We stayed at the Hard Rock the week of Dec 7, 2022 with a large group. The hotel needs some renovation but everything was super clean! The beach is a Pacific coast beach so you have to remember it’s not going to be crystal clear Caribbean water. But it was clean and well kept in the lounge areas. The food was much better than most all inclusive, with the burgers and Mexican food being the highlight. What stood out most for us was the excellent service! The staff was so kind and attentive. We took a son with Down syndrome and the staff went out of their way to accommodate him and make his trip a great experience. They did this for every guest. I would go back to this hotel just based on the excellent staff and customer service. Well done!

We went to this resort with our teenage sons and other family members. Had an amazing experience at this resort. From Valeria at concierge to Diane at the beach and pool, very helpful. I specifically want to give big thanks to Valeria for helping us when my brother left some stuff in his locker and had to go back and get it. She went out of her way to make sure we get our belongings. She was helpful at every step and answered my messages. They had shows every night that kids enjoyed, good food, great room service. Lots of staff around to help you and Lots of activities at the beach. Thankyou Hard Rock, you never seem to disappoint.

I've been to Vallarta several times but it's my first visit here at the hard Hard Rock. Rooms are nice, the hotel itself looks a little old. We have great weather which is a plus but the service has not been that good as I would have expected. Been sitting close to the pool and no waiter has passed by in 40 mins ++. I feel ignored and have to go for my own drinks. Last night's Italian dinner also didn't convince me that much. Appetizers were good but the main dish (cannelloni) did not really have much flavor neither had my lemonade. Alcoholic drinks have great quality. The pizza as a snack does not taste good. Overall i think the price per night is not really worth it and i don't think i would come back. I still have 2 days left and i hope my experience gets better. Its a little far from the center and the beach is not really nice, but with all inclusive you would mostly stay at the hotel anyway.

Hotel had a nice Hard Rock Vibe. Ocean view rooms had the smallest balcony ever and more trees than actual ocean view. Booked with free shuttle but was told I need to pay for service since I got lower rate on room. Called Vacation service twice and they couldn't look reservation with confirmation. Rude customer service on phone. We dined at all the restaurants while visiting and most of the family was not happy with the food. Buffet was a 1 out of 5 and Food service was so slow numerous times. Guest was laying down towels at 7am so pool and beach area was booked by 11am. Lack of night life for a party hotel. Over 1 hour wait to the only place that had good food. Too many people looking to sell a future vacation package. Rock star store was overpriced

We had a fantastic vacation until we came home. We just found out our son got Ecoli . We stayed here for 7 nights. Did the all inclusive. The drinks were amazing. The food was alright. Pickleball was on point. Great shows at night etc. Staff were fantastic. Didn’t have to go anywhere. Currently watching my son deal with pain from our trip. I probably won’t be returning to this hotel. Trips to the ER aren’t fun. Can’t wait to see all the medical bills. Rooms were below average. For a big name like Hard rock. More sanitation should be required. Please send us an email address we can provide this email to. Thanks

My family and girlfriend stayed at the Hard Rock for a week in January and could not have had a better time! Transportation to and from the hotel was very easy, the drinks were great, and the service and shows were awesome every night! My only minor complaint was the TVs in the rooms couldn’t stream anything and you couldn’t cast from your phone (I really wanted to watch Coco one night while very intoxicated). The food was good for the most part. Some restaurants are much better than others, but it’s worth trying them all. Huge shout out to Angel on the service team. He took great care of my family all day on the beach. Alex from the entertainment staff was another highlight for us too. He played soccer and volleyball with us almost every day and is an awesome MC for the shows as well. Can’t wait to come back and visit again!

