👍👍 I've been in the VA system for over 20 years, the Denver VA could learn A LOT from this one here in Las Vegas! They are on top of it here. Their service is stream lined. They are quick to get you into their system and quick to get you to the specialist you need. I have great care in the dental clini... People often mention care, hospital, pain,

I've been in the VA system for over 20 years, the Denver VA could learn A LOT from this one here in Las Vegas! They are on top of it here. Their service is stream lined. They are quick to get you into their system and quick to get you to the specialist you need. I have great care in the dental clinic and in all the specialty clinics. I don't wait months to be seen either. If they can't see you within a couple of months, they send you to a civilian doctor at no cost to you. I got excellent oral surgery downtown when I first moved here because I broke a molar... great care. I got new glasses very quickly and in the latest styles which is great. Denver VA was never up to date on women's styles. This is a fairly new VA built here, too with four clinics in the metro area so everyone doesn't have to travel all the way to the main hospital. I come here because it is close for me. Five stars for being the best of the best.

Don’t come here on a Sunday. I took my husband here for worsening (excruciating) shoulder pain of unknown cause; this was his 2nd visit for this pain—he was told to come back here. Upon entry to the room, Dr. Larry S Cohen asked the veteran, verbatim: “You’ve had pain for weeks now; Is there a reason you chose Sunday to come here?” THAT was his initial question. He pointed out the fact that it was Sunday 4 times; and ultimately we were unable to get imaging, because it’s Sunday. Larry tried to walk away mid-sentence multiple times. We had very reasonable and quick questions for him and spoke very politely with him. Note: this was a slow day, not at all busy. He openly admitted that he didn’t look at my husband’s file. He prescribed Ativan and sent my husband home, still writhing in pain. And lastly, it took over an hour at the pharmacy to get the Ativan because Larry wrote the dosage incorrectly. The pharmacy tech asked us to walk back to the ER to tell the doctor he needs to answer the phone and fix the discrepancy. It’s almost comical. A sick joke or prank? It’s disgraceful how our veterans are treated. I hope the VA system actually reads this and addresses these issues.

Had to go to the emergency room because of some health complications, was seen as soon as I came in and even interviewed by the doctor before I completed my in check. Ended up staying overnight and was taken care of very well, the nurses here are amazing. But the best thing about the state was the food service personnel, everybody from cooks and delivery people were amazing at providing the patients with quality meals. Keep working hard guys and gals!!

I have been coming to this VA HOSPITAL for 3 years. I bring my partner for she is the veteran! I wish they would treat her better and find out why her pain is bad instead of giving pain killers...Every time we come its a typical 3/4 hour wait! Today has been the most longest wait ever! The girls in front were nice and respectful. Now when you arrive inside the hospital rooms, expect nurses to take out there stress on you. Doctors don’t sit and communicate as they should. Some Nurses can be very rude and disrespectful. I get it it’s busy and there’s a lot to do. My one least favorite thing is that the doctor and nurse are never in the same page! Like why? Communication is key here doctors please keep up with you’re nurses! The place is clean, but lacks the communication a lot. I think instead of complaining to other nurses about it they should figure out a way to help each other. I always hear the nurses complain and sometimes use profanity because there day is crazy. #justakwcareoftheveterans now they do have valet and it’s awesome for veterans that can’t walk long distance. 9-5 Monday thru Friday only!

Walked in just to see what they had for my ear infection because none of the urgent care programs were working. Turns out they have an urgent care next to the ER. Was seen and out with meds in 30 minutes.

Fisher house is very clean, well maintained, and well-stocked. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. It's nice to have some place like this to stay when your loved one is in the hospital.

Been checked in 30min and not triaged. Going to local hospital ER with 8 minute wait and billing VA. Don't recommend this place. Just call within 24hrs and VA covers ER visit

I didn't go to the emergency room today, I went to get my coronavirus shot, but it was busy out at the hospital today, people waiting in line for the coronavirus shot, and people waiting for the pharmacy, and lab, it didn't take too long for the line for the coronavirus shot to move, I was in and out in about 1 and a half hours, not bad considering the amount of people waiting, I got there at the perfect time, I enjoy coming to the VA hospital, not for conditions I have, or problems I'm being seen for, but just to be around my brothers and sisters Veterans, that's the part I enjoy, there's no other feeling like it, to be around other Veterans, it's a feeling I can't describe, but other Veterans know the things that your going through. Nice place.

Personally, I have had outstanding care at the southern Nevada VA hospital. I have several issues that I am dealing with and the medical staff and personnel have done a great job taking care of me. I know it is frustrating dealing with the VA medical policies, but I truly feel this hospital does its very best to work within the system and to take care of their veterans. I have been to two other VA hospitals, one in TX and one in NM. The southern nevada VA center has been able to take the best care of me and my medical issues and has the most modern up-to-date equipment and facilities.

The unprofessional and unacceptable treatment my boyfriend had received by a couple specific er associates is unbelievable. He was brushed off and disregarded by them as they made us feel he was unimportant and a waste of time. The comments and blatant repulsive behavior displayed was nothing I have ever seen before in a medical facility and has left me in disgust. Not to mention their insubordination and pushback to the PA was just shocking and to me and should not be tolerated. The VA should be a place where Veterans should be able to seek excellent care but the experience my boyfriend endured was extremely uncalled for and I do not recommend coming here because of it. I feel strong concern for Veterans and their families who come here as we have encountered a couple of careless and ill mannered associates who are supposed to provide care but do the complete opposite and my hopes that they are not to cross paths with these individuals.

I've been taking my grandfather with alzheimers to the VA hospital for over a year now with great experiences until today. He had blood pressure 237/80, which is not normal for him, normally 140/60 range. He is bradychardic(heart rate under 60) and a heart valve replacement. The ER doctor couldn't stop asking, "Why would you take his blood pressure?" Over and over. As in, I couldn't have a valid reason for taking it. I felt belittled and humiliated by this questioning.
