👍👍 I was lucky enough to live near this place for almost 3 years. And I would be lying to you if I say I don't miss having it on my doorstep. Piteu is that kind of restaurant that once you try you always want to go back. With your family, friends, or even alone. The food is truly delicious, the portion... I was lucky enough to live near this place for almost 3 years. And I would be lying to you if I say I don't miss having it on my doorstep. Piteu is that kind of restaurant that once you try you always want to go back. With your family, friends, or even alone. The food is truly delicious, the portions are very generous and the price is great. But it is not just this. Piteu has something unique in its atmosphere. All the time I go back there I feel like I'm going to my granny's house for some comfort food. It has this unique "home feeling" that you can't find easily these days. It is always busy, full of locals and tourists dividing the space and creating a nice balance that makes us feel comfortable. Years pass and the same waiters are there, working hard, being friendly, remembering your food preferences. And the food... always amazing. I seriously don't know how they can keep their quality so good year after year. But I'm so happy they can do it. Their Iscas dish (Portuguese style pork liver) is so delicious that I beg you to try it. It is simple Portuguese food at its best. The Bacalhau a Piteu also deserves to be mentioned and is a good choice if you prefer fish.

Second time here and each time was a journey that I want to keep repeating! The food here is just amazing! They have a wide enough menu with many meat and seafood options! The portions are very generous and flavors are amazing! Mainly local people are here and it’s always full. I will keep coming for this great food for sure!

This a hundred percent local experience with great family cooking. It is what l call down to earth food focused only on eating experience. It is a typical tasca , meaning the ambiance is not relevant but what counts is only the food and the food. It is located in the historical Bairro Alto district. Reservation is a must. Otherwise you will need to queue up at the door with a dozen or more people waiting and hoping for the lucky ones to eat fast and leave. They serve local examples of fish and meat. The portions are abundant. Very tasty. The service is extremely friendly and caring . It is certainly a place by now discovered also by the tourists. But there is no discrimination whether you are a local or a tourist. It offers an affordable solution for a gourmet cooking. Congratulations!

I was disappointed. It was very noisy, the setup wasn’t great. Food was average. I had the grilled sea bass, it came with boiled potatoes that had no taste to them. I had shrimps for appetizer. Service wasn’t great either. It is more expensive for what it offers.

This restaurant is amazing! A good friend of mine & his wife who live part time in Lisbon, recommended it to us for our trip here, and we are so glad we listened. The first night we stopped, it was packed, so we made reservations for the next night. By the time we arrived the next night, it was almost full again, and our table was waiting for us. The restaurant has a very neighborhood vibe to it, and we had the feeling that a lot of the patrons were repeat customers. The owner and staff were very efficient, friendly, and attentive, which made for a wonderful evening because it was almost like we were being treated as family. And now for the food, it was to die for! We had a table of seven, so we had a variety of dishes, and we were all sharing samples and to my palette, everything was cooked to perfection (grill sampler, ~veal steak, swordfish steak, pork chops, and breaded veal (I do not speak Portuguese so I do not know the exact names, sorry)). All in all, it was one of the highlights of our trip and I cannot wait to return!

Great place that was recommended to us by the host of O Vinhaca. What we ordered we really enjoyed. We were tired as we had just got back from Sintra and trammed it over there. Got in just as it was opening. Small place. Lovely looking restaurant. Shared some cheese for starters. Couldn't face the bread. We just weren't hungry enough. There chess. One nice, one amazing, and one kinda boring. I got the Churrasco for mains. Massive amount of food. Wifey went with the veal stew. Massive amount of food. No faults though. Delicious. We couldn't eat it all. I've only given 3 stars for service which I feel a little mean about. There was no instance that made me uncomfortable but I got a small inkling they wanted the table back pretty quickly. I felt a little rushed. But, again, the food was why we were there and it was top notch. Recommended

I keep coming back and it’s always busy for a reason. Hearty, wholesome and delicious food. The house special and cod are out of this world! Several gluten free options for fellow coeliacs including desserts. Great value and the wine selection is superb. Highly recommended!

