Prawn and sea food lovers will love this place . They have different prawn dish , crab , shell , pork , beef , chicken and few veggies items . I just loved it . Very satisfied buffet . My friends enjoyed all chicken dishes and dessert . Especially jelly My favourite was rib, prawn and crab 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 Sitting in the toilet lounge was funny .. Evrything was clean and sanitised well . Customers are wearing mask while taking the food . Buffet cost 14£ pp

Went there for mother in laws birthday 15 if us. Kids included. Price is great for city centre dining. Table service for drinks or you can go to the bar. Food is regularly replenished. And is really tasty. Even with fussy kids. They had some English food items for the kids who didn't want to try. And a nice small size dessert menu. All self service. Plates are clean and utensils are clean. And as a fussy eater my self I really enjoyed the food. The chicken was melt in the mouth. And I enjoyed trying the noddles dishes.

The buffet is worth it! Loads different Chinese food and fried food. Overall the food is amazing. We started with some sweet corn soup and hot sour soup before stuffing our stomach with carbs and protein. Finished the meal with vanilla and chocolate ice cream 🍦 ❤️❤️❤️ However I wish the ribs will be much more tender and more choices of fresh fruits 😊 They do have student discount. So don’t forget to bring your IDs 😉

Its been a while since I've visited this establishment, foods still very tasty! The price is alot higher but that's inflation and the place to inflate your size! judging from my fellow diners, is here.

This was the first time we have been and will definitely be calling again. The staff were very friendly and helpful and couldn't fault the service. Buffet was brilliant with a wide choice of starters, mains, and desserts, with a good choice of drinks as well . Very clean and tidy with a nice view of the river. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Would of give a zero star if I had the choice , literally the worse buffet restaurant I’ve ever been . Food has no taste, lunch menu are very poor, not much choice of food , barely any dessert , no sauce provided ,me and the kids left after the first plate of food because we all felt a little sick , £36 , not worth it . Pity the place is in such a good location , wasted the space .

We went here for the lunch buffet on a Sunday. On Sundays as well as the usual buffet select they also include traditional Sunday lunch items like Yorkshire pudding, beef, chicken, veg and gravy. Overall the staff were friendly and the items we had were tasty. Good for the price.

A very small selection during lunchtime service, mostly pork and chicken. Most food was fried, but there were a few good choices, ie, sweet and sour pork, the Noodles and the Nutella stuffed donuts, which were incredible! No seafood at all, but still good value

Very nice food and the staff are super helpful. My son stood staring at the fish tank for around five minutes. The Buffet has a really good view of the river.

We ate there today. Prices are in line with similar places, it just feels like everywhere is more expensive these days. We went at lunch time which was quiet and had a smaller selection. We found there to be enough variety, the food was piping hot, constantly checked by staff and very tasty. Amazing views . If you have trouble with going up and down steps it may be better to park near the swimming pool, cross the bridge and walk along. Will return at some point.

Wasn’t many options especially for the deserts bit into the chicken it was pink inside which means it was still raw the services was rude and not worth £26 pound definitely won’t go again.

The ambience was amazing, with a great variety of Chinese food. It's an all you can eat place However, they will charge you if you waste food, which is fair. The taste was impeccable!! Friendly service. I would highly recommend this place. It just costs like £15-19 per head, except for the drinks, depending on what day and time you go. PS: for all the jelly lovers, it also serves jelly in their dessert!

It's a buffet... Nice food especially for the money 4* as its great food for the price. All hot all tasty. Service well the majority is self service. However plated were leave fast drinks were fast but after initially sitting down we went asked if we wanted another drink. 4* would be a 5* if my drink was topped up. But buffets make money on volume of people. Too many people for me but considering the nature of the buffet this is what I'd expect. 3* Well worth a visit I never give buffet 5* so this score is the best they would get so well done..

Place is alright for a visit, food can vary depending on tastes and quailty at the time, as for visiting, it's not too bad of a place, however, reason for 4 stars is down to the location, many people who are looking for the place do not realise it's right next to the river. Hopefully one day Durham can make it easier for accessing the river area, overall though, its worth a visit, do not be upset when they have ran out of certain foods, staff are excellent with service and restocking.

First time back in since COVID and I was really happy with the food and the service. The wine I had was lovely. Will definitely be returning. Staff are so lovely. Monday at three o clock is very quiet.

Was treated by my oldest daughter to a mother's day n birthday lunch at Inshanghai. Upon arriving, we were met by a friendly and welcoming member of staff, who showed us to our table. The atmosphere was relaxed, low lighting which we prefer, chilled out music, and comfortable sofa. Once seated, we ordered drinks from the drinks menu, and then proceeded to the all you can eat lunch buffet. The food was steaming hot and of good quality. Some are not to my liking. And some of the rice n veg was made up from using what looked like frozen veg packs, I understand this is probably for quickness. The prawn crackers were beautiful, light in texture, and melted on the tongue." Seaweed" was also lovely. There was also these small chicken in a seasoned batter, which were also melt in your mouth tasty. The chips and chicken nuggets looked horrible(on a later date, my partner tried some, and found them to be just that) All in all, the lunch buffet was great. We came back another day for the grand buffet, which had a more extensive range of food, some being the same as the lunch menu. Again, all the food was lovely, banana fritters could do with being crisper batter. But in all the staff, atmosphere was relaxed, although the grand buffet was very busy, but relaxed.

Excellent! We've moved out of the area but used to visit often. It was worth the journey back. The staff are great and the food is brilliant. Value for money.

Brought here by a friend who lives in Durham - great selection of food, lots of staff who are all very nice and helpful, and not bad on the prices! There's something for everyone (less selection for V/VE though). By far the best Chinese food I've had in the UK, and amazing cocktails as well. Highly recommend

I went with some family members and as there were so many of us, we booked a table in advance. It was very busy so it's a good idea when you need a bigger table. Range of food was brilliant and all was piping hot and tasty. We went on a Sunday so there was a choice of Chinese food and Sunday roasts. I couldn't fault it. Service was great and staff helpful. So would happily recommend.

Great selection of food available, with something for everyone. Good value for money too. The staff were friendly & attentive. However, in view of the number of children serving themselves at the buffet, without parental supervision, I would have been happier if some of the Covid/hygiene restrictions had still been in place!

Always a great experience coming for the all you can eat, I've been many a time and everytime without fail the food is so flavourful and I cant stop thinking about their sweet and sour chicken, It's amazing!! I honestly can't think of a fault for this place if you've not been before, You should! Highly highly recommended, great job team Inshanghai!!

Excellent meal at lunchtime and very fresh given a buffet service. The extraction was very good also so didn't come out smelling like sweet and sour !!! Excellent service I WILL be back. Durham is a fantastic place to visit this time of the year with plenty of culture, great river walk, eating and drinking places.

Still a decent all you can eat Chinese buffet. We went around 2.00pm and it was quite busy. Masks still a must. Looking a bit dated and scruffy inside but food is still good, hot and tasty. Overall 4 🌟

Servers were really friendly, nice and attentive. The buffet was always stocked up. Great price too! Only downside is that the food wasn't amazing... don't get me wrong, bits were super nice but obviously it's a buffet so expect quantity over quality