We were here in the beginning of Nov. for a family wedding which was stunning and so beautiful. We stayed for 6 days with our 3 kids (9yrs, 6yrs, and 1yr). We spent most of our time at the pool, my older boys loved the water slide, and there was a small water slide in the wade pool for the baby! Valery, Paulina, and Alexander at the towel area were always super helpful. The lifeguard at the slide was also great, he was on top of safety and quickly able to clean up my son's scraped knee. My boys also loved the kids club and spoke so highly of, Ale, who staffed the kids club while we were there. We had so many great waiters and waitresses that I can't remember everyone's name but never once was it anything but perfect service. Everyone spoke both English and Spanish so practicing our Spanish was fun. The evening 9:30 shows were all great, my kids loved the fire dancers. The rock band party was great and the Micheal Jackson impersonator was spot on. I used the gym a few mornings as I could run on the beach because of all the baby turtles hatching and migrating to the ocean, I mean I could run but I was scared to not notice the many turtles and step on one. The only two things that I didn't like was the tiles floors in the bedroom, but I am a carpet or rug person. Also the kiddie pool got quite dirty and in 6 days I only saw it cleaned once. That did not stop my family or I playing in that pool, but if I have to comment on an area of improvement, it would be attempting to clean the kiddie pool at least once every 24hrs or even multiple times if staff is available. Overall, we would come back again! Hard Rock Vallarta was wonderful!

The property is nice but there are too many kids, the pools are filled with kids. The music at the pool is for younger people. The buffet was okay over the food could have been warmer. The Japanese restaurant was very good. The bartenders and staff were very good everywhere in the property. The live music was very good in the sports bar. The property is clean and the live music is good when they have rock bands on the property. Great property would be better without kids

A great week at Hard Rock Vallarta! Let me just start by saying that you can always find something to complain about with anything, but we have been going to Mexico for 15 years and this place is definitely one we would come back to. To be clear, this is not a 5 diamond resort, so you should not have those expectations coming in. Yes it is expensive but so is everything else right now, and this is definitely several steps up from the cheapest all-inclusive resorts. Keep in mind that this is the Hard Rock, so they are trying to produce a fun atmosphere. If you want tranquility you might want to go to an adults only (no kids) resort. The food was great, lost of good options every day for all meals. Usually at these types of places we will take a plate of lots of things and a few of the items would not be good, but that didn’t happen here. No reservations required for dinner as of April 6th, and we were able to walk in at 8:00 pm for our family of 4 with no issues all 8 nights we were there. Israel at Ciao Breakfast was such a joy every morning, and he was very efficient with any of our needs. His supporting staff of Lalo and Brian were also wonderful. Yes you have to wake up early to get a spot by the main pool, but if you show up at 11:00 am they start to clear any of the “no shows” and you can grab a spot. Salvador and Eric by the pool were absolutely amazing. They would help move chairs around and bring umbrellas and all of that good stuff. They made our trip so much more enjoyable, and they deserve major kudos. They work so hard and long hours in the sun, please be nice to them and appreciative. Our trip would not have been the same without them, no joke. Also, Angel and Elizabeth serving drinks by the pool were awesome. Probably checked on us 30 times a day to see if we needed anything. We just tipped them at the end of each day so not to fuss with cash for each round. All in all this place was everything we needed. If you are the kind of person who typically finds something to complain about, I’m sure you will find something here. But just relax and remember that everyone is working VERY hard to ensure you and your family have a great vacation experience.

The beach here is amazing. The pools are nice. Food is average. Beds are comfortable. The customer service was very poor. Besides out wait staff at restaurants everyone was rude and truly acted as if we were an annoyance. In a restroom next to a restaurant I watched housekeeping mop the floor and pick up the mop and wipe down the counters; with the same mop! We have never been treated this way at any other HR. Even when we brought it to their attention they chose not to correct it. We will be back to PV but prob choose a different resort.

Customer service was not consistent. Some of the servers were great while others was not friendly. We also had a really bad odor in our room that came and went. It smelled like sewer one night and sulfur another night. We also had a leak in the room. Leak was resolved relatively quickly but I would say that the hotel needs maintenance and remodel.

Staff was great, but food was hit and miss. Member dinner was fantastic! Tiny balcony. A lot smaller resort than other Hard Rocks. Not as many people. Overall, it was a good trip

We loved our All-inclusive experience! All types of food were offered. They had so many gluten-free options, labels that told you what exactly was in the food, lots of drink options (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). The grounds were beautiful! A kids and teen club was available. All the staff members were friendly, polite, and professional! The entertainment was also so nice! My only criticism would be the lack of space in the bathroom for toiletry bags and such. Perhaps more counter space or shelves would be nice.

