I liked this place a lot, a good half day trip also for small children. The walk is short (without the upper trail which is optional) and I believe it can be easily done even with a baby stroller. Also, the location is mostly shaded and the water are cold. Tips: bring a spray against mosquitos (especially for the upper trail), wear your bathing suit (you can change there but the water part starts early), buy some food to go at the entrance since inside there is only a restaurant and no snacks. Details: We came on Friday and there were hardly any people there. The ticket costs 25k for a person (also children). A free electric car takes you to the entrance into the nature area through the village with multiple food selling stalls all over the place. In the nature reserve you first pass through the bear sanctuary which is nice but you hardly can see the bears. A few meters after passing the sanctuary you already get to the first waterfall in which you can swim. After going through a few waterfalls you have a nice restaurant in which you can get lunch and from there you continue to the final, largest waterfall. From this point you can come back by a short asphalt road to the nature reserve entrance or you can go to the upper area of the waterfall which requires some going up all the high of the waterfall in the jungle and back on slippery stairs, this is a round trip that returns you to the other side of the big waterfall. The upper (optional) area has a nice area of water and a view point to the source of the waterfall and an option to take a "boat" ride to the source of the stream for a small additional change. From the entrance to the nature reserve the same electric cars would take you back to the ticket office area.

The waterfall is really nice and would desert 5 stars if not for the horde of tourists. Very well marketed place with thousands of stall selling food and souvenir. Might consider not going up to the top of the waterfall as it is quite a steep and tiring climb but the scene is so so only. You can also take a raft ride at the top and swim there. Cost is 25,000 for foreigner and the buggy ride is included.

Recommended: ✅ Come early! They open at 8am, so try to get here at 8 or 9am for best photos and swim in pools without tourists. By 10 or 11am it will be very crowded. ✅ Do swim in the water! Bring your swimming stuff and don't be afraid that the water might be a little cold. The water is very clean and refreshing, you can even go under the small waterfall. ✅ Plan to spend more time there (maybe at least 3 hours)! We hired a car+driver from our hotel which was 4-hour/700000kip: 1 hour from LPB to the falls, 1 hour back and 2 hours in the park, it really wasn't enough time! As the park is big and you would want to spend a good half an hour swimming there for sure!

One of the best waterfalls I've ever seen with my bare eyes. It looks like it's a fake movie set or something. Swimmable pools a bit further down from the main waterfall. A cool little trek up behind the main waterfall if you are up for it! There's steps to the left side and a rocky slippery unpaved route to the right side, just be careful! This is a must see while in the area.

This waterfall was very beautiful. The water was very clear and cool. This place was still fresh and perfect for its nature. The atmosphere was nice. I recommended to visit in the morning. You had to buy a ticket for entering to waterfall.

Still an amazing place. The main waterfall is breathtaking. Worth a visit in the early morning before the crowd. Later will be way too busy for my taste. You can eat on site if you are hungry with a nice view next to the waterfall.

Beautiful waterfall with swimming lagoon pools at the very bottom. Not too cold and definitely worth swimming around to cool off after hiking up and circling the upper falls and pools. Watch your step as the trails are super slippery. Probably don’t do the upper hike if has recently rained.

Insanely beautiful waterfalls! Find hiking trails all around. Swimming spots up the left side and at the top of the big falls. Fairly busy by mid day and would’ve been nice to be earlier but you can’t take away these views and nature!

Kuang Si Waterfall exceeded all my expectations! It's a true natural gem with cascading layers of waterfalls that seem to stretch on forever. The water is a stunning, crystal-clear turquoise, inviting you to dip in wherever possible. While you can jump, swim, or just get your hands wet, simply admiring the beauty of this place is reward enough. A short 10-15 minute walk will bring you to the main waterfall – a breathtaking sight! There's even a restaurant near the falls, perfect for a break with a view. Helpful Tips: You'll need to take a free electric buggy from the parking lot to reach the main waterfall area. Don't miss the bear rescue center on your way to the falls! Get yourself some water rock proof shoes if you would like to dip your toes or swimsuit if you want to go in the water If you're coming from Luang Prabang, keep an eye out for delightful cafes nestled amongst the rice paddies – the views are incredible!

