From
the
moment
I
stepped
into
La
Ventana
Azul
Surf
Hostel
in
Gran
Canaria,
I
knew
I
was
in
for
a
memorable
experience.
Nestled
in
a
picturesque
coastal
town,
this
charming
surf
hostel
is
amazing.
Not
only
did
it
offer
the
perfect
blend
of
relaxation
and
adventure,
but
it
also
brought
together
a
community
of
travelers
from
all
over
the
world.
Here's
a
glimpse
of
my
stay
at
La
Ventana
Azul,
where
the
turquoise
waves
and
friendly
faces
quickly
became
a
home
away
from
home.
Accommodation
and
Facilities:
The
hostel
itself
is
minimalistically
designed,
with
a
laid-back,
welcoming
vibe
that
sets
the
stage
for
a
fantastic
vacation.
Each
room
is
clean,
comfortable,
reflecting
the
local
culture
and
the
spirit
of
the
ocean.
The
dorms
offer
cozy
bunk
beds
and
storage
for
your
belongings.
The
private
rooms,
meanwhile,
offer
a
touch
of
luxury
for
those
seeking
a
bit
more
privacy.
La
Ventana
Azul
boasts
an
array
of
facilities
to
cater
to
every
traveler's
needs.
The
rooftop
terrace,
offering
sweeping
views
of
the
ocean
and
the
bustling
streets
below,
quickly
became
my
favorite
spot
to
unwind
after
a
day
of
surfing.
There's
also
a
well-equipped
communal
kitchen,
a
cozy
lounge
area
with
a
library
and
board
games,
and
surfboard
storage.
One
of
the
standout
aspects
of
my
stay
was
the
warmth
and
hospitality
of
the
staff.
Salva,
the
hostel's
manager,
and
Iza,
the
ever-smiling
volunteer,
went
above
and
beyond
to
make
sure
I
felt
welcomed
and
taken
care
of.
Their
passion
for
surfing
and
the
local
community
is
infectious,
and
they
were
always
eager
to
share
tips,
stories,
and
recommendations
for
exploring
Gran
Canaria.
One
of
the
unique
offerings
of
La
Ventana
Azul
is
the
opportunity
to
indulge
in
fresh,
organic
avocados
from
their
eco-farm.
These
creamy,
delicious
fruits
quickly
became
a
staple
of
my
meals,
adding
a
touch
of
local
flavor
to
them.
The
care
and
attention
that
goes
into
cultivating
these
avocados
are
evident
in
their
exceptional
taste.
La
Ventana
Azul
would
not
be
complete
without
mentioning
Dario,
the
hostel's
resident
BBQ
master.
Dario's
weekly
BBQ
nights
quickly
became
a
highlight
of
my
trip,
as
guests
gathered
around
the
grill
to
share
stories,
laughter,
and
mouthwatering
food.
His
ability
to
transform
simple
ingredients
into
culinary
masterpieces
is
truly
remarkable,
and
I
still
find
myself
dreaming
about
his
perfectly
grilled
Argentinian
meats
and
fresh,
flavorful
veggies.
Activities
and
Surroundings:
When
it
comes
to
surfing,
La
Ventana
Azul
is
in
a
prime
location.
With
a
variety
of
breaks
nearby,
there's
something
for
every
skill
level,
from
beginners
to
seasoned
pros.
The
hostel
also
offers
guided
trips.
Beyond
surfing,
there
are
countless
ways
to
explore
the
island's
natural
beauty.
Hiking
through
the
lush,
volcanic
landscapes,
taking
a
dip
in
the
crystal-clear
waters
of
hidden
coves,
or
simply
strolling
through
the
vibrant
streets
of
the
nearby
village,
there's
always
something
new
and
exciting
to
discover.
In
conclusion,
my
stay
at
La
Ventana
Azul
Surf
Hostel
was
an
unforgettable
experience
that
I
will
cherish.
The
warmth
and
hospitality
of
Salva,
Iza,
Noemi,
and
Dario,
combined
with
the
incredible
surfing
opportunities,
delicious
food,
and
stunning
natural
surroundings,
made
my
time
in
Gran
Canaria
truly
magical.
If
you're
looking
for
a
unique,
welcoming,
and
adventure-filled
getaway,
I
wholeheartedly
recommend
it.
Whether
you're
a
seasoned
surfer
or
just
looking
to
soak
up
the
sun,
this
hostel
is
the
perfect
place
to
create
lasting
memories
and
forge
new
friendships.
Despite
the
numerous
positives
of
my
stay
at
La
Ventana
Azul,
there
was
one
minor
area
that
could
be
improved
upon
to
enhance
the
overall
experience
for
surfers.
After
a
long
day
of
riding
the
waves,
it
would
be
extremely
helpful
to
have
a
large
bucket
or
tub
available
for
washing
wetsuits.
This
is
a
common
amenity
provided
by
many
other
surf
hostels,
and
its
addition
to
La
Ventana
Azul
would
make
the
post-surf
routine
more
convenient
for
guests.
