Just... WOW! Outstanding aquarium with spectacular views. Great to spend a few nice hours, especially with kids. During the week not overcrowded. Price seems to be a bit steep, but honestly, it's totally worth it. What we especially liked, was the fact that they are trying to raise awareness of the human impact on the planet. Not in a unpleasant way though. The staff is also very friendly and you can have a snack/drink/meal in the bistro inside. We totally love this place!

Well kept place. Beautiful creatures to observe. Amazing design and stunning aquariums with unbelievable wild life to enjoy. I couldn't have enough to watch those fishes, sharks, turtles etc it was hard to leave. I could easily have spend my whole day in front of the 36m wide observation glass or in the restaurant with the view.

Had a wonderful time here with so many exhibits. I really liked the one way system, which helps you see every thing that the aquarium has to offer. The price of the food is a bit extortionate so best to eat ahead. Or bring your own snacks. I really enjoyed the exhibits you can emerse into some of the tanks too. The big tank was amazing and chill. The highlight was being up close and personal to the crocodile.

(Translated by Google) A place where the need of animals is not taken into account. Sharks should be in round aquariums (without corners) as they have a tendency to crash into them. Many species are purchased from recovery centers, which in theory were already rehabilitated to be released. Large animals are brought into free fall from a gate and some have died on impact with the water. Another type of tourism should be encouraged, if you want animals there are excursions to see them in the wild.

Wow, what a place. I was impressed, really cool way to show off the fish. The kids enjoyed quite allot. The big panoramic pool with 50m of glass and maybe 7m tall was pretty impressive. The restaurant is the only thing that is on the down side, didn't have much to offer. Other than that, this is where you should spend you time and money.

Absolutely amazing place to visit. The fish look happy and are presented nicely. Loved the big shark tank and all the smaller ones around spiraled with corals from different regions. They also have the texts in English. Worth a visit.

(Translated by Google) It says that it is open and it is not so thankfully that we call first, with covid issues it is understandable that they close it but that at least they put it and update it, although seeing a very good comment I as an animal lover encourage people to start doing a more responsible tourism with the animal and plant habitat since we put our whims to see animals in a giant fish tank that should be free and in fact you can see them free with excursions .... WE CONTINUE PUTTING THE HUMAN EGOISM BEFORE THE NEEDS OF ANIMALS AND PLANTS, the worst thing is to read that ANIMALS BUY ANIMALS FROM RECOVERY CENTERS SHAMEFUL IN THEORY ALREADY REHABILITATED TO BE INTRODUCED IN THEIR HABITS AGAIN, BUT I AGAIN SAY THAT THE HUMAN NO SELFISHNESS IS HUMAN LIMITATION (Original) Pone que esta abierto y no es así menos mal que llamamos primero, con temas del covid es entendible que lo cierren pero que por lo menos lo pongan y lo actualicen, aunque viendo un comentario muy bueno yo como amante de los animales animo a la gente a que empiece a hacer un turismo más responsable con el habitad animal y vegetal ya que ponemos nuestros caprichos de verlos en una pecera gigante a animales que deberían estar en libertad y de echo los puedes ver en libertad con excursiones.... SEGUIMOS PONIENDO EL EGOISMO HUMANO ANTE LAS NECESIDADES DE LOS ANIMALES Y PLANTAS , lo peor es leer que COMPRAN ANIMALES A CENTROS DE RECUPERACION VERGONZOSO EN TEORIA YA REHABILITADOS PARA SER INTRODUCIDOS EN SU HABITAD DE NUEVO PERO VUELVO A DECIR QUE EL EGOISMO HUMANO NO TIENE LIMITES 👏👏👏

Price for non residents are 25 EUR for adults and 17,5 EUR for children. Very large and well executed aquarium with heaps of fish, sharks, turtles and other amphibians. Accessible via wheelchair and for small children. Well worth the admission fee!

