Ordered shrimp tacos, 🌮 chicken burrito, and salmon quesadilla. was a wide range of choices on the menu. The best was a burrito,😋 and it was so flavorful. The tacos was great for the price as well. Salmon quesadilla was a bit salty for me. I think it's good to have a simple meal here. I'll probably come back here again soon. 😄

Went here for lunch today based on a travellers recommendation and the food was absolutely amazing. So fresh, so tasty, one of the best meals in asia! The tacos were plump, great salsas, and nice margaritas too! I would recommend this to anyone. Shame I couldn’t give it 6 stars out of 5. Muy bien!! Gracias! Oh and it has aircon too!

Best tacos and burritos in town! Very good value. Balanced meals with protein and veggies. Options to add extra things onto your food. Good service. The desserts are a bit too sweet for me. But might be worth a try if you prefer "western" level of sweetness for your desserts.

Lovely spot, tasty food and friendly staff. If you’re traveling in Laos, definitely enjoy the local options. But if you need a break from the typical cuisine, come enjoy Chilean comfort food.

After reading so many positive reviews I must admit to being a little disappointed with the food at Bacan. First time I went I ordered a pork burrito which contained very little meat and barely a trace of cheese. But what really ruined it was the excessive amount of sweetcorn, so abundant that it actually tasted like a sweetcorn burrito rather than a pork one. I finished off with a coffee latte which was okay, albeit a little strong and bitter for my palate. At a guess I’d say it was a premium robusta rather than my preferred arabica. I thought I’d give the restaurant a second chance rather than judge it on a single visit - this time I ordered a beef enchilada. Once again it was crammed with sweetcorn and was virtually devoid of meat. As a borderline diabetic, sweetcorn is one of the worst foods you can eat and one that should be avoided for those with glucose intolerance. Even though I left most of the sweetcorn on the plate, the cloying aftertaste lingered for hours. Additionally, the burrito wrap was thick, but rather than provide steak knives ordinary blunt stainless steel which aren’t up to the job are supplied. When attempting to make an incision in the burrito with these knives, they only served to squeeze the ingredients out. Tastes vary I know - those with a sweet tooth may appreciate the over-abundance and overwhelming taste of sweetcorn, but I found it very sickly. What I would suggest is listing the ingredients on the menu with the option to omit; rather than the one size fits all formula. I’d also suggest the option to pay extra for more meat or cheese - as some other restaurants do. And of course the knives need to be upgraded with the emphasis on sharpness. And finally there was no internet coverage on either visit. The advertised Bocan Cafe network didn’t register on the network list - as though it didn’t exist.

This is a bright, clean and very cool place with a totally chill vibe with a nice mix of music playing in the background. Waitstaff is pleasant and attentive. It is small with two floors of seating. The second floor seating has a library fell to it. I had the pleasure of enjoying the pork bowl. It was light, fresh, flavourful and filling. The only comment is that I wish there were fresh chilies atop as opposed to using the bottled stuff on the table. I will return to check-out other items on the menu as it all looked yummy as it passed me by to other tables.

A really wonderful little place! Best service in Vientiane that I have experienced, including much more expensive places. Went on a Thursday for lunch and they had a steady flow of customers.I ordered the chicken, pork and beef empanada set which comes with green sauce, guacamole, and fresh salsa. They were golden brown and had terrific flavor. I couldn't finish all 6, but I wanted to! Looking forward to returning to sample other menu items. The tacos look fantastic, but there are many choices. One other thing that is a real positive, they accept credit card payment for a small surcharge, so tourists like me don't have the currency headache to deal with. Highly recommend this outstanding establishment.

I recommend this place if you’d like to try the very best and only Chilean food and desserts restaurant/cafe! I give Banoffee 10/10, the unique taste of Chilean dessert. Try and you won’t regret it! I even bought one back home for my sister to try. It’s the best!

