Spacious and varied modern art gallery. Free admission and lockers for bags. Good lift access for those less mobile. Exhibits will vary but the current range focusing on environmentalism is important and well thought out. No cafe facilities and the terrace is tiny. Worth a visit if you enjoy modern art

They do an incredible job with what they have here! Not only do they go out of their way to get the most exquisite and exclusive pieces of art for the exhibitions, they also organize concerts, workshops, conferences and other cultural activities for a wide range of interests. Best of all, almost all activities are free or for only a few euros, which makes them accessible to anyone. The museum mostly features local artists, but sometimes international artists as well, and they even have space for new talents.

The building itself is a marvellous fusion of medieval and modern architecture, just that meets a visit on its own. I love the local permanent exhibition as they give you insight into the unquote artistry world of the canary islands that blends so many influences. There are also temporary exhibitions, at the time of my visit I deeply was impressed by the queer/feminist work of Zoulikha Bouabdellah - entitled very aptly - Inverted. Loved it! Oh, and make sure to relax in the roof top lounge! It’s architecture is stunning and so are the views.

It’s closed! Until March 2022. I guess I should stop using google maps as my source of information while travelling.

The diverse collection of contemporary and modern art at CAAM is both thought-provoking and visually captivating. The curatorial choices made here showcase a deep understanding of the evolution of art and its role in the broader cultural context. The architectural design of the center itself is a work of art, creating a harmonious setting for the exhibitions. The layout and ambiance encourage contemplation and engagement with the artwork. What stands out most about CAAM is its commitment to fostering cultural dialogue and understanding. The center hosts a variety of events, workshops, and collaborations that bridge the gap between art and the community, making it a vibrant hub for artistic expression and education. The staff’s knowledge and passion for art are evident, and their enthusiasm for sharing their expertise with visitors is commendable. In conclusion, CAAM - Atlantic Center of Modern Art is a must-visit for anyone with an appreciation for contemporary art and a desire to immerse themselves in a cultural journey. It’s a testament to the enduring relevance of art in our lives.

I'm biased because I love modern arts museums, but I loved both of the CAAM museums. Both were free of charge in January 2023. The smaller one, near Casa de Colón, I give five stars, easily. It was small enough for me to take all in. I can't do big exhibitions, my brain can't handle all that, so this one was perfect for me This, the bigger one? If you go there, and you should because it's great, just have time for couple of hours to spend there. The exhibition was everything the art should be, it meddled with your feelings and your thoughts about the world. For me, it was a bit too woke, occasionally, that's why I'm not giving it five stars. But, it's art. You can and should have an opinion, and I definitely encourage you to see this beautifully constructed exhibition too.

A very unique museum with free entrance but offering a lot of diverse attractions. You find 4 floors of carefully detailed exhibitions about indigenous people from around the world as also about putting care about nature and environment

I really love this exhibition space. We visit Gran Canaria quite often, and we have never been disappointed by the exhibitions. The works are very contemporary and critical. They give a lot of food for thought. There is no cafe in the museum, but on the last floor there is a snack machine that sells some sweets and hot drinks. Next to the machine, there is an open terrace with chairs and a limited view on the roof of the cathedral and surrounding buildings.

Nice museum with temporary modern art exhibitions. I was impressed by the works by Juan Hernández, an artist originally from this island I had never heard of. The building itself is very interesting, worth the visit.

Beautiful building, a perfect integration of a modern inside with an ancient structure. The exposition is not very big but inspiring in a relaxed atmosphere. Worth a visit, free entrance.

Great place for modern art . We just ran to Manrique exhibit, but you have to go visit his home town, his house at Lanzarote.

A stunning range of modern art in a visually exciting building. Plenty of interest of any ages and a small balcony area to enjoy refreshments from vending machines.

Free entrance, however I didnt find it interesting. Mostly modern art paintings (2-3 painters if I remember correctly) with no description or a scarce one in Spanish only. They dont charge you for entrance, so thats good in case you dont like it. If you do, you can leave a tip in the box.

Don't be fooled by the "open" information on google. It is currently undergoing renovation till March 2022...all a good reason to return to this amazing island :)
