Really long wait for tacos that were mid. Not good but not bad. Meat was cold by the time I got my tacos. Some pieces of meat smelled weird too. Was pretty disappointed since there was a lot of good reviews. So honestly, it’s not worth the long wait that curves three times inside, stretches out the door, and goes around the corner. You might want to get there before sundown if you really want to try them out. Could probably find better street tacos somewhere else. Fries were bomb though.

If you find yourself on the Strip, forget all the fancy places. Line up at Tacos El Gordo with an empty stomach. You won't regret it. Amazing value ($30 for 6 tacos, 1 quesadilla and 2 drinks). The lines are long and a bit complicated to understand but it'll make the meal all the more worth it. Come with a few people so you can all line up in different queues (each queue is for a different selection of meats so you'll need to be in multiple queues to try everything).

Really cool experience for someone who isn’t super well-versed in authentic tacos (can’t get that in the UK sadly…). The food was delicious. It takes a moment to get the way it works but once you load your tray with all you want (and likely more than you can eat) and pay at the checkout counter, it is a feast to remember. Had pork and steak tacos - all succulent, well seasoned and messy as hell, in a good way. Might go again tomorrow. Interested to the more “crazy” stuff like brains and intestines…

Lines were ridiculous but the food was simple & delicious. The food tasted fresh & light. Felt better than eating fast food that's for sure! No rice or beans. Very simple menu which is helpful. Be mindful of which line you're waiting in

I’ve eaten tacos all over Texas and love them any time of day. From Dallas, SA, and Austin, I’ve had them all. These were different than what I’m accustomed to, in a good way. Very authentic and they’re not wasting energy on pointless things. Everything is straight to the point. Also, no extra charge for guac!

We are from Virginia. We finally got a chance to try this taco shop out. One time it had a really long line so we avoided that but this time there wasn't much. We ordered 2 lengua taco and it was really amazing. Very flavorful and the meat melts like butter. We paid about $8.06 for just the tacos without anything. I wish it was a bitter cheaper at like $2.50-3 per taco but otherwise, it was a great experience.

I gotta eat here at least once every trip to Vegas! The tacos here are excellent. Try the cabeza tacos. The meat is really tender and delicious. You really can’t go wrong no matter what you order here. The rotisserie meat here is a must try as well. The prices are fair for the quality and portion sizes. The restaurant itself isn’t fancy, they keep it mostly clean. Best tacos in Vegas hands down!

This famous hole in the wall is located right on the edge of the Las Vegas strip. With a line of willing customers, there is certainly a lot of hype built up around the establishment. Tacos El Gordo attempts to create a no-frills, low-key experience that is down to earth. However, due to its popularity, the wait time cannot be justified. Although the saying "good things come to those who wait" can often be true, El Gordo unfortunately does not meet expectations. With a long wait, one would expect homey, delicious food. Unfortunately, although well cooked and fresh, the flavor of the taco falls short of expectations and the price. Perhaps the flavor would be good to some, but in my own opinion, one could definitely do better elsewhere. Overall, the hustling ambience, food taste, and wait time are too much for me to personally recommend this establishment.

Good tacos near the end of the strip. This is a place you just wander in. No hype - just go and enjoy some tacos. I’d rather come here than to most of the fancy places on the strip. Obviously not the best tacos in the world, but still above average. Great flavor. Decent selection.

Amazing Mexican food! Got 1 taco of each meat. Wish the tripas weren't as crispy. Buche was a favorite! Don't waste your money anywhere else, this is a must have every time you're in Vegas. We went early am to avoid long lines but it's definitely worth the wait if you do get in at a busy time!! Oh, did I mention their freshly made corn tortillas are amazing!!!!!

The place is big. The food is very good, the process to do the long lines is somehow confusing because once you receive the food, you have to go to another line and pay to a cashier. Should be better to have a ticket with the list of what you order and then the cashier or the service can charge you. In general it has an original taste and good flavors. 100% recommend

This food was ridiculously good and it shows by how jam packed it was! Do not be discouraged by the line out the door because the food was SO worth it. It is the best Al Pastor and the mulas that I got was amazing! I highly recommend it! From the time we entered the line to when we were sitting down to eat was about 1-1.5 hours. It really helps if you go with multiple people as once you get inside there are multiple different lines for the different types of meat. Best approach is to have someone go in each of the lines to get the different meats and fries that you want. All of the tacos are made fresh to order at the counter. Once you have all your food, you go to a corner counter to pay. Seating can be hard to find and there were people everywhere, but there is lots of turn over with the number of orders that they turn out.