Clean, casual, good music and efficient service. Many menu choices of Chilean cuisine and also few Asian choices. Portions not large but adequate for a meal. Coffee frappe bit weak (for my espresso taste). Beers also available so an option for dinner too.

By chance, we went for lunch on Taco Tuesday, and, wow, am I glad we did. We sampled shrimp, pulled pork and pulled beef tacos. Inexpensive and large portions. The kids had fish-and-chips and fried chicken-and-chips. The classic margaritas were tasty. It's a beautiful room, nice service, good food, and very reasonably priced. Many nice cafes in Vientiane worth visiting, and this is one of them.

Hands down the best South American restaurant with such affordable prices I have had so far in Southeast Asia. The owner is a Chilean guy, and the menus are full of original dishes from Chile and they are just soooooo goooood. My friend and I, we had a fish taco, a longaniza (Chilean pork chorizo) bacán taco, chicken empanadas, longaniza quesadilla, and definitely they are all “muy ricos”. Finally we tried Alfajores de Chocolate, a perfect way to finish up our dinner with this original sweets, so good that I ordered this Alfajor again the next day through delivery service to my hotel. Such a satisfying dinner we had! Love it! And totally recommended 👍👍👍

Hidden gem in Vientiane. The owner is Chilean and has been in Laos for 9 years. His wife is Laotian. He is very friendly and had a nice chat with me. His aim is to make Bacan like a simple eatery in Latin America without the fine dining frills. The food and service are Both impeccable and I would highly recommend this place both for the quality of food, service as well as price.

Great place for South American food in Laos. We tried the breakfast tacos, shrimp tacos, fish taco, pulled pork taco, and empanadas. It was all fantastic…just as good as tacos I used to eat back home in Austin, TX!

Utterly outstanding, best food I’ve had in Laos. Wonderful staff. Delicious drinks. Fantastic service; when the food did arrive I let out an internal scream of joy at the sheer sight of what was in front of me. An authentic corner of Chile situated in South East Asia. Superbly priced, big portion sizes and exceeding in taste. Vegetarian and vegan options also in abundance. Would thoroughly recommend to any traveller/local looking to get a sensational break from local cuisine. Cannot wait to return one day.

The food at Bacan is so so good! A must have for sure. ✨ This place is probably run by a Chilean, - it’s got that homely welcoming atmosphere you get from Southern America. Worth to go a bit earlier maybe, during the lunch hours they ran out of some ingredients.

Delicious food, so flavorful and tasty! They play salsa music on the background and the people here are so kind and friendly. The owner was here so I also got to practice my Spanish! Lovely atmosphere 🤩 Gracias!

This is always my go to place when I visit Vientiane. The food here is top notch South American and very authentic. My wife always orders the Latin Mix and I love the tacos. Make sure you save room for dessert since the Banana cake is to die for. So glad they made it through Covid.

Nice place with amazing Chilean food. Loved their empanadas -original Chilean style empanadas-, carrot cake and Coffee (the best cappuccino in Vientiane). The owners and the staff are super friendly. They also offer a vegetarian and vegan options

If you’re looking for good Latin food, come here! I’ve been looking for a decent burrito in the southeast. The breakfast burrito here saved me ! Staff is nice. It’s no Tijuana taqueria, but it’s definitely the best Latin food spot I’ve found in the last month I’ve been in the southeast. They have a salmon ceviche that’s pretty good too : D

Fresh and delicious Chilean food, probably the best place to mentally travel to South America while the country is on lockdown? The desserts are also to die for, try the Tres Leches cakes (classic and chocolate)!

This was probably my favorite meal I’ve had in the country so far. Everything was so delicious and the tres leches cake was absolutely beautiful to top everything off with. Staff was really friendly too! Highly recommend

🫤 Quite underwhelming experience. The reviews here seem to be high but I had the opposite. I came here with my partner, and the melon shake was bland. It was watery and it had no taste whatsoever. We also had the Four Cheese pizza here (which costed 155000 Kip), but it tasted like cheap cheap mozzare...
