna was cold after a few minutes sitting under it. Saw staff actually touch and pick at calzone that was on the pass, after service was called 3 times. So much so that other staff in coats how looked like they came for a stock take, also called service. The girl waitress how served us, we couldn't fault. She was the best of the experience.

A great Italian style restaurant with a wide open plan, with views of the kitchen from the upstairs so you can see what's being made. The toilets are downstairs, to which is another large seated area with a mini bar to get drinks from should you require them. The food was delicious and came piping hot and promptly. The only reason it gets a 4 star instead of a 5 is that, there were old cobwebs in view of the window, and some of the lampshades on the mood lighting where lopsided and looks generally untidy, there were multiple light bulbs out on the mood lighting which is noticeable when people watching whilst you're waiting for food.