Absolute must visit if you are in town ! You will need 2-3 hours depending on how detailed you want to be while walking around. I have visited the place on Sunday and it wasn’t crowded. Price is 25€ per person so not cheap but worth every penny! Be aware aquarium is closing at 17:30. Cameras allowed but without flash

What an amazing place we absolutely loved it and so did our boys. Went on a Saturday but booked in advance to avoid queing at the entrance. Great information at each station clear guide from the map you receive when entering. Food is very good and well priced, so you are not getting ripped off. Coffee is very good. We had lunch in the restaurant and what a view. An absolute must would highly recommend this for anyone with or without kids. There is plenty of parking next door also.

Great aquarium with lots of fish to see especially the sharks and stingray! The design makes you feel like you are in the sea with all the fish and is perfect for photography. You can also see the staff working which is also very interesting! The only thing I noticed that the water is not as clean as it should be.

Fantastic Aquarium. 5 Stars. A wonderful and knowledgeable experience had by both youngest and oldest in the family. The Aquarium is extremely well laid out, clear signage in different languages and spotlessly clean. Very educational for our youngest daughter (8yrs) who read all the Digital display boards, which had so much great information. This was one of the highlights of our family trip in Las Palmas. Well Done to staff who were so friendly and to management who run a great place. Thank you.

Probably one of the best aquarium experience I have been to. There is so much to see and do here it's unbelievable. It also give you an image of what the oceans are going through right now and leaves you with a feeling of reducing your carbon footprint with whatever you do. Very educational a must do when here. Highly recommend for anyone that wants to see the under sea world in next to natural setting.

As a usual aquarium you can see many different kinds of fish and sea creatures, there are also chameleon, frogs, and a crocodile. The entrance fee is 27€ per person. You will be given a map upon entry. You can take pictures (no flash), no food allowed inside. You can enjoy the view inside with some comfortable kinda like couches in a certain area. It's clean and not crowded inside when we visited. Overall, it's good ☺️👍

Highlight of my trip to the island. Great experience seeing so many fishes I’ve never seen before. The Aquarium is a lot bigger than I expected it to be. I was in awe the whole time. Loved it. It’s also near a big mall which is useful.

Possibly the best aquarium I have ever been to. Large variety of exhibits, fantastic restaurant with underwater viewing area. Lots of areas to sit and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. We especially enjoyed the large beanbags around the round tank. Entrance cost 25euros for adults but it was definitely worth it. We spent a couple of hours wandering around. Staff were friendly too. Highly recommended, well done 👍

Great Aquarium! Very surprising diversity of sea creatures displayed in stunning aquaria and a beautiful atmosphere overall. Greatly recommended. We had some time to kill and since I am an aquarium enthusiast myself we decided to visit the aquarium which was only a 10 minute walk from our apartment. Our visit turned out to be a great way to pass the time. Not only does the aquarium have the most diverse selection of sea creatures I have ever seen together in one place, also the tanks were beautifully furnished with information displays about the fish in several languages. On top of that the routes through the building have been thought through very well and places the visitor in the natural surroundings where the fish live. The routes through the aquarium take the visitor to several large basins with smaller tanks along the way. One can only imagine the work that must have gone into creating the large basins and if it were not for the amount of time we had I would easily have been able to spend several hours just looking at these large basins. Overall, money well spent and an absolute must see for anybody with sea life affiliated feelings and a well worth trip for anybody who doesn’t!

Interesting aquarium, it's got a nice design and big tanks with sharks but I have seen much better in Lisbon or in Hull, UK. The price 25 EUR per person is really to much for what it has to offer though.

(Translated by Google) The setting is very good, but the entrance is very expensive, my mother, my little cousin, my uncle and I went and it was almost € 75 being residents, as you enter you get the impression that it is a decorated industrial warehouse, the parrots, the poor, apart from the fact that they were very little visible despite the numerous posters that are on them, when you realize where they are, you see that they are enclosed in a steel cubicle, with a window of barely 40x40 cm and surrounded by spotlights, which They are very harmful to them, many species are bought in recovery centers when they were ready to be released, and there was a lot of problem during the transport of the sharks, because they not only brought them in deplorable conditions, but they "submerged" them from above of a gate, causing some deaths due to the impact. Generally poor care of some species, my uncle tried to console me by telling me that fish also died, but not so much, it is assumed that the purpose of the aquarium is to promote the culture and diversity of the Canarian fauna, not to disappear or poorly care for it.