The beach at this resort is spectacular! We enjoyed it every day, early morning to sunset. Walking it was easy and the water was amazing. Our only negative is that the hotel was very actively hosting a large beach volleyball tournament while we were there and they gave up the entire beach front to courts. This meant that players were always in front of you regardless of where you sat on the beach, there was no real area for other guests to play pickup catch, frisbee, soccer etc in the sandy area and accessing the water from the beach lounge areas required maneuvering through and around the courts and players. The hotel should show greater regard for the rights of non-volleyball guests by simply designating an area of beach front that is court-free. Be aware of this when you’re booking. We will try to avoid this tournament in the future if the hotel management does not protect the beach rights and benefits of all guests. I agree with an earlier comment that the shower doors in the rooms are difficult to slide. We also had issues with our tv glitching and various stations freezing. We mentioned this a couple times but it didn’t seem to get better. Having said all of the above, this was a wonderful holiday for my husband and me, made especially enjoyable by the outstanding staff at the hotel. We were fortunate enough to have the daily support of a butler team, Geraldo, Francisco, Israel and Uri. Their combined attention, assistance and professionalism was remarkable and every request we had was so pleasantly facilitated, thanks to them. Additionally, every time we saw either Silvia or Lilibeth (whom we met at checkin) we were asked we needed anything. We were very appreciative of these interactions. Our beach servers, Diane and Zo were really incredible! So attentive, positive, hard-working and friendly. They are terrific ambassadors of this resort and took great care of us. We were also grateful for the support and again, very professional, assistance of the pool supervisor, Berny. Alma, at towels is a gem. Her “have a beautiful day” wish to guests was heart-warming! One of the daytime outdoor cleaning staff also caught our attention…Jessica. She was very quiet and unobtrusive as she went about her duties but so pleasant when interactions permitted. Everything under her care was done well.

The resort is beautiful and the fact you can get in the ocean is a PLUS. You can not get in the ocean at all of the Hard Rocks due to water currents and safety. However, be mindful of the season as summer it is super hot and rainy at times. We have been in December, March, and July- March seems to be the most enjoyable. No rain, heat during the day and breezy in the evenings! The food is amazing! Of all the Hard Rocks, this one has the best food!!! We had a room issue when arrived, but I will admit it was quickly addressed and we were moved to a new room. If you like to workout, keep in mind the gym is small and gets packed quickly so I recommend going around 7 am if your schedule allows. The gym is open from 6am to 6pm. Last but not least, if you are LUCKY ENOUGH to have Butlers Uri and Gerardo, you will have an amazing time!!! They are attentive, polite, responsive, and super helpful. They were genuinely kind! If you can ask for them specifically, do so!!!