Breathtaking waterfalls which look unreal. A good place for picnics with a nice bath in clean water. There is also a hiking trail to see the origin of the main waterfall. There are also some bears who are protected in an open and safe area.

This might have been my favourite waterfall in Laos. Parking our scooter was 2K and the entrance fee was 25K per foreigner. After we paid, we took the free shuttle to the waterfall (option to walk). The pathway to the main waterfall is beautiful. You get to see some bears and mini waterfalls. You can also swim in some of the lower pools. We also did the mini hiking trail. There are warning signs that say it's slippery and it definitely is slick. I did the hike in plastic flip flops (0/10 would recommend) and ended up doing the descent barefoot. But what's cool is that we saw a Pope's pit viper on the hike! It was hidden in the tree leaves, just above our heads. In total, the hike took us around 30 minutes. For being a main tourist attraction, it surprisingly didn't feel that way (went on a Tuesday afternoon). Sure it was busy, but not so busy that you feel suffocated. Also, the way they've fenced off a lot of the waterfalls makes it easy to take pictures without flocks of people in your shot.

Very nice waterfalls where you can also swim in some of the pools. There's also a nice little hiking trail to the top of the waterfall. The entrance fee (25000kip) includes a ride to and from the park entrance by electric car plus there is also a bear sanctuary that can be visited where we saw at least 4 bears hanging out. The place does get very busy but somehow we were still able to avoid the crowds and find some quiet or almost private places to chill.

Get there early and have the place to yourselves.. Opens at 8am, we got there at 7:45am and they let us in, 25,000kip per person. The climb above the Falls is very slippery, with a lot of the handrails missing but worth the effort. They are constructing steel stairways, which will make it even better. A very nice visit.

It was amazing , very well organized . All the people we met were very welcoming , you can swim in different mini lake that are amazing , if you are courageous you can climb up to the waterfall and have a wonderful trek . When you are up there you can even go to see the waterfall source in a little bamboo boat, the boat driver even offer us to share his meal( for free ) ❤️. Only little bad point is that people throw away their plastic bottle everywhere ( different culture I guess)

What a dream spot, simply gorgeous. I highly recommend getting there EARLY. The site opens at 8am, we were there around 9 and there weren't many people. We took our time and stayed until 11.30, by then it was PACKED. Don't forget a 🩱👙 and a towel because you want to swim in those refreshing, christal clear waters.

I really enjoyed my visit here. The falls were beautiful, VERY cold. Unfortunately we went on a cloudy day but can imagine it would be so so nice in the sunshine. Plenty of space to spread out and lots of tables and benches dotted around.

100% a must see when in Luang Prabang. We actually went twice during our stay because of how stunning it was. There are 3 different pools to swim in and plenty of scenic spots to take pictures of the falls. The park starts to empty after 4pm & closes at 5pm. If you're renting a bike it’s an easy & pleasant 45mins drive outside the main city. We didn’t need the map for the drive back as it’s pretty much the same road the entire way. When you get there, it’s 2000kip for parking. In the same area there are plenty of stalls/small restaurants selling food, light snacks, water, sunglasses etc You pay 25,000K for your ticket to the actual park & for a shuttle bus which will drive you up through a small village and to the main gate where tickets are checked. Again, plenty of local restaurants here for those in need of some food as well as one restaurant inside the park near the main fall itself. Remember to bring your swimming shorts & to charge your phones for some amazing photos!

The waterfall is extremely beautiful - water is such a beautiful light blue color - as if it’s shining, especially on a sunny day. Water is pretty warm for a waterfall, we’ve had a great swim and memories for life. ⭐️

The waterfalls are great. Without doubt these are spectacular and fun to visit. Downside is that the site is way too commercial and flooded by hundreds or thousands of tourists a day. Make sure you arrive early since most minivans with tourists arrive around lunch time. Another advice: rent a scooter bike to go here, because the road to the waterfalls is worth it! There is also a kind of dangerous path to the top of the mountain. The effort is not worth it since the view above isn’t great.

