Wonderful all vegan buffet that is very affordable. Cute location. It has a jungle gym outside that the kids can play on. And a temple as well. I love it here. The c workers are really sweet too

Food was ok, not too exciting. We had to wait for 5 to 10mins for someone to show up and take our order. Ordered thali, and Salad was missing in 2 of 4 thali's. Water is not provided as part of meal. Thali includes roti, rice, 2 sabjis, dessert, pakoda and a glass of juice. Food was tasteless, it was bland without salt/spice.

A MUST TRY if you're making a plan to drive from Vegas to Hoover dam. Whether you are vegetarian or not, the food is absolutely amazing. It is situated at the back of Isckon temple. So, the vibes are pure and serene. I had a really good brunch which kept us full for half of the day.

Most non vegetarian people really like the food. I love their Food but someone needs to tell them to cook it without adding salt. I hope they realize this by reading this post. On some of their fasting days, they will not add certain foods to their menus. Their food takes alot of work to do.

A Krishna friend asked me to try eating here and it was worth it. Vegetarian or Vegan food right next to a beautiful temple. I got takeout but next time I'll be dining in for the buffet. Worth the meal and recommendation. Tried just about everything. The samosas and pakora was delicious as well as the butter nan. I'll be back and I'm glad to discover this place and their food

Hard to find vegan food that is not processed and made to sound like a meat product. If your Vegan why would you want something that replicates a meat recipe. You will not find that here, just wholesome foods turned into tasty vittles, they way they were meant to be eaten. It's simple food meant to nourish the body, not a dining experience. The atmosphere is simple, clean and mindful.

One of the best buffet I’ve ever tried in any Indian restaurant in States. Only for vegetarians & good authentic Indian taste with almost 20 items in buffet. Must visit if you’re in vegas & if you’re vegetarian.

This place is heaven sent for the food its so good! Everything is prepared there by a darling woman named Prima Priya(i hope i spelled that right) she was so kind and inviting and accepting of us newcomers. The foods good,we stayed after for the light ceremony and were invited to the festival of Holi on the 14th. Overall nice place to get indian food and overall culture experience wow!

Absolutely amazing hidden gem! All the food is home-made fresh every day and it is SO delicious. The buffet is a little small but the dishes change all the time so it's rarely the same stuff each time you go - and it's always incredible. Plus the price is inexpensive, especially for the quality of the food, and the woman who runs the place is so sweet on top of everything. Must-go if you like Indian food!!

I can't say enough good things about this place. The food is delicious and the people are so kind and friendly. I make excuses as often as possible for going out to the area (which is a great area, just far from me) just to enjoy this terrific food. I get just about everything in the buffet and it's all great. Truly a lovely place.

Excellent food! It is actual produce made into delicious meals - whole food plant based. It is NOT the highly processed fake meat and cheese that other vegan restaurants serve. My favorite vegan restaurant in the Vegas area. We ate the buffet at lunch time. It was hot and fresh and cost about $13 per person. #wholefoodplantbased #wfpb

The food at this place is decent. Priced at $14.99 for a buffet with limited variety and magnificent quality. Freshly made puri and pakora are yummy here. The seating area is slightly cramped but the service more than makes up for it. There are multiple vegetarian Indian curries available here. Fresh fruit and salad are good additions to classic Indian varieties. Halwa Puri is a must try! Abundant parking space as the cafe is within the temple purview.

The buffet was small but very good. I'll admit I did not know what I was eating but I went back for more. I was a little surprised there was only watter to drink, that's what I normally order so it was fine.

I'm confused by the positive reviews, but they seem to mostly be from 3-4 years ago. We went on a weekday around 12:30 pm. At first I thought it was cool that it was part of a temple and thought we'd be in for an authentic treat. The "buffet" was brown wilted iceberg lettuce, cold unseasoned pasta, brown soggy fruit, dried out rice, spicy broth, and two pretty good dishes of sabji and kofta (I think that's what they were, no signs, no menu). There was also some puri bread and a couple kinds of pakora and samosa as well as a sweet dish. No menu items were available to order. The food is vegetarian/vegan and I would have liked to know which dishes had dairy but there were no labels of any kind. You serve yourself on a cardboard tray and use plastic utensils. Water is not offered but if you notice the cooler and figure out how you can pour your own. No other beverages. I'm giving an extra star for the hostess bringing fresh puri and being friendly, although we never saw her again after that and had to go into the lobby and find someone to give money to when we were done. Definitely a unique experience. I think the cafe is mostly for temple members and I imagine it's better when they have special events or services but it's not really for the casual walk in diner.

