One would think they were transported to somewhere in the Midwest. I have lived in Vegas for 40 years and never experienced this much natural greenery here. In one of the hottest months of the year, the is a river of water rushing to Lake Mead. Quite an anomaly to see this much water in the middle of a region so desperate for rain. Once there, it is a good idea to study the map well. Traveling on the extensive trail system it is easy to get turned around and lost. It would take a few hours to see all there is without traveling up the wash. One sign says no bikes or dogs, but further in there is a sign stating you must walk your bike over the bridge. Since the trails are not that wide, a bike could be hard to use with a few people in the way. There are a lot of critters, so I guess dogs could disrupt their habitat. It is a must for parents to let their children, especially if born in Vegas, to see that the world is not all brown and dry. We only spent a couple of hours and traveled less than half of the trails and missed going through the museum. It would be at least 1/2 day to see most of what the park has to offer. It is very well maintained without the graffiti and destruction seen in many trails. If visiting in the summer bring water. The river is not potable.

First visit to the wetlands was during Easter. It was amazing to see the water, plants, and animals in the middle of the desert. The walking trails are either paved or dirt roads and very easy to navigate. Dogs are only allowed on some paths. The breeze blowing through the reeds was beautiful. It was a great afternoon.

Friday morning around 10am, it was sunny but a little bit chilly. We first went to the visitor center and the guy that we first saw was super nice. He gave us a map and explained to us what are the trails that would be nice to go. He was very helpful and friendly. We also visited the lizard lounge and the gift shop. The lady from the shop was very nice also.

I got introduced to this park from a friend way back in college. So happy to know this little sanctuary in Vegas. Went for a refreshing morning stroll with my boyfriend. Great place to escape the city, beautiful views of the Vegas skyline though. Trails are paved well too. Good place to bring kids and there are public restrooms available as well. Definitely should go visit. 😃

One of my favorite places in all of Las Vegas. Largest park in Clark County! Lots of walking and bike trails as well as wildlife and scenery. Great place to walk around!

Pretty nice place for bird watching.. Huge beautiful white pelicans can be seen roaming the waters.. Crazy large cool thorns on these trees! Beavers obviously here from the chewed up trees and other wildlife leaving their trails and marks in the brush… Nice place to relax and take a walk…

Such a wonderful place to escape the bustle of the city at least temporarily. If you want a nice place to go at night and look over the city the wetlands has a magnificent lookout area of the entire Vegas Valley. I love this place and will always come here to help clear my mind on any of the trails or the lookout. Also the photos are of the sunset at the look out I mentioned, this land is seriously amazing!

Beautiful park with nice trails! The pathways are clearly marked and there's so much to see, especially wildlife. Visitor center was very informative and the gift shop has some cute, affordable items.

We love Wetlands Park! We come here frequently to walk, and of course to see the beautiful sceneries, specially when it is sunset time. No entrance fee. There are many trails to choose from, and many wildlife as well. Be prepared though that as you get near the area where there is water (near the big bridge), you'll experience the unpleasant smell from the wastewater, and often times, too many bugs as you approach that area. Other than that, the place is a perfect spot to unwind and be with nature. Many times, I've seen people doing portrait and landscape photography here, and that's not surprising because sceneries at Wetlands are the perfect backdrop!

The park is fairly small but still enjoyable. The boardwalk area with the pond is peaceful especially with the wildlife you can see in that surrounding area.

A tranquil nature retreat just 30 mins away from the iconic Las Vegas Strip. The Wetlands Park is a 210-acre nature preserve full of trailheads that wind through the desert landscape, eventually giving way to a series of stunning water features. This spot is perfect for birdwatchers, hikers, and those seeking an escape from the downtown city environment. As a photographer, the Wetlands is always my go to for capturing local models, influencers, and couples. The range of diverse settings is spectacular.

Very cool place!! The indoor center was fascinating and full of fun facts. Kids would love it here! This place outside is huge so be sure and bring good shoes and sunscreen. We saw birds, rabbits and a road runner. Didn't see many lizards but we enjoyed what we did see.

