Recommended by the bartender from Atomic Liquors, this place was great. The interior reminded us of the galley of a ship, or castle. It has a huge bar that runs the length of one side. Manned by knowledgeable bartenders who know how to mix a drink, this place stands out on Fremont. The bouncer was hilarious! A man who truly must love his job. That set a great vibe to the visit.

Nice cozy place for a (quality) drink with great selection. The cute shorter brunette was really nice to deal with but the taller one in the ponytail had some serious attitude. If you don't enjoy your line of work, get a different job!

First time going and I went to see some doom metal bands. Drinks were cheap and the bartender Eddie was friendly and made good beer recommendations. The venue is small and intimate which made the show all the better. Between each set there is plenty of seating and booths to chill out. Check it out when you have the opportunity \m/\m/

Place is cool. Drinks are acceptable prices for fremont. I came in solo as a female. Sat down. Groups of dudes walked up 2 to 5 min after me... the two female bartenders served them first. I bartend. I get it. Youre regulars are the easy quick side serves... but I had my wallet patiently waiting. And I had to be annoying and wave my hand for them to finally serve me. Which is rude on my part... but... little did they know I'd tip fatter than the boys. Just off in general.. Always multi serve or at least say hello, I'll be right with you. But naw. I literally talked with a guy before he got served. He got served. And im still talking to him without even a hello acknowledge nod. Will come back. Just work on it?

It’s all about low key when you are seeking a drink that is both tried and true, as well as quickly served. The Griffin is where bartenders should start their Downtown Las Vegas night out. However, I ordered a Manhattan, and they said they were out of Ango…. So there is that

Was greeted by an extremely rude bartender that wouldn't serve us and gave us dirty looks 😕 I told her she shouldn't work in a service environment at which point she screamed for security to throw us out! We were already leaving but security hurried in to try and make it a scene as we were leaving already on our way out! if security had went any further it would have turned into a self defense situation 😳 Do yourself a favor if you don't want to get attacked by up to six people don't come to this establishment I'm sure it will be shutdown and the owner sued in no time as no normal person would ever want an experience like this.

Iv been a several times over the years, have never been let down. Great drinks and cool staff. Not one time has anyone that has helped during my visit ever been rude, snotty, inattentive. Weather extremely busy, or chill night. Maybe I just have been lucky, or maybe it's just a great bar

Great atmosphere! It feels like you're in a cozy tavern in Europe. Service is prompt. Staff is friendly. I like the fireplaces. Prices are reasonable. I am adding this place to my rotation

Bartender Camden was very knowledgeable, and friendly. The atmosphere was fantastic there. All around a fantastic experience. Will definitely be going back.

Used to be a quite classy bar but now it's a loud dump like 95% of the Vegas bars now. They also no longer have a cocktail menu with the clever drinks they once had.

So other place we were doing to was Closed so we came here and Loved it! Excellent Manhattan

Me and my husband were told by the valets at The D where we were staying about The Griffin on our trip this week. We had an absolute blast! Met a lot of great people and even better it gave complete Harry Potter vibes! Bartenders were amazing! And the music was perfect 👌🏼👌🏼 Very fun, dark and intimate. We will be back!

Great moody ambiance. Sat by one of their fireplaces on a cold winter night in vegas. Nice choice of bourbon and rums to sip on.

I have been going to this bar since I want to say 2009? It's a downtown staple. From the front to the back its pretty incredible. Punk music in the front half and cool dance music of all kinds in the back. I always appreciate the service. Of course covid times have changed it up a bit but I still love it. Thanks for being a constant.

Listen, I'm not picky when it comes to bars. You have somewhere for me to sit and serve alcohol? Great! But the griffin has this whole other vibe to it than other bars I've been to, and I can't quite describe what that is, but maaaan do I love it! Give Griffin a try and see for yourself!

Nice break away from the Fremont vibe. Cool ambience, lovely brickwork and firepits and cool people are all to be found inside. Our bartender, Eddie, gave us some great recommendations for local spots away from the touristy tripe and also makes a KILLER mule. Will be back 100%

Cool spot and one of few bars downtown that usually doesn't have a cover fee. Occasionally they'll have the back room open with a different genre of muisc.

They need to clean their lines or something, all the draft beer had an intense sweet taste. At first we thought it was just the beer we ordered but then we switched to something we were familiar with and had the same experience. Also when I asked for a cocktail menu the bartender said they didn’t have one? So possibly the reviews with pictures of cocktail menus are out of date or this bartender just wasn’t in the mood to make cocktails. I came a few years ago and it wasn’t that bad, so things have just changed a lot.

I love The Griffin for it’s great classic ambience and the customer service from such an intimidating security guard Alex, who is very kind to everyone and charismatic . Junior the security guard is a helping hand who displays great customer service as well , who makes you feel protected while having a fun night out . Shout out to the bartenders as well, they’re a class act. The griffin also has a back room where it goes down, which is also worth checking out.

Screw all the slick vegas stuff. Come to where seems like mostly very friendly locals party. Spent two nights partying here. Fabulous dive bar no regrets walking away from casinos. Wish I could head right back tonight. Next visit for sure

The Griffen is one of my favorite bars in the downtown area. It is pretty small and unassuming, but the inside is very comfortable and there's even a fireplace in the center which is perfect for the winter time. The bartender's here are some of the best. I always order an old fashioned and it never disappoints.

Great old school hang out place, awesome vibes. I will be back to show other friends. The architecture alone is just awesome.
