Great experience, no pretence here Fresh sushi in a variety of ways, the spider sushi is well worth trying, along with the marinated tuna on s bed of avocados and mangos

The Good, The Bad, and the Mayo-y Pros: -High-quality fish and rice -Excellent care and treatment of ingredients Cons: -Confusing and incomplete online menu -Limited availability of listed menu items -Frustrating ordering experience -Medicore sake selection Detailed Review: I dined at Fuji Restaurant last Saturday, and I have mixed feelings about the experience. Firstly, let me praise where praise is due: the quality of the fish was exceptional. Both the rice and fish were obviously chosen and prepared with care, and this was evident in every bite. However, the dining experience left much to be desired. The menu is accessible via a QR code, and it's full of abbreviations and lacks details on ingredients and inclusions, especially when it comes to Maki rolls. To make matters worse, approximately 50% of the items listed on the menu were unavailable. As for the daily specials, the waiter had to list them verbally, which not only took time but also became a source of frustration for both parties when we sought clarification. When it came to the types of raw fish available, the options were limited to tuna, salmon, and a white fish. These were prepared mostly as aburi nigiri (lightly seared) or incorporated into Maki rolls. Another point of contention was the copious amount of mayonnaise used in almost all dishes. While this may be a treat for some, it was a turn-off for me. The lack of menu detail, coupled with a confusing verbal menu and an abundance of preparations I didn't care for, made the ordering experience far from smooth. To top it all off, the Sake we ended up ordering—our second choice since the one we originally wanted was unavailable—was expensive and didn't meet our expectations. In summary, Fuji Restaurant has the potential for greatness, given their ability to source and prepare quality ingredients. However, they seriously need to improve their menu clarity and availability, and perhaps consider offering a broader range of preparations to cater to different tastes. Would I go back? Maybe, but only after checking if there have been improvements in the areas highlighted.

I come to have some dinner for myself, but unfortunately the waiters tell me that they’re fully booked. I ask if I can take a seat by the bar or when it’s possible to get a table where they tell me 10pm (I came 9pm). Meanwhile some other guests (they were 2 persons without reservation) enter the restaurant and they’re immediately served and located to a table. I think it’s a bad way to treat a solo guest on the premise of being one person only. This however is not the first time I have experienced this unkindness from a restaurant before and I strongly appeal to the staff to find another attitude and solution to this matter.

Food is fresh and tasty and the service is effective and nice. Unfortunately it is very noisy inside, it is almost impossible to hear anything or enjoy the food.

We went here the first time a year ago and we were very impressed with the quality of food. We followed the waiter's recommendations back then, and some of the highlights were the tuna carpaccio, the ceviche and the foie nigiri. Came back again today and the experience was more mixed. The tuna tartar was good, but still a bit boring. I've had better ones at several other highly rated restaurants in Las Palmas. The tuna tataki was excellent, and had much of the same great flavour as the tuna carpaccio a year ago. Our main waiter was very professional and friendly, but the two others less so. Also I find it strange to serve makis with smoked salmon. Given the price level and premium feel of the place, I would expect it to be fresh. I would still strongly recommend to give this restaurant a try, but there are some room for improvement.

Fuji restaurant is one of the best places I have eaten at this year! If you’re in the mood for sushi, this is the place! We really enjoyed the tataki de atún. The service is also on point, we will visit again soon! To make sure you get a table, be sure to make a reservation at least a few days in advance.

Best Sushi we have had!! We found the Fuji restaurant just before we left for our break via google maps. When we arrived at the restaurant we didint know that it was phone booking only. However we were lucky to get a seat after a table shuffle. The service waiter Bader was simply one of the most accomodating and knowlegable waiters... to the point that we never ordered anything ourselves. Bader reccomened every course including the wine. Ever dish was just delicious. The tuna and Truffle carpachio, quail egg with truffle, salmon black garlic and the foie gras are a must!! I am not really one for photoing food however my wife made me as it was art. Again, thank you for your kind service Bader.

I’m speechless. What an experience. I was a walk-in this afternoon and they were completely full but they set me up at the bar. Great wine, AMAZING sashimi, and then they took me on quite the sushi journey...

Possibly the best Japanese meal I’ve had outside of Japan. We had the toro, flambé prawn, lobster roll, seaweed salad and tempura prawn. Yes, too much, but all absolutely delicious.

This is no where near traditional Japanese sushi or Japanese food for that matter .Once again another place in Gran Canaria that didn't get it right. Gran Canaria is not known for the food that's for sure. This place in its hay day was probably wonderful when it was run by a Japanese real sushi chef. If you are looking for authentic Japanese food this is not it . There is no such place in Gran Canaria.

We went for a weekday lunch and it was full. Packed and noisy, so it's not an ideal setting for a business lunch. Tables are rather small and quite close to each other, but thankfully, there are several partitions, making each section slightly more private and a little cosier. One severe complaint of mine is that tea is served in a little uncovered cup, instead of a decent teapot. This puts me off ordering tea next time. The tuna tartar was exquisite, and both California and sushi were good too but however, the tuna maki was very forgettable - rather bland and I didn't feel any love going into it. Reservations are highly advisable.

5/5 stars. The best Japanese food you can find in Canarias. The oldest Japanese restaurant with great and authentic quality food. A little bit pricey, and with just a few available tables. It is worth it, believe me!

5+* for tuna tataki with foie gras and matcha mochi. Keep in mind that maki rolls could be served with smoked salmon. Ask the waiter.

Very decent place - first Japanese restaurant in Spain! however I missed something here - ingredients were very fresh and tasty but tempura dishes were quite heavy and soaking wet. I've heard that they have excellent tuna so next time I will go for that. I recommend you to stay with the fish there: sushi and sashimi were excellent!
