They have a court system there in which Drs. lie about your progress to the judge and also lie about your state of well being so they can force everyone to take psychiatric medication to be able to leave this place. The judge never sides with patie... People often mention staff, patients, hospital, people, medication, time, mental, treatment, admitted,

This place should be shut down. It is a hell hole. They have a court system there in which Drs. lie about your progress to the judge and also lie about your state of well being so they can force everyone to take psychiatric medication to be able to leave this place. The judge never sides with patients who choose to remain unmedicated during their stays regardless of any type of psychological evaluations given or how cooperative you are with the program. Once the judge declares that you MUST take psychiatric medication, then they give you paperwork for you to be able to pick which one you can take if it falls into the category in which your diagnosis falls into. If you do not pick one, then a gang of staff members violenty force you with an injectible version of their own choice of medication instead. The staff there threatens to physically abuse patients. I have seen a patient get pushed around but he was frightened just enough to eventually comply and was not hit by any force of the threats that he was given by the staff. The food there was set up so you only have bowel movements on average of once a week and they are not easy to have either. You are always hungry all the time regardless of how often you eat or how many snacks that they give you. It is as if they are putting something in the food to cause these issues intentionally. To me, it is a torture chamber. Don't expect to receive any kind of help from this place whatsoever. A staff member once yelled out "If you all don't like it here, then don't come back!" My advice is to listen and never go to this literally God forsaken place. Although they do let you have a Bible here. Don't try to read it at night though or they will get infurious. The God of the Bible is not welcome here. This place is run by staff members who would rather treat you as if you are in hell and they are the devil's assistants. I kid you not this place will feel just like this 100%.

This is clearly a terrible facility. I came to pick someone up here and they don't even allow entrance, much less any assurance that the patient would be safe and well. I had to wait in the heat outside. It's worse than a prison. Better mental health facilities are sorely needed in the Vegas region.

For people who do want help and are not just there to hang out and get off the streets, this place is helpful. It is not for everyone. If you are not serious about your treatment and working hard, then this is not the place for you. There are daily groups to attend. These groups are set up for the patients with drug problems, alcohol problems as well as depression with suicide thoughts. It is easy to sit back and blame the facility if someone is not getting better. Patients need to work on their problem as well as have family support. The problem is not always inside it is the lack of treatment and follow through from the patient once they leave. Keep taking their meds as well as continue in therapy. Stop blaming everyone else and take responsibility for yourself. The help is there if you want it.

Our son was admitted for a manic episode with associated sleep deprivation. Dr Hower and his staff were remarkably competent. The doctors and the nurses gave us timely updates. The treatment protocols were right on with a natural health component. Our son was released today as good as new. Thank you to all of Rawson’s staff.

Been here the food is average but it fills you up, the staff is fair and nice they let you shave and even dye your hair. You can workout with real weights, and have arts and craft and karaoke and make bracelets and draw and even sing. The snacks are always available. Lots of friendly people to share problems did I mention πŸ€ basketball lol. GOD Bless

This place is like fort knocks, and it is Huge! I never actually went in, and it took 20 mins just to make a delivery. Only one way in & out. Don't bother driving all the way around the building looking for another exit because there are none. All other possible entryways are blocked. You can only speak to someone through a microphone outside unless someone actually comes out to greet you.

One of the counselors there, David Churchill, makes judgemental comments online about what people name their kids. Makes you wonder what else he's judging people for while providing people counseling?

I'm giving this 4 stars... Ive read a lot of bad reviews about this place but I honestly can't say I encountered what they did. I admitted myself, I was addicted to sleeping pills, I was depressed and I was going down the dark path of suicide.. I made the decision to get help... I remember every little detail of my time there.. No place is perfect and no one is either. I think admin changes the doctors names to colors..i had Dr. White.. There was also a Dr. Black, Dr. Blue and so forth. When it came to my doctor, I felt they could do more to help. I legit wanted help and I only saw the doctor twice out of the month I was there. The way I got better and helped myself was by the other patients and staff in the pod. We had some good discussions, I met a lot of good friends. Some I still talk to this day, 5+ years later. A few I wish I could reach out to and see how they are doing now. I did notice that a lot of the homeless would be admitted, then discharged and then admitted again days later. I still have nothing negative to say about it. That place did help me.