Nice view and information boards on the walking trail. The hike to the top is very slippery. At the top you can pay 10,000 kip for a short boat trip going to the “source of the waterfall”, but there is not much to see. At the top you can also hike for 3km to a cave with restaurants. Budget ~2 more hours if you want to do that.

If you do want to swim, there’s a super crowded walking path to the left all the way up with great views and photo ops. But then cross the bridge at the top and walk down the right side nature path. The views aren’t as spectacular on this side (lots of trees), but it wasn’t crowded at all (we didn’t pass anyone). It was finally quiet and you can swim in so many beautiful pools by yourself. The road out is mostly paved but does have gravel and major potholes in several areas. We road a motorbike out and would have been fine on the road had it not been for the minivans driving by wrecklessly. We were almost run off the road more than 3 times bc they don’t care - swerving into our space, flying by at high speeds, pushing us off the road, so close that I could touch them. If you motorbike out, be careful. The falls were beautiful, but SO crowded. It was noisy, shoulder to shoulder space, having to fight for walking room, rude tourists pushing by and cutting in lines. It was not peaceful at all because everyone was talking loudly, children were screaming and running. Voices were almost louder than the waterfall.

This waterfall really is worth the hype, it is huge - you cannot even see in photos the scale of it. There are plenty of places to swim in, even to jump off a tree into the waterfall! The bear sanctuary is included in the ticket price which I think is amazing. You can get really close to the bears. Recommend coming at opening time to get the best experience as you will be one of the only people there before all the tours show up - but even when they do, there are soo many pools that you will not find it overcrowded.

Amazing. Such a great and inexpensive way to go. The bear rescue centre was fabulous and the swim at the waterfalls was amazing. Under £5 to take the minivan for a round trip and the same to enter the park. We also had some nice crepes for lunch in the village. Doesn't get much better.

Definitely the best waterfall in Luang Prabang, one of the top in the North. A bit too touristy at base, get up the mountain for some amazing views and relaxing time. The access is now via electric shuttle service. Entrance is 15k for locals, 25k for foreign nationals, including the shuttle. Also included access to the bear rescue center. First few waterfall stages are great and the main one is just stunning and huge. You can swim in the first stages and you can hike up to the top at the main one. Definitely a no brainer, you need to visit this if you stay in LP.

beautiful waterfall in great surroundings. Unfortunately very touristy, ideally visit before 11am. Be sure to go to the top, it's worth it. The path is steep and partly slippery, wear good shoes.

Wow wow wow! What an amazing place! So worth visiting. There are multiple waterfalls. Many of which you can swim. There’s even a tree you can jump off. So beautiful and such clear blue water. The main waterfall you can’t swim but it is like no waterfall I have ever seen. The most spectacular sight. At the main fall there is also a steep walk up to the top. Great for views and more opportunities to swim! Also an added bonus is a free bear sanctuary included in the price of the ticket. What a bargain. I’m pretty sure parking is easy and available.

We went very early so that we didnt get it crowded with people. We went on a motorbike at about 07h and got there 08h. The road is very bad (go slow, but you can go if you have the skills to deviate from animals, kids, giant potholes!!) - very risky. Be sure to bring a jacket if you go on bike early because of the foggy rain and the mountain cold. When we got to the place it was marvelous. There were already 2 or 3 tourists around who woke up early. You have to leave the car/bike in the parking lot, pay the parking and pay the ticket for the waterfalls. They will take you on and electric cart to the actual entrance of the park. You can swim on the natural pools that dont have the prohibition signs. I suggest you go directly to the main waterfall and then to the small trail that leads uphill - amazing view too. After that, just go down following the river and jumping in the pools you like. Go see the bears and leave them a donation or buy the shirts to support the work. This is a tour that you will best enjoy if you go early, so please organize yourself and go by bike or strike a deal with a van to go very early (get there by 08h). Thank me after.

