Excellent museum! Admission is included with a ticket to the entire Springs Preserve park. This museum took us nearly 30-45 minutes and had plenty of different types of exhibits. From animal remains and fossils, to Las Vegas history throughout the years. Event center and very kind friendly, definitely check this place out! Admission is only $10 and includes the remainder of the 180 acre property.

Do yourself a favor and buy a ticket! Tickets are $9 and under, yearly memberships offered and parking is completely free. The exhibits are very interactive for families of all ages. This place includes a large botanical garden, several main exhibits, natural habitat exhibit which features live insects and animals that kids would love! - (foxes, butterflies, spiders, lizards, rabbits, scorpions, tarantulas), free train rides to Boomtown, hiking trails, amphitheater, conference rooms with amazing views (great for meetings or networking events), and a cafe overlooking the strip. The food was delicious! Lattes, smoothies, chai teas, ciabatta sandwiches, burgers, potato fries, salads, they also include kids menu, & lots of Vegan and Vegetarian options as well. Very clean restrooms and elevators all over. Wheelchair accessible for all attractions including the train. A ton of really exciting history of Nevada and the Las Vegas area. It’s a must see - You’re going to love this place!!

This whole facility is awesome. Today we visited the state and origen museums. Both were fantastic. They are very well put together, detailed and the descriptions are an easy read with pertinent information. We love to read about everything and this was just enough but also not overwhelming to someone who just wants to casually learn. There are many interactive exhibits that kids and adults would enjoy. They have multiple "little shows" that are fun but really help kids understand the history of Nevada. There is something for everyone at Spring's Preserve.

The museum it’s self was wonderful and very educational. I learned a lot about the history of Nevada, it’s wildlife, and resources. I will say some parts of the museum were dark and missing labels. The man running the museum gift shop however was a very unpleasant man. He was racist towards the family in front of me. They were just asking about the price of some gem stones. He raised his voice and said “DO YOUN UNDERSTAND ME” in a slow condensing way. Then when I went up to the counter I asked if they did cash back. He didn’t give me a straight up answer. Then I told him I just want some change for the penny machine. He then put his hand in front of my face and said when I wave my hand to the left and right it means no, as he waves it. Then he moves his hands up and down saying that means yes and since he waved it up and down it meant no. He could’ve used his words like a grown adult instead of treating me like I’m dumb. I will be calling the director about this.

This is a neat place to enjoy some time with the family. It's more of an experience for kids , while adults can hang back in a more laid back setting away from the traffic and crazy Las Vegas can offer. It almost feels like you're in a different world. It's even nice just to get out of the house/ hotel for that out door vibe. The museum and other displays are great.

Went to see the Nevada State museum current exhibition: "Liberace: Real and Beyond", which runs from June 24, 2023 to December 31, 2023. This exhibition celebrates the life and legacy of Liberace, the legendary performer on the Las Vegas Strip. You can see some of his dazzling costumes, pianos, jewelry, cars, and religious items, as well as learn about his contribution to classical music and his influence on contemporary pop culture. The exhibition also explores his personal side, such as his devotion to Catholicism and his passion for cooking. The exhibition is co-produced by the Liberace Foundation for the Performing and Creative Arts, which maintains the Liberace Museum Collection in Las Vegas. It was amazing to see his extravagant outfits and accessories up close, and to learn more about his remarkable career and personality. He was truly a unique and talented entertainer who left a lasting mark on Las Vegas and the world. I especially liked seeing his Faberge costume, his diamond-studded piano.

I visited this museum on a Monday. Not busy at all. Staff was very friendly. I love how the museum has both permanent exhibits and temporary exhibits as I have an annual membership to visit thru Spring Preserve. Temporary exhibit: black history exhibit honoring Paul R. Williams, architect who built homes for African Americans in Vegas and celebrities in Los Angeles. Beautifully captured photographs of the buildings and history on this icon. Permenant exhibit: Nevada history including casino memobilia and show girl costumes ( my fave) ...and of course desert stuff lol Giftshop was cute, but I didn't purchase anything. Robots: no robots defected

A delightful experience. Very educational, very relaxing, and a wonderful place for both adults and children. My kids love the old western exhibits and the dinosaurs of course. We visit, we explore, and we learn. Name the setting and its a great idea for a visit. Kids can walk around while the parents relax, or a date perhaps! The building is clean and well maintained. Bathrooms are aleays clean ans stocked. Staff is ready to help and very knowledgeable. Sometimes we forget we need this time to ourselves and this is a great place to visit to have that time.

Another great fine in Las Vegas! A wonderful opportunity to spend the day exploring the expansive lush grounds of springs preserve. From the museums to the gardens to the trails and the beautiful butterfly exhibit, good times were had. Good for all ages, I will be back to further explore and hopefully grab a bite at the Divine Cafe. Divine Cafe has seating that overlooks the grounds. I definitely recommend checking this place out.

Fabulous place to spend a few hours with kids or a good place to learn more about Nevada’s history. The food and views are great too! The wildlife is authentic and beautiful, I’m so glad Vegas has a place like this which is so inexpensive to visit or go to for special events.

Very huge place with a lot of education value. Many many cool stuff and animals and insects. We wanted to go the the butterfly garden but it's only open seasonally (assuming it's spring?)

The special events (usually for kids) changes weekly. Our kids have a great time, every time. It is clean, cool, and the volunteers and staff are always so eager to teach and are so polite. We love coming and learn something new every trip.

I remember this as a kid. It's moved around a few times and settled in at the springs preserve. Entrance to one gets you into both. It is basic but well done. The building is massive and looked to be multi story, but it is one level. Lots of info on Nevada past

The museum was impressive. It contained a natural history and state history exhibit with an additional third changing exhibit. If you are really into museums, I would say it will take you around 1-1.5 hours to see everything.

A very nicely done set of museums. The museum displays are nice and not too crowded. There is an effort to incorporate sound and give a taste of the natural environment. The museums at the complex cover both history and natural history - there are displays with artifacts that tell the story of Nevada's history and factors such as evolving climate, religious colonization, mining, transportation, military bases, infrastructure, and entertainment industries and how they shaped Nevada. The museum works to incorporate Native American, female, Latin, and POC perspectives. The Nevada State Museum caters more to adults, and the Origen Museum caters more to kids. Both museums are family friendly. The complex is large with a simulation of canyons among the walkways and an outdoor theater. Good experience.

Exploring this museum was a thought-provoking and enlightening experience. The exhibits were arranged in a way that seamlessly guided me through different topics and eras. The museum's dedication to sharing diverse perspectives and stories was evident in the breadth of content. The staff's passion for education and engagement was palpable, and their willingness to answer questions made the visit both engaging and interactive. This museum is a valuable resource for those seeking a deeper understanding of our world's history and culture.

Very clean, and very educational! It was a very peaceful experience, and the view when you exit through the back was very nice. The permanent exibit is always my favorite, and it always has been!! I highly recommend going as well as checking out the actual springs preserve park!

Decent place for it's size. You pay for park entrance (the museum is inside the park) so you're not restricted to just the museum.

There is so much to see here! You really go on an adventure from the big bang to what climate change will do to the world in a few hundred years.

We absolutely LOVE this place!! And fully intend on going back, many times! There's so much to see and do that it can't all be done in one day. Even if it could, I'd still go back. It has something for everyone and of every age.

This is an ok museum by itself with an arboretum that is pleasing to the eyes, however, compared to other State Museums around the nation, especially Austin, TX, Albany, NY , Cheyenne, WY and even Trenton, NJ, this one leaves much to be desired. It looks like the displays were more or less thrown together without much thought or depth.
