    Management and staff at MEC Langley are amazing! The level of customer service I experienced was truly a pleasure. Simarjit & Joy listened to my concerns carefully and resolved everything to my satisfaction. I've been an MEC member since way back in the Stone Age when it was a co-op and though my experience has generally been positive, Simarjit and the MEC Langley crew take it to the next level! If you're looking for a wide selection of quality gear for all your self propelled outdoor pursuits and fantastic staff be sure you check out MEC Langley. They rock!

    I’ve had the pleasure of being assisted by Simarjit at both the Vancouver and Langley MEC stores now, and both times he’s offered excellent customer service and been able to help me and my family with what we’ve been looking for!     I am very impressed with this MEC location, primarily because of the people that work there! In addition to providing solid advice, the following people have always taken the time, and made me feel welcome: Simarjit (Manager) - very thorough, and accommodating! Andrew, Steve and Raphael (Bike Shop) - they know everything about bikes, and take the time to break things down in an easy to understand way. They are completely honest, and will recommend only what you need. Also, Andrew is very detail orientated when doing bike fits. I highly recommend you shop at this location!

    BIKE REPAIR SHOP - Quick, friendly, great prices! Had a tube repair completed in 30 mins. Cheaper than all the shops in the area. The tall South African guy was super friendly and very helpful. I’ll return.

    Great store with everything needed for outdoor living. Plenty of helpful staff around. Unfortunately at the time we went many of the hiking supplies we went for were all our of stock.

    I had my E bike repaired by Andrew who did a fantastic job! He cleverly repaired my cassette and installed a new chain And even noticed one of my spokes was broken. He quickly fixed it while I was waiting and did a great job of explaining everything to me. Way better service than the ebike store I bought the bike from!! Highly recommended

    Went to this location before the Whistler fondo to fix/change my disc brake and get O-ring for my rear light, Andrew was very kind and helpful. Definitely went above and beyond to help me. seemed very passionate about helping customers, especially cyclists

    Lots of outdoors clothing and gear, but the prices, even on discounted items, seems unjustifiably high. Looked at buying a headlamp that MEC had discounted and ended up picking up the exact same model at the Langley Atmosphere for about 25% less. The store has lots of inventory, but it seems a little disorganized, with lots of vertical organization — as if they're trying to cram as much saleable goods per square foot as possible. Couldn't find gear that felt like it would be a good use of my gift card. Same logo, but definitely something has changed since it became a company.

    I ordered a down jacket (MEC APEX St Elias Expedition) at clearance price from MEC online, but they didn't fulfill the order even though the jacket was available in many stores when I did my order. My brother bought the last large clearance jacket in the Vancouver store. There were 2 jackets available in the North Vancouver store but the staff told me to just order online to save me from driving to North Vancouver. I waited 10 days and the order wasn't processing so I phoned and they said still trying to fulfill the order. I waited 15 days and decided I will try to locate a jacket myself. I found one jacket in the Quebec store. I phoned the MEC BC warehouse and told them I located a jacket. They said great we will now send the jacket from Quebec, WHICH I HAD TO FIND MYSELF. However, they still have not processed the order, no confirmation email, no money taken from my account, nothing. It has been 19 days and waiting. Horrible customer service. I do not know what their problem was, I was very polite on myside at all times, I was never rude. MEC just isn't concerned about fulfilling my order, again terrible customer service.

    I recently had the pleasure of interacting with one of your salesmen at the Langley MEC store, and I wanted to share my positive experience. The salesman's name is Simar (I think that's what everyone was calling him), and I was thoroughly impressed with his professionalism, knowledge, and customer service skills. Simar's ability to communicate in Punjabi was a significant advantage for my dad, as it created a comfortable and personalized shopping experience. He not only assisted my dad in finding the right products but also went above and beyond by offering valuable recommendations. The fact that my dad recommends MEC Langley to his friends speaks volumes about the exceptional service the store provides.

    The quality of everything was great. They had their own brand shorts on for sale 25% off with a sale tag on. They were tagged at 69.99, I looked under the tag to see the original price and to my horror it was 49.99. They put a tag on making it $20 higher prior to making it 25% off “on sale” I asked the employee and his reply was “yeah, they do that sometimes” So shady. Makes me not want to buy anything there based off that.

    I have shopped here several times and it has always been a positive experience. They often have sales which are always worth checking out. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, particularly in the boots and shoes department. There is a good selection of gear and brands here as well. It has always been easy to return items and I've never had any issues with that.

    Had a defective stove that was leaking gas. Had no receipt but they were able to find my purchase, do the swap with a brand new stove and absolutely no drama. Despite the changes with MEC, I’m still a loyal customer for many reasons, including this one.

    I regularly shop at the Langley store as a member of MEC. However, my recent experience has been quite unsettling. There is an older male staff member who consistently walks around and stares at me without offering any greetings or inquiring about my needs. This behavior has made me feel extremely uncomfortable and I have no desire to shop here again. Contrastingly, I recently visited the REI store in Bellingham, US, where I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff there were incredibly friendly, always extending their greetings and offering assistance. In comparison to that, the customer service at the Langley MEC has been highly disappointing.

