Although it’s a pretty basic museum, I enjoyed learning more about the secret war and their UXOs here. Bought a shirt and cup to help in the massive effort.. as well as remind myself of the shittiness of this world we’re living in.

Great Museum. It is very well laid out, has even small "games" to share more knowledge and also a little theatre on the second floor that shows various Clips of the work MAG is doing including detonating, excavating and removing mines, grenades, cluster bombs etc. Very informative museum and it's for free. It is advisable though to donate as they are doing great work and are helping so many people around the world. Very brave people.

Much information about MAG's impressive work clearing the dangerous explosives left behind by the US bombing missions. They do incredible and dangerous work and this is explained by some good documentaries as well as examples of the mines and missiles recovered. A reasonable shop with t-shirts, mugs and more to help support their important work

We visited here just after arriving in Phonsavan. It's handy that they are open until eight o'clock in the evening. It's very informative and the exhibition is well done.

I was glad to stop by this information center. The worker was really nice and welcoming. There was never any pressure or asking for donations. Personally, I think their mission is amazing and worth donating too, but you are welcome here to just learn more and see what they are doing. They have very informative displays and totally a cause that is worth supporting. T-shirts are $15 and there are other items to buy. You also can see that there are US and UK non-profit tax information and there is a lot of transparency on the money they bring in along with the service they give to both the community and a lot of the world.

Really interesting with case study examples of how MAG are changing lives in Laos through training and empowering the communities. Really worthy NGO I think, I liked it anyhow!

This was a well organized and very informative center. It’s just the right size so it’s not overwhelming with too many images and information and the upstairs has videos as well as more information about the organization, MAG, and the different communities and counties it helps. If you want to contribute to the organization, you can make a donation and or buy souvenirs.

There are two centers within close proximity to each other. Given that they are free they are a must do visit while in Phonsavan. Note they shut for lunch.

The listing for the MAG center is correct now. They focus on making the land safe by detecting and destroying UXO. Their center describes the process of making land productive again.

They show daily movies about the war consequences and is possible to understand better the country situation and MAG labour. In addition is possible to read all the info in the show room they have at the entrance

Very interesting and a place you should not miss when visiting Phonsavan. You'll be shocked to learn about the after maths of the secret war in Laos. It's a very small museum, so it will take you more or less than half an hour to visit it. There's no entrance fee. They ask you for a donation if you want.

Been at this place twice over 2 days in town. Owned by a Vietnamese man whom both occasion was sleeping in hall couch. It doesn't count my first afternoon walk in to find nobody as I stood memorabilia on wall mostly in sync of the restaurant frontage 3 X 3 left and right UXO removed of explosive powders standing tall. That brought me in to the place. Somehow, it screams avionics sound together the sound it would have made being dropped out of weapons bay of the plane back in times. Kind a guilt curious as the photos on wall speaks volume. So, I walked out on cat tip toe. Thinking a limbo victimized Hmong lady may pop out from the kitchen. Walking out, couldn't help the pictures of menu on the wall "Continental Breakfast" Hamburger with FF, and many familiar American dish and Laos. Next day, just about lunch time I walk in with bit of solemnity about to drop an order of half dozen dishes from the wall. There he was sleeping on the couch unknown to customer came in for lunch nor the time of the day. Quietly I walk out to a quarter size floor partitioned from main serving hall. Sitting on one of 4 plastic weaved wicked outdoor furniture table set soon after a noisy 2 young Vietnamese fellas came sat across table. The owner came out somewhat in daze and spoke English! The fellas ordered first without owner spoke something in Vietnamese and my turn. I asked for menu as he took a while coming back with ashtray. The menu was all pictured with English descriptions. He stands in front to recommend Hamburger Set which I ignored to order stir fried noodles and vegetables. Soon came the Vietnamese Coffee for Two and a package of Chinese Sun Flower seeds. 20 Minutes after order, came the plate with a cheep Instant Noodle with clearly unwashed veggies as the lower parts of vegetables stems have clay earth residuals. Relieved it was stir fried. Following day, I went back after lunch at near by. Ordered Ice Coffee and got a Vietnamese stye Ice Coffee which for a change I liked. Reminded the thick and strong coffee packed in ice. Owner sat across facing traffic, wanted to know where I'm from. He said he's from Saigon. Oh, I've been to Ho Chi Min City many times I said. He didn't have much to say as he wasn't fluent in Eng. Or maybe because I said I know, when he said he was Vietnamese. I added, large Vietnamese community in Xieng Kuang. Yes he said. How long have you been in Laos? 14 years.. Not much said afterwards.. I'm sure his hamburgers are good. But, couldn't muster to have it and didn't have time for it.. Arios ombre.
