+ the Fitness / gym on top floor was small but decently equipment with free weights up to 30 kg. Small but okay if you’re alone there, and it had a great view of the harbour. + bed was comfortable. + great location right on las canteras beach in Santa Catalina. - front-desk staff was impolite and wanted to enter a debate when they gave us a room with two single beds despite our booking of a double bed. Cleaning staff was very polite, though. - front-desk suddenly wanted us to pay the whole stay in the middle of the stay without being able to explain why, although we booked with credit card upfront. - toilet had 20 cm in the bottom of the door missing and no ventilation. - no fridge in room (expected in 4 star hotel) - no coffee in rooms (expected in 4 star hotel)

Love this place! I use it in combination with my work with an airline. Very friendly staff, all the way around! Clean and nice. No children! A bit noise from the street on one side of the hotel, but a fantastic sea view on the other side! Sounds from people on the beach and the relaxing sound of the waves. Thumbs up.

Friendly staff, quick and nice room service - pretty diverse breakfast. Nice view on the beach, one problem we reserved a king size bed, but there weren't any when we came. They suggested to have the two single beds attached to each others, and add a topper on top to have it like a King size bed. Would've been better if we get EXACTLY what we asked for. Other than that it was a nice stay.

Stayed there for a week. Everything was great. Close to the beach, bus stop, pharmacy and supermarket. we enjoyed the swimming pool and the restaurant inside the hotel. The staff were also super friendly

Hotel Cristina was the perfect location for our holiday time. It is on one of the most beautiful beaches in the region, and yet it is still close to Las Palmas City center and with good connection to all the other interesting places in the island, which you can reach by car or by public transport. The staff of the hotel is very professional and friendly. They made us feel good, like in family, and they are one of the reasons why this holiday was so enjoyable. In addition, they helped us with organizing our activities with tips on what to do or where to go. With them we also organized renting a car, booked a surf class, a courtesy room for our last day on the beach after we had already checked out. The food is absolutely delicious in the Hotel, and also in the surroundings. We totally recommend coming to Hotel Cristina for a nice holiday in Gran Canaria

10/10 stay! The hotel staff went above and beyond to make sure my experience here was absolutely amazing! Julien made sure I was always being taken care of. Yolanda gave me a great welcome through my check in process. I will visit now Tenerife because of her. I was surprised by a bottle of a champagne brought to my room. Although I do not drink alcohol, I was happy to have been thought of by the staff. Room service was outstanding! Andrea made sure everything was perfect with my delicious food. Dunia, Elena, Isabel, and the rest of the morning staff made sure my breakfast was of the highest quality. I didn’t speak much Spanish, but Tara made sure everything in my room was taken care of after I left. Thank you to the whole staff for making my experience here absolutely amazing.

This hotel was very nice to stay in. The staff were amazing all over the hotel. I'm Gluten free and I was given GF bread every morning. The rooms are a decent size and bed was very comfortable.

Perfect spot to stay and enjoy Las Palmas Harbour and Las Canteras Beach. The breakfast is superb.

Hotel Christina is one of the very best hotels I have ever stayed at. The moment you arrive you get guided to sit in a sofa with a glass of champagne while the receptionist does the check in. As a half boarder you get breakfast and dinner and these are quality both. And drinks are included in dinner (never before seen by me in Spain) The pool is situated facing the beach and this mean that the hotel itself will cast a shadow on the poolarea until approximately 12 o'clock. Also there are not enough recliners for everyone. But who cares about that, when you have the most beautiful beach right in front of the hotel. The staff members are friendly, speaks good English and are very serviceminded. We will come back, that's for sure 😊😊

Excellent location right on the beachfront. I like the buffet style breakfast and dinner, plenty of selection of well cooked foods at a very reasonable price. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room was big and clean with a little balcony outside. Overall I was very happy during my stay, which was for work.

Excellent choice if you want to stay in Las Canteras area. The hotel is very nice and clean. The service and the stuff are very polite and professional. The breakfast is also very good, with plenty of choices, no matter is your diet you'll find enough choices. The sea view is amazing! One small but important detail (for people who have sleep troubles) the room doesn't have a complete black-out and the sun light is very visible.

Fabulous hotel, great rooms, service and breakfast. Pool overlooking the sea. The best place to stay in the town

I have no idea how this is a 5-star hotel because the room was full of dust and there was hair on the bed and in the bathroom. I asked to change rooms, but the other room was also the same. I think they don’t change the sheets and don’t really clean the bathroom. The four pillows were very smelly, like a terrible foot smell. Additionally, there were no refreshments or kettle in the room. There was just a water bottle for the first day, and they never refreshed it. The only good thing is the breakfast. And people are nice. Sorry, but it is very disappointing.

This is a very amazing hotel, the rooms are very nice and always clean. The food at breakfast and dinner is wonderful, so much to choose from. And the waiters there are so nice and give really good service. I must give a extra big big thanks to Maria and her staff in the reception. They always give excellent service and make you really feeling welcome at the hotel. They will help you with everything they can. Me and my daughter enjoyed the stay there very much and will be coming back.

