I hope that this place lives forever in my memories because it is wonderful. Very charming whether day or night. My favorite moment in this plaza was the warm night before we left the island, stomach full of tapas and Spanish beer, cool wind, flowers in bloom, moon light shining down, and people all around quietly conversing or playing toss with their dogs. Go make some island memories at Plaza de Santa Ana!

Very nice peaceful clean plaza to hang out in the lovely under-rated Old Town of Las Palmas. Visited during a weekday in early May and very quiet. It was a cloudy day otherwise photos would have been really nice. We visited the cathedral and museum afterwards which is definitely worth the 3 euros.

Plaza de Santa Ana in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is one of the heartbeats of the city’s history and life. This building used to be home for the Town Hall until 1977, when it moved to calle León y Castillo. Now it is the site for the Tourist Information Office (OIT in Spanish) and an important artistic representation of the Canaries and other places, both in terms of pictures and sculptures, including works given to the Town Hall of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria by the Prado Museum in Madrid.

Picturesque square located in the old part of Las Palmas. The whole area is worth a visit - narrow cobblestone streets, colourful colonial-style buildings with wooden balconies, and vibrant squares - a perfect place to admire historic architecture while taking a leisurely stroll.

You can see 8 green metal dogs. They represent the history of the name of Canaries islands. It wasn't from birds that the Canary Islands, known in Spanish as Islas Canarias, got their name, but dogs, or perhaps seals depending on what you believe. The name comes from the Latin word for dog, canaria, and was given by the first Europeans to arrive here

This square is very pretty. It was super nice to walk the streets of the old town. There are some benches where you can rest and if you are lucky you can hear some music from some street artists that will make this place even more magical. If you are in Las Palmas it is a must to viait this place. I strongly recommend it.

It is a lovely square next to the cathedral of Santa Ana in Las Palmas which is surrounded by impressive old buildings . I would recommend visiting the cathedral ,it costs 2€ and you can get on the top and get access to a stunning view of the Plaza de Santa Ana and the city.I'm sure that the elegant architecture and the irresistible energy will make your visit unforgettable. Moreover, there are some nice terrace bars, where you can sit down for anything ranging a glass of wine to a tapa.

Arrive early and enjoy the view from the tower. 10am was great because, being first to enter, the peaceful nature of the building and that sense of spiritual place is self evident. A beautiful building inside and a museum of religious art.

Las Palmos. If you want a break from the pool and fancy some clothes shopping it's pretty good, not great but plenty to look round. My 17 year old daughter was happy. Plenty of cafes and the bus station gets you in and out covering most of the island.

The old city is amazing, just walk around and don’t spend the money to get inside the church.

The staff at Tourist Information are fantastic. Go there first to get everything you need to know about the city to help plan you time. It was carnival when we were there, everyone had made a huge effort, the parade and the people were spectacular.

Great place to visit and a bit move in time, reflect in the heart of GC. I highly recommend tapas mini hamburgers served with selection of Moho sauces. Architecture and surrounding makes a very pleasant snack.

What a wonderful place to visit. After walking in the beautiful cathedral, there is a lovely peaceful garden, a museum and then you can take the lift then up a spiral step to the belfry with a wrap around walkway with fantastic views. Worth a visit.

The whole Vegueta, the historical centar, is nice and picturesque. The square itself is very open and clean with nice views of the church and the city hall.

Very popular in Centro Historico in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. On this square you can see the dogs from which the name of the Canary islands comes. I recommend visiting the cathedral as well - for 2 euro you can get on the top of it and get acess to a stunning view of the Plaza de Santa Ana and the city.

Very nice square in the historic area of Las Palmas. Has lots of benches to sit down on and the church is very impressive there as well.

Nice enough but was quite run down as in there was a lot of graffiti on walls in the area. Seemed to be works going on when we were there. Have seen more impressive cathedrals. Dogs or front more intriguing but there didn't seem to be any thing explaining them. (Turns out they represent the dogs of Gran Canaria which are the national animal and were on the islands before the Spanish settled there).

Besides the beaches, the must see of Las Palmas. Very charming place. A few good restaurants and cafes around. Just a hint, Columbus is Colon in Spanish if you are looking for his house.

Didn't go in . But the area of the old town is very nice to sit and chill . Parking around it is hard to find so think about that if your parked far away . Parking on the street is only for an hour

I highly encourage you to spend an afternoon in the historic city centre, where you can see some classic colonial buildings and find out more about the history of Gran Canaria and the Canaries more in general. When the Covid pandemic is over, I would encourage you to visit the area on a Thursday evening, too, to experience the great street festival mood when all bars and cafes sell pinchos with one drink.

The cathedral was really something! The old town of Las Palmas is really worth a visit. If you are staying in Canteras area, take a bus, it's 1,40 euros to get to the bus station called Teatro. Walk around, have a coffee or something to eat an enjoy! Lots of museums around if you are interested in.

A nice square closed to traffic. Cheap visit to the cathedral tower and viewpoint.

We did the hop on hop off bus and would highly recommend it. This is the old town and the bus gives you great information about the heritage of Las Palmas via headphones.
