10/10 recommend. First of all, the ambiance is my favorite part of this restaurant. I am from Austin and we have nice restaurants but nothing like Sidebar. Secondly, the food (and service) were phenomenal. We had a few starters, the pork belly was my favorite. I had the snapper which was delightful and we finished our meal with the bread pudding and cheesecake. This is a restaurant that needs to be in Austin, hands down!!

It was out first time dining at Sidebar. When we first walked the hostess gave us a tour thru the restaurant explaining the different rooms and areas. The restaurant is fairly dark but it creates a beautiful ambiance. We went on a Tuesday so the menu was smaller. We will definitely be back it was an amazing date night

We had the most relaxing evening at The Sidebar. The ambiance is very cozy and romantic and the jazz is not overly loud. We were also serenaded by a saxophonist who did a fabulous job. The service was impeccable, and the food was just delicious. The steaks we had were seasoned to perfection, and melted in our mouth. I sincerely recommend this restaurant, and we can’t wait to go back. If I was forced to pick out a flaw it would be the size of the steaks. They are advertised as 8 oz. steaks on the menu, but mine was no more than 4 oz., and my husbands might have been 6 oz..

Had a wonderful experience last night. Ruben the manager very informative about the history and uniqueness about it. Brandon our bartender was great. Enjoyed the food, drinks and everything about our night out! Check it out!

Was recommended this place for a good while till finally booked my reservation for my 1year anniversary. The service was awesome and our waiter Kassandra (I think that was her name) gave us more information about the bar itself and the history. She recommended some wine for our special occasion but declined due to going on a year of sobriety. My plate was great so was my fiance. she loved the atmosphere because she's into jazz and for sure we are going back on a Wednesday since Kassandra said they have love music on those days and she also added a special note on our dessert. You can see the smile on my fiance face she loved it.. I will return to this place. and the prices for the food aint bad either.

For our engagement party we reserved a room- which obviously costs extra. You would think that if you’re paying more money that it would be good service but that was not the case. Our waiter was going between us and everyone else. He would take about 20 minutes to come back every single time. We’d just sit there with empty drinks. We didn’t even get to order as much as we would have liked because our server never came back- so we decided to call it a night. I was so upset over that for months because we paid so much money for that room - for an important event - and still had a poor experience. Months past and I decided to give it another chance. I reserved a time for my birthday. It was confirmed. The day comes and we drive 30 minutes to see a sign on the door that it is closed for a private event. Seriously? They couldn’t message the people who already had a reservation. Haven’t been back since. If you want to charge that much- get better customer service.

We just had an amazing night! Excellent service by Ozzy, he really made our night! The food and atmosphere was wonderful and the live music was very nice. The only thing we could complain about was we were running late and didn't want to lose our reservation but when you call the number you can't actually speak to anyone! Other than that an all around amazing experience and we will definitely be going back.

The bar reminds me of the one in the Shining. 🤭 Lovely interior, very cool historic building, efficient and attentive staff (but not hovering). Want a classy place to take a date? This is it! Delicious food, excellent drinks. Live saxophonist was very talented but not so loud you couldn't hold a conversation. We enjoyed it so much, we got VIP memberships for a year. It's actually a great deal if you eat there a couple times a year. My only complaint is whatever room spray they use is too strong, like men's cologne. I come home smelling like it every time. It's pleasant, just too much of it.

This place is top notch! The atmosphere, the food, THE MUSIC, and the service! There is a wonderful jazz pianist and singer on Wednesdays! She plays on a beautiful red piano! Her name is Maria D'Luz. If you’re on the fence about this place, don’t think, just go! You will NOT regret it!

Amazing experience last night as always. The ambiance of Sidebar is first class. Had a reservation at 9:15pm was able to sit at the bar for drinks while we waited. Saxophone player walking the floor really made our night.

Love the vibe here! I just sat at the table looking at everything, it is a very visually pleasing place. The drinks were fabulous, I had lemon drop martinis and a carajillo with dessert. For dinner we shared the mushroom fondu which was delicious, and I had the lamb for my main course. I have never had caramelized Brussel sprouts as divine is these. The lamb was cooked medium rare as per my request and was juicy and flavorful, and the Risotto was equally as delicious. Lemon raspberry tart for dessert was the perfect after dinner pallet cleanser. 10/10 reccomend for a nice date night or celebration. My one and only complaint is that they don't have cushions on the seats. Beautiful velvet backs and just wooden benches for the sitting portion.