This is a very beautiful location. Be warned that there are a ton of tourists here. We came and it was packed. That being said, if was very clean and most people were pretty under control. Mostly just taking photos. The usual backpacker crowd was being a bit loud, but it was nice. Very enjoyable.

Amazing natural beauties of Laos. The nature here is breathtaking, definitely recommend. After you buy the ticket, you can take the electric ride up the hill to the base of the waterfall, and the cars are on a route and you can always hop on, even to get back down if you don't want to walk back. The whole area is well taken care of, and also includes a bear rescue center which gives it even more exotic feel. The hike up to the top of the waterfalls is definitely worth it, even though it's a bit slippery (recommend hiking shoes). The best spot for a refreshing swim would be up there in the top.

Excellent trip out , well worth it. You get to view a selection of waterfalls and lagoons on the way up, take the left hand trail as it's easier than the right hand one. The whole area is quite stunning and you can swim in the lagoons. At the last waterfall on your way up, it's the biggest, there is another trail that takes you above the waterfall, up there there are several lagoons to swim in, but be warned this trail is very hard work and quite taxing, and personally I don't think it's worth it.

I went there during rainy season in September. It took you about 30 minutes from the town by motorbike. The road has lot of portholes but the view was breathtaking. You should arrive there early because less people and easy for you to take pictures.

Beautiful waterfalls. Once you arrive at the parking, you can board a small electric bus that brings you very close to the waterfalls. Then you take a short but very nice walk in the forest and get to several places with superbe waterfalls and clear blue lagoons. At the last (biggest) waterfall, you can climb up if you want (path on the left of the waterfall) to observe the source of the waterfalls. It is takes however about 20min to reach the top and it is not as nice, but you can swim and relax. I would only recommend going there if there are too many people down (as it is usually very quiet on top)

This is the best ever scenic beauty I have ever seen. A perfect blend of pure air and Crystal clear water. For a moment it looks fictional but trust me it's real and do take a dip dive in this cold waterfall. This is the most visited place in Laos. Very well connecting flight, train and bus service for Luang prabang.

You will need to purchase an entrance ticket upon arrival at the parking lot. The entrance fee for locala is 15,000 kip and foreigners 25,000 kip. You can enter by electronically scanning the QR code of the entrance ticket. You can take an electric car to the waterfall entry point. Swimming is allowed at the lower point of the waterfall, but not at the top. You can buy food and go in. When I visited in December, the water was cold and I didn't try swimming.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the stunning Kuang Si Waterfall on April 2, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations. This natural wonder is an absolute must-visit for anyone traveling to Laos. Here's why I fell in love with Kuang Si Waterfall: Unparalleled Beauty: As soon as I laid eyes on the cascading turquoise waters of Kuang Si, I was left speechless. The sight of the multi-tiered waterfall plunging into several crystal-clear pools was simply mesmerizing. The lush green surroundings and the gentle sounds of nature added to the enchanting atmosphere, making it a truly magical experience. Picture-Perfect Photography: For photography enthusiasts, Kuang Si Waterfall is a dream come true. Every angle offers a postcard-worthy shot, whether it's capturing the majestic waterfall itself, the vibrant blue pools, or the surrounding flora and fauna. I couldn't resist capturing countless snapshots to preserve the memories forever. Refreshing Swimming Opportunities: One of the highlights of visiting Kuang Si Waterfall is the opportunity to take a refreshing dip in the inviting pools. The water is refreshingly cool, making it a perfect respite from the tropical heat. Swimming in the crystal-clear pools surrounded by the lush jungle is an experience I will never forget. Serene Nature Trails: Kuang Si Waterfall is not just about the waterfall itself; it offers picturesque nature trails that wind through the surrounding forests. Exploring these trails allowed me to immerse myself in the tranquility of nature, spot local wildlife, and discover hidden gems such as smaller waterfalls and secluded pools. Ethical Bear Sanctuary: Another unique aspect of Kuang Si Waterfall is the nearby Bear Rescue Centre. Operated by Free the Bears, this sanctuary provides a safe haven for rescued bears, and visitors have the opportunity to observe these magnificent creatures up close. Supporting the conservation efforts while enjoying the waterfall was truly fulfilling.