    I haven't been to MEC is a long long time. But wow. Service was awesome. I was quite surprised how helpful and happy the staff seemed. Plus prices are not to bad. Even better with sales. Only problem i have is when you search something out on the website its often out of stock in the actual store when the site says they have it. Yes, I will be going back to shop again.

    Being a MEC member for many many years I in the recent past have avoided MEC for my outdoor needs, but.... I have now reassessed my opinion. The staff are usually friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, but in the past MEC was usually out of stock of the items I was looking for. I am happy to say that looks like it may have changed. On my recent visit did they not only have a good selection, but they also had actual good sale prices. I will definitely be going back

    I am very satisfied with this location's bike repair shop service. The bike shop staff and service technician here are kind, timely, personable. They provided some helpful tips and provided some value added services. My bike was not just repaired properly in a short amount of time but looking great! Thank you so much!

    First time visit at this store, the staff is super friendly, the service is pretty awesome and they have a wide range of quality mountain and winter gear. Glad I found some good pair of winter boots and socks at a great price! 5 stars for the entire team.

    I just finished shopping at this MEC location. I generally go to the other locations. This is my second visit to the Langley one. Both times, I found customer service at this location is far better. Today, I was helped by Jean and his service was stellar! He went out of the way to help that I needed. He became even more helpful when he found out that I’m going to Edmonton in February where he is from. As I was looking specific items I needed for photo shooting, he even got more information from computer. I liked he is not pretentious but let’s “find out” attitude! I also noticed how other staffs are helping each other. I’ll try to come out to this location more often.

    I used to really like MEC but over this past year of purchasing there it just seems very sub par...service is hit or miss. Sometimes you get a wonderful helpful, knowledgeable person. Apparently when you check to see if a product is in stock at a specific store, it will say that it is but that may not actually be the case...not sure why...all I was told is that ya that happens and was quickly dismissed. Also, why such an increase of MEC branded stuff??? And I've also noticed that they seem to be quite disorganized and confused as well...maybe just stick to the smaller locally owned stores for purchasing adventure gear....

    MEC is now owned by an American private investment firm. It is not what it used to be. The "Rock Solid Guarantee" was cited by the manager I spoke with to protect MEC, not me (the customer), their refund policy has restrictions that you are expected to look up on your own online (not printed on the back of the receipt), and there is no consumer protection in BC. I will stock camping and backpacking supplies from Canadian Tire (which has a better refund policy) or elsewhere online.

    This MEC location doesn't have the same feel as others I have visited. Feels more like a Sport Chek or Atmosphere than a proper MEC store. Service was not as good as other MEC locations either. I was in the store about 30 minutes, no staff talked to me other than the cashier. I hope this isn't the direction we see all MEC locations go, they are losing the appeal they once had, and I'm losing my motivation to shop there.

    Fantastic experience with their bike shop. I highly recommend their tune-up and overhaul services. My bike is eight years old with thousands of kms and looks and rides good as new.

    Had both positive and negative experience. The positive experience. The store has a good selection of outdoor and casual items which are of great quality. The guy named Leo did a terrific job finding an item based on my description of my needs, and was quite knowledgeable in details. The negative experience. The price tag on display was awfully misleading. The item I was looking at had a tag on display saying it has a discount (like, a ~$50 discount from ~$220 to ~$170). However, on checkout I found out that the item did not have a discount. I have double-checked the price tag on display, and it had a small remark at the bottom that the discount was valid until Oct 19 (I was buying on Oct 28). So I would consider this to be a deliberate misinformation, because I don't believe it takes more than a week to remove outdated price tag discount. I have bought the item anyway, because I liked it, and it was what I was looking for. But I don't like being lied to. Formally, the store didn't lie as they had this remark at the bottom of the price tag. But in fact, if there is a discount tag, the one doesn't really take time to examine it further. This has left me with a really negative impression and a suspicion of shady marketing practice.

    Better products, better selection... staff the same... super good to deal with and very friendly. On repeat visit I see a better selection in the small store=more hands on to check it out. Did I mention the staff are great to deal with!

    Went to the store today. The store was pretty empty. The section where very messy and disorganized. I got ask at least 10x if I needed help by numerous people even by the same person. I found some items in the for sale section that I liked with no price two of the same pieces different sizes. I asked for price check which ended up the item was not on sale but when I ask them to lead me to the item on the store so I could see if there are different colours they had no idea where it was and told me „ I’m sorry the store is a mess“ feeling very disappointed about what that store has become.

    This MEC is great. My #1 go-to for hiking & climbing gear because they always have what I’m looking for & the staff is always so knowledgeable & friendly. Came in recently for a large climbing haul and Amanda was amazing & hooked us up with everything we needed.

