Nice Mercado with numerous stalls of local fruits, seafood, vegetables, etc. Parking across the street is usually full but not more than 10 minutes for a spot to open up.

I had read about this market online, and given that I very much enjoy trying new and different fruits we decided to pay the market a visit whilst we were in the area. The place was easy to find and we parked in the car park opposite. Lots of different things for sale, as would be expected in most markets - meat, fish, fruits, vegetables etc. I didn't buy anything except for fruit. We got offered quite a lot of samples but there was no pressure or hard sell from any of the vendors. We enjoyed the fruits that we bought and they were of good quality.

Beautiful set ups and friendly atmosphere but wayyy too overpriced. Basically a tourist trap grocery store. Definitely not where the locals come to buy their food. Cool for a quick walk through, just try not to buy anything.

Incredible selection of local Gran Canarian specialties. Everything from coffee and wine to meat, cosmetics, fresh fish and fruit and vegetables. Also the shopowners are very friendly and have a great knowledge about their products. Definitely worth a visit!

Gastronomic markets One of the top attractions of the city is to visit the traditional local markets, and to enjoy the local cuisine. Vegueta Market at the historical quarter and Mercado del Puerto - close to Sta Catalina Square and Las Canteras Beach added several food stalls with ready-to-eat options and has become one of the city’s trendy meetings spots for the tapas & drink!

A must see if you're visiting Vegueta in the old town of Las Palmas. The Mercado is close to the bus station Teatro and if you are staying in Canteras area, the price of the ticket for bus is 1,40 euros. Depends on what bus you take and where are you getting the bus on, it takes about 15-40 minutes.

SCAM, most expensive bananas of my life. I as a tourist asked for red bananas in spanish in a nearby shop close to the parking place, she packed three in a paper bag and said it cost 8,50 €. Because they were from India or Southamerica. I forgot to ask for a receipt. The tamarillo cost 30 Cents. I am never going to buy there again. Two of the three bananas were already showing signs of being old.

Beautiful, old, historic fresh food market. Lots of tropical and other fruits and vegetables with some fresh fish, meats and pastries.

Great choice of fruit, vegetables, meats, fish and cakes. Had a pastel de nata and cafe con leche in market cafe, a long way from the Market Bar in Glasgow’s Graham Square!

Be aware, ask before you buy. Certain shops may try to rip you off. They charged me in a shop 4.5 Euro for two purple banana. It was my fault somehow as I did not ask for the price before getting it and I did not want to challenge the shop owner later as I was not willing to destroy my holiday for a couple of euro.

We parked at the parking lot across the road from the market which is packed with fresh produce etc. Worth a visit before exploring the surrounding area.

The market is clean with variety of options. I had my best food in one bistro which is unfortunately not found on the map. It is on the side of the market( not inside) and I like the atmosphere that local people like to come by and have a bottle of beer there.

First place from where we start our trip. Maybe is bit pricey, but one of the best places to try different varieties of bananas and other fruits growing on Island.

Fantastic displays of fruit and veg and fish. Produce all looked really fresh. If I lived nearby this is where I'd get my fruit, veg and cheese! Great herb and spice stall too.

Beautiful market with fresh local ingredients! Must visit before an old town tour.

A massive disappointment, almost every stall is closed and the open ones have little to no food that you would expect on a proper Spanish market. For a nice market Cordoba or Madrid are a place to go

Nice vibe but be careful about the prices. There is no price tag in most stalls, they charge you higher if you are not local.

Nondescript to some, but we enjoy going to places where only locals go. The market has some of the best tropical fruit outside of the tropics.

Scam! Stay away at least from the stalls without price tag! They are gonna charge you with ridiculous price. I got half of a mango and a dragon fruit for 11 euro.

Prices looked quite high be we bought some fruits and they were good enough ;)

Great selection of fresh food, beautiful displays of fruit and veg. Interesting luxury goods and services. A very handy spotless toilet was available , but I can only judge the men's facility......

Loads of totally awesome fresh fruit, vegetables, and fish etc. Go there!

Easy accesable, nice buildimg, very friendly local sellers, tasty fruit. Very clean toilets.

  • 5/5 Tomas 5 years ago on Google
Very nice, but very expensive. One mango for 7 EUR. Though it is probably the best mango i have ever had! And everything should be localy grown.

  • 5/5 John H. 2 years ago on Google
Great food market, especially the produce stalls. Fresh fish stalls and butchers stalls too.

Very interesting place. But be careful for those which do not present their prices. If you are here just haggle!