Simply amazing, best tacos I've ever eaten. This is a must go to place, eclectic menu with tripe and tongue but really tasty. Only gripe was the queue was long and you had to queue in a line for either pork or beef.

I was staying at the hotel across the street. Wanted a quick bite and saw this place was packed. As I was crossing the street, I overheard a some guy taking a friend to this place. I asked and he says it's THE place to go for Mexican. And he was right. The food did not disappoint! Will definitely come back again the next time in town. Saw the person in front asked for some grilled onions and jalapenos, so I did the same. And the crunchy radishes at the salsa bar make great side dishes.

Best tacos in Las Vegas. It’s towards the edge so it may be out of the way, but it’s worth the trek. Make sure to ask for pineapple, it takes it over the top! Lines can be long, but it’s definitely the wait is worth it. There’s plenty of seating and with the natural flow, there will be a seat open in just minutes. The restaurant itself isn’t super clean, but it’s fast casual so don’t expect to linger around very long. I highly recommend trying it out if you’re in the area!

These are good tacos but the wait is what cost it the last star. Hour or more wait is a bit much and the way the lines are, they should work out a better system. For being on the strip i guess there good but to me they taste like many other tacos. If the line is out the door i wouldn't wait i would move on and try again later because by the time i sat down the line did go down. About an hour and half.

Great taco's, All the meat's taste really good, lots of flavor! I tasted all of it.. omg... So good!.. price of food for it being Las Vegas strip is very reasonable! Super busy! Be patient it's worth the wait! Pay attention... Each line is for ordering different taco's or meat's READ the Signs...Yes, I will be going back every time in Las Vegas, even when I drive by Las Vegas I will make sure I stop for taco's El Gordo 💪😋

Taco men in kitchen are slower than turttles. Tacos are tasty but think twice if you want to spend and hour of your time just for this. Lines are long, low control inside and no air conditioner. Poor experience.

I heard these tacos where amazing and I wanted to see what the hype was. The restaurant has dedicated parking spots but if it’s busy parking can be a hassle. The location is a decent size with tables available. You order your food, pay and find a seat. They have lines dedicated to different tacos-Al pastor, beef, beef tongue, pork, other body parts of the cow and pig. You stand in each line for the type of taco you want. The tacos are served quickly. The food looks fresh and it’s moving. I tried the Al pastor tacos. It was good and a little spicy. The tortilla was soft and they only offer corn. But guess what meat they don’t offer?! Chicken! It was interesting they don’t serve pollo. They have a side station to add additional toppings to your tacos. After you get your tacos you pay and then enjoy!

The tacos served here have been one of my favorites for over a decade! It doesn't matter which meat you pick, they're equally and uniquely good. I've been to several dozen taco shops all over the country with high reviews and none compare to what this place offers. Come with an open mind. Forget your childhood memories about Grandma making the best tacos, or the taco shop your Uncle took you on a special day, even when you got drunk and stopped at some random taco truck that you swear serves the best tacos in existence - none of that matters. Once you understand the skill and passion needed to master the art of making tacos, then you'll truly come to the realization that this place is not about competition or being the best. The people behind the grill only care about one thing; no, it's not your feelings, it's not your opinion about the tacos, it's not even about the reviews posted. They care about preparing and handing you the tastiest, most delicious, well-balanced taco that will make you smile immediately after taking that first bite. It's about taking the time to enjoy good food with friends, family, coworkers, enemies, a random Uber driver, or maybe just you, alone on a self-care date. If you like tacos, this place is a must. If you don't like tacos, then that's fine too. Tacos are a delicacy and this place serves thousands of tiny little masterpieces every single day. Tacos El Gordo is in a league of its own.

I recently visited Tacos El Gordo and had a great experience overall. The street tacos were delicious and definitely hit the spot. The only downside was the limited options available in terms of salsas, dips, queso, and rice. However, this didn't take away from the overall flavor and quality of the food. The service was fast and efficient, with the staff being friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable, with plenty of seating available. I also appreciated that the prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Overall, I would definitely recommend Tacos El Gordo to anyone looking for authentic and tasty Mexican food. While there were limited options for extras, the street tacos themselves were top-notch

If you like to eat and not care about a super crowded place, this is for you. It’s not a restaurant, is a fast food grab and eat. Food is exceptional and service is super fast. Plenty of room to seat. Tacos size is perfect. You don’t need to dress up, so just be ready. This place really delivers. Will def recommend to my friends and family.

OMG Tacos El Gordo still has the best tacos ever!! I don't think they have any seafood and chicken. It was mostly beef and pork. Everything was fresh and quick. Can't wait to go back again.

