As
a
nurse,
I
expected
way
more
of
this
place.
I
flew
in
from
Indiana
for
my
grandfathers
funeral,
I
also
found
out
my
grandmother
had
cancer
again
after
17
years.
When
approaching
the
front
desk
to
drop
off
paperwork
for
FMLA
(we
called
the
call
center
prior,
they
said
we
could
stop
in
whenever
we
needed.)
when
we
were
greeted
by
the
front
desk,
we
instantly
were
met
with
attitude.
“Do
you
have
an
appointment?”
“You
need
an
appointment.”
When
explaining
our
situation
we
got
more
and
more
attitude.
When
all
along
we
were
led
to
believe
that
we
could
stop
in
and
drop
off
the
paperwork,
as
we
were
told
this
by
the
call
center.
My
aunt
has
to
travel
back
home
to
Indiana
on
Monday.
The
front
desk
didn’t
even
offer
to
make
an
appointment,
they
just
kept
saying,
“you
need
an
appointment.”
My
grandmother
physically
had
to
ask
to
make
an
appointment
because
the
woman
was
not
paying
any
attention
to
our
wants
and
needs.
I
get
it,
nurses
have
bad
days,
however
being
disrespectful
to
a
woman
whose
2nd
husband
passed
away,
and
the
2nd
time
she
was
diagnosed
with
cancer
in
the
same
week
is
not
acceptable.
Where
is
your
staffs
empathy?
After
a
slew
of
off
hand
classist
remarks
about
paying
$45
for
the
appointment
(her
attitude
suggested
we
did
not
have
the
funds
to
pay
the
appointment
fee),
big
eyes
bulging
eyes,
and
an
excessively
aggressive
and
loud
speaking
voice,
we
decided
that
this
woman
was
not
polite,
nor
empathetic
whatsoever.
The
woman
seemed
more
interested
in
what
was
going
on
behind
the
front
desk
(it
seemed
as
if
the
entire
staff
was
conjugating
in
that
area.)
My
grandmother
was
in
tears
outside
of
the
office
when
we
were
walking
to
the
car
park.
She
has
been
going
to
this
place
for
years
for
her
PCP.
She
was
flabbergasted
and
let
down
by
the
way
your
staff
has
treated
her
and
our
family
this
time.
Upon
returning
for
our
1pm
appointment,
a
different
woman
was
rude
to
my
aunt
and
grandmother
from
the
start.
My
aunt
had
simply
asked
questions
pertinent
to
filling
out
FMLA
paperwork.
As
Nurses
our
core
values
are,
altruism,
autonomy,
human
dignity,
integrity,
honesty
and
social
justice.
If
you
are
not
empathetic,
do
not
become
a
nurse.
Please,
make
this
right.
Highly
disappointed
in
the
way
your
staff
has
treated
my
family.
