This has the makings of a wonderful national monument. However, since it is so new as of 2014 there is no visitors center, and the Monument is barely marked. So at this point it's a glorified dog walk park. Given time and resources it'll be a wonderful place to visit especially with the rich pre-ice aged history. This area was home to camels, lions, mammoths and other now extinct species. Now as the park is protected the specimens still located in the strata here will be preserved for many generations.

In A Nutshell: -Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument is good for those of you seeking asylum. -If you want to experience what it feels like to be in the middle of a desert landscape w/ some unique dirt mound formations, some Joshua Trees scattered here & there w/ a dry/cracked creek bed, then come. -It's a good place to clear your mind. -I've seen multiple ATV tracks, so people must come here to ride. -In addition, I've seen many bullet shell casings so people must illegally come to shoot, which I do not recommend as it's FEDERAL PROPERTY. Overall, you literally must drive to the edge of Las Vegas' civilization border to enter this park. I assume many locals who live in the nearby neighborhood probably frequent this park the majority of the time.

Monumental. A new National Park Service site, Tule Springs is raw and pristine. Get there before everyone else gets there. There is a trailhead some vague directions and a few trail markers. It’s hard to get lost though because it’s so flat and you can see for miles in all directions. Careful as you explore because the trails are not well groomed. I think my favorite thing was that I was there all by myself and could breathe in the desert air.

Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument here in North Las Vegas, was declared a national monument by the National Park Service in 2014, and whats the most amazing thing to me, is the fact that there is a 22,000-acre fossil bed that has had paleontological Ice Age discoveries that date as far back as 250,000 years ago, sitting smack dab in the heart of a NW Las Vegas suburb, its just amazing if you think about it. The fossil bed is a perfect place to relax and get away while still being 5-10mins away from the city. Its a beautiful place to really relax and have a peace of mind (also dig for fossils if thats your thing:) Now keep in mind, the area hasn't been fully developed yet by the National Park Service. So there are no restrooms etc, only a few informational signages and plenty of parking. It's pretty much just you and nature out there. But if serene is your thing, TSFB has it....

Cool place to check out! Great place to take your dogs or just for a walk. You can also ride your bike here too. Good picture spot as well. This place is also a lot bigger than you'd think. No bathrooms here. No tables or anything. But just good walking and hiking.

On February 12,2022 my car window was broken and a backpack and cooler bag were taken. I do not have glass insurance. We do not leave anything of value in the car. Otherwise, I love this place. We usually walk in and park at the park on Sky Pointe and go to the end of that road....where the sidewalk ends.

Beautiful place. Lately people have not been picking up after their dogs here. An extremely disrespectful act to this park, the community, and the environment. When you visit Tule Springs, and find this issue still exist. Please do not hesitate to report it, to Park administration. We can all work on keeping Tule Springs a pleasant place for everyone to Enjoy.

A pretty new monument just 20 minutes north of the Vegas strip. It’s so isolated, there’s no restrooms, marked trails, or visitors center. We had the place all to ourselves and it’s gorgeous with the landscape behind it. The formations are incredible, and a nice escape from the flash of the strip of you want to get some peacefulness.

Close to Las Vegas. The south trail was a nice three mile stroll but it felt like walking through a piece of land about to be developed. The geological interpretations were interesting. The north entrance trail (Durango) was much better. I would definitely recommend this one!!

I would give this 5 stars - merely for the beauty of the rock formations, flowers, and wild life. However, there was a lot of beer bottles smashed and graffiti on the rock walls. It's really aggravating that anyone would feel the need to do that, people should respect nature and leave it as it was before. It was like a small Grand Canyon, cliffs and pathways, valleys, caves, arch ways. A nice relaxing walk with mountains on all sides. It's amazing what nature is capable of.

Dear fellow rock hound, I had the pleasure of visiting an incredible fossil bed recently and I simply cannot contain my excitement about it! The fossil bed is located in the heart of a stunning national park, surrounded by breathtaking views of mountains and forests. As soon as I arrived at the site, I was struck by the sheer abundance of fossils on display. The fossil bed is believed to be millions of years old, and it's amazing to see so many fossils preserved in such incredible detail. The diversity of fossils was truly remarkable, ranging from ancient corals and sponges to mollusks and trilobites. But what really blew me away were the dinosaur fossils. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the enormous bones and teeth of long-extinct species such as Tyrannosaurus Rex and Triceratops. The dinosaur fossils were so well-preserved that it almost felt like they were still alive! As a rock hound, I was also fascinated by the geology of the site. The fossil bed is situated in a layer of sedimentary rock, which gives us a unique insight into the environment and climate of the area millions of years ago. I spent hours examining the different layers of rock and trying to imagine what life would have been like during that time. Overall, I highly recommend visiting this fossil bed to any fellow rock hound out there. It's an experience that you won't soon forget, and it's sure to leave you with a newfound appreciation for the incredible history of our planet.

