Really enjoyable day out. We could easily spend 4-5 hrs there with the different live displays. You can really see the ecological factor/learning that goes on with the animals and it's really nice to see the handlers with such passion for their animals. Would recommend the birds of prey show. All toilets had a baby change and were clean. Good gift shop which serves ice cream. We had a hire car but there is also a bus directly from Maspalomas. Restaurant is priced similar to the tourist locations but was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food (specifically the burger).

Fantastic park in Gran Canaria. If you hire a car 15 minutes drive from Maspalomas. The park is in the mountains so only recommend well experienced drivers otherwise use taxi or bus ( both reasonable price ) We stayed 5 hours but can easily spend more time. Be prepared a comfortable shoes and clothes lots of walk up and down on the hill. Highly recommend Birds of Pray and Dolphins show. Birds of pray show there is no shelter so take a hat, suncream and plenty of drinks with you. Dolphins show perfectly in the shades. Food and drink price is the same like every other tourist spots but queue is quite long. Plenty of bench so you can sit and ate your own pack lunch. You can have a photo with dolphins, eagles or parrots for a bit extra money. Overall highly recommend and fantastic memory for our family !

Amazing park in Gran Canaria with lots of local animals, a big variety of birds with very interesting bird shows in the mountainous areas. dolphin shows are also very entertaining. It’s perfect for family day out. A really fun and lonely experience. Definitely should visit if you are at the island and love animals :)

We really enjoyed our visit to Palmitos Park. It was a very hot day and there's lots of walking involved but there are lots of shaded areas you can stop and get refreshments. The dolphin show was amazing. You get the opportunity to have a photo taken with the dolphins (at an extra cost). There's a huge variety of birds there and and walk through butterfly House. Definitely recommend going here

I was there 10 years ago and was very impressed. This year we went there with our daughter and I was very disappointed. The parrot show was closed. Many of the plants around the paths were dry and not taken care of. Everything looks like it's getting old and not taken care of. The Birds show was good. But with too much introduction. Before the show actually starts everybody gets bored. Dolphins were nice, but the show itself was annoying because of the very loud music. I don't know why they make that music so loud. Through those old speakers it sounded terrible. We left before the show ended because that music was super annoying. Poor dolphins can't leave and have to listen to this garbage twice a day. Overall there is lots of advertising, but the place itself is not getting taken care of. Depressing experience.

Lovely natural park. Mainly birds but a few small mammals and reptiles plus dolphin, butterflies, orchids, and an aquarium. Rather pricey with no concessions for pensioners. Walking not for the faint hearted or disabled. Couple of restaurants and plenty of snack points, and toilets throughout. Ample parking or get a bus or taxi.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this zoo! It was massive and we spent nearly 5 hours there!! So much to see and different shows on at different times! The dolphin show was amazing! Such talented and amazing creatures!! You can tell their animals are well cared for and happy! There was lots of restaurants also but we didn’t eat there! They also had an aquarium and a butterfly house! I recommend buying tickets before hand as it is cheaper!

This was a very nice experience for us, there was no line at the tiket office, plenty of room to park the car and the place - huge! We didn’t watch the dolphin and the birds shows (it was too much for us, we old :] ) however the stroll was something else. We found different species of birds, some more curious than others, a diversity of fish, the orchid garden was lovely (i love orchids so for me it was heaven), the butterfly garden was also heaven (i also love butterflies, you can probably tell :]), butterflies were literally crashing into you (one or two actually bumped into me and they were pretty large!), crocodiles, snakes, mammals of all kinds! This is a great place to create holiday memories. I recommend it for everyone!

