Great hiking day with the family+ one of the best birdwatching place in Gran Canaria ( we met eight kind of birds). Highly recommended! Stunning views!

We stopped here during our day driving through the mountains and valleys to stretch our legs, take in the scenery and use the facilities. Up here in the middle of the Canarian pine forest is a complete world away from the tourist strips down by the coast. It was peaceful, tranquil and we didn't see another soul whilst we were there. One word of advice - bring your own toilet paper!

A nice camping site not too far away from the Roque Nublo in the Hillside region of Gran Canaria. You have nearly no mobile phone connection at this particular place, so be aware of that. Still, everything else (bbq places, toilets, etc..) is in place. A good basecamp for hiking, jogging or several other outdoor activities or even as a meeting point to sit down with family & friends at a bbq for a one day trip and a short walk to Roque Nublo. 3 things you should keep in mind: 1. The place can get a bit crowd during the weekends, since Roque Nublo is a quite well visited point of interest. 2. If you camp there make sure, that you have received your permission to do so. Camping in this spot is only allowed with permission of the local authorities. 3. Yes, it's Gran Canaria, but since its next to the highest point of the island, it can get pretty cold during nighttimes. Warm clothing is as essential as at least a 3-season sleeping bag while camping there.

Sound a wonderful peaceful pine forest in the mountains. You can park here and there are tables under the trees to have a meal. Clean toilets nearby. We travelled here early morning and hardly anyone around apart from a family having breakfast. Also great place to hike from to go further up into the mountains to have lunch. We hiked up from here for a couple of hours and didn’t see anyone. Absolutely beautiful part of the country and so different from the beach resorts of Gran Canaria. You can’t be disappointed with some time here.

Really nice recreational area. With water, baths, benches and places where you can grill. Really nice for a picnic or grill with friends in the forest.

A wonderful nature park, with beautiful paths, viewpoints, excellent places for camping. Whether you are with a camper or with a tent, very nicely decorated, especially a broom for the barbecue. Recommended for everyone who loves nature and walking, especially in the summer months due to the difference in temperature .

Nice place for relaxing day. On weekends and holidays so busy.

We went here, not for a picknick or bbq, which seems like a great place for that! But we went for the short but very steep (unmarked) trail, from Llanos de la Pez to Pico de los Pozos. A trail 1300 meters horizontal, almost 300 meter vertical. Quite the workout, but worth the views! Make sure you don’t stay too long enjoying the sunset because going down the trail after sunset is another challenge.

We parked here to trek for Pico de las Nieves. Beautiful trek when weather was nice. Almost met no other people. Beautiful nature, breathtaking views along the trail. The trail itself (unlike others around) is quite well marked.

Good place to stop for some relaxing (or grilling if you want). There's ample space and opportunities for a nice picknick (also some toilets ... just bring your own toiletpaper). Nearby a lot of nice woods and "forest" to take a good hike. I liked it very much around here on my short stop-over on a geo-caching tour shortly before continuing to Roque Nublo in the late afternoon.

This place is absolutely great if you want to get away from a typical beach or city holiday. Very peaceful, in the middle of the mountains, surrounded by forests. Relatively easy to access, ple ty of parking, good public toilets, even BBQ facilities which can be used if the season is not too dry. It's a great place to go and elsx and disconnect.

Plenty of free parking under the trees. A great place to start a walk from. Also, an opportunity to see what the locals get up to on the weekends: they seem to mainly like to have a picnic or barbecue at the abundant picnic tables and then 'hang out' listening to music or playing ball games or just chilling. A pity we don't have such places or weather in England! Or probably the lack of guaranteed weather is why we don't have these places! There are toilets, fairly rudimentary but useful. No soap.

👍👍 Quaint, pretty little town perched on a hillside as most towns in the central hilly region of Gran Canaria are. There is a nice little medicinal plants museum in town, worth a visit for plant freaks. Entrance 2€. Cafes and restaurants seem to close by 6 pm. Found only 1 restaurant open at 6pm, but...

👍👍 A beautiful place to enjoy the sunset behind the mountains. There is also a restaurant, but in February it closes at 6 p.m. The drive from the south of the island, through the island over the mountains, was a natural spectacle with beautiful views. To top it all off, there was a beautiful sunset. Ha...

👍👍 I really liked the reservoir. After scouting in various places, with a bit of climbing and a short hike I found the perfect spot and I really enjoyed the views. Especially since the path through the mountains of Gran Canaria always offers magnificent views.
