This museum has one large and well used gallery space smartly divided into smaller exhibitions. This presents well curated and always diverse collections of artists’ work. The artists are from various backgrounds and points of view. What I was told was the only art museum in Las Vegas, is an absolute gem. The museum has a strong connection to the community and the region. I visited for a second time recently after four months. This allowed me to see another grouping of works. I was able to see the consistency of high-level artists with diverse perspectives and thought-provoking exhibitions. The staff is friendly and helpful. There’s also a small sitting area with several chairs to relax, to read the books connected to the exhibitions that are provided, or just to allow absorption of the works exhibited. The Barrack Museum of Art is such a critical cultural asset to the community. A must visit.

Although this free museum wasn't quiet what I was expecting, I was pleasantly surprised at the refreshing and unique art exhibitions. Is this a place I would recommend to bring children... yes because the art is made from simple things which could inspire them and others to be creative 😆 Please like if you liked my post

I frequently stop by this museum to see what's new. They have some amazing shows from both local and nationally known artists. It's very small but free to the public and one of the only fine art destinations in Las Vegas. Photos are from the April 2019 show "Sorry for the Mess."

Barrick gets less praise than it deserves because parking sucks. However, if you are a student who likes art, it is a great place to take a break and think.

Attended an event opening here and was impressed by the community turn out, the collaboration between artists, and that they had several of the artists whose work was exhibited there to talk about their pieces.

I recommend it. Exhibits are interesting and the gallery is fairly small, so spending 30 to 45 minutes is realistic .

i went here in 4th grade as field trip and it was amazing there was a cool little art center for kids and they can make their own art. I drew a house with trees and bushes and mountains i had a good time in 4th grade

This is really attractive with a lot on display which surprised me! Nice winding paths and cacti and flowers and landscaping. Very nicely done and great for us locals because we can go again and again! The best thing about it is that it is free, so relax, enjoy yourself and take your time here! I guarantee you will love it and it's a nice break when you're walking that way all day! Love it and love UNLV, oh yes, I went there for daytime classes and also in the evenings! Took a class in bankruptcy there too, so thanks! ❤️💕😎🥰👣

Probably the highlight of my visit. I was looking for something more than the typical vegas experience and this was a hidden gem. So much talent and so many voices in such a small space but it isn't overwhelming or crowded. Everything has its own place and It's own space. I'm amazed that it's free and there was no one there for theongest time I was able to be alone and immerse myself in the talent of other artist.

This is a hard-working art museum where you can experience local and International contemporary art. Great for the entire family with some Interactive work (depending ob the exhibition). View their small wing of pre-columbian sculptures as well. One of our finest gems in southern Nevada!

Such unique and cool place to explore. I’m always bitter about contemporary art but felt so amazed with all the mediums and how curated and unorthodox in the best way possible the collection was built. And beyond of all it’s free to admire. For all and for everyone - truly a gem!

Take QUARTERS...! The parking is basically for students and staff. All others have to park at meters. Hardwood floors, lighting and ceiling make this a great place to visit.

Couldn't view due to they had a long weekend for veterans holiday. But the worker Manny was super nice and told us about another art thing that was going on. That was super sweet.

Nice quiet place to study, plus it is free for the public. The art exhibits don't change very often and the hours are very limited. Call a head of time. Call my boy...his name is Guatapak!

Free museum on UNLV campus. The current exhibit was rather eclectic, with a mix of visuals and sound.

The Community Arts Day featured a show called Sorry for the Mess. This show honors the people that are usually invisible janitors and others that work to make places better. Much of the artwork was done on paper or cardboard (reclaimed from the dumpster no less.) The show featured Murrky Waters on vibraphone. He premiered a 20 minute piece written especially for this show. For kids there wasalso a story time every hour. For everyone there were many tables set up so everyone could make their own art. And there was free parking.

Top place to see while visiting UNLV. Free entry and the front desk also has informative campus maps and temp exhibitions. It’s not the biggest museum but it’s great to kill an hour soak in some cold A/C.