Our flight back to the UK was cancelled, so we were put up in this hotel, not really knowing what to expect. It was a relief to find that it wasn't a crack shack in the middle of a ghetto. The hotel is a 20 second walk from the beach and is quite a large fancy tower from the outside. Once inside, the staff were excellent and really went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. The reception and bar area were very spacious with a tasteful seating area overlooking the sea. We were able to navigate our way around the hotel with ease as everything was clearly sign posted. Our room was modern in decoration and would make an excellent base for exploring the local area. Massive tv (Spanish/German channels mostly, 2 English news channels though), massive mirror, massive bed, fridge, lamps, air conditioning, large bottle of complimentary water and a small balcony with seating area. The toilet and bathroom were two separate rooms, which was an absolute game changer. My wife could have a relaxing bath (or shower) in peace without me coming in and ruining her experience. There was a good hairdryer, another big mirror, springy shaving mirror, toothbrushes, as well as pump action shampoo, shower gel and soap that smelled great. The toilet room was spacious, lots of room to move around or just sit and ponder. The toilet seat was so comfortable, I would treat myself to a sit-down pee sometimes (why not? I'm on holiday). The flush was very capable and did it's job well. The toilet paper was of a better standard than most hotels have. Next to the toilet was the beday (I'm still not quite sure how to spell it or use it to be honest. Maybe provide some instructions?), it was simple to operate, but still a mystery that makes me feel like I am missing out on a life changing experience. Free WiFi connects without passwords, which is ace. Breakfast! Breakfast is between 7-10 and it is like a big posh buffet. If you want a selection of cheeses including wet cheeses, selection of hams, some with olives in them(!!!), chorizo and salamis of varying girths and spiciness, they have all of that and more. Immense amountsts of fresh salad items. So many styles of bread and rolls that you can toast if you want. Boiled eggs, poached eggs, scrambled eggs, edible bacon, sausages, granola, cereals, pastries, cakes, smoked salmon and other breakfast fish, you name it, they had it. I ate as much of everything as I could and I can confirm it was all excellent. Drink as much tea/coffee combos as you want, or juices, even wine for breakfast if you like that lifestyle, it's up to you. I was sad to leave if I'm honest.

Hotel is clean, rooms are modern and clean as well. Staff (Lety, Jose, and all others) is very friendly and helpful. Hotel staf is very willing to assist and/or advice (car rental, tours, public transport etc.) Breakfast is excellent, and at breakfast there's a great view over the boulevard.

This hotel is one of the best hotels in Gran Canaria. The reception staff are very friendly and professional. They welcome me with a nice smile and smooth process of check in. I was seated until they got my data processed and offered me a nice drink. Also, their breakfast and dinner buffet are very good. The buffet staff are very nice and professional. I would like to come again. I had an amazing room and super sea view.

Brilliant location, directly overlooking Playa de las Canteras, a fantastic sandy beach. Facilities such as grocery stores, restaurants, gift shop, hair dresser, massage etc are within a couple of minutes walk. The room and the common areas are very clean. Staff is super friendly and helpful, they made us feel very welcome from the minute we arrived. The restaurant is also excellent, they offer a huge variery of delicious options at breakfast and dinner, at a reasonable price. Thank you Hotel Cristina, we had an absolutely dreamy vacation. We will definitely be back!

Was first time in Canary Island on business trip and I liked it very much. The room was very good but perhaps I was lucky because I was upgraded for free. The price per night was less than you would pay in any bigger town in most of the Europe. We had lunch and breakfast in the hotel and the food is plenty and tasty, at least four variety. They have pool and the beach is just outside the hotel. The only not so good thing was that there were some repairs going on and from time to time during the day you could hear unpleasant sound of drilling.

A lovely hotel in a perfect location. We got a room on the 7th floor with a great sea view. The room had everything we needed and a good bed. The cleaning worked well and it was great that environmental factors were taken into account, and for example bath towels were not changed every day, only when we wanted. The breakfast was good and sparkling wine was offered every morning. The staff was friendly and on my birthday there was a surprise in the room for me, thank you for that. We would love to stay at Cristina again when we return to Las Palmas.

Hotel Christiana was selected to be a location with family for New Year 2023/24 celebrations. It is a really lovely hotel, with a beautiful room and sea view. The food is excellent, and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Would love to come back again.

