My friend from India recommended a very authentic and real Indian cuisine restaurant in Alsancak The food is fantastic and very affordable, we ordered 4 main dishes 4 kind of mixed snacks and starters with drinks made up to 20€ per head only I got an amazing culinary experience with Taj Special thanks for the attentive stuff and Ms. Preet- the owner of the restaurant who was very nice and warm welcoming Best wishes, will definitely come back and recommend to whoever who wants to add a bit of spice to their culinary routine

We have been coming to Cyprus for 17 years and I have ate at many restaurants and have to say the Taj India restaurant has to be the best restaurant for authentic Indian food The staff are very friendly and attentive The food is amazing nothing is to much trouble they make fresh dishes to order It is a family owned restaurant with sister preet, brother Navi and cousin Karan front of house and master chef udhay! We have been coming since it’s opening 2018 and our favourite dishes are chicken tikka shaslik and Pathia and prawn jalfrezi with Pashwari Nan and vegetable rice 10/10 If you haven’t been before give it a try you will not be disappointed Awesome 👏 Derek and Sandy Lee

Ordered a vegetable biryani, which had tasty charred veggies but not enough flavour in my opinion. I preferred other biryanis I had abroad, but I’m willing to give this restaurant another go in the future, as the food does seem to be authentic and varied. Prices are high (imo) but the portion is very generous — I was eating alone and I could serve myself THREE times with the amount in my little metal thing! I do wish they had a little tasting menu or something, as I dine alone when eating Indian (my boyfriend is not a fan) and I’d love to get to taste more dishes without having to order the big portions separately. However, I felt ripped off, as the lassi didn’t have a price on the menu and I ordered anyway (because I adore it) and when it was time to pay, turns out it was a staggering 95tl for a glass — I wasn’t expecting more than 50 something, so it stung. Bring cash as well, as it’s usually cash-only. I didn’t know and only had my card with me, and thankfully, it seems that their system was working that day. There is a sign saying cash-only, but I only saw it well after placing my order.

Just had a fantastic meal here, a nice restaurant, friendly staff, great service. My chicken jalfrezi was cooked exactly how I wanted it. I would recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back.

We’ve tried a good few Indian restaurants since we arrived a few months ago and this is the best. Great service and great food. Even for vegans! Excellent mushroom curry with a good bit of spice – but still delicate and flavoursome. The starters, main dishes, side dishes and breads were all excellent and even the rice, which I’m often not that bothered about, was really tasty. Reasonable prices too. Will definitely be back.

Little family run establishment. Server was very attentive and knowledgable about the menu to be able to advise on food allergies. There were many gluten free and dairy free options. Some dishes were better than others but all in all a good experience.

We went there for lunch and was highly disappointed with the quality of the food. The food didn't seem fresh and the curries were not cooked properly. The quantity of the mains is very less and the rotis and naan breads are below average. The paneer naan had no paneer and was very stiff. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who is looking for good authentic Indian food.
