An unforgettable experience. This centre will inspire you with the crucial and excellent work they are doing to help the elephants in Laos. We had an excellent guide, who answered all of our questions. The place is very hands off the elephants, which is exactly how it should be, letting the elephants be elephants! Our two days involved a jungle walk to find the elephants, watching the baby elephant and her mum play in the water, watching the elephants socialise as a big group and watching the group of elephants playing in the water. We learned about the work ECC are doing and we met with the vet technician who gave us an insight into caring for these amazing animals. Pack your mosquito repellant as you are in the Jungle! Please go and support the elephants and avoid supporting places that allow riding elephants.

Visiting the Elephant Conservation Centre was an incredible experience. The dedication to the welfare and preservation of these majestic animals was evident. The knowledgeable staff provided insightful information about elephant conservation efforts. The opportunity to observe these gentle giants in a respectful, natural environment was both educational and inspiring. It’s a must-visit for anyone passionate about wildlife conservation.

Go there and support this project!!! The only place I know so far where Elephants are treated in a good way. This is a holistic project for protecting the Asian elephant but also all the nature so no plastic straws, people from the village work there etc. It's worth the money and the time to spend there 2 to 3 days. Great service, great people, great adventure. Great to see that only the mahuts are allowed to ride their Elephant and nobody else!!

This is a wonderful place where they do excellent work and the experience of being among the elephants is quite magical. I'd been to other ethical elephant places but this was something even better than them. There's a depth to your experience and also the sheer beauty of the place. The staff are outstanding. Thank you so much, Mr La, for your fascinating information and insights. You were a great guide.

The ECC is a great place for elephants as well as for the human visitors! Me and my girlfriend had a very inspiring stay there. If you travel to Laos (which I very much recommend you to do) and you love animals you got to visit the camp and help the awesome team to save the Asian elephant!

If you care about animals, you have to visit the ECC in Sayaboury. This organisation is sincerely ethic. We have been there for 3 days and saw happy and confident elephants in their natural habitat. Su was a lovely guide and explained us everything we wanted to know about the elephants and the work of ECC. The team from ECC cares a lot about the wellbeing and preservation of this beautiful creature.

Wonderful experience for our daughter and us. It is really good to see places where people really takes care about the animals. It is wonderful that you can meet wonderful elephants without disturbing and harming them and find out much about their life, habits and biology. Visits of guests support this place so don’t think too long and book a visit at ECC:-)

I had an amazing experience at the ECC in Laos! The elephant habitat is exceptional, providing a wonderful environment to observe these majestic creatures. It’s nice to see people are brought to observe elephants, not elephants being brought to entertain humans. you get many information about the elephants and the center's dedication to their care is impressive. The facilities are good, food is great and offers a bit of variety. The staff at the ECC is very friendly and always open for a nice chat. The bungalows are simple but clean and offer comfortable mattresses. Also you have the opportunity to use a kayak in the free time which was a great bonus. Thank you for an unforgettable experience! 100% would go again :) probably the most meaningful money I spent on my trip through Laos!

Suite nearly ruined the experience. We stayed in the private rooms with our family. It’s quite a distance from restaurant up lots of stairs. Our room had a literal bees nest in the walls. We were told that they tried to get rid of them before but I guess they were back. We were stung and were moved into the room next door. No mosquito netting on the windows meant having to keep them closed in 30+ degree heat. A fan would be nice. Bathrooms swarmed in ants and other bugs. We’ve stayed in many jungle accommodations, including deep in the Amazon, and this was the most uncomfortable. The bungalows would have been a better choice for us. The actual elephant tours and adventure are great, but you can tell the resort has seen better days. There seems to have been no maintenance in the last 3 years. I think we would have preferred going to another sanctuary in Laos.

Incredible humbling experience at this centre. Very educational and they are doing incredible work allowing domesticated rescued elephants the chance to live as natural a life as possible. Would highly recommend it. Very informative, great food & accomodation, brilliant service. We had many opportunities to observe elephants and interact with them briefly. Most importantly we supported the work they are doing to try and preserve their natural habitat.

Thank you so much for such an educational and wonderful experience. We found the ECC in the Lonely Planet Guide and booked our stay and will never regret the decision to stay one night. Only regret is that we never stayed another night to enjoy the calm atmosphere and the kindness of all who work at the centre. The accommodation was basic but clean, beds confortable, electric fan in the room if needed and a good mosquito net over the bed.The food some of the best we’ve had in Laos ! The small bar serves drinks at very reasonable prices. Our excursions into the forest to see the elephants was a wonderful experience even for two people in their late 60’s and not the fittest chickens on this planet !!😂 But we did it !!!! Thank you again !!!

Excellent educational facility. Truly comfortable accommodations. Amazing, friendly and helpful staff. This place sets the example all others should follow in the elephant conservation field. It's about culture, conservation, habitat, herds, families and respect. Its about bringing the visitors to the elephants in their natural habitat, not the other way around.

A very professional team, a real conservation project, located in the forest, where elephants belong to. They rescued elephants from illegal trafficking, they also started to release elephants into the wild, a first in Lao PDR!

A great day at the elephant conservation. These elephants have a vast area to roam they are not captive and all proceeds this conservation make go straight back into the conservation for the elephants. Wonderful day.😬😬😬

If you want to see Elephants in Laos, please go here and nowhere else. They actually try hard to have their elephants be healthy and happy - which doesn‘t include being touched, washed or ridden by tourists all day. I‘ve learned lots about elephants, we could watch them being elephants, and the atmosphere at the location is just beautiful.

Had a lovely day out. Well run. They now do not offer elephant riding which is good and there is no need. You spend a lot of close time with the elephants in beautiful surrounds. Guide was lovely .

What an incredible experience in the natural environment of the elephants !!! We have learned a lot about elephants and their plight in Asia, especially in Laos : there are only eight hundred elephants left in the country of a million elephants, and the Elephant Conservation center works for the protection of this species through numerous projects with their 29 elephants. If you are looking for a unique Conservation Center on the continent, this is where you should go, and your visit will directly support the Center and its more than sixty local employees. Many thanks to the ECC and all the staff
