This was a great surprise. Many parks here in Vegas does not have water and of course no ducks. I saw this park while driving by and decided to stop. It is a great place to walk, picnic as well as exercise. There is a trail connected to the park to walk further than the pathways inside the park. Most of the paths inside the park is unpaved but it doesn’t leave you dusty when walking on it.

First time at Sunset Park and I had to make a review as soon as we arrived. It's 9am in the summertime and the park is beautiful. Lots of shade from trees, huge play structures for toddlers and teens and a SPLASH PAD TOO! And a huge grass and picnic area. My pictures do not do this park justice!

This park is a great place to go if you're looking for some green space in the middle of the desert. The pond is pretty and people are always out fishing and feeding the ducks. There are also many picnic areas throughout the park that are covered, which is perfect for escaping the Vegas sun. The park is right next to the airport though, so expect to hear aircraft engines regularly.

The park is doing a phenomenal job at creating a cleaner and safe environment for everyone. They’ve been updating and adding great recreational features including disc golf and pickleball. I think they may be building tennis courts right now. There’s a coffee shop across the street on eastern called Savor that has a great view of the end of the disc golf course and one of the baseball fields. Lots of food and drink options within walking distance.

I was staying in Vegas for a week with my dog. I wanted to go to a decent park. It was pretty good. Never did find the dog park. Came early one day to play fetch with my dog. They have some memorial trees which s cool, but the trees are so dry. We saw a Great Horned owl in a tree! It was cool- take a look at the picture.

Great park that has plenty of playgrounds for kiddos, there are outdoor exercise stations and walking paths, there's a large pond/lake that has lots of ducks and geese both wild and domestic, and it has a 24 hole disc golf course that's very nice. Really enjoyed this area.

Great place to take your kids and chill. Sit out by the pond and watch the geese's or swan's. You would take these geese's is aggressive but they're not. Kids and people can walk and the mix of them. They'll run away from you. I guess these geese's isn't like Chicago geese's when they'll chance you if you come at them😂😂🤣 over Sunset Park is a cool place. My second time there. Althought I often pass it weekly.

Sunset Park is a dream for runners. My visits have only been to participate in the Purple Run 7K, but each visit has been memorable. I sincerely appreciate the scenery. There's nothing like watching prairie dogs and wild rabbits run across the pathway. The mountains are breathtaking too. More importantly, the path we ran was wide enough for walkers and runners. I LOVE it! There's plenty of parking and other amenities in the park. I did a little time to check out the Dune Overlook. Be sure to get a couple of pictures from here. If I was local, I'd be here daily. It's a well-kept park that was built with the community in mind.

Large area. Loved the clean grass and the two separate areas for dog sizes (Below 35lbs and above 35lbs). Some shaded areas. Would be nice to have a few more. Our dog had a lot of fun though and we enjoyed it as well

Great experience at the Sunset Park Sports Complex. So many sports are included in this vast amount of park acreage. Pickleball, softball, tennis, Frisbee golf, walking trails and much more. A clean, safe and welcoming environment. I look forward to going back.

I love going to Sunset Park. I can relax by the lake and watch the geese, I can have a picnic with my family, I can walk or jogged on different trails, and I can just have me time and enjoy the weather. It has other areas that I would not use, but my son loves them; play volleyball on sand, basketball, tennis, baseball, and much more. My favorite part is the kid's water area, is summer I bring my children almost every weekend, this way they are not in front of the TV and they can have fun out of the house! This is place to go for free, to get out of the house and routine, to fresh air, and to enjoy life!

I went to Sunset Park to participate in Pokemon Go Community Day. The temp was in the high 70's. You have many paths to walk around a large lake. One family was racing their remote controlled boat. There is a launching ramp for public use. There are many covered sitting areas. Many trees provide wonderful shade. The park has ducks, pigeons, roadrunners, and other critters who reside around the lake. There are various stations located for different physical fitness practices. Overall a great place for a individual or a family to enjoy the park.

Large community park that includes paved/dirt walking trails, volleyball courts, baseballs fields, tennis courts, and fishing pond that also accommodates remote control boats. Lots of water fowl and tons of parking. Multiple children play areas A great place to exercise too.

My wife and I took our dog Harley there for the first time. We enjoyed how big and clean it was. It has a lot to offer for family get togethers or taking the kids to a playground. They have a Frisbee Golf Course, Playgrounds, Picnic Tables, Restrooms, Small Lake and there is a Police Station in the park. Fishing is allowed when the small boats are not running and you need a fishing license. There is also a biking/walking path that is paved and that looks like it goes a long ways. I was surprised about seeing the trees that had all of the memorial below and in them. They must be dedicating or planting a tree for someone that has passed away. All in all we will go back again when we can. There is plenty of parking available. BTW there was one duck that we noticed that had a bad web foot . Not sure if anyone ever goes and checks out the wildlife.