Fantastic and well-planned aquarium that rivals some of the best in the world. The tanks/exhibits felt intentional and almost artistic, and the fish looked healthy and not crowded. The facilities were spotless and paths were well laid out and easy to navigate. The cafe, which offers views of one of the larger tanks, also had some great cakes available.

Great place, especially the aquariums inside. The combination of the lighting and the music gives the place a mysterious feeling. Lots of exotic animals that I have never seen before. Only reason for 4 stars is that the aquarium is the pricy entrance fee. Otherwise 5 stars.

It may be named one the best Gran Canaria attractions, but not for me though. I understand that there's much expenses to carry and covid pretty much ruined every single one of us, in some way. But 25 euros is way too much for a ticket. Besides, there were plenty of screens that weren't working and some of the smaller tanks had broken plastic, "repaired" with a duct tape.

Amazing variety of sea creatures big and small, many I'd never heard of or had seen in the flesh. An extremely large tank held sharks and rays among others. It was well laid out and had several viewing points for the large tank. You can easily spend a couple of hours admiring all of the sea creatures. I was even more impressed when I sent an email and video expressing my concern about a small shark being attacked and they reassured me it was a normal mating ritual. Well worth a visit.

An amazing place for the people who love fish and animals. The environments are really good and I always felt super cozy with the ambience and the fishes swimming really close to you. The most beautiful aquarium I have seen so far. In recent years I have been to a large number of aquariums, but this was really the most beautiful. Throughout the complex, attention has been paid to the decoration, nature, beauty and most importantly the fish. The route through the building is clearly indicated and you gradually build up the tension. You start relatively small and the tanks get bigger and bigger, ending in a mega large panorama view aquarium. All aquariums are well maintained and there was not one fish that looked unhappy (don't know if you can see that, but still). If you take the time to go through it, it will take you about 2 hours. So absolutely worth it. (sidenote) There are two restaurants in the complex. Don't expect high quality meals here. The hot dog was cold and the spagetti was very nasty.

Excellent, a true delight. I really enjoyed the experience I feel honoured that I had all the time in the world to browse. Because it wasn't that busy to distract you. Seeing the huge tank at the end was awesome I think it's meant to be one of the largest in the world.

Great aquarium. The layout was great with a convenient one way system throughout. A great variety of freshwater and saltwater fish species, topped off by the cylinder reef aquarium and the spectacular panoramic tank. Reasonable entry price for the size of the aquarium and a great trip for everyone.

Worth a trip on a hot afternoon. It's off the motorway, but poorly signposted and we got lost in the harbour. Car park was full, but there is an underground one behind the official car park. Fortunately we had bought tickets online, there was a long queue in the heat outside. The walk takes you through reptiles and amphibians first until you get to the awesome central aquarium with different shark species. It is warm in there and there was a long queue for refreshments - suggest bring a drink and a snack. Enjoyable 4 hours would do it again. Suggest tie it in with something else in the North of the island, like Arehucas Rum Distillery, but they close at 14:00.

You know, I was very pleasantly surprised! Normally a tourist trap like this is very hit or miss. Happy to report a hit. On a weekend (admittedly out of peak season), it wasn’t too busy - not too many screaming children and easy to see the displays. But the main draw was the excellent displays and tanks - they put the London Aquarium to shame. Really nice way to spend a few hours if visiting Las Palmas.

We’ve already visited some sea worlds before but I have to admit this one was simply the best. Everything was clean, the staff was very nice and helpful. I really enjoyed watching the animals and the description which were also in English. Our daughter sat more than 30 minutes under the “Nemo and Dory” aquarium and had so much fun that we were even able to have a coffee in the cafeteria next to it😁 I must admit, I doubt it would worth the money but it definitely worth every Euro!

Very nice place! Enjoyed the entire visit! It was Saturday morning and it was a bit busy so could not see some of the windows as lots of people were gathered around them. Definitely worth it. Note that if you want to buy a drink there are normally queues at the first bar so if you can wait a bit and go to the second one you will get your order faster.