Amazing place to enjoy nature and peacefulness. Big bonus is that it is free to enjoy. It is mindbogling that such a place exists in the middle of a desert. One disheartening aspect , is the lowlifes who believe it is okay to litter throughout the Wetlands. Highly recommend visiting and hiking through it

During a global Excessive Heat Wave living off-the-grid outside isn't cool. Tee-hee. In fact it can turn deadly if you find yourself without water and shade on these scorching hot Record-Breaking days. My husband and I went to the Wetlands to find these things and ran into several like-minded individuals at the park. We sat at the picnic tables under the metal gazebos for shade. They worked well and we stayed longer than originally planned because of it. We met many colorful individuals coming through and enjoyed ourselves. I decided to check out the bathroom for this review and took photos. They bathrooms were modestly designed with the most basic amenities. They were semi cool, clean, and well stocked with toilet paper, but boasted no soap. The sinks had running water, however there were no towels to dry your hands with. Adequate sure. But I've seen better. Then I walked over to the drinking fountain to refill my jug and was disappointed to learn they had turned it down so low that a mere trickle came out (see photo). The second fountain was dry as well. Then I looked down to see my friend refilling his jug at the doggie fountain and realized just how low we rated in the water-worthy category. Boo. All and all, we enjoyed ourselves. However during the summer especially, EVERY park should be required to provide a clean working drinking fountain in order to be open. If I had just hiked 7 miles in the heat only to discover there was no water, I would have been livid. Note to Wetlands Park: Please don't wait until someone drops dead from heat stroke before remedying this enormous problem. Otherwise, thank you for the experience.

I love jogging on the many trails in this park. There is so much wildlife and places to explore. It is also a great place to watch the sunrise using the paths that lead east of the park.

Neat little place that gets forgotten about a lot. Different entrances. The back side has an amazing view of the city. There's bike trails, hiking trails, and lots for you to see. Also a cool little cave. Slippery rocks so just be prepared if you're walking around.

107 degrees on a humid 4th of July, and this place is still a sight to see. I'm keeping hydrated like gangbusters as the sunscreen melts down my face and onto my shirt. So many others taking the hike, moving in different directions. Shirtless men, shielding their faces from the limitless sun. Wait... is that woman pushing a baby, or is my imagination cooked? And then the sun withers behind the clouds and we're free again to enjoy the local art and the bountiful nature.

Every time I go always see something new and never gets old. Wetlands is so beautiful and kind of a hidden treasure in Vegas. I recommend going early in the morning before it is too hot in the hot desert weather time. These are some photos from just this morning.

It's not for me. I do like some greenery around. But who am I kidding. I am in the middle of Las Vegas. I assumed there would be some amount of green. Well, there was some. This would be a nice ave to visit during early morning hours of at sunset. Would visit again sometime. I have had enough dehydration for a week.

We have made it a priority to go to the park when we visit Las Vegas. My grandson who was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base introduced us to the Wetlands Park many years ago. We will absolutely visit again! We are from Boise Idaho.

Wetlands is a great place to walk around. You can walk to the river that feeds lake mead. So depending if a storm has hit the city the size of the river can change.

There are nice paved paths with some benches along the way. Definitely a nice walk in the colder months. Would be nice if there was more shelter to get out of the sun in the hotter months. We saw a lot of different birds including hawks and quail. 2 nice sized ponds with a calming stream.

A fun pocket of nature in the middle of the desert. The nature center has friendly staff and an interactive learning area for kids, plus events throughout the year. It's great in the early mornings for some light exercise and seeing all the critters while they're active. It's a great place to see nature being conserved and honored.

It was great to the trails. I was driving from a conference and I decided to stop. It is the best way to do things. If you wait for things to happen to you, you’ll be wait a long time. I ruined my shoes and tore a hole in my pants, but it was worth it.

This is a nice place for a hike or bike ride. It is close to Lake Las Vegas, so you can stop at the Village for some food or shopping too. The wetlands seem to dry up a lot in summer time though. Be careful with pets, because packs of coyotes are known to roam this area. We see them more at night, but we also see them during the day at times.

This park has great running trails and plenty of parking. The down side is that it stinks. Like a petting zoo, or a sewer. And the bugs. There are little biting flies and no amount of bug spray will keep them away. There are often families her taking portraits so it can be a bit busy near sunset time.

It's been a over 2 years since I last visited Wetlands Park. I corrected that today with a quick drive through with my nephew late in the day. It has changed (added and improved). It was great before but so much more now ... Will go back soon when it's earlier in the day and weI have a few hours to explore the Visitor Center and take some new walks. It's a great place.

Nice views. They could stand to put a few more maps around the trails though. The restroom (outhouse, really) near the center of the nature preserve had no hand sanitizer or handwashing station. That was pretty gross, fortunately we had our own handsanitizer but there really should be something there.

Awesome oasis in the southeastern part of Las Vegas, this is where the riverbed running through LV ends up at. There's a water reclamation center and tons of foliage and animal life. The community and workers are always making improvements to the park and it keeps getting bigger&the landscape is always changing.
