My experience was a mix of impressions. The location is truly beautiful, with sea views. However, my experience with the wine waiter was less than satisfactory. As soon as we sat down at the table, he asked us what wine we wanted in a somewhat grumpy way, as if we should have decided in the first 5 minutes. Then I asked for his recommendation and he answered me in the worst way when I chose the only wine that was not on the menu saying "did you hear me mention that wine in the options I gave you?" 😐 Another aspect that perplexed me was the charging policy for fish. You were supposed to pay by the weight of the fish, the menu mentions the price per 100 grams and the minimum order is 300 grams. However my fish was clearly smaller than my boyfriend's and we both received a bill of €36 each, which seemed like a pretty high price considering the portion I received. From the reviews it seemed like a nice place, but for us it was a tourist trap, even when my mother tongue is Spanish. Despite these disappointments, the overall quality of the food made the experience acceptable. However, I would expect better customer service and a fairer pricing policy in the future.

The location of this restaurant is unbeatable, right at Playa de las Canteras. If you come in for an early dinner you might even see the sunset. Waiters there are very experienced and even if food is simple (as it’s in the Canary Islands traditions), they care for their customers as they do in fine dining restaurants. I loved the pulpo, that green sauce was great. I also loved the fish soup. I found the paella average (it wasn’t cooked at the moment, but I knew it as I ordered a menu option), and also wasn’t too impressed with the figs parfait. What I didn’t like was the big salad, which came with an entire onion which I basically had to cut myself (it was peeled of course, but not really distributed in the salad). The vinaigrette was also simple oil and vinegar, which, for a restaurant of this standard, I feel it could have been elevated into a proper vinaigrette. Also, having gone alone and looking forward to reading, I found this wasn’t really possible. Food came quite early, so It was more eating than actually sitting with my thoughts. The price is affordable (the pulpo was just 11.50) and completely justified. Still, the quality is really good as the restaurant has a long tradition, and I recommend it!

We had two amazing dinner experiences at La Marinera: once lunch, once dinner! Inpeccable service with kind, knowledgeable staff and the fresh fish was 10/10! Special shout out to the waiter who spoke Dutch and served us so kindly! We loved how they come to your table to show you the fish fresh and then prepare it for you. You pay per 100 grams, which to us shows how much knowledge and wisdom they put into this concept (and the prices are great btw!). The wine was also amazing, we recommend the one local to Gran Canaria! And the view, especially during lunch, is amazing! We recommend a reservation because both locals and tourists know this spot well!!

The place is good with nice views of the city. The fish was fresh but the portions were very small the taste not something special.

Amazingly fresh and good seafood restaurant in Las Palmas recommended by locals 🌴in Canaries Islands ! Right ont he edge of the beach 🏖 very well located with beautiful view, you can recognize the restaurant by his signal outside, a boat that is lit at night. This restaurant has been recommended to me by a local and I was not disappointed ! I ordered octopus 🐙 shrimp and steamed 🦑 calamars as I cannot eat fry. They adapt to you need which is great 👍🏻 They have a lot of different dishes which is great 👍🏻 it was very tasty. You do her charge for the bread and sauce that get served to you so be careful ! The price is pretty reasonable as well As the portions.

I gave them chance since the fish restaurant in the neighbourhood I used to go was fully booked, and unfortunately I was disappointed... food is tasteless and it was probably the worst culinary experience I had in Las Palmas during my 1 month stay. I hate to say that, but this restaurant got potential but they must change the kitchen

Somewhat disappointing, pictures online looked much better than the food! This place has become very touristy. We were shown a fresh uncooked fish and what we were served was no where near that fish! Great location.

Food was good. Price far too high for the food. We paid approximately 90 Euros for fish and beer.

Very busy popular fish restaurant! Book in advance or be prepared to wait outside at busy times. Octopus and salad were great. Paella rice not as expected - the grains werent like usual Paella rice that you get in Spain, more like long grain rice, and not a lot of seafood in it but tasty nonetheless.

Great for eating fish! I recommend the parrot fish, it's local and delicious. The service is very kind, old school professionalism. We also ordered fried octopus, 8/10, not great, not terrible, worth a try.