Really cool waterfall, restaurant at the bottom. 20 min hike to the very top of the hill and a lagoon there you can also swim in. Entry cost is about £1.40 to this park and you can see the bear sanctuary too. We swam In multiple parts of the water fall and had a great time.

Amazingly beautiful waterfall that is also great during dry season. It is very easy to reach, you're being brought up with an electric cart and walk the last bit past the bear sanctuary. You can swim in the very cold water, which is very nice on these hot days. You can also walk all the way up to the top.

Famous and truly incredible waterfall with several levels. Looks almost artificial it is so beautiful 😄 Note, it is quite busy with tourists and the toilets need serious maintenance (no water in the toilets when I went, so all were very dirty). You can swim in designated areas too, which is a nice experience. I would recommend going further down as it is less crowded there, watch the rocks as u go in. We hiked to the fall, arriving at the top and then went down (very slippery walkway, watch your steps).

amazing, don’t hesitate just go see it! entrance fee is 25,000 kip per person and includes the electric shuttle to the main gate. hold your ticket as you need to show it here. We went in August, still amazing to see! partner went for a swim in middle pool, but be aware the current from the falls is strong so make sure you can swim! the loop around the top of the main water fall is slippery, this is not an exaggeration, have good hiking shoes with a little grip, i had new balance trainers on (managed but had to really watch my step especially going down) the path is not all concrete steps is mostly clay (this could vary in the drier season though! also don’t plan on wearing nice clothes as it will get dirty up here. the restaurant at the mid way point is relatively good value, and a quick fix for a iced coffee! staff are friendly here. go in the morning if you’re self driving and you can be flexible with how long you stay at the falls. if you are on tour , you may feel rushed! eve if you hire your own tuk tuk. the Moon bears on entrance was a delight to see! these bears are brought here to be cared for after being in captivity! all they ask is to buy a tshirt to help donate and keep them going !

A really good day out, I must say. Prices are cheap, transport provided to park entry. There is a good walk up above waterfalls, if like me you enjoy 'earning it'. Waterfalls are special. Up to is a fab place for a dip away from the crowds. Bear conservation is to be admired and respected. Clean, fun, a must.

We arrived around 8:15am via shared pickup truck from town. For 4 people it was 150k kip per person for round trip and we spent 4 hours at the waterfalls with lunch also. I think that was a good amount of time cuz we didn't feel rushed. Views of the falls with nobody in them and then it felt very strange to be part of a human zoo for groups of Chinese tourists. Right when we got in the water around 10am, a group arrived with their cameras to take photos of us. Climbing to the top is slippery and there's not much views, the views are better from below. The Chinese groups are also very loud near the moon bears, but thankfully the bears seemed to be content ignoring the noise. The one bear was very energetic trying to get the attention of another bear across the fence. It seemed they had a decent amount of space, but they don't come out until 9am so I'm not sure where they keep 21 bears at other times 😳 Check out the short side paths for big spiders! Climb some of the ladders on the trees. The water is cold!

November 01, 2022. Very pretty waterfall cascading in a torrent from a height of about 70 m. At this time of the year. - just after the end of the rainy season - the fall volume is at its peak. A 30 minute visit should be sufficient to fully enjoy the fall. Should you decide to climb above the fall from the path to the left of the fall, be warned that it s a rather steep and slippery slope. Before reaching the fall you will need to park and get on an electric shutter, then walk about 10 minutes. On your way back to the parking you can eat and shop at the small village. Please note that the mountain road is not in best shape, filled with potholes and very dusty in places. A songtaew will cost about 400 000 kips ( for 2-6 persons) return and waiting 2-3 hours for you. Go early to avoid the crowd and the hot sun. A very pleasant way to see the country side.