A truly memorable experience. A must see for all the family. We took bus 45 from near the plaza el hierro location straight to the park with no issues. You can buy return ticket (4.40€) or a single ( I think it's 2.50€) pp. Young infants go free. You arrive right outside the park entrance. There is car parking on site for people who hire cars and there were taxis waiting as well. There is a covid vaccine check and ticket check before entry. You can buy tickets at the location. You may have to show proof of age for children less than 3 (who go free) unless obvious! I think there is a couple of euro difference if you book online but your ticket is not valid on actual day of booking. Mask wearing signs are all over the place but policing is not strict by any means. Take your pictures properly and at leisure. I would recommend getting there between 11-12 because you can see the organised shows and wander around to see the other animals/birds and reptiles in good time. The Dolphin and both bird shows ( Exotic and Bird of prey shows) were very enjoyable for all the family. Get a picture of yourself with a Dolphin you simply have to! I liked the fact they used the Jerusalema remix track during the dolphin show! Very memorable track and adds to the terrific experience. The Bird shows were also very enjoyable. See the Eagles, Macaus, strutting their stuff. Only word of warning is that the young lad presenters are mixing Spanish and English translation when explaining stuff. If you want to understand you need your hearing sharpness turned up. Another word of warning. Give yourself good time to walk from Dolphin show 1.30pm until start of Bird show 2.30pm. It is a lot of uphill walking so don't stroll to look at all the animals/birds for too long ( like we did :)) I didn't think I could take a picture with a Komodo Dragon and live to tell the tale but I did and I am pretty sure he smiled!! Thank you to team Palmitos for a wonderful experience.

A great place for the family or friends, loads of interesting animals to see and a few shows to see, there is a few photo opportunities with some of the animals but you do have to pay. prices for food and drinks were quite expensive so i would bring your own if your not prepared to splash out. Overall we had a lovely experience there.

Very good park with real and beautiful dolphins and birds shows (comparing with Loro Park), reach collection of animals. The area is very green and lots of shadow, if you come with kids. No regrets we were there. PS: we bought combined tickets with Aqualand, it's cheaper

Both the Falconry and Dolphin shows were great and aimed at education regarding the various birds and the bottle-nosed dolphins. There were other various pens with different animals and reptiles, etc but for me the Orchid House would be the next best attraction there. We took food and drink with us. The sun is very strong and the amphitheatre at the top of the hill has not shade for watching the bird shows so take some high factor cream. We were a family of 4 and enjoyed our trip.

Definitely worth a visit with the kids. The trail brings you up a hill to see the birds of prey show and then head down to the dolphin show, exotic birds and aquarium. If you get there early (when it opens) you can comfortably get to see everything on the way upto the birds of prey show which is definitely worth a visit. Grab a snack at the kiosk on the way up. The shop at the top is closed at the moment. The only problem is at the top there is no shade so can be very hot especially for young kids. Once the show is over you can head down to the restaurant area which is beside the exotic birds and dolphin show. €20 to have a picture taken with the dolphin and if you haven't booked it already you can get it directly after the show.

I could easily write a dictation here about this park. It's a really great park. I probably liked dolphins the most. I love all animals, but how smart they are. There were also cacti. Which I appreciate.😂🌵

One of the best places I’ve ever visited. I thought €35 was expensive, but once you go, it’s completely worth the price. We saw the dolphin show which was exceptional - they care so much for them. We also saw the exotic bird show which was amazing. The scenery is beautiful with lots of plants to look at. The staff are super friendly. The highlight was the photo with the parrots! Yes the drinks are expensive, but I think the price is fine considering it could be more. I would recommend this to anyone considering going.

It is a great park, specially for families and also for hot weather. The pathways are mostly covered by beautiful trees and plants. We took the bus from Maspalomas and it took roughly 25mins to get there. 13,60€ for the entire family including the return trip (2kids). I'd recommend the dolphin show, the kids loved it. The entire park is surrounded by mountains which is a great panorama for the entire zoo. Lovely place with very friendly staff. The main restaurant is pricey but quality is ok. 15€ for a pizza margarita. Overall, definitely worth a family trip.

While the question of keeping dolphins is a reason why I had to think about visiting, I must say, it is worth a visit. All the animals looked very well cared for and the location of this unique mountain zoo is something to see in its own right. Plenty of amazing birds to see, one of the white macaws even sand and said Hola! The dolphins are amazing and seem to be happy their deep water setting.

Really good zoo set amongst the volcanic mountains. Picturesque setting but very steep pathways to negotiate so need to be fairly agile An amazing collection of animals, all well looked after. Exotic bird show, raptor show and the best dolphin show I've ever seen are all included with entrance fee. You need to allow at least three hours for a complete your. Well worth a visit if you're ever in Gran Canaria

Great zoo with plenty to see and do. It’s built on a hill so be prepared for some walking but it’s very much worth it. Plenty of places around to get water and drinks when it’s hot and plenty of toilet facilities too. Don’t miss the indoor bird house where for €2 you can get a little tub of bird milk and the birds will land on your hand to drink it. Dolphin show is fantastic too and you can get your picture take with the dolphin. Overall great day out for and adults and families.

