This animal hospital are horrible and not organized. If you’ll come here for an appointment no matter how long you inform them that you are in a rush the staff will take sweet time and does not care that your time is valuable. They need more staff in order to meet the demand of their customer, i would not recommend them, i would say find somebody who can truly care and assist your pet, this will be my first and last time to be in this hospital.

I made an appointment to get my cat looked at. We waited in the exam room for a good 30 minutes before I asked someone if the doctor was going to see me only then did he come in. I said I needed an ultrasound to see if there was a blood clot or tumor in my cats bladder as the doctors at the emergency clinic suggested. He said we need to do an x-ray instead. I said okay. He said the results would be in the next day. I call the next day and they said the doc will call back when he's available. I call every single day for the next 5 days and they always say the doctor will call when available. I am very worried wondering if my cat has a tumor not to mention I paid $400 for all the tests. Finally I call twice in one day finally get him on the phone. I ask about the mass the other doctors have found and he says we would need to do an ultrasound to see if the mass is still there. Very frustrating, never going back here.

Dr drakeford told me my Smokey needed meds for Cushings disease. I expressed to her my concerns that he’s trembling and stopped eating. We lowered the dosage and he seem to be doing a little bit better but the shaking and trembling wouldn’t stop. Shortly after my doctor was switched to Dr. Bradford. my smokeys cortisol levels started dropping below average. Yet Dr. Bradford told me to continue the exact same dosage and schedule another lab test in SIX months. But contact us if he starts seizing, or vomiting… Um what?! Of course I took him to a different vet who instructed me to take Smokey off the meds immediately. We did. But unfortunately my baby boy died only 3 weeks later. The Vet Who spent hours trying to save my baby boys life listened to me and my concerns for my son more than West Charleston animal Hospital did in the four months that they were treating him. I can’t help but wonder if my boy would still be here if I never took him to you.

My husband and I took our feline son in for an ear infection today. This was the second time we've taken our kid there. The first time was quick and easy; it was a quick neutering. The appointment I'm at now, well, we've been waiting for 50 minutes to see a vet even though we had an appointment. At this point, I'll use this vet to take care of son's ear today, but I'll never come back here again. No one even came to check on us or give us an update. Just left us waiting--and as of this writing, we're STILL waiting. So unprofessional. The only positive is that the vet was black, which you don't see too often. Kudos for diversity in the office. Edit: After an hour, the ver FINALLY came in. No apology, no compassion. The appointment was as transactional as going to the bank. Eff this place.

Long story. I used to love this location for my animals. Prices were decent. They are now overpriced, but what caused this review was something absolutely disgusting to be honest. I have a huge distaste for liars. I took my dog in to get REQUIRED vaccines, to get fixed, and to have a microchip put it. I signed the forms where you state no or yes for the extra stuff. AGAIN, I told the office lady I ONLY wanted REQUIRED vaccines. Little did you know when I went to pick up my dog it was about $500 and I asked why my bill so high? The guy showed me that they gave my dog a bunch of vaccines that I had not asked for. I stated what I had told the lady I wanted only the REQUIRED and they pretended to talk to the doctor about getting the charges removed and the lady that I had talked to disappeared to the back (probably knowing well that she lied) the lady told them she had told me that “I wanted all RECCOMENDED vaccines”, which was a lie. They also forgot to charge me for the microchip which out of me not being a liar I told them about, then bringing my bill over $500 dollars. They proceeded to tell me that if I did not pay the amount they would not release my dog to me. Do not trust these people with your animals. I was very upset with what had happen and will never return to this location.

Great appointment! It was quick and easy! The person who took pixie back was very friendly and personable and seemed to really care. They gave me a thorough breakdown of how she did with her vaccination. We love this place!

Brought her in for an ear infection. They explained that it was a fungus and bacterial infection. Presented me with an estimate in advance that we were able to discuss. After we worked out what her treatment would be, they went to work. They gave me her prescriptions. She went to sleep for about six hours after we got home. She immediately seemed better when she woke up and over the course of 10 days has gone back to her normal healthy self. Thank You so much.