NO MANAGEMENT! If you have an issue, make sure it's not at the weekend! This claims to be a 5 star property but at most it is 3 star. They claim on their website ''We're masters in the art of exceeding your expectations'' Well this Hotel did the complete opposite of this slogan! I arrived at 10pm on Saturday evening, the reception desk overlooks the beach, even in the rain I could see this was a nice view. I had booked a Habitación Deluxe Vista Playa and felt glad that I had done so given the view I was looking at from reception. Having completed the check in process, I went to my room to find a deluxe room with a view of the street. I immediately went back to reception to explain I had booked a sea view, expecting this to be easily rectified! I showed the reception staff my confirmation and emailed it to them also at their request. From here, my experience started to wane. Their receptionist, Magdelana was most argumentative, stating that this was my issue and Expedia's and nothing to do with her. Yes I didn't book direct but this was certainly not how I expected to be treated in a 5* property! I asked to see a manager, she explained no manager will be available until Monday, again rather unbelievable. As I was insistent, she reluctantly called a lady called Yolande who apparently is her boss, but not a manager, doesn't that by definition make her a manager even if not in title! The only solution she could come up with was for me to pay an upgrade fee for the three nights and then I must take it up with Expedia as she stated they make this sort of mistake all the time! I use Expedia frequently and that's not been my experience. I take exception to them calling this an upgrade, when it is just what I booked! I emailed Expedia as soon as I arrived at my ''upgraded'' room but of course it's the weekend, so no response! What the hotel has in it's favour is the location, which is great. I have no idea how this has received 5* rating, little or no leisure facilities, housekeeping is poor and the property generally looks old and neglected. As a patron of many global hotel chains, for example, Diamond Hilton member for 10 plus years, I'd say my hotel experience is well qualified. This is a perfect case study of what is NOT customer service or hospitality for an industry that is struggling to revive itself after the pandemic. Properties with 5* ratings are expected to do more by ensuring good customer care in the hands of carefully selected reception staff who are expected to be brand ambassadors. The front desk staff at this hotel are anything but.

Nice staff, horrible food. There is a pool available in a decent size and a Gym with a really nice view. The rooms are clean but the furniture is not the newest. The location of the Hotel is really good, situated right next to the beautiful city beach. There you can find good restaurants, bars and street artists.

I stay on this hotel gor 7 days. It has spacious room, very clean and on top of it it has nice scenery of the beach (if you get the room facing the beach). food in the restaurant was excellent, it was buffet and I really enjoy it. However the food that was delivered to us during our stay was not that great, very less variation and the taste is way different than if we get it straight from the restaurant.

We had a very enjoyable stay could not fault the place in anyway the facilities are first class the breakfast was very good with plenty of choice all the staff are friendly and the place is very well maintained and very clean, after walking all around the area I would say it looks about the best hotel in the resort.

Pool area and bar are lovely and relaxing. Rooms are not a bad size for a city hotel, but two single beds pushed together, dressed separately to make a double bed isn't great to be honest when trying to make the break a romantic one. There'll be no new members to the family this break 😂😂😂. I requested a new room with a proper double bed and we got a lovely room with a sea view for a small extra fee which was definitely worth it. The staff in this hotel are fantastic, Toni, Laura, Cecilia, Abraham, Milan, Camilla are to name but a few. They are all brilliant and very very helpful. We will be back again in Spring. Thank you. John and Stacey.

We had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely look to return if needing accommodation in Las Palmas. All the staff we met and interacted with were very friendly and attentive. They realised it was my birthday during the stay and I was nicely surprised that they left a birthday message in the room for me. The pool area is nice and not too busy. The location right on Canteras beach is great too. Parking was readily available and definitely a plus. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on that but we ate and drank well at the plentiful local bars.

Traveled the whole world and this hotel will be in my top10. Nothing is wrong, many things are right. Wonderful staff. Great food and drink, excellent location with beach view and on the beach. Can’t ask for more, good prices too.

Phenomenal staff and service. We had misplaced an item and housekeeping was able to find it and returned it to our room the following day. Halfboard was well worth it. The hotel is in a great location for any exploring and traveling needs. Right near the beach and boardwalk. So many food options around in case if you dont get the halfboard.

Very nice and friendly staff - but I would say that the hotel is not quite a “5 star hotel”. So 5 stars for the staff but 4 stars for the building.

Great located hotel on the north of island. Lobby floor has an amazing sitting area with sea view. From my room was perfect sea view also. But rooms was a bit old and badly white painted. Breakfast was great and various for choice.

Nice hotel with a good location and friendly staff. Rooms are ok but could need a refurbishment as. It really up to date anymore. Breakfast is nice and a lot of choice.

Location and room. Most of the service personnel were professional but 2 encounters were not. My 23 yr old son was targeted by the reception staff as an "untraditional" guest and was asked, 3 times, to prove his identity while accessing the elevator to the 9th floor. Returning a rental car key to hotel reception, as requested by the car rental personnel, seemed to cause a lot of stress on the reception staff. One told me he wouldn't process the key because it wasn't the hotel car. He left me wandering the lobby looking for another staff person to help. The first day of rental was fine, but a 2nd rental was problematic. To receive 5 star status, these situations should not happen.

Decent hotel, could seriously benefit from AI upgrade from Half Board. For such a highly rated hotel, it's dissapointing there is no brew kit in rooms. Apart from that, food and staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful.

  • 4/5 Sergey C. 2 years ago on Google
Generally fine, but room service might be better. No bottle opener inside the room, but they do serve you just a usual spring water in glass with iron cover, which your simply are not able to open by your arms. Location is great and generally - good hotel with some improvements nice to have, as nobody perfect ...
