Incredibly comprehensive museum showing the hard work of the Norwegian people following the surprise attack by the Germans. Lots of source material. Fascinating. Well worth the visit.

An interesting exhibition including aspects of the heavy water war in Rjukan. Helpful staff and some great views over Aker Brygge. Some of the lights on the dioramas were not working.

Norway's Resistance Museum presents the history of the civilian and military resistance against the German occupation from 1940 to 1945. The entrance was free because of the Victory day

Hidden gem. Small but mighty museum on the grounds of Akerhus Castle. We went immediately when they opened and had the entire museum to ourselves. Numerous artifacts and interesting exhibits about Norway's role in WWII.

The topic is very interesting but the place is in desperate need for renovation and modernization. Totally outdated exhibitions

A lot interesting points of Norwegian history during ww2 can be found on the place. Around 1h is enough to go through all exhibits.

Quite a nice little museum charting the history of German occupation and Norwegian resistance throughout the 2nd World War. The exhibition is organised chronologically from 1940 to 1945. You get a brief English written guide with your entrance ticket, but there is almost no written English around the museum itself.

This museum is a must visit for everyone and it has such a wide variety of artifacts and information. There's some fantastic exhibits with very immersive and exciting interactive elements and the small lobby is deceptive as much of the museum is underground. Staff is also extremely friendly and welcoming.

A surprisingly extensive display. Even though I consider myself fairly knowledgeable about WW2 history and have seen my share of museums, I consider this one a museum worth seeing. If just for the unique angle it brings to the war.

A interesting museum depicting the history of the resistance against Norway and Germany alike and has the displays in Norwegian and English. Allow about 45 minutes if you are visiting.

The Norges Hjemmefrontmuseum (Norway Resistance Museum) is on the grounds of the Akershus Fortress and really worth the visit. Although we knew a fair amount about WWII, we didn't know much about the occupation of Norway from 1940-45, and this was really well done. Mostly static displays of documents, but translated into many languages. Virtually the whole country resisted the occupation as they could, and the impact of the exhibit was moving

Excellent and informational museum. Spent three hours in here. Worth the time and money to visit

The Norwegian Resistance Museum is a thoroughly researched and fantastic portrayal of WW2 history! It had loads of first person accounts and records! I learned so much! I had no idea so much went on as it's just not taught as much further west. It was amazing. Worth every minute!

Good displays and many with English text. The Norwegian resistance kept fighting when other European countries did not to the same extent. They deserve to be remembered and the museum does this effectively.

Worth at least an hour or 2 to explore. Just for the scenery, and especially if you're interested in military history.

An excellently thought out museum. In a few places the English translations were a little worn out and hard to read, a few lightbulbs needed replacing in some of the fun miniature displays, but you can figure it all out. A must for anyone interested in ww2 history. When I was there on a Sunday morning it was wonderfully empty and I took my time... about 90 minutes to get thru the multilevel exhibition.

Comprehensive museum detailing the Norwegian resistance. Lots of text and pictures although tough to follow the story at times. As a non-European, learned a lot about the resistance and WWII in Norway, but it was so detailed and localized, not as powerful as it could have been.

Amazing details, photos and artifacts tell the story of Norway's resistance during WWII in both Norwegian and English. I spent an hour here and lost track of time as I became immersed in the information.

Wonderful museum about the Norwegian resistance movement during World War II. It creates a very human experience of what the people here went through.

Amazing important history, well presented, though with limited translation. The museum and all exhibits look as if they were put together 40 or more years ago. It’s too bad this hasn’t been made more prominent and the facility updated.

Very interesting and detailed account of Norway’s actions during World War II.

There's plenty to see in a smallish place. All well laid out. Most of the exhibits had English translation, which added to our experience. It was interesting to find out how the resistance movement worked in Norway.

Great museum! Bigger than it looks. Chronologically organized and routed. Many things are translated to English, however much is still either in Norwegian or German, and so Google Translate is quite helpful.

Incredible museum, well laid out with lots of physical objects and dioramas to go along with. Lots of reading to do, majority of it has english translations alongside.

A great museum which educated us on all things Norwegian resistance. But I would say some of the exhibits were missing pieces/information. It can take between 1-2 hours to see it all. Included in the Oslo pass.

A few details to add to the other reviews, writing as a visitor from the USA who understands a moderate amount of Norwegian. One reviewer suggested an hour to go through; I think one could easily spend more time than that. Exhibits generally have some English explanation, but the experience will be better if you know some Norwegian. A small book is available at the end of the tour for about 50kr (or about $5 at the time of my visit)--this is in black and white but seems to have more extensive English text than the exhibits themselves. Having the book really improves the overall experience and gives you something to refer to later. Note: this museum is clearly most important for the Norwegian people, so I'm not complaining that there "should have been more" English text. It's wonderful that there's enough to make the exhibits understandable for those of us who aren't fluent in Norwegian.

An amazing place to visit and follow the track of Norwegian Resistance during WW2

WWII was not a good time for Norway... It is one thing to be in a war, another to be occupied. The museum documented the story of the Norwegians plight.... Very informative...

Good museum if you're interested in WW2. Attention to detail in the models is excellent! Free with the Oslo Pass.

A well laid out and very informative museum, which gives a fascinating look at Norway's formidable resistance movement in World War Two, and the sacrifices and struggles of the very brave men and women who made up that movement. Filled with hundreds of authentic relics from occupied Norway and the resistance movement along with an extensive collection of photographs. Well worth a visit.

Very nice and interesting. This is an important museum on an important subject which shed light on the resistance. We should all spare some time on this dark chapter of our history. Don't skip it!

This is very old museum, there are a lot of wonderful views from here to Oslo bay. You can see many boat, ship arrived and left. You can waiting here to take a sunset from the top of Castle. I have spent a lot of time here. It is so exciting.