My Puppy Zeus needed emergency surgery. Everywhere else was charging me 10k for it but. Harvest on charges me half that. They kept me up to date while my puppy was hospitalized and they made sure all my questions were answered whenever I called. Amazing staff and amazing work

Took my dog in was told it was a 3k surgery or they will just send her home on antibiotics and she will die. I had to beg for a payment plan as a single mom and still had to put 1500 down which was extremely difficult and was given very little compassion by the staff and told if I couldn't come up with the full 1500 they would send her home to die. Then when I came back to pick her up they attempted to double charge me for blood work and just said sorry it was an accident when I pointed it out. About 10 days later I brought her back to get stiches out they said it looked great then I looked today and she still had a stitch in and it was risen and inflamed I called and brought her across town again to get the last stick out. I once more had to bring out my newborn and they only thing they said was sorry it shouldn't have happened they didn't offer to take anything off of the huge medical bill or anything for such a huge and dangerous inconvenience I will not be returning to this vet

Amazing staff, very sweet with my dog always, good products because my dog’s hair is super soft after the bath and smell really good , fast and professional service, discounts if you are often client are a plus. They make sure to check ears and mouth before each service. It’s my favorite place to take Husky for a bath.

Being on hold for the last 30 minutes (and still waiting) reminded me to write a review. This is an average veterinary practice. Nothing special. They do try to tack on as many procedures as they can think of to jack up the price. For example, they told me that they had to sedate my dog to look inside her ear. They wouldn't just do it in one of the patient rooms and they wouldn't let me in the back to be with my dog to keep her calm. She's 26 lbs. I've left their care and am only calling to get my dog's records emailed to me. It's now been 35 minutes and I'm still on hold. Don't waste your time. There are plenty of other average clinics that you might actually get to talk to.

It was a very busy day as so many days are in veterinary hospitals, but everyone took amazing care of me and my dear Rudy! Dr. Kempf was kind, knowledgeable and very reassuring. I look forward to Rudy loving many more years with their superb care. Friendly and helpful team!

Well deserved . ( not saying anything bad about anyone else , but first impressions deserve to be acknowledged) . Will continue my service here with Dr.Jones , unfortunately my dog has passed away , natural causes (rest his beautiful soul) but I do eventually plan on getting another pup soon and will be back . Highly recommend. Amazing and caring staff all throughout

Been going to West Charleston Veterinary for over 15 years. I've had no problems, they understand the needs of my pet, and keeps me informed about their yearly shots. Pet boarding cost is also very reasonable.

Something has changed in a good way. The front desk was friendly and told me all about the new offers. The wait wasn’t long at all. Vet tech was very nice and quick. As usual, Dr. Kempf was great! Answered all our questions, was sweet with Gunner, and genuinely listens. We were in and out in less than an hour. Great experience!

Me & my fur baby “Boozhoo” absolutely love Dr. Jones, been seeing him for almost 8 yrs. I live in the Blue Diamond- Rainbow area and pass numerous Vet offices to arrive at West Charleston. But we wouldn’t have it any other way. The only problem is the front desk. Whenever you call, they put you on hold and you have to wait “FOREVER”!!!! And their phone etiquette is horrible, very unprofessional, as well as one-on-one

