The train museum is free to the public. But accept donations. A ride on the train is $10 and lasts around 30 minutes. I had an enjoyable time. The staff were both helpful and knowledgeable.

This was a cool little spot to work in nature and great for kids and elderly. The staff was so friendly. The train ride is something that you must do. A 20 minute ride , they have air-conditioned cars with very comfortable seats and ceiling fans. If you like the openess they have those cars as well. ( great for picture taking) The views were wonderful..but I am a Nature Person. They also have peddle bikes that you can peddle on the tracks! I had a blast! The conductor Larry let me go to engine and blow the horn.. Loads.. of fun!

A lot of history in all the railroad trains they have displayed at the museum! Parking can be limited. The train ride is very enjoyable. The breeze you feel as you hang your head outside the open passenger car! Also make sure you charge the battery on phone, because you are going to take a lot of pictures!

My mom and I had an opportunity to visit this museum over the summer. It’s a really nice little find. The employees are some of the friendliest people I’ve met. One of the gentleman on the train ride went out of his way to make sure everyone was comfortable and shared different pieces of history and facts about the trains. I keep missing the steamers and look forward to trying the pedal carts on a future visit.

Not a large museum, so it won't take too long to go thru the exhibits, but make sure you allow 45 minutes for the (very gentle) train ride. The old caboose and mail cars were very interesting, I didn't imagine that the trains contained a "Post Office" sorting station. We also really enjoyed the model trains, built inside an actual train! The scale models are real works of kinetic art! Sadly, the Pullman car is still being refurbished, so we weren't allowed to tour it. And on the day we came, the tiny "kiddee?" train wasn't running, but overall this is a good place to bring your family.

Incredible experience all around! We stopped in on a Sunday to ride the train, loved the entire experience! Only $10 per person, and train ride is 40 minutes. Be sure to walk to the open air car, very unique and great for photos. We walked through the model train cars as well as the maintenance shop, very fun and unique experience

I went here on my way from Hoover Dam and this was a great little find. Turns out the museum had been closed for a private education event but the staff let me enjoy the museum anyways and I sure did. This place is great. The displays are fantastic and clean. A lot to look at here. I recommend any rail enthusiasts to check out this place and families to.

Was a fun little experience not too far from Vegas at a fair price. Loved seeing all the horror movie memorabilia and history. Wish there was more in the gift shop to pick from. The girlfriend and I took the tour and were left wanting more. The guy behind the counter was cool to talk with. He showed off a bunch of his work and talked about how he played tunneler in the latest Puppet Master movie.

What a great train ride, loved the view ...I enjoyed the music and our lady that was on our train car..I was with some girlfriends, and we were able to take lots of pictures!..this was my second time here, as I came during christmas time last year..The Halloween express ended with a little party for the kids. They offered cookies and water, and had a couple of booths that were selling merchandise ( one of the ladies wasn't very friendly) .but I purchased a couple of Halloween pins anyway..overall we enjoyed our ride!

It was very hot! But the kids had a good time and it was very interesting with the rail cars and the things that we were able to look at! They do have tours that are in the evening which I thought was wonderful ones that ate ones at 10 p.m.

I was only passing by on my bike so only visited for about 15 minutes. I Love trains when I lived in Hawaii I worked on a steam train for 9 years so it was a must visit for me. This place was clean the people there were nice and if you love trains I would definitely go to this museum it's really cool you can go inside you can pay to take train rides like I said I was just stopping by for the memories and some quick photos but I will be back with my kids.

Very interesting site. Had the "Gratitude Car" which I never knew about. Thanking each country for their contribution to WWII. Also we had our nephews with us who are very knowledgeable about trains and could explain different workings of the engines etc. Unfortunately the museum was mostly closed but a gentleman who worked there came by and also explained a few things too. Definitely recommend seeing!

There is so much to see! So much education & history represented here. The actual trains are under cover so you get a first hand experience. There are even some trains you can walk thru & they are set up just like they were originally.

I very much loved seeing the stationed trains along with getting to ride on the rails. Jus an fyi if you want to ride the train it is $10 but if you are part of their railroad membership you get to ride for free along with free entry to any other railway museum in NV

Very nice! Different from when I last came here. Has many props that were used in their movies shown! Definitely recommend for any fan of horror.

Loved it. I was pleasantly surprised by it. Def worth checking out even if you're not a horror fan. 80s and 90s kids will enjoy it too.

  • 3/5 Andreunna D. 3 years ago on Google
It was a decent sizes walk through, a lot of older horror movies and not very interactive. It wasn't bad, I feel like $7-10 a person is more worth it than $15

Loved it! Amazing artist and a great collection of old school, popular, b movie and other displays.

  • 1/5 Jason M. 3 years ago on Google
This place is not worth the money. Its cheap and cheesy. The staff were rude. Please don't waste your time or money like I did. I'd suggest going to the haunted museum in Vegas. At least thats worth the money. Wish I could give negative stars on this one. Tom you and your staff should be ashamed.

  • 5/5 Jennifer S. 3 years ago on Google
Uh-mazing. All exhibits made by hand, and the have the occasional celebrity in store, but they're usually b movie actors. If you love horror flicks especially b movies, you will enjoy this little monster tour!

  • 5/5 Jessica F. 4 years ago on Google
I absolutely loved this place! It was so much fun and it's a really cool museum for any horror movie lover and/or practical effects makeup fan. There's a lot of really cool information about different horror movie actors and information on Tom Devlin's movies. The staff here is really nice and it's a cool place to visit (personally I think it's definitely worth a 30 minute drive from Vegas). It's a great place to visit if you're nearby, I would definitely go there again.

