Sad to have even given this place a single star.. After checking in, we headed to our room to find the key slot beaten & smashed.. took 5 minutes to get card in & open the door. We were greeted with a frigid breeze, musty-mildew urine smell, busted lamp shades, broken heater unit, blood stained sheets and an all around dirty room. We turned right back around and exited the room in less than 2 minutes. After demanding a refund and told we were granted so, I have yet to see the $150 posted back into my account. Contacted & spoke with the manager, Raj, multiple times and even went as far as speaking with corporate customer care as well- no one was willing to help. I took the signed receipt (by front desk employee stating the amount was refunded) to my bank and had to file a despute. After leaving to stay a few miles away at a different hotel, was told homeless people vacate Super 8.. We stayed at Red Roof Inn for $30 cheaper, and had a wonderful experience. Freshly remodeled & clean room, extremely friendly staff, and close to campus. We will never stay at ANY Super 8 chain again.

I'm not sure what people are complaining about. My fiance and I stayed here in room 220. It was so comfortable. King sized bed. Clean. Did not smell bad. You get what you pay for which is a really great price. I highly recommend I only give 4 star because it did not come with a shampoo or conditioner but that's my only complaint. But the bed was so comfortable oh my gosh.

New room, very nice. Nice friendly staff. New doors with new lock are comforting to see. Being re modeled, so excuse the mess. Next to the road, but with Air/Heat on it will drown it out. Perfect for one night stay if you just need a bed. Near MSU so it's Heaven anyway.....

the hotel was very outdated the tub was peeling the shower was coming off the wall, its smelt like cigarettes. the first room we were suppose to go in was not ready and dirty the second room we went in had a very bad smell there was cigarette holes in my cover and holes in the cloth at the bottom of the bed. the lock on the door was broken. we checked out as quick as we checked in and asked for a refund. we were told only managers can give refunds and were trying to get in touch with with the manager for three days and still havent got in contact with him. we called a number we thought was corporate, which was not and she didnt know what to do and told us to contact headquarters who does not have a number and we can only send an email or have a chat.

I’ve stayed at nicer places in third world countries for 1/5th the price. This place is under construction and hopefully will be a nice place to stay once the renovations are complete, but they’re not set up to run a hotel at the moment. The balcony in the pic was pitch black at night and filled with workers who were alll packed into the room next door to mine. There is construction debris everywhere and there are nails all over the parking lot. Only one outlet worked in the room and the bathroom was extremely dirty from decades of use and lack of upkeep.

We checked in, paid for the room, and upon opening the door to the room, I knew we would not be staying. Not only was the curtain hanging broken from the rod, The room was filthy. The bed was dirty, there was dirty plasticware on the floor, and it had obviously not been cleaned. It has been two weeks and I’m still waiting for a refund. I was told today that the general manager is in meetings all day and probably won’t be calling. Avoid at all costs!

Stayed here last Saturday (9/9/17) after a Spartan football game. We wouldn't have stayed had we been safe to drive. The hotel is just a dump. From the outside it looks like it's been closed a long time. The carpet is filthy with lots of holes. The shower surround and tub have black spots all over. The sheets were clean as far as I could tell. Staying was a last minute idea but wouldn't have used the shower even if I had brought stuff. The staff was pleasant. Wouldn't stay again though.

The outside of the hotel was pretty shady looking, I was very unsure about staying here. When we went inside to check out a room, there was only one staff member, and he was very busy answering phones and attempting to check out other guests. The room was nice, but lamps/alarms were not plugged in and had trip hazards because the plug for them was across the room. Overall it was a decent evening. Checkout was easy and took barely any time.

We were never told the hotel was under construction till we showed up. Our room had the smoke detector removed which is a safety violation. The bed spread had a hole in it probably from a cigarette. There was black stuff in the tub so neither of us wanted to shower. The construction started before 9am on the weekend and woke us up. There was a lift right outside our building and whatever they were doing shook our room. Honestly while the people who checked us in were nice they probably shouldn’t be open right now.

I would rate this motel as poor. Maybe 2 stars. Exterior was dirty , including all of the windows and in need of repair. Inside the room was old and very basic. We had a plastic mattress cover and scratchy older bedding. Surprisingly though I slept well. There were no toiletries offered except soap and 1little shampoo. Small coffee maker but no coffee offered. No Kleenex. We had to ask for clean towels and toilet paper daily. I don't think they ever vacuumed. Breakfast included consisted of 2 kinds of cereal, bananas, coffee and juice and packaged processed cinnamon rolls. Unfortunately this is the only motel nearest campus but I don't think I would stay here again.

First of all this place is so dated. Everything looks like the 70's. After having trouble opening the door that only reads the key if you insert it really quickly, the room smelled like there had been no ventilation in the room and there wasn't.The shower drained extremely slow creating a bath instead of shower which had mold in it. Staff on duty was nice and the motel was clean and helpful. The motel needs to be updated and held to a higher standard. Aa far as price they should be charging $25 a night. The Super8 in South Lansing is waaaayyy better but rooms are smaller.

Decided last minute to come up the night before the Michigan State 4-H Horse show, and this was one of the cheaper, available options. Absolute worst idea- sleeping in the horse trailer would have been better. When my mom and I arrived, the room was freezing, so we turned on the heat and instantly it smelled of burning dust and pee. The TV turned on and off randomly, lights flickered. The carpet was sticky, my socks clung to it like velcro. There were no fitted sheets on the bed. The bathroom door was bent and almost impossible to shut. I'm glad I showered before, because there was no way I was going to even attempt to shower in the tub. I ended up using my t-shirt from the day to cover the pillow they provided, and used my own blanket. My father's room next door was no better. I've stayed in many hotels/motels, and this was the worst. I wish I had read the reviews before we booked.
