Went here by we wanted to find a nice spot in downtown Vegas but do not eat here! Probably anywhere else you go will be better. I ordered the Chilean sea bass and lobster and the food was seasonless and lacking in flavor. The service was also so freaking terrible I almost couldn’t believe it at the price we were paying. Our waitress Beatrice only checked in with us twice, it took 45 min for our food to come out for just 2 people, and with absolutely no apology or consideration for our wait. The final straw for me was me was when we were ready to leave we waited for 30 min for our check and literally were held back because our waiter wasn’t checking in. Save your money

Everything we ordered was really good. Reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the lamb chops had a lot gristle, but had good flavor. For dessert we got the apple dumpling and it was fantastic!

Wonderful place tucked away for big portions and good food for around $100 per person. Main meat courses are a la carte but side dishes are big enough to share. Bread was ok.. Onion soup was delicious. Oysters were fresh. Asparagus could have used some seasoning. Ribeye was cooked medium rare to our taste. Prime rib was off menu but a special and definitely worth it! Prime rib is definitely enough for two to share as well.

Truly enjoyed my time at Redwood with my parents. My parents stays at the Cal every vacation and only now we had a chance to try it. For starters, the Escargot was amazing!, Dinner Rolls was perfect!, and the crab cakes were delicious (more crab than filling or breadcrumbs). For dinner, I had the surf and turf (ribeye and lobster tail) steak was a little tough but the flavors were good. I got to try my dads rack of lamb and that was better. Dessert, our crème brûlée was a perfect way to top off our dinner. Custard smooth and the fruits went well together. Service was top notch! Would come again with family!

We celebrated my Fiancé's 51st Birthday in Vegas. The service was great! I remember Heidi, can't remember the other Server, however they both rocked!

This was my first time trying a Fremont steakhouse. App raw oyster’s was excellent, wife tried the wedge salad mediocre. Main we split the prime rib it was excellent the horseradish was on point and the meat sits in au jus keeping the prime rib perfect. Desert crème brûlée middle of the road for Vegas standards. Service excellent. Overall for the price point quality 5 stars!

We were so excited to finally eat here, we had our reservations set a while in advance. Food was delicious, and so was the drink when it finally came. We were so disappointed in the service, our server passed us a few times after we were sat, with no acknowledgment, when she did come she was nice, but basically said I’m so busy if you need something you have to ask or don’t be afraid to say something, it was along those lines. When to me if I go out to eat, and pay those prices I would like the service to match, I don’t want to have to flag down my server every time I need or want something. The bread they give when you sit was good, but the food took awhile to come out and was more warm than hot. Not sure if she was just having an off day, I wish the Managers walked the floor to check and see where help may be needed. The busser was super friendly and tried her best but there’s only so much she could do.

We came to the Redwood steakhouse specifically for the prime rib, which was excellent as reviewed! The prime rib portion was the largest I've ever had, and it was perfectly cooked (medium for us!) Unfortunately, after the Sweet Maui onion soup and the gratis garlic bread, I could barely dent my Prime Rib (though I did manage to eat enough to know it's amazing!) My wife had the Miso Sea Bass which she also loved! We added the mashed potatoes and finished the meal off with shared Creme Brulee! Overall an excellent meal! The meal was made all the better by the friendly staff, especially Yul who was our server. He gave us a really great snapshot of the history of the California Hotel and Casino and it's historical ties the the Hawaiian islands!

Really had a bad experience eating dinner here for the first time. Went all out and had the large 10oz-12oz lobster tail. It looked good, but it was chewy, overcooked, and had a few pieces I couldn't eat because it was so chewy , like fat. If I am paying over $50 for a lobster tail, it better be out of this world. It was not. My husband had the ribeye, it was cooked perfectly medium rare, I tried it, but there was like NO seasoning on it. They did service rolls with butter, and a Parmesan butter sauce which was good. I had the halibut, it was HUGE for the price, the sauce was good with it, but I've had halibut a LOT of places in Vegas, this was just not that great at all. I ordered potatoes as a side. They were cut way too big, and most were raw in the middle! So we couldn't eat those. Service was ok, but nothing special. We won't be going back. Over $150 and left unsatisfied and hungry.

Monster Prime Rib End Cut cooked to Medium. 24 ozs of just meat. It was HUGE!!! This is a normal cut for the restaurant 24 ozs. It was very good but that was a lot of meat. This cut is better off shared.

No King crab legs anymore. They have Dungeness for replacement. Don't know about the price though. Had the ribeye 22oz. Was good.

I had a new York strip . It was like a old boot vary to chew. Good coffee. Price was not worth the steak.

