Very interesting museum about the Guayadeque Gorge. In my opinion a must visit when visiting the gorge. It's not very big, but is reasonably priced. Explanations about the people that used to live there. Explanations about the forming of the gorge and the nature. Also a small gift shop. Part of the museum is in a cave itself. Recommended!

(Translated by Google) Russian should Ein schönes kleines Museum in einer Höhle. Great little cave museum. Worth coming off, if so and so you go to the valley. Admission is only 3 € (in groups cheaper). A couple of interesting exhibitions about the life of Gwancia and in general about Gran Canaria. There is a souvenir shop, but quite expensive. We looked and went further into the valley.

Went yesterday.. A great little museum only costs 3.5 euros but gives you a good insight into how the indigenous population of Gran Canaria lived. Absolutely loved it. The bit which struck me was how much the rain fall on the island has changed and how little the really is. It made me appreciate how precious rain is here as it's been thunder and lightning all day. I won't complain.. Is a blessing for the locals. The caves are incredible and the drive beautiful here a stark and beautiful contrast to the desolate South. Well worth the drive and so beautiful.

(Translated by Google) Fantastic, highly recommended. It is very careful, arranged, clean, exhibitions with very successful museum content and design, many reconstructions seem totally real, comprehensive information, inclusive of all areas from which you can study the ravine: geological, biological, climatological, cultural, historical, etc. The staff excellent, friendly, cordial and willing to help in everything. It impacts the location of the place and that the museum is practically a cave, the visit is wonderful. Ample free parking. Admission is € 2.5 for residents and € 3 for non-residents, a symbolic price compared to what they offer. There are also bathrooms and shop with books, pottery and souvenirs. It is easily reached if from the highway you take the road that leads to Agüimes and then, just before reaching the ravine, turn left, then there is only one direction that takes us directly to the interpretation center. It is also recommended to visit the ravine, the sites are not accessible due to their height but can be seen from below and there are other attractions in the area.

It's a good place to understand how people lived here 1500 years ago and then to continue on the road up to the cave houses.

(Translated by Google) The visit to the ravine is the one I liked most about the island because of its history and authenticity. The interpretation center and a good meal in the first restaurant will make you keep a good memory as it is my case. I highly recommend the visit and also the entrance is symbolic of € 3. You can buy souvenirs at a good price and quality of the island (Original) La visita al barranco es la que más me ha gustado de la isla por su historia y autenticidad. (Translated by Google) Here you can learn about the indigenous people of Gran Canaria and how they lived in the lava caves. Interesting overview of the gorges created by lava (Bco.). 3 € entry is OK. You should definitely drive to the end of the gorge. The various restaurants in the rock of the gorge can usually not be visited because of. the parking situation.

Definitely worth going to this small museum first before going up the valley! It's cheap (€3) and small so doesn't take long but gives you such an insight so you know what you are looking at! A little run down with a few lights out and not very modern but that didn't take away from the knowledge I gained - going up the valley wouldn't have been as exciting if I hadn't understood the history first!

A really interesting look at how the valley was formed, and how its caves have been inhabited for 1500 years. Excellent displays and explanations about the lives of the original aboriginal Canarians, and also the lives of the valley's more recent inhabitants. And it's only 3 Euros to enter!

  • 5/5 Jeroen M. 6 years ago on Google
Visiting this museum in your way in to the valley is a must for people that are interested in the history and archeological importance of the protected area. After seeing the photos and exhibits related to the barranco, you will be able to relate it to the real places once you continue your excursion up the valley. The museum might be a little oldfashion, it is still definitely worth your time.

Well worth visiting to see the lives of the original Canarian people. Also the volcanic geology and natural environment of the island. Some websites say the museum is permanently closed, this is NOT the case! The curator said it was closed during Covid like everything else, but is now fully open, we visited November 2022, good value at 4 euros each and no queue or crowding.

A very interesting museum situated in a beautiful stunning ravine. It was all about the original inhabitants of the valley, their lives, their homes, diet, water supply and flora and fauna. Their was some interesting artefacts and interactive water mill. Lots to see and read. My one negative is a lot I could not read everything as writing too high up and some to far away to read even with my glasses on. The writing was in 3 languages. Their was a small gift shop at the entrance and toilets. Their is a small fee and plenty of parking. We visited on our up the ravine valley to see the cave villages, which was good as we learnt all about them first.

Interesting collection showing the geological formation of the area and the human occupation of the area. There is a small entry fee but it is worth the charge. A small gift shop has unique items available to purchase. There are clean wc facilities available in the entrance ares.

Nice museum about how people used to live on the canaries, before the Spanish arrived. Plus some info about the geology of the island. After the visit, do drive up the ravine and the scenery is spectacular. There is a restaurant 5 min up the road from the museum.

Mielenkiintoinen pieni museo, joka kertoo alkuperäisasukkaiden elämästä. Museo sijaitsee osittain luolassa.