(Translated by Google) If you come to Gran Canaria, you should definitely visit the Poema del Mar. It can keep up with the most important aquariums in Europe and does not have to shy away from comparison with the Acquario de Genova. Anyone who knows Loro Park on Tenerife and is expecting something similar will be amazed at first - at least in the off-season: the rush is limited, and there is time for information at the cash desk. The first visitor area in the building - the jungle - is exceptionally beautiful and offers a fantastic view of some animals, but it is not yet extremely spectacular. The deep sea area is then, however, terrific: In spacious underwater passages and behind large windows you can see the fish of the ocean passing by from a short distance. In contrast to Loro Park (orkas!), All animals are kept in an environment that is strongly based on nature and can also be observed in incredible detail by visitors. The only point of criticism is the poor signage to the aquarium. However, this is probably not the responsibility of the operator, but the city of Las Palmas.

(Translated by Google) The entrance is quite expensive, € 25 (I have not visited it more times for this reason). It also has limited hours because it closes at 6:00 p.m. The interior is very beautiful because it makes you feel like in a theme park, walkways, tunnels, slopes. In general, the aquariums are large and it is appreciated that the species are well cared for. Without a doubt, what impresses the most is the large aquarium with a panoramic view, it leaves you speechless.

It was a lovely experience. I have a 2 year old daughter and it was a perfect outing for us as a family... there were a few type of fishes that were new to me as well... the mega aquarium was amazing... just the sheer size of it and the marine life inside was captivating... the restaurant overseeing the mega aquarium was impressive as well.. overall, it is definitely recommended for those on a family trip especially with young ones...

Been to a few aquariums, Moscow and Osaka among them. This one is absolutely top notch with well-designed and maintained themed areas and friendly personnel. With 25 Euros per person, if you're not Canarian, it is pretty expensive. We found it to be absolutely worth the money, though!

Impressive aquarium. They have a lot of interesting fish species and it is nice to watch them. The COVID protocols are nearly nonexistent with kids all around you and a lot of parents with their noses exposed.

As many others mentioned it is a little bit pricey, 25eur for adults. But when you finish with the tour it will get easier :D because it is kinda worth it. No covid requirements at all. Just the usual, masks and distance. Everything is clean and organized, the money is well invested.

Beautiful with it's tranquility. Lots of space for walking and also buggy and wheelchair friendly. You can rent a roller from there if needed. Tanks for small fishes are big and great and it is enough for the reef fish as well. I do think that sharks and any type of rays need bigger space. You are allowed to take photos, just without flash so please be mindful!

Very nice aquarium, saltwater part looks really nice. Freshwater could use a little work in some places but s lot of really nice tanks. If you're not a massive fan of aquariums the 25 euroight be a bit steep but otherwise a lovely place

Brilliant. We paid €25 per adult & spent almost 4 hours in there, dazzled by every type of creature we expected & more. Well-crafted out, 2 site restaurants, a tunnel area, a huge cinema-like screen (but bigger!) by the end to watch a combination of the rays, fish, turtles & sharks. Throughout the visit we saw a lot. Worth it!

  • 5/5 Jericho Joy C. 10 months ago on Google
Must visit when you're in Las Palmas. The price was a bit steep but the aquarium definitely delivered. The place looked new and was very clean. We were there with my two kids and they had so much fun. My family used around for 3-4 hours to see everything. I would recommend parking at the shopping mall across the street.

Best trip on Gran Canaria. Totally worth the 25 euros for an adult. So many fishes to see. Different areas. Well set out, didn’t feel like you was squashed in the corridors with loads of other people. Public car park over the road. Easy to get to from bottom of the island. So glad we visited here. Will definitely visit again and recommend to others visiting Gran Canaria. Really reasonably priced lunch and next to the fishes. Friendly staff. Lots of toilets throughout the aquarium. Lovely seeing the turtle rescued and in the aquarium from the fuerteventura rescue before he / she was realised back into the sea.

Good atmosphere but too many flying dinosaurs (i mean you can't spot the ceiling) Some of the fossils feel very fake. Still good place to relax.

Amazing aquarium, scenic viewpoints everywhere and lot of different species. Several universes with jungle animals, marine, and deep sea area Takes two hours to visit (no more) so you should go prior 15h30.