The food here is absolutely amazing. My favorite thing has to be the pastor quesadillas. I would recommend them to anybody. I wish I had ordered more than two. The tacos were delicious, my mouth got watery just by looking at them. Everything that I ate did not disappoint whatsoever. The only bad thing is that the place gets busy, crowded, and cramped very quickly. You can be stuck waiting in line for a VERY long time. If that's not an issue, then you will not be disappointed. Also, there's different lines regarding different types of meat. I will most definitely be coming back next time I'm in Las Vegas.

As authentic as you can get! Tacos were made fresh in front of you with freshly prepared ingredients. Ordering system is efficient for the high volume of customers. Challenge to find seating, but after a few minutes, we snagged a spot and devoured these delicious tacos! Highly recommend the beef tongue tacos!

Tucked away amidst the shimmering lights of Las Vegas Blvd is Tacos El Gordo, a culinary gem waiting to be discovered. From the moment I stepped in, the rich aroma of grilled meats and fresh cilantro promised an authentic taco experience. The menu is both concise and expansive, highlighting traditional favorites and unique house specialties. The standout for me was the Al Pastor taco - the pineapple's sweetness and the marinated pork's savory notes danced harmoniously on my palate. Each bite was enhanced by their homemade salsas, ranging from mild to wild. Despite the bustling crowd, service was prompt and friendly. Whether you're a seasoned taco aficionado or new to the world of Mexican cuisine, El Gordo offers a memorable dining experience. Truly a taco haven in the heart of Sin City. Highly recommended! It’s super busy on the weekends but during the weekdays you don’t have to wait long at all. If you have to go there during the weekend, go during off hours like mid afternoon.

It's a high volume tacqueria. Everything is fresh and delicious. The line system can be a bit of a bummer if you want more than one kind of taco and you're there solo, but oh well. Definitely the best tacos I've had in Vegas. Worth a return trip.

There’s so much hype about this place! I have to agree with them, the food is authentically Mexican. You can smell it from the parking lot. Tacos will not disappoint you, handmade tortillas, guacamole and your choice of meat. Only regret is that I don’t have a larger appetite. People love this place, it’s crowded! Whether it’s 2PM or 2AM. So bring your appetite but patience with you. Finding a place to sit can be hard, so if you can, takeout instead. Hopefully soon they get a larger place with better scalability.

This place was absolutely jam packed! The food was SO good though. We waited about an hour and a half to get our food. They have many different lines for the different types of meat. You get in that line and wait until you can order at the counter. Then, you go to a corner counter to pay. Seating was hard to find and there were people everywhere. It is the best Al Pastor I have ever had and the mulas that I got was amazing! I highly recommend it!

Absolutely fantastic tacos. You have to wait in different lines for each type of meat so we just went with adobada both times we came since lines were long. The one line that always seems to be short is the fries line, which can be a shortcut if you like fries since you can get different kinds of meat there. We came for lunch and it was so delicious we came back for dinner! The reason I gave service three stars was just because it is so busy it was hard to get things like salsa which was behind the counter for some reason. Not a deal breaker though, the employees were pleasant despite being absolutely slammed all day which is a feat in itself.

These tacos are fire. You want fresh. You got it. Made when you order. I went 4 times through the week. Every time it's was great. Fresh and flavorfull. Watch the jalapeno's. There are spicy. You can't go wrong with any of the selections. If you get steak eat the quick when it's hot. Al pastor is delicious also. Lengua was soft and delicious

AMAZING Tacos! As real as it has ever gotten! If you know anything about a true Mexican taco… this is the last stop! Super clean, fresh, very efficient, and the only place that I’ve seen that’s gone through this much trouble to create 4 quarantined and shielded sides to their booths to protect against COVID! Total winner!

Love love love their tacos! Everything is prepared fresh and the wait is well worth it! Their pork taco is very flavorful and I highly recommend that over the steak! If you don't want to be stuck in a long line I suggest you going a little after they open.

This is a staple of every single visit to Vegas, often more than once. Even if there’s a line, it’s worth waiting for. All of the meats are fresh, the flavor is authentic, and options are varied. These are some of the best tacos in the nation. Highly recommend the Mulas if you like a quesadilla - there’s double cheese compared to when you order a quesadilla off their menu and they’re the same price!

  • 5/5 Craig B. 6 months ago on Google
Ok, so if you’re in Vegas, you gotta hit up Tacos El Gordo. Quite frankly, they have mastered the simple, but delicious food concept. You stand in line for the meat of your choice, it takes a hot minute because they are busy, but it’s worth the wait. There’s something to be said about how delicious a simple good taco can be. I personally love their pork tacos, cooked on a rotating spit that just delivers. Corn tortillas, Al pastor, cilantro and onions with some red and green sauce…. Soooooo good.