I was admitted there a few times. Some of the staff were cool. There's actually staff members who do care and had my back during my stays. On the other hand, there's staff there that don't need to be working with mental patients. Some are rude, impatient, and violent, mean-looking and evil-spirited. It's not the best place, but it's not the worse, neither.

This was the best hospital ive ever been to it saved my life the staff was so nice to me you get to do in door and out door activities and eat every meal outside this was very nice because i spent 30 mins outside each morning I was homeless and pregnant with twins when I went in. They have a meditation room and an outside door that leads to a patio and you can get fresh air all day and some of the night also you can see the stars at night for a short time. Watch tv all day gym activities yoga very nice place

if you have money and want to beat criminal charges, even murder, you can pay this hospital for a mental disorder evaluation and beat the charges. great place for rich criminals. horrible place for anyone with a real disorder.

Hell! I was on hold on the phone waiting to talk to someone for an hour. A PATIENT answered the phone and said I needed to talk to Mariah Carey and he would get Queen Latifah for me. Are you kidding? I just needed info. If you are not watching your patients, what are you doing?

Nevada isn't the state to have mental illness. This hospital has prior history of dumping their patients via Bus in other states, and now they're discharging patients without receiving proper treatment and are discharging too soon. Perhaps their criminally insane patients are housed longer? What was Joint Commission thinking by letting Rawson-Neal off the hook?

My cousin is here now, she told me they beat up a pt that's a regular. The staff definitely needs to be fired & the place investigated.

I was experiencing domestic violence in which the police were aware and they advised to separate. Now I am separated but based on his allegations I was submitted into the hospital when my daughter called the police the first time to report him on his physical abuse. When he was going to get arrested he mentioned I wasn’t well and was on medication. A restraining order was put against him when I got the chance and he found me.I was put in the hospital again with harsher medications made on very strong a ligations. He left me homeless after submitting me and thankfully here I have to say I was given a place to live because of the hospital speaking with him and him being demanding. In the time apart thanks to a friend I got in contact with Safenest but he found me again. I felt sad and disappointed at a point but not even the medication helped. Safenest helped I managed to separate and my life has changed but I am still given medication that has given me vertigo. 7 medications were tried on me but was kept in the end a a very low dosage mentioned it was for depression. Since we have been separated my life has changed and feel happy but I am still dealing with having to be on medication mostly that has made me very sick. I understand why he wanted to keep me medicated now as he even committed fraud in using personal information. I had hope and never gave up even though it felt as if based on a ligations, his lies meant more. It took so long for the hospital to find out somewhat of the situation because it seems they don’t believe you.

I've been to quite a few mental hospitals and, I'm sorry, this has to be the worst. There's a court system that determines if you can be released. My doctor and case worker lied about my progress. Clearly just wanted to get the most money out of my insurance. Very crowded. My mother brought me some things and when I came back, the staff and some patients were using them. I was livid. There are sick people who walk around in circles, literally the whole day. I was really depressed when I went in, and somehow this place made me more depressed. Would not recommend at all.

My stay at the Rawson Neal Psychiatric Hospital was truly an experience. I was released to the facility from the Clark County Detention Center. The same day of my transfer from county to the hospital I was seen by a doctor and diagnosed with schizophrenia and a addiction to meth. I was relieved to know that everything I had experienced leading up to that moment of clarity and approval was explainable and treatment is available for it. I then stayed awhile voluntetarily for further treatment and evaluation of my overall well-being. I tell you this right now the food was far better then county. The staff and crew Thierry are incredible and very understanding of all patients admitted after the facility. I'm glad to know that if I was ever to be hospitalized due to my mental health that I'd be in incredible hands.