If you love horror, this is the place for you!!! Great exhibits and a whole lot of fun! They even allow photos (no flash!) And videos. The atmosphere is campy and fabulous! You'll see so many favorites from the obvious, like Freddy Krueger, to the not so obvious, puppet master, killer clowns from outer space, and more. This is a must visit for souvenirs and the museum!

Jason and Michael and Freddy are all here. There is a small store out front. Oct brings a spooky flashlight night tour. Oct 2 is the debut of a year round haunted house.

What a wonderful horror experience. Went with the full scare package for this Halloween and was running for my life through the parking lot. Fully immersive experience. The actors played their scary rolls thoroughly and so much to see in between the screams. If you love the horror genre then u will love this lil'museum of traumatic treasures. Exceeded my expectations due to me initially thinking it was going to be cheezy and small. Great place, want to go again!

Tom Devlin's Monster Museum is by far one of the best places you can visit for absolutely authentic and enthusiastic monster history and culture! The museum is intentionally reset periodically to showcase different themes, films, and special effects within the monster and sci-fi genres. The detailed placards throughout the museum are not to be missed as they are an absolute wealth of information on all of the amazing characters on display. Take the time to read about all of the work and dedication to the craft that has gone into not only the museum displays but also into the actual films themselves that they represent. As a lifelong fan of all things B movie horror and sci-fi related I absolutely endorse this as one of the best, most in-depth, and refined museums for this culture that I have ever had the pleasure and privilege of attending. Do yourself a favor and stop by this perfect dedication into the craft of creating the things that make your spine tingle, you will not be disappointed!! 🎃🎃💀💀👽👽💀💀🎃🎃 I also want to throw a quick shout out to Tom Devlin and say that it was an absolute pleasure to meet you and get the chance to talk with you all about our gloriously misspent youths back in Northeast Pennsylvania, I'm glad that we both ended up far enough away that we were close enough to discuss surviving all the insanity! 😎🦇

This was a lot more fun than I expected. We arrived just in time to catch the last train ride of the day. I'm from Chicago and ride the train every day to work. Yet this was a completely different experience.... got to see old non updated cars and sat in an open train car (which Chicago weather could never handle). Train went slowly down the 4 mile track, stopped, and went back. Interesting to see the mountains from this perspective and learn from the knowledgeable conductor (who is amazing with kids by the way). After, we wandered through the train exhibits. It said museum on the website, but really it's a bunch of old train cars parked in one spot, and you can go in some of them. It was fun to see the old mail car and a real luxury travel train, reminiscent of Murder on the Orient Express. Husband loved it and chatted with the museum's members who were all very friendly. Thanks for the experience!

  • 5/5 Alicia M. 4 years ago on Google
The trains on display here were very cool! So much history. However, it is the volunteers that make this place so great! I had a 10 minute conversation with the gentlemen inside the one coach about the history of the train and the owners. It was awesome! Then I took the 35 minute train ride from the station. It was a nice, calm ride with some nice scenery. Would definitely visit again!

I loved it but I have a HO gauge scale railroad set. I do wish it could be open to go into the trains, but with Covid-19 they were closed. Its also smaller than I though. I think if it was bigger then it would be much better.

Highly recommend for any rail enthusiasts or just anyone exploring the Southwest. It’s a hidden gem and unknown to many and very close to Vegas! A great place to stop and let our kids stretch their legs out. They love trains so being able to walk right along them and see their actual size was eye-opening to our 3 year olds. The employees were amazing at giving us info on the different cars and engines, taking time check in on us while they were moving some cars around. The highlight was definitely when one of the employees heard our kids talking about wanting to ride on one. They only do the rides on weekends but he was kind enough to allow us into the engine and let the girls pull the air horn. The look of sheer excitement and joy on their face was priceless and more than we could have asked for. Thank you to all the employees for making a great visit into a special memory for us!

Very enjoyable if you are into trains and big mechanical things. If you are visiting Boulder City, NV then this is worth a visit. We did not take the Rail Tour because it was over 90 deg. that day and my wife did not want to be in the direct sun. I think the Rail Tour is a great idea. I that the Model Railroad exhibit would have been open, but it was closed for some reason.

Fun for the little ones and for those who enjoy history and trains. The crew are all very nice and helpful. The bathrooms are maintained which says a lot! If you have little ones, the miniature steam train ride. That was fun and the ride took way longer than any theme park ride we've been on LOL Please visit and support the local historical train museum ❤️

The tickets are ONLY for the train ride. The museum itself is free, open air, covered and amazing. A few of the exhibits can be boarded and viewed. The Director has a PhD and is excited to answer questions and give explanations about all aspects of the railroads. Make certain to plan a few hours to stop by and learn about the railroads.

  • 5/5 Transcontinental R. 5 months ago on Google
Very nice display of well preserved railroad equipment. Train rides and model trains run on weekends (Saturday and Sunday), so make sure you plan for that. Free admission to walk through just the museum. Also, they allow you to walk inside some of the historic railroad equipment. A great place for railroad buffs!

Has a few engines that you can not go on. Has several cars that you can tour. The US mail car had a person that talked about the car and answered questions. We purchased tickets and took the train ride. There are open and regular train passenger cars. There is a small scale railroad. It was fun. I enjoyed this the most on our trip to the Vegas area.

The railroad was fantastic! We went on the Christmas train that the museum has during the holiday season. The train was decorated with Christmas lights and played holiday music. The train made one stop where everyone got off and had cookies and hot chocolate. Santa and Mrs. Clause were there to take pictures with everyone. One of the funnest parts of the night was when the staff brought out hundreds of white cloth balls, and everyone had a giant snowball fight. After that, we got back on the train to go back to the station. I don't know what the train ride is like during the rest of the year, but I highly recommend going on the Christmas train. Definitely buy tickets ahead of time. Also, buy tickets for the cars with inside seating if you don't want to get too cold. We had a wonderful time!