Palmitos Park is an amazing park! Great atmosphere. Saw plenty of shows, both engaging and entertaining. It is a small park but still spent four hours in it! Bird show on top of the summit offers some incredible views of the birds in motion as well as the surrounding hills, mountains scenery. Definitely one to visit! Walked straight in to buy tickets, no wait. Wasn't necessary to but our tickets in advance.

A wonderful zoo and botanical gardens, very well laid out and well kept. The dolphinarium show was absolutely outstanding, the dolphins seem really happy and their show is both educational and breathtaking. The trainers are super talented too.

In my opinion, not wheelchair or buggy friendly, not great for people with mobility issues. Mostly shaded except for bird show and dolphin show. Dolphin show has a little shading but it is up very high , the steps are steep for people too. Enjoyed the bird show the most as it didn't go to plan. Dolphin show is basic (in my opinion)

Palmitos park definitely exceeded my expectations, although at first there may not seem like a lot of animals to see, my opinion changed throughout the park, obviously it was going to be different to a zoo you'd visit in England. The shows that are on throughout the day make it all worthwhile and definitely great value for money. Just hope the eagle that wouldn't return finally did 😅. The dolphin show is also a great watch with all staff and entertainers doing a fantastic job. Reasonable price for photos with a dolphin too which I wish I had paid for. Would recommend if you are in Gran Canaria

Loved this park. Quite hilly, but perfectly shaded in spots for a lovely wander. I love exotics birds and birds of prey and they were lovely to see, especially the Hyacinth Macaws which are so magestical, and of course the dolphin show. Amazing. You can see the love and trust they have for the staff. It was amazing to see, thanks for a lovely day x

It was a beautiful last day of our holiday, and we paid the extra €150.00 for the dolphin Experience. Sadly I couldn't see the children in the water but the photos were wonderful. The price was 3 for €25.00 and €5.00 each afterwards. We also got photos taken with parrots, it was such a great family experience. The dolphin show was wonderful and you could see how much the trainers really cared and respected them, it was lovely to see their relationship. We ate in the steak restaurant and shared pizza which was delicious, with cool Cola, exactly what we needed. Lots of photo opportunities and animals to see in a leisurely walk around the park. So happy, thank you!

It was a great trip. Plenty of animals and beautiful settings and at the end there is dolphin show which was absolutely amazing. There was plenty of parking available and restaurant for lunch just before dolphin show. The dolphin show starts after 13.00, not sure if rules are different for weekdays or weekends but worth checking first. We didn’t know but there was plenty to see before we reached the arena for dolphin show. Definitely worth a trip with family

Lots of animals, especially birds. You can hold birds in your hands, on your head, and on your shoulders for pictures, but it costs money, it didn't bother me at all. 4 different shows per day. You can buy a ticket with which you can take a photo with With a dolphin. You can also feed fish and emus for two euros. Emu can bite a little. There is an aquarium and a butterfly room and a greenhouse. I highly recommend.

Pleasantly surprised as some reviews were a bit negative. We came with the intention of staying a couple of hours but ended up staying for much longer. Yes it is expensive(no student , disabled or OAP concessions) and there are several extra money making things (photos with parrots, dolphins and birds of prey etc). Similarly the food in the restaurant is expensive and of average quality. Eg. Canaria potatoes are €9.50 whereas it is €5.50 elsewhere. Pizza €14.50 and pre-prepared! . If we were to go again a picnic would be our option. The general ambience is beautiful and calming and the animals look well cared for. It was lovely to see a variety of species. It wasn't very busy which I think added to our enjoyment and we never felt rushed. Heartily recommend a visit if you are ok with the prices.

This is a great place and well worth the visit. Both with and without children. Beautiful scenery and good shows. Also A+ for smooth entrance in covid-times. Buy a ticket on the site a day ahead and you will get through in a moment. If there is one place to visit during your GC stay - this is it.