The personnel was extremely unhelpful and the hotel has MAJOR maintenance issues that won’t be resolved during your stay even if you bring them up to the personnel. I can’t believe that a multi million dollar hotel chain such as Hard Rock is not able to give its hotels proper maintenance. From the moment we arrived there was issues. First, the room was supposed to be clean and ready at 3:00 PM but when we arrived at approximately 3:15 PM it wasn’t ready. Keep in mind that if you arrive before the check-in time then you are to be charged extra fees, so it’s ridiculous that when you arrive at the specific time they tell you to check in your room is not ready and you don’t get no credits for that whatsoever. Secondly, we had problems entering the room and had to go to the reception 3 times, which is A LOT, in order to try to figure out why we couldn’t access our room freely. We were not happy with all the trouble and asked for a room swap but the personnel refused to do it, claiming the hotel was at full capacity when I could clearly see from the amount of people outside this wasn’t true at all. Another issue with the room is that it kept getting flooded during showers. Later we found out that the personnel always has issues with this one room yet they keep assigning it to guests. We also had an issue with another room we were staying at. If the toilet was used by other guests in their own room then we would hear a terrible loud noise coming from the valves of our own toilet. This was especially irritating as it would trigger at like 3 AM when we were sleeping, it’s just not a good experience to not be able to sleep properly while on vacation. In terms of food and drinks, we would say that there was some hidden gems that were great but a lot of the drinks and food were subpar. We went to the Brazilian steakhouse inspired restaurant and the meat was surprisingly good, the sides were nothing out of this world but not incredibly terrible, again, they were just okay. The Italian restaurant was okay as well, I ordered a ribeye medium rare and was served a very rare one instead, they did take it back to cook it longer but it ended up being overcooked and with a very carbon tasting sear. All desserts we tried during this trip were extremely awful, the cakes, brownies and other pastries were dry, even ice cream was low quality, almost tasted like medicine. The all you can eat breakfast and lunch was full of okay and terrible food, specially scrambled eggs seemed very hard to get right and were always overcooked. The food would spend too much time sitting on the counters so it wasn’t hot and became soggy. Again, there was a few hidden gems in the all you can eat as well as the restaurants but overall I would rate the food experience a 2 out of 5. The alcoholic beverages didn’t taste very great, I think they were watered down. Besides, they don’t give you straws so it’s hard to drink, while I think it’s a great way to reduce waste they should at least warn the guests so we can bring our own reusable straws. There was 2 hot tubs in the hotel, one of them was very cold (85 F) while the other one was sorta hot (90 F). Both of them were broken as the jets were not working on either hot tub. The tubes were filled with sand, and while that’s the guests’ fault for not following the rules of cleaning properly before using the pools, it should be the hotel’s responsibility to give proper and constant maintenance to these hot tubs and obviously fix any problems that happen so every guest can enjoy their experience. Overall, won’t be coming back to this hotel and I won’t recommend it to people. This business needs to tend to their customers and make sure we are happy instead of cutting corners to maximize profits. Considering the fact that the hotel is not cheap, the quality and value of the service you get is not worth the money. Keep looking.

Staff were very nice and accommodating. Alex (Pink Floyd), pool security, is probably one of the hardest workers there. He was kind and catered to everyone’s needs. The resort itself is older and on the smaller side. While the resort was clean and the views spectacular, the food options were VERY limited. With only 2-3 dinner choices at night, and buffet not open daily, it made for more nights of room service than we wanted. It would be of benefit to guests that are unable to get reservations at the select open restaurants to offer the buffet option nightly. The entertainment staff, bartenders, servers, hotel staff were all excellent!

It's a good hotel, and as mentioned all inclusive which is worth it if you get a discount. It represents the brand well with fun shows, framed guitars, well chosen music, pretty good food, a nice beach-side location (outside of town), and friendly service. Its not a stunning beach but its pretty nice. My main gripe is information is hard to get. They cycle some QR codes through channel 3 on the TV (but not all items of interest) and it gets old waiting for the codes and it's only that day's info, hence it's hard to plan. For example, there may be yoga tomorrow morning but you won't know until the day. Certain restaurants may be closed but again no advanced notice and no where to look it up. A better source of information would be a website with a calendar and menus. In addition my TV was in Spanish and there was no obvious way to change it. I don't want to ask room service for help with things that should be obvious. Luckily these issues should be easy to fix.

To say we had an amazing stay would be an understatement! This hotel thinks of each fine detail to ensure that your stay is the very best! Carlos in entertainment is absolutely an amazing person! Him and his team are top notch next level amazing. Always have a smile on their face and always open to giving you a hug , high five or funny smile whenever they see you! Made us feel super special each and every day! Helped my daughter learn to play pool, raced us in kayaks in the ocean , played endless amounts of pool and beach volleyball with my teenager daughter..... You wont find a happier staff and any Mexico resort. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing happy place to call home, thanks again for everything.