I liked it. I love new food experiences and this was one. It's not the food you get at other Indian restaurants. This seems more like home cooking. Great flavors.

  • 5/5 monica S. 6 months ago on Google
Govinda's is the most affordable and homemade Indian buffet. The temple behind the cafe is beautiful and the atmosphere is peaceful. The service depends on who's there working, I've had both good service and not so friendly service, but I will keep coming back.

Food was tasteless, bland, no spice, no salt, burnt, taste like sweet, all the curry was sweet. Really disappointed. Not edible. Samosa was frozen. Don’t recommend at all.

ISKCON is a rural Bengal movement, and the cuisine is expected to be Bengali instead it was from North & South India, of which there are ample restaurants in the USA with vegetarian options. Their logic is that there are not many Bengalis in LV, but this temple restaurant is for all, and they need to know what Swami Prabhupada went though before coming to the USA. The better option is to sit in the temple altar area which is very serene with videos of kirtan. There is a gift shop by the restaurant area. Finally there is an Indian restaurant next door that has Indian veg/non-veg and more variety and comparable pricing, why should people choose this restaurant, just for vegan ?

Terrible quality. Pakoda oil was too bad . Throat got itchy from bad oil. Sabji was a mix of left over sabjis. Rasmalai and spring roll was entirely missing from our order. Dal and Chana tasted so bad. They don't even have basic sense to put enough chutney with pakoda.

We went there with high expectations. Being an Isckon temple restaurant, we were assuming food will be served with love and warmth. Both were missing and food itself was stale and cold. The entire staff has no interest to serve the customers. Both "sewa" and "bhaav" were missing. They should what their teachings preach. It's easy to talk with spiritual teachings, but if you don't walk the talk, then it's largely useless.

10/19-What a wonderful little hidden gem of a place. This is a buffet. And the number of dishes is "limited". But this is a buffet in the back of a temple not some casino! Wife, friend and I arrived at 645 (hour before closing) and were there till they closed. They kept bringing food out when they noticed dishes where empty. 2 kinds of rice. 4 "entree" type dishes. 2 deserts. Potatoes. Salad. Sauces / bread by the dishes. All dishes are vegan sans the galub jamun which had a label stating as such (thank you!). Not gonna lie, was looking for vegan Indian food. Was slightly skeptical when I saw the lay out but, 4 different entree type choices? 2 desert choices? This was enough for my co eaters and I, and we all enjoyed the quality and taste of the food. Def a unique experience and what my perception is, being in the back of their temple, the $ for the buffet goes immediately back into providing an additional $ resource for their temple and it's upkeep. Water is provided but they do have a cooler just outside with Gatorade Snapple bottled water you can purchase. The people working there were amazingly friendly, when my friend asked for something they hadn't refilled yet we were provided all with that option within 3 minutes. Been here in the Vegas area a week and if I come back out of every place I ate, this is the only one I will be coming back too. Cost for all you can eat is beyond fair. Essentially the cost of 1 entree at a Resteraunt, here you get 4 delicious options. And especially after my experiences in vegas this week with horrible service over priced food that was beyond mediocre in casino that have ear shattering noise so it's impossible to talk, I'm so beyond happy this was my last meal and found this place. The food, interactions with the people, and atmosphere was exactly what I needed.

Went for dinner and was extremely disappointed. I have had food in other Iskon places, this place really disappointed me after reading all great reviews. Not all the food tasted fresh except for puri and pakora. There was not enough variety for the buffet. There was brinjal curry where curd had saturated, dal was watery, pakora was uncooked not worth the 14-15$ which is being charged. May be the lunch buffet is good but dinner was not at all good, I regretted going here.

A good array of veg Indian options with a feel at home platter at a very affordable price . Would have loved if the the deserts were hot and could get rotis as well. Would definitely recommend anyone looking for some great veg food and feeling some sick

Awesome Prasadam. 100% pure vegetarian cafe. One should visit for sure. Purity and taste is over loaded. It is due to all food is being offered to the supreme personality of the God Head, Shree Shree Lord Krishna. The buffet price is very economical, affordable and pocket friendly. Highly recommended 👍👍🙏

Very inexpensive food. Take hand made indian rotis as to go. Food is blend but that's what we come here for. Simple light food to give the stomach a break. They have temple services too.

Religious or not, anyone consuming this food can agree it is the cleanest and best quality they have ever eaten. They don't use onion or garlic. It has all the authentic Indian spices and more, but contains zero spicy (chillies). They don't even charge sales tax. If they could ask customers to pay after eating, they will receive more tips.