Felt like we were transported into another world! Very beautiful interior. The food was amazing and came out quickly. Our waiter, Ivan, took the best care of us and really helped us with recommendations for food and drink. We will be coming back!

Brought my wife here last minute for date night due to time constraints. Everything here is phenomenal!!! Hostess was very informative of the scheduling and what they offer throughout the week. Service was quick, atmosphere is amazing and the food was totally worth the prices!! My wife is very picky with her places for steak but from the first bite she said it melted in her mouth!!

Sidebar is a true treasure. As you have seen by the reviews and can see by the photos, it is architecturally stunning. The service is flawless and both the food and the craft cocktails are exceptional. Also a terrific venue for a small meeting, the Sidebar has beautifully appointed and fully equipped AV private dining rooms.

It was my first visit and my initial impression was that the restaurant was very elegant. They had several private party dining rooms and a open area with a bar and seating. The restaurant has low lighting, which I'm not always find of, but the atmosphere was still very nice. They had live music on Saturday evening. The food was very good, great appetizers, salads, soups, especially the tomato basil bisque. I had the redfish. It was a nice portion, but unfortunately it was a little cold. The group talked up the lamb chops and beef tenderloin. The service was very good. Our server was very attentive and cordial. Overall, I would return with my wife for a date night to try other menu offerings.

This is an amazing restaurant. Walking in the door you feel like you are stepping into another world. Fantastic food, all freshly made from scratch. If you are a foodie this place is a must. Though we didn't partake, they have a huge selection of fine wines and liquors. The atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing evening with someone special or if you just want to treat yourself. The Sidebar won't disappoint.

Excellent service. We sat at the bar and our bartender was very knowledgeable, he prepare us delicious drinks and was friendly. It was our first time visiting so we only had drinks, we can wait to visit again for dinner.

A visually beautiful dining experience . Loved the ambience. Loved the music. The food and drinks were good. The service was great. Unfortunately, my husband and I found the chairs very uncomfortable, to the point of causing back aches. We left without dessert or staying to enjoy the saxophone musician because of our back pains. We would have spent more time and money, if the chairs were comfortable.

I recently moved to the Valley and found this place by accident. The atmosphere is great, the food is excellent! The music is very relaxing. I wanted to take pictures but lighting is pretty dim. I will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend Sidebar

This is the third time we go to Sidebar. For the first time both my husband and I were left disappointed. First the good, the environment is superb! The OK: service was ok. Once the waiter saw we would not be persuaded into the VIP program the level of attention diminished. Now for the subpar: the food. We had the mushroom “fondue” which was really a runny imitation alfredo sauce with a few what seemed canned mushrooms. I expect fondue to be full of cheese and to experience the gooey pull of it. This was not that at all!! This was very thin and the taste was simply average. The entrees, the chicken roulade and the seafood risotto were just ok. Nothing really memorable about either. The bread pudding was more like a thick, dry French toast. All was edible but not memorable. This was our 28 anniversary dinner and I think what we will remember about it is the disappointment! I’m not sure if there was a change in management from before COVID to now , but one thing has definitely changed: the food.

The food and atmosphere are amazing, however; it’s pretty annoying to get charged extra fees for everything from still water to extra bread. This is America where tap water is always available, this isn’t Mexico or Europe. Also, while the server was mostly friendly, she messed up our order. Last, additional parking is needed.

This was an amazing experience. Mr. Gabriel was our server and he was the sweetest, most engaging and attentive staff memner ever. Highest level of professionalism. Additionally the atmosphere was soothing, and we got so lucky to witness the smoothest live saxophone jazz player ever. Everything aforementioned only added to the elegant food that was delivered. The aromatics, the textures, and the flavors were enticing and worked extremely well together. The meats were tender, the coffee was smooth and freshly brewed, the vegetables were perfectly cookrd and seasoned. 5/5 experience, food, music. A true hidden gem.

The vibe was beautiful. From the waiter to the singer to the saxophonist. Everything was on point. I went to celebrate my spouse 40th birthday. Their lemondrop was top-notch. Excellent waiter we had.

If you value amazing food combined with unparalled ambiance Sidebar is a must. The service is great as well. On my last visit I went 3 times and each time everything was beyond expectation. Will be going back on my next visit to the Valley.

First time going and won't be the last. It was all good. Caesar salad had a new twist the way it was presented. It was awesome. Background music was live and really enjoyed it. Special occasions are the time to go. I didn't take the phone in because there is no need to be distracted. Enjoy the moment!!!