Arrived here without a booking just after they had opened at 7.00pm and there were a few locals already eating their dinner. After some gentle persuasion managed to get accepted as a table of seven as long as we ate straight away, despite there being lots of bookings from about 7.30pm onwards - which was lucky. Within 30mins the restaurant was full of pre-booked dinners and there was a queue out of the door and up the street. The food was great - home cooked Portugese style - my personal favourites out of the dishes I tried were the Garlic Prawns and the small fried fish, but everyone's meals were great. The cheese with crusty bread as a starter was a first for me - but was also delicious. Remember to leave space for your other dishes though as the portions are large! With two bottles of wine, beers, water, some desserts and coffees it came to about €25-30 each - which considering we were stuffed was a very good deal. I would highly recommend this place - but book ahead or be prepared to wait!

Food was average - had the Porco Alentejano - the Pork was a bit over cooked and the dish was too oily for my taste. We sat inside (it was winter) but I think it’s probably a nicer experience to go in Summer and sit out in the square.

A really wonderful authentic busy loud Portuguese experience. You are surrounded by locals, and a few tourists, with very busy staff running here and there serving large plates of traditional food. If you don’t have a reservation you may need to wait a while before getting seated. I enjoyed the entire experience as I ate my lunch and soaked it all up.

Wonderful seafood! Out of 3 nights in Lisbon we visited O Pitéu da Graça twice! Locals go to this place and it is always full, I recommend to reserve a table before you go!

No nonsense service with amazing Portuguese food. Black pig pork is a must try. Never had this before, like the pork equivalent of a5 wagyu beef!! Squid was special too. Salted cod was decent, not spectacular. All very reasonably priced (for a Londoner!). Wanted to come back but closed on a Sunday!

We just asked if it was possible to eat there nothing more. We understand that the place is busy and it's totally normal to refuse people : no need to argue about that. But you can treat people respectfully. Tourist are not welcomed here.

Excellent quality and value, local and authentic Portuguese dishes in an intimate setting. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, abundant in flavours (and portion size!). My favourite dishes were the black pig, a local delicacy, and the squid, which was so tender and delicious. I plan to go back to Lisbon just to come back to this restaurant again! Tip - we arrived at 6:45pm for 7pm opening and there was already a queue building up so get there early to avoid disappointment.

Provides a good atmosphere of a typical Portuguese diner. Opens up at 7.30 p.m. and reservation is not possible. Ford was delicious, so try to be there early to avoid a long wait.

Great small family owned and operated place. This is where the Portuguese come to eat. Excellent food for a reasonable price. Must make a reservation. We saw them send away a ton of people that didn't have a reservation. The cod fish is to die for.

Great local restaurant, great food and friendly staff. You might need Google translate though to match the translated menu to prices. You may also want to pre-book a table as there was a queue waiting for one, looked as if most people queuing were local which IMO is great

Great restaurant in the heart of Graça neighborhood. Authentic local experience. It was completely full, I recommend having a reservation. The service was fantastic, very nice and with good English. The portions are huge, perfect to share. The food feels homy and the flavors are great. Food and wine are very cheap. I will come back in my next trip to Lisbon.

Piteu is one of the best restaurants in town when it comes to Traditional Portuguese food. There are delicious options for both meat and fish. I'd really suggest you to try the black pork chops! The ingredients are genuinely good, portions are generous and prices are super accessible. Normal range is between 15-20 per person for a dish, appetizer and house wine. Could not recommend more - Make sure to go early or book in advance because it's always full, for a reason.

This is one of the best restaurants in the Graça neighborhood. We were recommended this place by locals and I can see why! The place is always busy so I recommend making reservations. The portions were large and prices were very reasonable. I liked the bacalhau as well as the veal with mushrooms. I definitely recommend this place to others!!

Great place, you should really try one the fish options. The servings are big, the prices are a little bit above the average but the servings could be shared if you are not so hungry.

Wonderful food (portions on the larger size) and friendly, home like service.Carry cash as they only accept local credit cards. Definitely a place to come back to.

This was the best fried fish I had in a while. The quality and freshness is great and the service is also excellent. Definitely would come back. Beware that 1 dish is a lot of food