An absolute must visit if you are in the area. This place is fantastic! I thought the tickets were a little expensive but when I entered I was immediately happy to say it was worth it. The theming all the way through the place is great, so even when you are walking between displays you still feel like you are in part of the experience. The displays themselves are beautiful and varied, from tiny fish up to sharks and alligators! The giant tanks really take your breath away and the tunnels make you feel like you're at the bottom of the ocean. Super immersive! There is detailed information on all the displays in multiple languages. Lots of toilets throughout. A cafe, restaurant and gift shop. The walkways are all pretty wide so you never feel super cramped and it appears that the disabled access is really great as it is all wide and gradual ramps instead of stairs. Again, if you are in the area, don't even debate it, just add this to your list of places to visit, you won't regret it.

Amazing! Very well looked after. Loads of huge aquariums with healthy fish, plants and corals. The best aquarium I've every visited, by miles. Go if you're a fish keeper.

  • 4/5 Hannah H. 8 months ago on Google
The aquarium is an awesome experience. We bought tickets online in advance so obly had to wait a couple minutes to get in. One of the best aquariums we've visited - for the children the sharks, rays and jellyfish were a particular hit! One grumble - when we first visited 4 years ago the restaurant where you can sit and eat watching the sharks go by had a fantastic offering a lot of beautiful meals: and now its just has a cafe feel - has a lot of chips and overcooked nuggets. The canarian potatoes were cold and undercooked and there was just one poor server looking very harassed. It was a disappointing part of the experience for us. However overall I would recommend a visit!

Enjoyable time here. Lots to see although it's quite expensive to get in (mainly thanks to the rubbish value of the £ vs the €). If you have kids you'll enjoy a good few hours looking around. Edit: in response to the reply from the aquarium, they raise a very good point so I've updated my comments. I overlooked the costs associated with their work.

We came to the aquarium on a weekday. The line at the ticket office was short, so in less than 10 minutes we already had our tickets. For two adults paid 54 euros. At the entrance, after checking our tickets, we were given a map of the aquarium. We ended up spending more than two hours there. Lots of sea animals, big screens. We watched with interest as the employee fed the sea anemone. We really enjoyed.

The way the animals are displayed at Poema del Mar Aquarium is truly remarkable. Each exhibit is thoughtfully designed, allowing you to get up close and personal with a wide variety of marine life. From the graceful movements of the sea turtles to the vibrant colors of the coral reefs, the displays create a captivating and immersive experience. It's a fantastic place for both kids and adults to learn about the wonders of the ocean.

I sat there for about an hour. the entrance can be bought online and it's great that there was no waiting and there weren't even many people there. at the end there is also a small shop where you can buy anything

Absolutely amazing Aquarium! So many different species, it was a great afternoon. The two highlights of the activity: the shark tank section, there are chairs where you can sit back and just watch the fish swim by - so relaxing and peaceful and Angela!! She was just great! She told us all about each animal individually, gave us recommendations of where to go to watch rays in the wild, showed us a shark tooth that apparently not everyone gets to see 🤫 and was just really nice in general, really professional and passionate about her job, we definitely learnt a lot with her 👍🏼👍🏼 Definitely recommend it

The sealife is displayed with care and imagination and is intended to bring visitors as close as possible to the creatures they are trying to protect from extinction in the wild. Personally, I'm happy to pay the entrance fee if the money is used to raise awareness of the importance of conservation and help stem the destruction of our environment. The collection of different creatures is just delightful, and the darkened passages add to the sense of awe. The unique design is delightful, and the highlight has to be when you enter the main viewing room, which literally takes your breath away.

  • 5/5 Lee A. 4 months ago on Google
This place is fantastic. It seemed expensive initially at 25 euros but believe me I would pay more. The aquariums are awesome, with great viewing areas and underwater tubes to walk through. The fish and othe aquatic animals were incredible. I would highly recommend going, you will have a wonderful time.

Enjoyable aquarium experience! A wide variety of fish, easy navigation, and the world's largest aquarium glass add to the appeal. While it may be the weakest among its sister parks, Loro Parque and Siam Park, it's worth a visit, especially if you're in the northern part of Gran Canaria.