  • 5/5 Nicola L. 2 years ago on Google
What an amazing setting. Even without the animals it would have been worth a visit it was spectacular. Its a small park well maintained. The dolphin encounter we had was probably the best we have experienced the dolphin trainers were really lovely and attentive . Great day out. You would need to either hire a car or get a bus out . We travelled from puerto rico it took about an hour.

Good place to visit with family. The exotic birds show was good and the dolphin show was average. Can visit the place if you have 2-3 hours free time.. Travel tips - The travel by cab proved very costly for us from North of Gran canaria. So plan accordingly or rent a car well before in hand.

A must see place. The way it is set up makes you feel like you are in tropical forests. Loads of animals to see. Picnic areas and they have on site bar where you can get drink and a bite to eat.

  • 5/5 Göran S. 5 months ago on Google
Fantastic wildlife park. Reptiles, exotic birds, birds of pray, dolphins and some more. It is a bit off geographically, a long drive on a winding road but well worth it. The dolphin show is amazing, and if you can afford it, the dolphin encounter is fantastic. 30 min together with the dolphins and a trainer. Included in encounter is a couple of photos, but if you want all you have to pay a ridicolous amount for the rest. You get a feeling that it is all about the money, but still the connection between the dolphins and the trainer is amazing to see.

We loved it that is so unexpectedly green. The surrounding green is well designed. We loved the birds of prey show. The lead is so funny. The dolphin show is a blast. The snacks sold in the dolphin show are expensive. Generally the tickets are not cheap for what they offer. We found it very clean. The toilets are specifically clean in comparison to similar places. Credit to the cleaning personnel.

Very diverse attractions, beautifully arranged and outstanding maintenance! Vibrant botanical gardens, captivating wildlife exhibits, just make sure you plan at least half a day here! And pick the right time, so you don’t miss any of the shows! While in the mountains, it is easy to reach. There is well-organized public transportation but rent-a-car would provide you with a greater flexibility and you could see more things in one day.

  • 5/5 Steven G. 4 months ago on Google
Somewhat off the beaten track - make sure you follow the signs along the valley floor. Worth the entry fee this is a well laid out animal park with plenty of shows to experience. Whilst there are food and beverage facilities available we enjoyed a pack lunch at one of the many seating areas . Alow a full day to see everything, making sure not to miss the shows by checking the times at the entrance.

  • 5/5 Ari V. 2 years ago on Google
Great variety of animals in a really well laid-out park that is easy to navigate. Quite heavy on birds, so great for bird lovers! Plenty of resting spots and benches along the way. Not crowded at all when we were there, and because most of the park is outdoors we were not required to wear masks throughout the visit.

Me, my wife and 7yr girl, really enjoyed palmitos park. Very nice place. And also a very skilled and proffesional staff. The bird shows and dolphin show is a must. All in all top notch. You can also see that many of the animals are at a good and happy place. The park is interesting, fun, calming and educational. We will be back.

We went to Palmitos Park and I was rather disappointed in comparison to other zoos on the canaries. Beautiful orchids in the orchid garden. I enjoyed the dolphins, definitely go to both shows if you have time as they are different shows. The road travelling in is a bit hairy in places. The signage could be better. Large car park. Lots of toilets. Great restaurant, reasonable priced meals. The gift shop is expensive.

"Worth a special visit" Very cozy and atmospheric. Closest experience with animals I remember,. All park is green and full of shade - we were comfortable during the all +31C day. Shows are very good, you can tell staff loves their wild friends. You can see all in half a day rush but I strongly recommend to plan the whole day for a calm relaxing visit.

  • 4/5 Yves V. 10 months ago on Google
We visited this park with two small children, aged 4 and 2. Both kids were allowed entry free of charge. The park itself is definitely worth a visit. It is easily reachable by car (a 20 minute drive from Maspalomas). The selection of animals is rather limited (don't expect elephants, tigers or lions) but they have a magnificent selection of beautiful birds and beautiful aquaria. You can come close to the animals in their free flight zones. The butterfly zone is fun with little children, and the dolphin show was very nicely executed and fun to watch. The difference with most other animal parks is that the animal enclosures are nicely integrated in the environment. The surrounding nature is omnipresent. The only "bad point" are the fairly expensive food options. It is best to come relatively early so you get to see some of the animal shows as well. Overall worth the trip if you have little children.