Absolute best vet in Vegas. Dr. Kempf has been my dogs vet for 16 years and he’s been amazing EVERY step of the way. He’s kind yet direct, and incredibly knowledgeable. This office is efficient and organized. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I brought my frenchie here to be neutered because they were the only place with a good price that actually did surgery on french bulldogs. Drop off was at 8am and I was checked in within time. I had to fill out three forms. The first one was just general information on myself (the owner). The next two pages were yes or no questions about additional treatment you can add (for additional charges). Since I was already there, I decided to get my puppy a wellness check, his deworming, etc.. I gave them my paperwork and they called my puppy into a room. When I was put in the room, I was told the vet would be with me in a few minutes. I think I waited about 15 mins before someone came in. I don't remember who they were. No exam was done. My puppy was walking around the whole time. She just asked me if he was okay & if he was hyper active. I ended up paying a high bill because of all the additional things that were added. I mean I didn't mind it if it ment my puppy was going to get treated. When I picked him up, no one told me anything about how his teeth were or his ears or eyes. I assumed that if no one told me about it the day of treatment, that they would reach out via phone. I was wrong. I had to call today and the person I spoke with said that it should of been done when we were called in the room. I told her it was not. I let her know my dog has redness in the corner of his eyes and she said she can schedule an appt for me. I would assume that if the doctor did an exam on my dog this would of been caught. Why schedule me for another appt that I would have to pay for when I paid for one the day I took him? It just doesn't make sense to me. I am questioning if my dog was really examined. The girl I spoke with on the phone states that she will have the doctor call me tomorrow when she goes in for her shift. I mean the staff was nice when I took him in, but I don't plan on taking him back. I'm upset that I payed for an exam that I am questioning if was even done. 2/5 stars.

We initially brought our puppy here because his first visit was suppose to be covered financially. Which is what we have in a contract from puppy corner, where we got our puppy. We were charged $300+ for that visit with fees they added on after the visit and was not mentioned when I confirmed over the phone. During appointment: waited 45 minutes to just get called back after our appointment time. We took our puppy back to get neutered and paid almost $300 when online it states about $200 for our dog’s weight. When I called they were unaware their site was out of date with pricing.. During our puppy’s healing from being neutered, we called 2 days after he was neutered, expressing concerns with his stitches opening, swelling and possible infection. They said to “keep him in the kennel and he should be fine, he may be walking around too much.” After 6 days we called again with our concerns and said he needs to be seen. After bringing him back on day 6, we were told we had to pay $600+ for his neuter surgery to be fixed by taking off extra skin. Both times we went in again, we waiting over 30-45 minutes just to be called. We paid over $800 for our puppy to be neutered. When we were told to pick up our puppy at said time after fixed surgery, we waited over 30 minutes again just to speak to anyone/to just pick up our puppy and arrived on time. We did not need to pay or anything during pick up because we paid at drop off. There is a lack of professionalism and care at this clinic.

This little fella was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder a couple years ago and requires more than the usual pet care. Finding reliable/quality vet services was a serious challenge for us due to the ongoing vet shortage and stress on staff. We have been seeing Dr. Gregory Jones at WCAH for almost a year now. I highly recommend Dr. Jones and WCAH to anyone new to Vegas or looking for consistent high-quality vet care. Dr. Jones is knowledgeable, solution/option-oriented, patient, and very kind. He treats my pet with a level of consideration and care that is above and beyond. The staff at WCAH are extremely professional and just as patient. I'm very grateful to Dr. Jones and his staff.

This place was recommended by my co workers. Decided to give them a try and this will be my main Vet from now on. Everyone was professional. Thumbs up to the girl up front for keeping her cool and not letting some impatient customer get to her.

I have brought my two Brussel Griffon dogs into this practice, each one for a separate emergency issue. After taking my dogs to FIVE different veterinarians, I finally found the right one with Dr. Owens, and the staff at West Charleston. They greeted my dog before they greeted me, and had so much compassion and concern for my dogs, and from what I could tell, with other animals there at the time. They are humble in admitting their concerns and questions about what is going on, but go out of their way to find the best care for each individual pet. I wouldn't trust any other hospital to care for my animals, and can't thank the staff here enough for saving both of my dog's lives. For context, my first dog ended up with recurring bladder stones with no history of them, and the other contacted a super rare inner ear virus. Both times were handled with professionalism, but also treated my dogs like they were their own. I completely recommend any doctor, tech, front desk staff, at this hospital for the care and treatment of your pet!