We recently enjoyed a week long stay here and it was amazing! It took us 20 minutes to get from baggage claim at the airport to the front desk of the resort, within 2 minutes of check in we had drinks. The room was cleaned every single day and everything straightened up and organized. The pool side staff, especially Juan and Elizabeth are on top of things and very attentive. It took 4-5 minutes to receive a poolside drink after ordering it, sometimes it was faster to swim over to the pool bar we didn't mind waiting a few minutes in our chairs either, 4-5 minutes is not a bad wait at all. I got up each morning at 8 to put towels on chairs and usually had my pick of the draw at that time, by 9:30 around half the chairs were claimed but people are always coming and going so it's sometimes easy to get a chair poolside even if you don't get up early. We tried every single restraunt and were most impressed with Zen, the Asian place. Diego and Luis were excellent servers who made the meal very enjoyable! The chop suey was amazing. The theater performances were entertaining and Alex in the bar was quick with the drinks. The pool side entertainment games and contents were really fun and that group of staff members was very high energy. I saw a review saying that 15 drinks was equivalent to one normal drink and that's completely wrong. If anything, the drinks are stronger than normal, the friendlier YOU are the friendlier your bartender will be. We tried a plethora of different drinks and they were all good! Lastly, our boys (7 & 9) had a ton of fun at the kids club doing nature walks, crafts, air hockey, playground, etc. The staff members there were also really friendly and did a great job with all the kids. We felt completely safe with having them there. Thank you to the amazing staff, we can't wait to come back!

I will start off by saying the staff was friendly. However, the property is old and would benefit from renovations and a new plumbing system. Our room smelled horrible like a sewage back up the entire time. The food was unfavorable and my husband and I opted to leave the property to eat. I’d recommend considering new chefs that are experienced in international foods. Lastly, the staff were too aggressive as it pertained to selling Hard Rock memberships. We felt obligated to swiftly walk through the lobby to avoid being solicited by the sales team. Overall, we will not be returning or recommending this property. The property should be rated 2/3 stars as the current rating is misleading. Thank you.

Our stay was fabulous! And as always Lucy steered us right for places to eat in town and drink! Our staff on the beach Elizabeth and Zu you girls are the best!... Food was fabulous!.. yes not every place is perfect... The Mexican fiesta was outside which was hot and sweaty.. don't go unless it's inside for now on.. yes this is an older resort but in my opinion they did try to keep it very clean and up to date.. only one bar... Which got very crowded on the weekend because of weddings..

Fantastic fortnight that our whole family enjoyed. The food and service was impeccable - I read the reviews before so left and wondered how the staff got so many mentions but having stayed it all became clear! Too many to mention but Luis the fantastic sushi chef (he has got the personal touch down to a fine art) and Itzel the concierge really stood out for their fantastic customer service. If you get chance to visit the spa definitely do it - most relaxing experience in a long time. Finally the food was a massive highlight - the restaurants were all superb (ciao and zen were our favourite).

Thank you so much to Alex and all of the pool staff for helping me celebrate my graduation! Our family has come here for 16 years and we have seen so many welcoming faces that transitioned from pool entertainment staff that played with us as kids to become managers. We love seeing all the friendly faces each year. This year they made my celebration extra special. Thank you for all the fun and care! Edit: as I posted this they just delivered special graduation Cap cakes to my room. I’m very thankful for the detail and care they put in to making my trip so special!

Excellent stay! From the coordinated airport transportation to the towel people at the pool, the whole experience was easy, fun and so relaxing. There is pretty much always something to do if you want it but the staff do great at not forcing you to do anything. We tried each restaurant and everyone was great, Frida was probably our favorite and the one we repeated. Room service was quick and always warm or cold. Everyone was so helpful and kind. The rooms could use a little updating but nothing more than esthetics. The town is lovely! We will definitely be coming back.

I recently visited May 3rd thru 7th of 2022. Had visited several times prior to the pandemic and always enjoyed my visits. Upon checking in this time there was a slight glitch which caused a delay in getting checked in. I would have given a 5 rating if we were able to check in right away. Once we got that resolved, everything was great. There are several employees I want to recognize. Elizabeth who served drinks on the beach. She was very attentive to our drink needs and was extremely friendly. She was absolutely great! Danny was also a great drink server. I want to also give kudos to Norma who works in the buffet. She made sure that we had a pleasant dining experience. The room service food servers were extremely pleasant and got the orders right. I wish I had remembered their names. Overall our visit was memorable and we are planning another visit in May 2023.