    Civud19 protocols were in place. Shopped for bicycle gloves last week of December. Selection was not very robust for sizes and brands. However, I did find a pair. Looked for caliper brake pads, threaded, selection was very poor. Customer service was excellent.

    I stopped in to check out some parts for my bike. I found sale items cheaper then buying used prices. Steve in bike service was kind enough to get me going while I waited. What began as just browsing for parts ended up with a service and some good deals for new items. They also have a place in the store where you can buy return or exchanged goods at a generous discount. Good products and friendly staff.

    With COVID-19 pandemic still amongst us, I called ahead a few minutes prior to my arrival to arrange a curbside pickup of a single item at the Langley, BC MEC store. The staff person that answered seemed to annoyed that I wanted curbside pickup option that was stated on their website. She (I didn't get her name) said that the store was empty and suggested that I could come inside the store since noone was inside. I arrived 3 minutes later and decided to walk into the store. I counted about a dozen customers (no name tags or other identifiable attire) that were shopping. The first thought that came to mind was did the woman I spoke to realize that their were many customers in the store. It is highly unlikely that a dozen customers showed up between the 3 minutes that transpired between my call and entering the MEC store. I think that staff should be fully aware of the number of customers in the store if they make claims that it is empty with no customers. I found this a little bit annoying and misleading. Side Note: We had ordered an item online and thought we would receive it sooner if we requested the item get delivered to a local store rather than going directly to our house. Then to my surprise a different young lady (don't know her name) greeted me at the doorway and was very pleasant to deal with. She should be promoted IMHO. She caught me off-guard with her positive and helpful demeanor as I was processing what seemed to be a blatant lie by the other staff person I spoke with on the phone. Anyway, she located my online ordered item within about 2 minutes. I cannot say much more about the pleasant experience I had with her other than giving this review 5 stars. You know I shop at a lot of different places and I have to say that good customer service is hard to find these days and is not what it used to be. I do not know if it is learned or inherent skill but this young lady made me feel important and valued even though I just was looking to retrieve one item. It was a refreshing experience. Thank you for brightening up my day to whoever you are!

    Well first and foremost it was clean.. and another important thing is social distancing which at the very start was taken care of. . Cause right of the bat they had a security and an employee to make sure it wasn't getting crowded in there which is the main thing. Lots of Parking and close to other amenities. A washroom would be made it perfect . But I ain't complaining lol. Keep up the good work.

    The friendly and very knowledgeable staff make for a pleasant shopping experience here. Being next to the Willowbrook Mall will help with the parking situation. The products MEC carries is often of good quality, and the warranty and return policy is quite good. The online shopping experience is a breeze and you can even get outdoor activity products transferred to the closest location to you for secure and convenient pickup.

    Always a great place for high quality clothing and bicycle parts and tools. Staff is friendly and courteous and the returns procedure is top-notch. Too bad this place got sold to an American company so I do fear that some aspects of this business will be compromised. Until that day, I will continue to shop here.

    MEC Staff are super friendly - Came in today looking for a cassette lockring tool, an employee (didn't catch his name) at the bike tool area immediately helped me find it. I was also looking for some spacers (typically not carried in shops) and he was able to find exactly what I needed in the back quickly. The people here know their bikes.

    The whole process with covid 19 in the Langley MEC is streamlined. Two staff outside, no mask no problem they quickly get you one and into the store I went. Picked up what I needed and I was out the door in under 10 minutes.

    Variable service, as with all MECs and other outdoor stores. Have had knowledgeable staff with solid customer service skills who helped me find some needed gear - right on and thank you! Also have the ever-present inflated-ego gearhead dudes who enjoying bombing with irreverent information (most recently when buying the hubby a new sleeping bag). Walk around and you can hear the mansplaining continually, an exhausting part of the MEC/outdoors store experience, particularly in BC. If you have little to no experience with the gear, then go into the store for some guidance but be warned some staff want to tell you more about what they know and do than listen to your needs (so watch a bit and pick one of the gooders). If you are familiar, though, I find it’s best to most often buy online (use the MEC app) and just go to the store if you need to try it or see the product, though you can’t open most products now due to necessary Covid protocols.

    I was shopping for hiking boots and found a great pair at MEC. The staff was very knowledgeable and very helpful as well as patient with me trying on several pairs and finding a few defective boots which was very strange but obviously a defect in the seams and bunching of the fabric inside the shoe. The staff checked other pairs and found a few more before one perfect pair was found. They were kind and patient with me. They always have a great selection of all sorts of gear, clothing and footwear. Great place to shop for outdoor needs.

    This is my first time visiting MEC. The staff here is really nice! A young man helped me pick my first hiking boots and kindly provided me many advice. The store was nearly closing but this young man was still very patient and brought many kinds of boots and sizes for me to try on. I forgot to ask his name but Thank You for your help. They care about helping customers get what they really needs instead of selling more products. Highly recommend this place.
