I stumbled in here from the strat and boy did I find a gem. The “guilty” in guilty pleasure. Asked for a menu and took a seat, server came back 5 minutes later. Picked the Gyro and Fries, which was $11.99. Food came in about 10 minutes and was hot off the grill, I was impressed. Tasted pretty good for a gyro and fries seasoned well. Server was attentive once I asked for a menu initially. All in all for the $, I think it was a great deal considering 1. You’re in Vegas 2. You’re in a questionable casino whose better days are behind it. If you don’t care about frills and just need something hot and quick, I would stop in again. Its all relative.

Pure nostalgia. We ate here back in 2019 when we stayed at the Strat for my wedding. The fried rice was just as it was before, amazing. My husband had the Pho bowl. He said it was not great but decent. He said it was a bit bland and way too much bean sprouts. I thoroughly enjoyed my rice. I did notice that they had gone up a bit on their prices which is to be expected with inflation.

I didn't satisfied with this restaurnat with several reasons. First, even they are not cheap price but the quality of the food is not that good. Not bad but not that good. Second, they don't accept card. At that time I didn't have enough cash so it made me embarrassed. They mark it with such little characters that I couldn't realize it before paying. Third, they charged me over than I ordered. So I said to staff and correct it.

Nothing on the menu is $5 and nothing worse than going to breakfast only to find your self getting ready to eat in a smoke filled haze of a restaurant. Didn’t try the food….Why would I with all the smoke. Service was subpar. Atmosphere….Just a cancer den. Plus the owners can’t even keep this place clean. It’s freaking dirty and grimy especially from all the second hand smoke; tables are sticky, carpet is dirty, chairs are questionable to sit on. Nothing is clean.

5 Dollar Cafe is located at the far end of Las Vegas Strip overlooking Strat Hotel within the Aztec Casino. From the outside it’s a no, however don’t judge, it’s the BEST VALUE BREAKFAST in Las Vegas, two eggs, two slices of toast and either sausage or bacon for 5 Dollars, you can’t beat it, pay by debit or credit card there is a 1 dollar surcharge, so carry cash. The food is served on plastic plate, the food is served quickly and fresh, everything is hot and just right, the service is quick and efficient, absolutely no complaints. There is other food on the menu which is all of excellent value, saving you more money for the casino and slot machines. A definite definitely place to come for a good value breakfast or brunch or lunch

Don’t get the pho. It tasted like bullion with five spice made with Phad Thai noodles. Meat was chewy. I also got hash brown and bacon. Bacon came out cold like it had been made in a big batch ahead of time. The menu is too big that I think the quality is low. Server insisted I sit at a 2 top near the kitchen even though no one was in the restaurant and there were plenty of seats which is annoying. Also they don’t like you to split the bill. The $5 breakfast is eggs toast and one side which seems like great deal since you can’t get anything for $5 anymore Pretty basic no frills place. I wanted to try a new small spot but I should have just went to dennys The music in the casino was loud and kept cutting out like someone had it connected to Bluetooth but they were a tad out of range so the music kept cutting in and out which was very annoying since it was on full blast. Also they take cash or debit only. No credit cards cause they’re cheap about fees Thai, Vietnamese, Mexican, American food; this place tries to do too much

I've lived within 300 yards of this place for a year and have been passing by regularly for going on 4 years since it's a block away from our favorite staycation location- Sahara Las Vegas. I finally had breakfast here and I've gotta say the food was GREAT. After almost 30 years in San Diego, you get used to having your breakfast burrito made a certain way from your favorite taco shop. Until now, I have been unimpressed with taco shops here in Vegas. I still am, I guess, since this place is not a taco shop- which makes their execution of a darn near perfect breakfast burrito even more impressive. Fresh ingredients, massive in size and plenty of Salsa Verde on the side. Staff was friendly and efficient, The place is clean. Food was delicious. Only downside was the usual suspects that gather around outside the entrance either asking for a cigarettes, getting loaded, or participating in activities that will eventually kill them or find them in jail eventually. More recently there has been a security guard posted out front who has definitely made a positive impact in those folks relocating. I Will absolutely return.

The food here was delicious a perfect place for breakfast. Also had great Thai food for lunch and dinner. We eat here a few times, it was close to the Strat and way cheaper.