Well worth the ride, my wife has one shaky leg so she wasn't comfortable walking up, so they gave her a ride to the top. I walked via the trail, quite comfortably. Enjoyed the views. She was able to walk back down with us. A nice day out

Lovely lakes and waterfalls. So blue, so beautiful, so lush. I believe you can swim in lakes 1-4. I swam in 3 and it was fun with a bunch of little fishes - essentially like a fish pedicure with little fish nipping at your feet. The water was COLD but very refreshing.

One of the best waterfalls I’ve ever been. The water is clear and cold when you take a dip at waterfall level 3. Come early as there is less people around. Take the trail path rather than the asphalt road to the top of the waterfall. There is also a bear sanctuary for you to enjoy. Donations are welcome. If you are coming with a motorbike, you have to leave your bike at the designated parking area and pay 2000 kip for parking fee. Then take an electrical buggy to the waterfall entrance. Toilet is clean too which is located next to the ticketing booth.

One of the big attraction around town! Everybody seems to pass by so going early in the morning is a good idea, it open at 8:00. Walking to the very top is a good idea too, the trail is a bit slippery so many tourist avoid it! You can swim at the top... Plenty of restaurants to eat just off the gate, you can also pick-up something to eat in one of the few picnic area...

This place was amazing and so so beautiful! Definitely a highlight from our time in Lang Prabang. We rented a motor bike and found it fairly easy to bike to from town. We also loved swimming in the lower falls swim area. We recommend going on a weekday as the weekend is very crowded.

Maybe the most stunning waterfall I have ever seen. Gets very busy with tourists understandably, but if you can hike up to the top where there is a much quieter spot to take a swim. Other highlights of the area include the FreeTheBear project and the butterfly park. I’ve never seen so many butterflies!

Beautiful place with the waterfall like from a fairlytale, possible to admire from the ground and from the top after a short climbing. Some pools have the possibility to swim in, however the water is pretty cold.

Absolutely beautiful! We organised our transport with Klook. There are lots of minivans available if you don't have a scooter. The place is filled with butterflies. There is a bear rescue centre where you can watch the bears chill out. There are several pools to swim in down the lower section of the forest walk. The waterfalls are absolutely breathtaking! We hiked up to the spring they feeds the falls. It was a nice walk though slippery in places. There is a cafe inside the park where you can get drinks, food and ice creams. There is also a little market before the ticket checking gate.

Beautiful! Just beautiful! The place the air .... everything. It was an exciting but calm place. You can walk up to the highest top but beware of the slippery slopes. In my opinion a must see in laos!

An otherwise beautiful experience was dampened by a sudden rain shower. We had just arrived and taken a few photos when the downpour began. Plans to swim were banished and the clear blue pools were brown with the increased water flow. The falls were still magnificent and worthy of the trip.

Beautiful place! I recommend getting there as early as possible to avoid the crowds from the tourist vans. We paid 25,000 each as foreigners and 20,000 for parking the scooter which in includes the electric shuttle service to the entrance of the waterfall park.

Very beautiful waterfall! The area is relatively clean and well maintained! The bear rescue Center is located in the same vicinity so it’s very convenient to visit They also have electric car as a shuttle from ticket kiosk to the main entrance

First time here, very stunning landscape. The water is cold. You can swim here or just try it with your barefoot. Nice atmosphere and also very clean space. The ticket is also very cheep (including 2 ways pickup car and ticket for entrance). Recommended place for those who have not visit this place yet.

Lots of fun in a refreshing waterfall! The water is nice, cool and clean. All around this part of asia the rivers are brown from the red soil, but here is beautiful! Bring a towel and enjoy a swim.

Beautiful waterfalls, very clean, lush foliage all around. There is an electric buggy service to take guests from the main entrance (carpark) to the waterfall. Suitable for the elderly or those who don’t want to walk much. Butterfly garden is also very charming. Separate ticket at $5 per person.

These are breathtaking waterfalls with beautiful coloured waters, visible to the bottom, fish swimming and not too crowded. You can walk as far up as you want to but even the top most layer is only a 10 - 15 minute walk of fairly easy climbing.