Waited over an hour for a blow dryer while my hair was wet since the hair dryer in the room didn’t work. They initially put us in the lowest floor but we upgraded (paid to be above ground floor) They really should check if a guest has been to the hotel before because the first floor is beneath the lobby and it feels like a basement. The staff is really nice but they take a while to bring drinks on the poolside and evidently, a hair dryer which I’m waiting for as we speak.. You have to pay for the cabanas on the beach which isn’t typical for Mexico resorts, where you normally just reserve, not pay. Staying here until the 20th and hope it gets better. Don’t think I’d recommend even though it’s only been one day, considering the experience so far.

Great family vacation! Staff were great, they made my family feel welcomed conversating with my one year old son, he had a great time. Location of the sport was perfect, nice breeze and no bugs in site. Food was okay , some of the food was a bit over cooked but other than that they had a nice selection of food choices.

The staff was amazing Uriel, Israel, Francisco, Gerardo our butlers went over and above in accommodating to our needs. There was never a day where they didn’t have contact with us and my family on a personal level to ensure we were more than comfortable, taking care of excursions, dinner plans, car rentals… Amy, our legendary Membership host was always there for us to answer questions, organize our stay, and always checking to make sure we wanted or needed for nothing . Always a beautiful smile and an awesome laugh with every encounter Our beach attendant Diane was the sweetest, most polite lady we have ever met at a resort of any kind Greeted us every day with a smile, great conversation, and always had drinks and snacks to us within minutes of getting on the beach Overall this resort was one of the most personalized, overly accommodating stays we’ve had. Food was great at any restaurant on the resort, servers very polite, greeted you with a smile, attentive and very professional Awesome job guys, would recommend this resort to anyone Thank you for everything Looking forward to our next stay

We stayed at this resort for 7 nights/8 days in early October 2023. We had the most wonderful time. We went with two friends and had the Rock Star Suite with two bedrooms. This suite is truly amazing but the best part of it all was our four butlers, Francisco, Gerardo, Israel, and Uriel. They are truly warm and friendly individuals who couldn’t do enough for us. They made our stay special, and yet for them it seemed natural to do so. The hotel itself is just the right size for us. Yes, there’s walking involved but not like some of the much larger resorts we’ve been to. The restaurants are all nice, have great food, and the wait staff and others are engaging, warm, friendly, and accommodating. The pools are very nice, and the swim-up bar was great. Excursions were fun. We did the ALMA, Rhythms of the Night, which included a boat ride with an open bar, a walk through the jungle to a large amphitheater, a wonderful show with excellent live music and talented performers of all kinds, and then dinner. Great candle-lit jungle atmosphere. We also did a fun snorkeling boat trip to Los Arcos. As for the Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta, we would recommend it to anyone and if you’re lucky, your butler will be one of the terrific guys we had as our butlers.

The experience was great, food and beverages are really good, the beach is nice they have enough space for everybody. They have staff all across the property and they are really friendly. The only con's are in the room, is a tiny room and a tiny bathroom... But since You spent most of time out if the room i will keep the 5 stars. Also location is great there is a supermarket at 5 minutes (walking time) if You forget something is better to go there....

We had a fantastic vacation due to the wonderful people there and to the services they provide. In particular, butlers Uriel, Francisco, and Gerardo were warm and kind—making our stay wonderful. For my husband’s birthday, they arranged a special cake at Fridas, and they decorated our room. There are so many great people there (too many to mention), but we have to give a shoutout to Amy. She is friendly, knowledgeable, and personable. Amy definitely goes above and beyond, as well. Service is excellent, food is delicious, and scenery is beautiful! We loved our time there!

I've traveled a lot and have visited many all inclusive resorts as a member of the hard rock I must say that I'm not impressed with is resorts. The rooms are small and out dated. Compared to other hard rock locations this is definitely on the bottom of the list and personally would not return to this location. And would rate this location a 3 star 🌟 at best.
