👌YOU will come again. A very good place for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian lovers. The food is good and the price is low. The place is generally crowded here. The food is of good quality and their customer service really great (committment towards delivering food on time) Rest, doesn't matter. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Highly recommended if you're looking for a tasty punjabi food. Grateful to had dinner tonight 😋 remind me my mom recipe. Great and kind couple working very hard to make you happy and feed you home made food.

A little difficult to find (we walked past the sign twice, but we can be a bit blind!), Darwin Tandoor is tucked away in the side street by Alfonsino's. A small (3 tables) family-run place, I imagine most people get takeaway, but my partner and I quite enjoyed dining "in". Now, we've been to many Indian restaurants, and I have to say the food here is exceptional. Be comfortable with a bit of a wait to enjoy your food fresh (or maybe order ahead if you prefer). We had the butter chicken, goat curry (Fri/Sat special!), and garlic naan. All were delicious, and I would say downright spectacular. So whether you enjoy dishes tried and true, or something a little off the beaten track, you will love the cuisine from this lovely family. I hope this restaurant will only grow, and I look forward to them being the biggest Indian restaurant in town the next time I'm in Darwin.

Best Indian Food in Darwin! 😋 Not just the location and ambience but also the quality of the food (fresh and authentic) is exemplary. 🥂 Owner lady is so full of enthusiasm and serves her food with love and passion.💮🌼❤️ Fresh and Delicious, (especially the chapati and paranthas) reminds me of home 🏠

Absolutely delicious food cooked fresh. Fresh garlic naan were the best. Best Indian food we have eaten in a very long time. Great service too. The laneway seating is a little noisy and busy but only to be expected given the location of this little hidden gem. Wish we could go back for more but we have to return home tomorrow.

We were craving indian food and when we looked up the best Indian in Darwin, Darwin Tandoor came up. They lived up to their rating with an absolutely delicious meal, super friendly service, happily accommodating dietary requirements (some dishes are vegan, dairy and/or gluten free) and my partner said the naan bread was sensational. Definitely try this place if you haven't already!

Definitely go here! Good price for amazing flavour. It's a "hole-in-the-wall" restaurant with outdoor Food Court seating (not dine‐in). I was happy to see AUTHENTIC butter chicken (not artificially coloured fluorescent orange). Delicious, fresh, handmade, rolled and cooked Chapati. All curries are made fresh with no preservatives and worth the wait. You can choose your level of 🌶🌶🌶. Good serving size and well-priced. It was delicious, fresh, spicy, and flavour-full... with friendly service!

I’ve had the pleasure of dining at Darwin Tandoor many times, and every bite of my meal is always an exquisite journey of flavors. It's evident that they put delicate attention into each dish, resulting in a scrumptious experience. The service at Darwin Tandoor is truly amazing. The owners are always attentive and go above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking authentic Indian cuisine. I've sampled many dishes here, and they are all delicious, but my absolute favorites are the different varieties of naan, the creamy butter chicken, and the flavorful beef vindaloo. Each dish is a burst of distinct tastes that transport you to India itself. To top it off, I was fortunate to have the genius behind the kitchen come out and pose for a picture. It was a personal touch that made the evening even more special. I can't wait to return to Darwin Tandoor for another delightful meal!

I’ve eaten Indian food in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide and I can say with great authority that this is 100% genuine Indian Cuisine. Great value and BYO with a liquor land in touching distance.

Had dinner yesterday at Darwin Tandoor - bought butter chicken medium and 2 naans. Exceptionally delicious and extremely authentic tasting food. A family run restaurant with food made to order. Freshly made garlic and butter naans were soft and delicious. Nominal price point, a must try place if you are visiting Darwin. It’s a small outlet but well maintained surroundings. Food tastes better than 5 ⭐️

I ate Chicken tikka masala, Basmati rice and Cheese naan in this restaurant. It was so delicious and owner was very friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Best Indian restaurant in Darwin.