***WARNING*** This place will rip you off intentionally. Their menu says a 20% gratuity will be added to a party of 5 or more, but they straight lie. When my group of 4 went to eat, they added the gratuity to our bill, but didn't list it as a tip and they still asked for a tip like they hadn't received one. I didn't realize this until I went a second time and they did the same thing when it was just my wife and I. When I called them out on it, they tried to act like it was a mistake, but it's obviously part of the scam when I was given a different receipt on the second visit. We also saw two waiters grab a customers card that was left behind on accident. We could see the two laughing, passing the card from one to the other, and generally just trying to sneakily hide the card. This place is shady AF!

Exceptional breakfast at an incredibly reasonable price! As visitors from out of town, we were growing weary of the steep costs in the city, making this hidden gem the ideal spot for us.

The owner is an amazing man! The food is all recipes the owner and his spouse came up with. One of the only places i know that serves breakfast, Thai,Mexican, American food and it all tastes great. The location is sketchy which makes finding this place a hidden gem. I have been multiple times. This is a small business that puts the bigger restaurants to shame. I've had just about everything on the extensive menu. It's amazing because I've seen the cook;an older Latino woman who cooks EVERYTHING. This place is a must try! This place is why it's important to support small businesses! Thank you for everything Gabriel and mama Maria!

The pho is a cardinal sin. Instant pho noodles with bullion cubes and five spice or allspice. It feels like I just committed a crime by eating here. The coffee is K Cup coffee so don't expect much. Waiters were nice though so I'll give them that. Very attentive and courteous

If you're more into the expensive restaurants, then don't come here, tbh, this is a nice small place, they have a little bit of everything they even have Pho soup, they just need to add the basil leaves, but it has a good flavor, other than that, they have good meals at an affordable price, if you come in the morning, they are busy with breakfast and get overwhelmed with the service since they're probably not used to be busy and take a little longer to serve your food, but have patience, if you go to Denny's or Ihop they take twice the time to serve you and I don't see people complaining and by coming here you'll be supporting small businesses.

This restaurant is probably the best I’ve been to. Me and my family came here all 4 days we were in Vegas. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone. They have The best breakfast and The best fried rice.

Loved this place. Free drinks while gambeling. Great food well worth the price. The Nutella crape is to die for and the 5$ Breakfast filled us up. This place is a gem, but if your looking for fancy and upscale move on. I really enjoyed low stakes gambeling and simply having fun. I could ball out on a budget unlike the overpriced casinos.

We stumbled upon this place while wandering around the strip. Inside of this building is a small casino as well as locals trying to sell you packages you don’t need outside. What we quickly realized is they cook a large variety of food and it reminded me of a mixture of American food mixed with a little bit of everything else. Prices were okay, once you start eating in Vegas you quickly realize that everything is inflated. Yet our food was what you would expect of a small diner trying to rifle out a lot of different types of dishes quickly, greasy, overcooked and a little bland. I am easy to please when it comes to food and I would not recommend this place for a family wanting a good meal, but if you want to eat quick and move on this would be your place. I also would not recommend the breakfast, or at least over easy eggs, mine were very undercooked and gooey

Great deal for a breakfast stop. Food was delicious. There's seating in the casino so you chance having a person smoking nearby. Also seems under renovations.

After eating at bougie breakfast places for the weekend, 5 Dollar Cafe was perfect. Fast, simple, eggs were cooked perfectly, cash or debt only, no fuss basic breakfast. Exactly what we needed on the go, across from the street from the Strat. Also, don’t let the shady folks in front of the Aztec Casino scare you off, you’re safe inside. 🙌

Looks are deceiving- if you get past the shady parking lot and the dude smoking crack in the corner, you enter in to the edge of a casino with this diner that takes you back to 80s vibe atmosphere, and some of the most delicious and homely cooked breakfast. They even have option for Thai style food too. 11/10 recommend for a good breakfast after a crazy night!

Customer Service was bad and wasn't friendly to African American citizens. To top it off it was my cousin 1st time visiting Vegas. The experience was so low there were a guy sleeping near the entrance of the restaurant. There's no type of welcoming into restaurant. Employees you had to ask for condiments several times before it was serve. I don't know how this restaurant is still open. We will not be returning there no time soon.

Only one thing is $5, but that being said, it’s reasonably priced. The food is tasty and plentiful! Staff was very friendly!