Surprised by great food, service and atmosphere. Didn't expect this at the California Hotel. Thought is was a vacation spot for Hawaiians because of less expensive packages. Chef's dishes were one of a kind. Quality of meats excellent. Had the pork chops from specially grown pigs. So tender and delicious. I had quit ordering pork chops at any restaurant as they're not tender enough. My nephew's scallops were perfectly prepared as he likes them cooked just slightly over rare. I heartily recommend Redwood Steakhouse for visiting family and friends.

The food here was incredible. Literally compliments to the chef who stopped by and fist bumped me. The best crab cake I’ve ever eaten. The steak was perfect, and so were the sides. Even my mom doesn’t make mashed potatoes this good! The server recommended a fantastic red wine to accompany the steak. I didn’t have room for dessert, but he brought me mints! I highly recommend this place, and it is half the price of nearby steakhouses. My only negative comment was with the hostess. She tried a couple times to sit me at a table in the bar area right next to the door to the smokey casino because I was a solo diner. I am not paying these prices for a meal to be stuck at a table like that. One more item. I know old fashioneds can be made a variety of ways, but nobody I know is looking for chipped ice and soda water filler. One big cube and straight bourbon, please.

We are steak people. We have tried a variety from middle to very high end. Redwood would not be a repeat for us if we wanted a steak. The service was good, everyone was very friendly, and accommodating. We had the surf and turf, scallop and shrimp over orzo, and asparagus. The lobster tail was delicious, tender, and well cooked. Same for the scallops, not rubbery, very tender, well cooked. Now, the steak was a decent size for a petite, cooked to the right temperature, but was very chewy, hard to cut, and lacked overall flavor. If not for the seafood and service, the rating would be lower. Overall, for the price tag, my expectations were higher, and the bar was not met.

Wow! Exceptional service. They got our family event in last minute and accommodated our large party so nicely. We all got steak. Cooked well. It was kid-friendly too. We sat on the Noodlehouse side and it was beautiful. My 97 year old grandfather had his first filet mignon and loved it! Enjoy!

Myself and 2 others visited Vegas for 3 days and by far the best experience we had was at the Redwood Steakhouse. I never write reviews but I was compelled to do so just to share my sincere appreciation and enjoyment. The food was fantastic. Both our Prime Rib and NY Steak were cooked to perfection. Absolutely delicious and extremely well priced. Beyond the food though, the service has to be praised. Our server, Yul, was so great. Knowledgeable, helpful and kind. And alongside Yul there was Kathleen who was the Supervisor. She was outstanding. So so kind to us all and she went out of her way multiple times to make our experience an unforgettable one. I don't want to write too much so that readers won't be turned off by how much I could go on and on about the Redwood. If you are in town, go to the Redwood. Enjoy the food. Enjoy the atmosphere. But most of all, surround yourself with good people who genuinely care about you. Thank you Kathleen, Yul and everyone else that helped make our dining experience a lasting memory.

So the setting of the steakhouse was great. The lighting great and the table set up was nice. As for the beer was flat. It tasted like they had it cold then hot then cold again. As for the food it was good. I got Porter house which was good, it needed a little bit more flavoring. The sides of Mac n cheese and mash potatoes were great. Overall the experience was good since it was our first time.

Wonderful experience. Quality food and portions. The Maui onion soup was outstanding, lamb chops with parings. Phenomenal. Ribeye was a lil undercooked but next time I'll do med/well. Our server Yul was terrific. We will be back soon for another great experience.

Good but pricey steakhouse in the heart of downtown las vegas freemont street. Hot rolls. Needed a little more variety. Maybe a chicken or two options. A couple more vegetables. Nice, attentive staff. Lamb dinner cooked how I liked it. Macoroni was luke warm. Needed to be hotter. Needed to be Hot and bubbly when gave to us. Overall, a good experience.

Honestly the food was pretty tasty! We had the tuna tartar, French onion soup, the cioppino, 22oz ribeye, asparagus, mushrooms and baked potatoe. Jesus and Antonia were very attentive and amazing! Would definitely go back again!

The food was fantastic. We had the bone-in ribeye, which was perfectly cooked and so flavorful. The mashed potatoes were sublime. I would also recommend the creme brûlée! If ambience is important to you, make sure you’re seated on the left side of the restaurant. The right side used to be a more casual noodle restaurant and is not the same vibe. Staff was friendly. Overall good experience.

Plus side: friendly & good service, pretty good variety on menu. Not so plus side: food was only OK (had scallops and shrimp). I didn't have prime rib this trip, so that might have been the issue (prime rib is usually quite good).

Service was fantastic. Food, not so much. My wife ordered a well done steak. It was medium at best. Potatoes were flavorless. Mushrooms were actually cold. Extremely disappointed