An amazing day out. You must see the free birds and dolphin shows!! An absolute must or you would be missing out hugely. The scenery is amazing, the staff are friendly, plenty of toilets, spots where you could buy a meal, a gift shop and a few kiosks. The staff went out of their way to give the kids a moment to remember. Hard to have an experience like it anywhere else!!

Nice park to visit and the shows are fun to watch. It is not extremely big, but watching the two bird shows, the dolphin show snd a full walk through the park, we spend there from 11:00 to 16:00. My advise is to bring some food and drinks, as the restaurant is a little bit expensive.

  • 3/5 Marcel van P. 1 year ago on Google
Nice park with breathtaking views of the canyon. Especially with kids older than 3 years old, the park is overpriced, as it is not too big. Many of the animals are stuck in very small cages. One good example is the poor armadillo.. This park is also a great opportunity to see the Gran Canarian local lizards. You don’t see them anymore much in the busy southern parts of the island. We did have a nice day out though. Handy to know: 1) Local bus can be taken for less than €5 return way from the south. 2) The park is wheelchair friendly, but is very hilly. So cruising around will definitely make you break a sweat. 3) Online tickets are NOT VALID for the same day. They say this is clearly stated on the website, but it’s not.

Great adventure for children and adults ! Wonderful dolphin show and fantastic bird show 💛 A must-visit place while on GC. Food in restaurant is also good so you don’t have to go anywhere else for lunch. PP gives you opportunity to experience animals just at your fingertips :)

Great for younger kids. Suggest check the bus times and show. We missed the Bird show and apparently it's really good, the dolphins show is really good too. If you missed the bus about 20euro on a taxi.

  • 4/5 Mylo W. 8 months ago on Google
The entrance to the park is very easy, yet the park is quite far away from most things so it will cost a bit in a cab or just get one of the busses. The queue times where not long at all to get in and very quickly got us in. When you arrive make sure to check the timings for the shows as some are one after the other. Be very prepared to do some hilly walking and overpaying on food. The dolphin show is amazing and so are the birds of prey (some of the birds do like to do their own thing). Nonetheless it was a great day out. Remember to pack a lot of water hats food and sun cream for the shows as there not under shade.

Palmitos Park is a gem of a zoo that offers a delightful and spacious environment. The collection of beautiful and exotic animals is truly unique, providing a rare sighting opportunity. The shows are entertaining and educational, making the €35 entrance fee well worth it. It's a top recommendation for your holiday, offering 5-7 hours of fun and a fantastic backdrop for stunning photographs. Don't miss the chance to experience Palmitos Park—it's an unforgettable adventure!

Brilliant park, very well laid out with places to get out of the sun/heat. Lovely seeing the animals. The Dolphin show was my favourite part of the park oh and the Birds of Prey. We ate in the restaurant and the food was good with friendly staff 😋 My only complaint would be the busy service No.70 from Global Buses, an absolute disgrace.

absolutely beautiful park. we booked tickets through our hotel and got a €3 discount per person and our 2 year went free. the dolphin show was amazing! there were many seats available and lots of shading. we also saw the birds of prey show and i got to catch an eagle on my arm. however there was no shading for this show so it got quite hot sat in the 90°F weather. this park does require tons of walking so be prepared for that. expect to spend at least 4-5 hours here especially if you are with young children.

Amazing day out, even though the weather was 49c the day we were there. The only advice is to take extra drinks and snacks as the prices are very expensive!! The Dolphin show was fantastic and very well trained. Staff were lovely.

Awesome place. Impressive shows with both with predator and with tropical birds. The most impressive of it is that all birds are flying free around. Eagles goes away for several kilometres and come back. It shows how good they feel in the park.

The exhibits were good. Recovery from the fire a few years back has gone well. Kids loved the dolphins especially! Some exhibits were under construction though. We bought tickets online and took advantage of the meal deal. Wish we hadn't- the meal deal was a very minimal saving and turned out only applied to the little cafe not the restaurant although the same meal was available both locations and the pizzas were grim and overcooked. In addition the cage was miles out of the way so we had to rush there and back in order not to miss the shows. Everything was very expensive- paid nearly 20€ for 4 lollies and one drink so would advise going well stocked with drinks - you're not allowed picnics though of course... in all we won't rush to go back.