  • 5/5 Jerry B. 7 months ago on Google
Some of the best authentic Mexican I have ever eaten. The food was absolutely amazing. The food is all fresh and prepared right infrontbof you. They offer a ton of options, including chicken, pork, and beef. The place is always packed, and there is a line out the door and around the corner. The line moves very fast and is well worth the short wait.

Taco El Gordo in Las Vegas stands out as one of the best taco joints in the USA. The vibrant atmosphere and delicious offerings create an enjoyable experience. Despite being reasonably priced, it's a bustling spot, always crowded with eager patrons. If you're a taco enthusiast, this place comes highly recommended.

Great taco spot in Vegas. I don't love their system, but they have different lines depending on what kind of taco you want to order, and once you get them you go to pay and then pick a seat. Asada, suadero and campechanos were really good, as well as the salsas. Excellent option for a late night treat.

  • 4/5 Matt B. 8 months ago on Google
Tacos are so, so good. Worth the wait, but would recommend getting there earlier then you think you need to. Having been there, the line system is a bit…convoluted and they should make it more clear what line is for what, or set up some sort of line barriers with signs. It’s more of a mob of people asking each other if they’re in the right line. Outside of that, the food itself is delicious.

Being raised in the Texas valley with weekend trips to Mexico, I’ve been eating authentic Mexican food all my life so believe me when I say these tacos DO NOT disappoint! Truly the best tacos in the area! The meat is so juicy, portions are fair and they have great variety of food options. We got the tacos de asada and they were delicious! Definitely adding this restaurant on my to-go list for our next trip to Vegas.

Packed delicious little taco spot on the strip with a line that is worth waiting in if you want good tacos! They've got a lot of variety of great food there and everyone was very happy with the selection we ordered. Would recommend this place two people again just know you're going to stand in line most likely for a while waiting to order

  • 3/5 T. M. 8 months ago on Google
Pretty good tacos and even at 4.19 + tax/taco a “budget” option on the strip. Having to get in multiple lines for different food is a bit tedious and it was pretty hot inside with slow moving lines. Also would be nice to have a cerveza with your tacos but alas no alcohol served. Still a god experience with friendly staff.

  • 5/5 Ben O. 8 months ago on Google
Pricey place to eat but it makes up for it in the quality. Authentic food with a huge space to eat. Had some some of the tacos and fries, delicious. Tortillas were also fresh and tasty. Can get crowded here but all for good reasons.

  • 5/5 Travis 9 months ago on Google
You're going to wait but it's going to be worth it! My first time I had to learn the ordering process; wait in line for the item you want, different line different protein/item. It's best to go with others so you can all wait in the different lines for each other. Food is fresh and delicious!

  • 4/5 Annabelle 1 year ago on Google
Loved the tacos here but the wait was beyond crazy. The line could be managed a bit better and a huge inconvenience if you want both pork and beef tacos as there are separate lines for each all being (1+ hour wait for each line). Definitely recommend the Al pastor tacos.

  • 5/5 Christopher B. 3 years ago on Google
This place has AMAZING tacos!!! They are open super late so this is the perfect place for a late night snack. The line can get ridiculously long though so if you ever see a short line jump on the opportunity as I've had to wait almost 2 hours one time. This location is walk in only but the other locations do have a drive though option. They have dining booths open inside with plexiglass separators for protection and close every other booth. Loads of options and reasonable prices.

  • 5/5 Jordan J. 2 years ago on Google
Incredible authentic flavor. We had 4 tacos, a quesadilla and a tostada- all adobada because it’s our favorite. Highly recommend trying the grilled jalapeños. The employees speak English so don’t be intimidated about ordering - they’ll help you. Each line is specific to the meat type you’re ordering. The loaded fries looked really good but we didn’t try them this time. The line out the door is pretty intense but it moves quickly. Everything is made to order and very flavorful - the best tacos on the strip!!

  • 4/5 T W. 2 years ago on Google
Came here because of the other reviews. Visited on a Thursday around 1pm, and I pretty much walked right in, ordered after 2-3 people ahead of me, and found a table. I tried the steak and pork tacos. Steak is really not good at all...too salty and fatty...but the pork (adobada) is to die for. I also had the loaded fries with pork and they were so good. I rode by later in the day and the line was wrapped around the building, so I'm glad I was able to get in at a non-busy time. Great place for cheap tacos for sure....and don't be confused by Tacos el Pastor which is one block over.

The wait it's long but only those who have been know why. These tacos are out of this world. Definitely show authenticity from tijuana and strongly recommend!