These dishes are stunning! It's my first time here, and I'm thoroughly impressed with this place. 😋 I opted for medium spiciness in both the curry and biryani, and they weren't too spicy, but certainly made my mouth water and my heart beat faster. 🤤 I'll definitely be bringing some friends next time! 🤗

A very authentic Indian food ai Darwin city. We ordered Briyani, butter chicken curry, palak paneer (spinach cheese), some naan, masala chai and mango lassi. The naan were soft and flavourful, they went very well with the dishes we ordered. It has been a long time since we had such a hearty Indian meal. The food is prepared with so much pride and quality ingredients. I can even taste fresh mango in the mango lassi. We will certainly return the next time when we are craving for an Indian cuisine for dinner!

We thoroughly enjoyed our freshly cooked meal, it was delicious. It consisted of Garlic and Cheese Nan bread, Lamb Rogan Josh and Chicken Biryani. We will make every effort to return before going home to Perth.

Great spot in a little ally. The owners were so nice and they have their son washing and serving - a real family business. The food was beautifully cooked and was nicely hot. Well worth a visit..

Absolutely delicious food with fantastic and authentic flavours! We had the lamb biryani, goat curry, chick pea curry and lentil dal, rounded off with some naan - all incredible. I can see how Darwin Tandoor has 4.9 stars on here - very well deserved. A real gem just off the main street!

My oldest friend in life, introduced me to this local gem. Every time he visits we eat delicious Authentic Indian cuisine, right here in the Darwin CBD. This is a truly local Darwin family business, and a little bit of heaven in my own backyard. On the Coles side of Mitchell street. My personal favourite dish is the Goat Curry, the meat is so tender it falls off the bone and you could cut it with a blunt spoon. Always cooked with love and served with a beautiful smile. Darwin Tandoor never disappoints, if you are looking for Authentic spices and full flavour with value for money this is for you eat here or take away. Monday to Saturday 4:30pm to 9pm

Im a big fan of Indian food and tend to be quite critical if I feel the need to be. I came to this restaurant simply off the recommendations of many people, all saying it was incredible. I order the beef vindaloo and it was spectacular! Such a delicious dish, the beef just melted in my mouth, absolutely lovely meal, I heavily recommend this restaurant!

Honestly the best Indian food I’ve had in darwin, everything is made fresh and has a beautiful blend of flavours. The service was amazing, they were so kind. Such a lovely, family oriented restaurant.

I got the butter chicken medium spice. Very tasty curry. The only downside is the small portion size, around 150g of chicken in the curry. Naan very good and rice was cooked well. Great meal all together but wouldn't say it is worth spending 30$ on especially considering the location.

Best Indian food I’ve ever had. I love that it’s family run and a hidden gem. If I was from Darwin and living here I would come here all the time. The food is so so fresh and great value for money !! Wow

My son said the butter chicken was the best chicken dish he’s ever had! Excellent Indian in a fun alley setting. The chef made everything mild on request, so my kids loved it.

We saw it and knew that we had found the right place for the perfect dinner. The food was fresh, flavoursome and beautiful. The flavours rolled into the food and it was authentic. It was also very affordable. It was all round a great introduction to Darwin.

Awesome and authentic Indian cuisine. The dishes were all really nice and came in large serves. I really enjoyed the naan, so good. The lady at the counter was really friendly and put up with all my questions. My only issue is that I did not get a chance to go back before leaving Darwin.

Amazing food and excellent host. So friendly a family we felt like home during the short trip to Darwin. Really sumptuous food and tastes homely. Thank you very much for being there for the Indians. Very reasonable price to top it for the quality of food.

I was walking around looking for something special and I found this gem. A family run business, looks like the husband does the cooking and his wife handles the customers. The food exceeded my expectations. Really fresh, really delicious and tasty. I’ve eaten a lot of Indian food (in India and Sydney) and this is one of the nicest meals I’ve had. Great breads also. You must try it out .

I've cooked better butter chicken than this and I'd rate mine a 5 out of 10 so pretty average. It had hardly any flavour, very little chicken and the gravy had the consistency of water. Nice Naan though.

  • 5/5 Natasha L. 2 years ago on Google
SO good. The owners are lovely and prepare each dish fresh for you, which meant I could adjust what I had to suit my weak spice tolerance! I had the shahi paneer which had fantastic flavours. Very reasonably priced, good portion sizes and open early for dinner.

Second time eating here over the last week. Authentic Indian food. Loved the butter chicken. Quite possibly one of the best Indian restaurants I have eaten at. And I eat a lot of Indian food. Highly recommended...