Took my Senior Rescued Cat, " Buddy." Was in desperate need of teeth removals, Ear mites and Ear infection and a bad skin problem . Got him all fixed up, and he feels like a new boy. Vets are on top of their job, front desk ladies are great and understanding. They called and asked if I wanted certain procedures done and how much they were before they started.!! Love these guys. Best Veterinarians in Nevada.!!! All my rescued Babies will go here.... Prices are great, compared to other Veterinarians.

We have been going to West Charleston Animal Hospital for 25 years at least! All of our fur babies; dogs and cats of all breeds and all sizes. Dr. Jones is the absolute best, he's knowledgeable, professional, friendly, understanding and goes out of his way to help, whatever the situation is! He's ethical and a Blessing, we don't know what we would do without him!!! The Moons :)

Even when busy they take the time to answer all my questions, and if one staff member doesnt know they inquire with other staff. They have always been kind, work hard to help and keep me informed on what my pet needs. He's been through treatment for kennel cough and parasites when I got him, all his shots. Now his neuter and the extraction of a deciduous tooth. They even called the day after the surgery to check up on how he is doing!

I recently got a new puppy. She was ill and started to labor breathing, the kind people there got her in right away, and additional testing also revealed tummy issues. They explained everything to me plus recommended a follow up to make sure she had recovered, and set up a schedule to get her all of the required vax and preventive care. They also told me a bit about the breed I was not aware of and recommended a good food to met her needs. It's been about 3 weeks now and my puppy is a bouncing bundle of energy. Thanks for helping her get past that rough spell as gently as possible. Oh and they have an app, good idea!!

My puppy Clyde started going to the office at 7 weeks when he broke his leg. We were in there almost weekly because I swear he just chewed his cast off or got into something to see his ladies! I truly feel like they really care about you and your animal! I will never take Clyde anywhere else. He loves Paige and for good reason, she is awesome! I always tell him that he is going to see his girlfriends every nail trim! They are also super affordable and I have never had an issue making an appointment and getting right in! Highly recommended ❤️❤️❤️

I was very pleased on the way the nurses talked to us and handled Tom I was amazed on how the doctor administered the shots and Tom did not even notice. Such a great experience and low cost vaccinations this will be the only place I take Tom for check ups and vaccines. I have been talking to family and friends and recommending West Charleston Animal Hospital. Thank you!

What a wonderful experience to be with Dr. Johnson and the West Charleston Animal Hospital team! They really love your pets and want to take good care of them. I never feel like they do too much, there preventatives are voluntary and perfect, and the atmosphere is great! My only suggestion is to hire more front desk staff, you never have enough and the phones always ring!

  • 2/5 Samantha F. 2 years ago on Google
I got my puppy's vaccines done here before we move out of state, and each time I have an appointment or call them on the phone for a simple question, I'm on hold or waiting for at least 45 minutes. They must be understaffed but it's very frustrating. The first time I visited them my puppy was unvaccinated so we waited in the car for our appointment. I showed up 10 minutes early for that appointment and was seen an hour late. Very frustrating. I am actually currently on hold with a question about my bill and it's been almost 30 minutes who knows how much longer... But I have had good service otherwise.

  • 4/5 Melissa W. 2 years ago on Google
Been going here for years and they are great. Things have changed since COV19 so I understand that I may not have the whole story, but it would be easier for us to manage our two dogs while we wait if we were placed in an exam room. The only reason I bring that up is because I noticed several that were not being used while we waited in the common area for our dogs to be seen. Not a big deal, but just something I noticed. Thanks for taking such good care of our pooches!

This place is great! I had a particular scenario where my dag was sterilized in San Diego and then moved to Vegas withing the same week of the surgery. I had to get my dogs stiches removed. Most places wanted to charge me $90 just to take a look at my sog and had to set up an appointment. This place not only took us in without an appointment, the veterinarian friendly lasy removed my dog stiches for free! Thank you for being so nice and professional 🙌🏼