Very good paella, lots of seafood, impressively served on a large plate. Although the interior of the restaurant leaves much to be desired but the location alone compensates for everything. I was surprised to have an appetizer added to my bill, which I received from the restaurant while waiting for the dish, without ordering it at all 🤔

The restaurant location is right by the beach and away from the busyness while you can still enjoy the great view. They have a huge menu of delicious options you can choose from. The staff were very English-friendly and kind towards tourists and menu was available in a lot of languages, so was grateful for their services and meal.

Great place for paella in Las Palmas - of course, it’s a touristy spot with the menu in all major European languages. But the waiters are fun and friendly, the paella is absolutely fresh and the prices are - in times of inflation - still quite attractive, having spent 22€ each for a paella, mineral water, bread and gratuity. A good and uncomplicated spot directly at the ocean!

Good location but unless you reserve a seat in the front ocean facing part you get shuffled in the back room even if the front is almost empty, food was ok though but nothing stood out.

The paella was really good, rice perfectly cooked, flavourful and packed with seafood! Starters were all delicious. Good wines. Very friendly service. We got a table next to the ocean, it was a great decision to come to this restaurant.

Very nice food with excellent views to the sea and fair prices. Fast service too. You might want to book ahead on weekends though.

Amazing place to see the sunset! The team is very nice and the food was served quickly. We had many types of shrimps, octopus and langouste and all of them were good. We also had the clams and I found that they were a bit salty to my taste. For sure you should try the grill octopus. This is a very romantic place to bring your future wife but I would change the color of the light for something more warm. Thanks for the great meal!

Ordered the lobster with rice for two people and the lobster was fresh and the taste of the rice was great. The reason why I didn’t give a 5-star rating is because the sauce with the rice was too salty and we received bread as a starter and I’m not sure if this is common but where I’m from, if you give someone a starter they didn’t ask for, it usually is free.

Great setting right on the shore. Fantastic Garlic prawns and a huge selection of fish. Meat is cooked on a charcoal grill. Highly recommended.

    1. We were lied to that all tables were reserved. 2. A drunken, shouting group of guests was tolerated for 2 hours. 3. The clattering in the kitchen made normal conversation impossible. 4. The food was tasteless and not very fresh. 5. The waiter was unfriendly and not competent. I came on Friday evening 7/1/22 with two adult children. We are all fully vaccinated against Covid and even have a booster shot. The restaurant was recommended to us at the hotel. We wanted to sit in the front room and the room was almost empty. The waiters lied to us and said everything was reserved and that we can only sit right next to the kitchen in the second room. There was continuous terrible noise coming from the kitchen - someone was throwing cutlery into a metal box with rage. We could not have a normal conversation. Three tables away, a group of drunken guests screamed for 2 hours and even after our request, the waiter did not react. Our waiter was annoyed, unfriendly and dismissive of us. The tuna tartar was not fresh in taste and colour. The fried kidneys were hard and tasteless. The rest was average in taste and quality and extremely overpriced. After our meal, we requested o talk to the head waiter about what happened, and especially where we were seated. He told us that there were no reservations for the front room, but they did not want to serve the guests in that room so that the waiters would not have to walk far. That is the reason, they lied to us. There were 5 tables occupied throughout the restaurant between 18:00 and 20:00. After reading several negative comments with subsequent arrogant responses from the owner ("from what you write, we have serious doubts that you were in our restaurant" or "we do not agree with your statements and fortunately not with the thousands of tourists who visit us every year") I also decided to comment on this restaurant to warn more thousands of tourists.

Amazing food! We had the hard shell clams, delicious prawns and grilled fish (Sama) recommended by the staff. The setting is also beautiful, right on the water.

I'm not sure why we have been recommended this place. Even though the paella was tasteful, it was really lacking of seafood in it. One mussel and one gambas per person it's really ridiculous! No to mention, they'll charge you for "bread and salsa" that you didn't even order...

🫤 Overpriced & slow service. The view is good, but the food was really under appreciated. Food was nothing special, and the chips that could be one of the basic were too much oily and undercooked.
