Three staff members working very hard to provide a great experience, and very delicious food. Follow the restaurant on Instagram @bgrobata Modern Asian restaurant, decor is on point with delicious sushi and nigiri. Alcohol selection is a nice variation from usual bar fare. Highlights of the meal were the Yellowtail nigiri, Supreme Roll, Gentleman Roll, and Kagua Citrus beer. Between appetizers or hot kitchen meals there is something for everybody, be sure to stop by if you are in the area.

When we found out they serve nigiri omakase for under $30 we sprinted here. You should too. The staff was attentive and kind. The food is so fresh and delicious! This was such a fun eating experience! They don't currently have alcohol, but they'll get the licensing soon!

Delicious grill and sushi. We came Monday evening at it was actually busy which means this place is really good. Got chefs specials and got impressed. Kitchen is delicious too, got octopus balls and beef noodle soup. Broth was very rich and beef marinated real good. Overall great experience. Chef was great and on top of this delivering great service to everyone. And turns our he is the owner of the place. Definitely recommend for everyone in the area and will be back.

My new sushi go to! On par with the quality of Ken's Sushi (which is saying a lot), yet at a lower price point, and a more substantial amount of fish (particularly with the salmon nigiri). The remodel they did completely changed the entire feeling of the space- it's incredibly spacious, yet inviting. I feel like this would be the perfect spot for a neighborhood club or groups to meet! And celebrations as well. I truly would love to bring a lap top there and post up for a far more relaxing ambiance than the Starbucks in the same plaza. It was lovely meeting Pat & Jack, and I just want to urge those reading these reviews to remember that the places we review are often the very first businesses that the owners have launched. And there's so much we don't see behind the scenes (like having to replace the A/C only 7 months in on your lease). So if you're on the fence, I encourage you to give them a try. The service was wonderful, and my to go order was ready in 10 minutes. I will be back!

Excellent experience at this restaurant, I highly recommend for Pinellas county sushi lovers and to those traveling. I am so glad there were other good reviews - I only found this place because of google and it was such a pleasant surprise. The Red Hot Tuna roll, the Tuna Tataki, and the Gentleman roll were the standouts of my experience. I recommend the Supreme roll, but surprisingly it was the most average of all that I tried (and still an above average roll compared to other places). The texture of all the rolls was one of my favorite aspects, especially on the gentleman roll. Tuna Tataki was the best and it was so fresh and delicious! Service is amazing, the restaurant is clean and new, and the food is exceptional. Will definitely be back. Affordable pricing, I over-ordered on purpose but you can definitely get away with $20-30 per person!

We were so excited to experience a new spot. The decor was cute for a first impression, the service was amazing, and they were very accommodating to dietary needs. We ordered the seaweed salad, Rangoon with terra chips, bagel roll, Volcano Roll, and Yellow Submarine. They had is the best volcano roll I’ve ever had. We found the restaurant to be quite clean and the restroom spacious as well. We can’t wait to return! I wish I had taken photos before we dug in!

Our experience at BG Robata was the definition of average. Adorable interior, nice and helpful staff, but extremely underwhelming sushi. The inside of this eatery was very intriguing. Cute Japanese decor was riddled throughout. This restaurant also had a great Japanese drink selection. We ordered a bottle of one of our go-to sparkling sakes, and a glass of plum wine. First, we tried the yellowtail carpaccio. It was not the best dish by any means. The quality of the hamachi was not very impressive, and the ponzu sauce did not hit the mark. We then received the taro rangoon dish. It was very lovely! The taro chips had a great crisp and taste, and the cream cheese rangoon dip was deliciously creamy. We typically do not eat faux crab “fish loaf,” but this was well worth trying. The plum sauce was a very nice touch. The sweetness of the plum sauce complimented the plate very well. Yakitori wise, we ordered the New York strip, baby octopus, and house street corn. All three were fantastic. We really enjoyed the baby octopus yakitori, it was grilled to perfection. The house street corn and New York strip were also delectable. For our nigiri selection, we ordered quail egg, tuna, mackerel, yellowtail, tamago, and smelt roe. The quality was not bad or good, definitely average. The mackerel was oddly very dry, almost as if somebody squeezed every ounce of moisture out of it. The rice was not seasoned at all, and they did not have real wasabi as an option, which was a huge letdown. The rice was not properly seasoned in traditional sushi preparation fashion, which actually took away from the fish, instead of complimenting it. The Hokkaido scallop was our favorite bite. Soft, tender, and fresh. Then we received our unagi don. This was a very satisfying dish. Warm, properly seasoned unagi, drenched in sauce, over a bed of white rice. Truly hit the spot. The cucumbers had a very strange note to them. Oddly enough, they tasted like the smell of horse feed fresh out of a bag. We finalized our meal with the matcha cheesecake. Cut down on the sweetness, and it would have been the perfect dessert. We will return to BG Robata, but mainly for their great selection of 日本人 drinks and their yakitori!

I went in for lunch. Good quiet atmosphere with side Japanese culture on the walls to the music. The service was well. The food even better. Pictured are the Rainbow Roll, Tuna Roll, and California Roll. I will be back to try more rolls and other things on the menu. Would recommend. Is there a slight wait for your food? Answer yes, making sushi is an art and these people work hard to ensure you have a great experience. Dine 7/6/23
