We stopped off here on the way to Pico de las Nieves, as I had noticed a caldera on the map and we decided it would be worth a stop. We had already been to Caldera de Bandama and in comparison we didn't think this one was quite as immense. However, Caldera de los Marteles is definitely worth the stop even if you have already seen it's cousin, and as it is definitely beautiful. I'm not sure if you can walk down into this particular caldera, though if we had more time we would have given it a go if we were able. It's beautifully green and lush around here and the drive through the area is breathtaking. Definitely park up here for a bit on the way to the peak, it's a lovely stop with amazing views in all directions. Even the view from the opposite side to the caldera is stunning, so don't forget to look in both directions!

Amazing photo opportunity and relaxing view from almost top of the mountain. There's no real route so follow the outside of the fence until you...no longer can't.

Great view. There was a stall with a charming owner selling all sort of local delicacies. We bought a pack of lemon marzipan n a pack of dried figs. They were tasty. 😄