Diverse mix of ducks and humans in this park. Lots of families, parties, etc. Kind of messy/lots of trash due to all the activity, but I still love it. It's vibrant and bustling and yet there is still a calm about it due to the pond and scenery of the mountains in the distance.

The park was nice . 👌 I didn't know it has a lake. Las Vegas kids directory was celebrating 20 years today. The venue was free. The was a DJ, various jumpers. The Ghost 👻 Busters were there. There was a limbo contest. Facepainting. And drill teams as well as dance companies there. Food trucks were also there.

They have renovated several areas in the park with new play areas. Lots of walking paths to explore. It has a Frisbee golf course and is a great spot for Pokemon Go players. Great place to spend a relaxing day or get some exercise playing basket ball or Volleyball.

This is one of the best parks in Las Vegas. They have just about everything a park should, except a skatepark like some. There are basketball courts, pickleball, beach volleyball, Splashpad, many walking trails and a very nice sized lake with island in the middle of the park. There are many walking trails throughout the entire park from short distance to mile loops. The south portion has natural sand dunes and a nice walking path. There is also a dog park located at the southern border of the park. A great place to hang out on the weekend with the kids, or birthday party. Park has many different parking lots, and lots of greenery.

Fun fishing with kids. Parking about 50 yards from the waters edge. Nice park there for kids too. Peddle boats in summer... Fish aren't very big... But kids love trying to catch fish. Expect a lot of ducks swimming and walking around you and your family. Lots of picnic areas and pavilions.

This park has always been one of my favorites in Las Vegas. Long established with mature vegetation it's an oasis for families. My children enjoyed this park, and now their children are enjoying it. The playgrounds are modern, safe and fun. The pond is nice to walk around and picnic near. Along with ducks and geese, we saw this amazing crane on our last visit here. I recommend this park anytime of year.

It's wonderful place usually just watch people playing volleyball in the sand or watch the ducks swimming around the lake, play some frisbee but it's a very comfortable relaxing place in the middle of the city good family outing location

Sunset park is very beautiful. It’s peaceful and people friendly. There’s a playground for children, places to grill and a nice walking path.

We moved to the Valley about 7 years ago.. We have spent more time at Sunset park then the strip. This is a great location. They have a nice disc golf course. Plenty of biking or walking trails. It is always well maintained and we have never had issues with anyone there. A great place to enjoy the outdoors.

It is a lovely green oasis surrounded by a sea of brown and tan desert. The restrooms need to be maintained. But the shelter area was nice and the grill area worked well.

I've only been here to run the occasional half marathon. There's always plenty of parking entering off of Eastern Ave. The trails have always been clean and well maintained. During the race which is usually early in the morning, besides other race participants, I've shared the paved trails with people out for a morning walk, jackrabbits, quails, and other various small wildlife. Just off the trails, I've seen a few people playing with their radio-controlled vehicles. Overall, it appears to be a great park to visit on the weekends to get some fresh air.

This is the best Festival at Sunset Park, once a year, people from all United States come to show amazing Age Of Renaissance. This is a must experience for the whole family, I could upload more pics but you need to be there in order to really enjoy. My third time in that festival. Every year in November

The sand volleyball courts are so nice! They have been redone, fixed up added to and have a picnic area close to the courts now. It's really nice.

Sunset park is huge. There are several different areas for different activities. The south end has baseball & a big dig park. Then going north is a dessert area with paved trails for walking/biking etc. there are sometimes races taking place in the paths. There is also a lake you can fish in, volleyball, picnic areas, a splash pad, disc golf and probably a bunch more things. The park isn’t always the cleanest but there are tons of events held regularly in different areas from Pokémon to the renaissance fair or food truck festival. Definitely one of the busier parks if not the fanciest or most pristine.

Pretty park for a picnic. Watch out for homeless people. Keep an eye on your valuables and your car. We had a momentom stolen off our 37 Chevy while parked there. We brought our little momentom at Tulsa Oaklahoma on Route 66 and drove to Pekin Indiana and back through Colorado to Las Vegas over 3,000 miles. And someone stole it off our car in the car park here. I saw the man bend down behind our car that's when he took it. :(

One of the few city parks in Las Vegas. It's not that green, but the city IS in the desert, so it makes sense. I saw a lot of rabbits and birds. The lake could be a lot cleaner, and a guy was operating a remote-controlled boat, scaring the birds. Still, it was a nice place.

  • 5/5 Chas S. 1 year ago on Google
We love this park. There is so much going on. Normally, we do the hike around the desert area. We have seen a lot of wildlife including coyotes. The lake is a very nice place to walk around.

Have gone here since my family and I moved here in 2004. Love the place, holds a ton of great memories. It's changed a bit since back then, but it's still one of the best parks in Vegas. You can even go here to fish, if you don't feel like driving all the way to lake mead!

It also has play grounds for kids one wich has a little Waterpark. It also has a lake that you can walk around and see al the diferentes types of birds swimming and walking near it but if you wish to be more relax it also has a trail that it's pretty relaxing and at last, if you head towards warm springs street there is a dog park.