We were pleasantly surprised when we visited this national monument. As others have said and there’s no restrooms available or visitor center. Your appreciation will likely match your knowledge of fossils; however, the views are beautiful and there are plenty of photo ops. We got our passport stamped at Lake Meade NRA.

We've been to many National Monuments and they are almost all amazing. Although this new monument has potential it currently was a bit disappointing. There is a sign at the entrance but once you get inside the monument there is no directional or informational signage which would have been very nice. While there was some interesting geology and it was a nice place to walk the dog we didn't come out with any further knowledge of fossils. There was definitely a decent amount of trash littered about as well which was a bit of a detractor as well. With a little clean up, better signage and maybe a visitors center this could be really a cool area but still a ways to go.

There are great hiking trails for pets, bikers, and those who just want some hills. Bring plenty of water. It was excellent to capture the beautiful sunrise. See the storm moving into Mt. Charleston and the great views of the valley.

It was my first time at this National Park. I never knew we had Fossil Beds so close to home. Not to many people were there. This place is good to visit during fall or early mornings during summer days as it has no shade. Didn’t see to much vegetation but its a dessert so cant expect much. The scenery is nice and to know that there is so much history makes it a well worth visit.

If you ride a bike, you will love this area. Jumps and trails for miles and miles. If you just want to walk around, DON'T go in the summer time. When the weather is cooler you can wander around and get a good jog or walk amongst the small rocky outcrops. Nothing to see but rocks and crusted mud.

Parking was easy. There is a 2.5 miles trail but you can pretty much walk around anyway you like. There are many interesting rocks. A fun place to go.

Well... it's a lot more interesting than we expected and we will come back. On the surface it doesn't look like anything but once you cross the barrier fence and approach the dunes of dirt, it becomes clear that you're standing in the middle of a deep bed of fossils. Apparently long ago this area was the bed of an inland ocean. I say ocean because I am unaware of corral in a fresh water lake... but who knows. Back in the day before this area was designated a national monument we would offroad in the area but never really paid any attention to the enormous amount of coral and other fossil that cover every square foot of ground in this area. Drawbacks... it is trashed up pretty bad. There is very little signage or anything to explain what you can expect to see. But catch a cool fall or spring morning or evening because otherwise its HOT and there is no shade, water, restrooms, or other accommodations anywhere nearby....

Nice little desert hike. There's *some* trash, but the reviews here exaggerate it a bit. Really nice views of the mountains and a decently marked trail loop to follow. There are three different hiking areas - this one is the furthest out (and probably the cleanest). Coolest part is you are literally on the edge of the Las Vegas Metro area, so it's cool to see the juxtaposition. Also - parking is free and there are maps at the trailhead.

Not the most exciting nature in Vegas but nice to walk around if you’re in the area. Not very developed, no restrooms and about 10 parking spots but on the edge of the city so should be plenty of spots.

If you go to the end of Durango, it is peaceful. There is some trash from not so clean Vegas people but it is nice walking on top of the beds. There are a few "doorways" that make it easy to get to the top. Some areas were used as a dumping ground. However where I was today, was quiet and the soft breeze was refreshing.

An awesome location with a huge layer of fossils. I‘m not skilled in this, but I found lots of stony branches or what ever it was. But there are obviously lots of people who have fun throwing bottles on the ground of the valley. So you can find widespread glass shards on the area - someone even burned his waste! How awful

very nice and relaxing place. some nights there's a black ram truck that drives up and down with red and blue lights on, he's not a cop, not sure who he is, but other then that, a wonderful place to sit back and relax,

Interesting rock formations but we were disappointed with the trail. We sca Ned the QR code for the trail stops description but they're is no signage telling you where you are, at which stop. Maybe it's better from the other entrance.

Followed Waze and Google maps to this location. The plan is to leave the car on the street and walk the trail. No trees, no shade at all. Just one small information plaque. Perhaps it’s not a good idea to try this when hot and sunny. Went somewhere else instead.

Really cool spot to come around and explore! Can’t wait to see how the National Park Service will to develop/preserve this fascinating site

It was fun to wander around in the desert and we saw some cool petrified wood and unique rocks. But we didn't see any bones or evidence of ancient life. It just wasn't what I was expecting.