Really a decent little spot. It was our first meal in Vegas and we've been back. The basic breakfast is fantastic value at $5. My kid got chow mein and shrimp yesterday and it wasn't what I'm used to but it was *really* good! Super friendly and hard working staff. Nothing we have ordered has been a disappointment,

Soon as we walked in they already had a table for us. Checked on us multiple times. Food was good and FAIRLY priced. Played good classic rock the whole visit. Definitely a hole in the wall that you must visit.

  • 1/5 Skyler V. 6 months ago on Google
I dont understand how this has such high reviews. The good: relatively inexpensive compared to anywhere else around and quick service. But other than that, what a hole in the wall. Walk past a man sitting outside smoking a cigarette. It's half gaming slots half restaurant. Everything is old and outdated. You have to ask for a key to use the restroom. Service had language barriers. You have to butter your own toast. Eggs looked brown and not in over cooked way. The menu states gratuity is added for parties more than 5 but was automatically added to our table of 4. Sounds like they automatically do it for everyone now based on an owners comment so they should update that notice. It's enticing for the price but I'd avoid eating here.

While waiting for comedy show at Strand, searching for good, found this place. Good sandwich options (all with fries), avg $12. No credit cards. Low stars because for 2 of us, they added 20% without noting it as a tip on the receipt. There are no posted signs noting automatic gratuity.

If you're looking for an affordable meal in Vegas, look no further. Best option in this area for cooked food, being tired of fast food. Clean place with some flavour of classy Las Vegas within and a very friendly owner (salutari!)

Awesome. Excellent breakfast. Fair prices. But Slow service. Like the waitors and waitresses are trash.Hit or miss hours.😰 It's like they open and close at complete random times, whenever the F**K they pass a Bowell November

It's a great little place for an inexpensive meal. Our server Merybeth was super friendly and very attentive. The pad Thai was pretty good, and served on tin foil in a basket, making it easy to pack the left over away. We also ordered some sandwiches to go, and the fries that came with it was very good! (Haven't had the sandwich yet. I was a bit sceptical before coming here to eat, but I'd not hesitate to come again. Would Probably try their $5 breakfast tomorrow.

I read a review on this place before we went to Vegas, and this place earns 5 stars! The service is fast, the food is incredible, and the prices are extremely reasonable. Why would you spend big money at the Strat when a short walk across the street will give you much better satisfaction?

  • 4/5 Ian W. 2 years ago on Google
Only one menu item was $5, but the prices are still very reasonable. Service was friendly enough. Food was good quality and generous portions. The ambiance was the level of funky we enjoyed. Definitely recommend if you're in the area or tired of $50 meals from the Strat.

Good but smoker friendly not happy smelling smoke while you eat but people are nice

  • 3/5 Gena E. 3 years ago on Google
It's cheap so if your looking for a deal it'll fill you up. The eggs were good but they charge a dollar extra for cheese. The asain Nutella crepe was the worst crepe I've ever had. They also only do bottled water and it's a dollar. You cannot split the bill and they charge a $1 for anything under $15

  • 3/5 Melissa G. 1 year ago on Google
Very weird atmosphere. Since we had a large party we were seated in the middle of the casino at breakfast with someone drinking and smoking on the slot machine literally right beside us. The food was surprisingly decent though.

  • 5/5 S T. 1 year ago on Google
You know...because of the location and the demographics and just the general surroundings..I'm sure this place easily gets a bad rap or people might avoid it but I just happened to spot their $5 breakfast sign one day and locked it in my mind. The first time I went my party was huge and I spent a bunch. I had a feeling if they served just a small selection of Thai dishes like they do there might be a little bit of legit Asian cooking happening there and I think I was right. So when I went back I made sure to order off that part of the menu and I was not disappointed. I would recommend this little café, I think it's a bit of a little gem in the rough of Naked City.

  • 4/5 Kimberly A. 7 months ago on Google
Came here for a quick and cheap bite to eat. And it served it's exact purpose. Menu is simple but should satisfy most. Breakfast stops being served by 2pm but the breakfast menu has many cheap options. There is also a bar, bartender was friendly and attentive. Drinks are cheap here too. The small casino area plays music while you enjoy your gamble. Cool little spot to check out.

  • 3/5 Michal M. 1 year ago on Google
Went for the 5$ breakfast… but after the addition of coffee, tax and the tip, the price turned out to be 10$ pp 😁 .. the coffee was horrible, the fried eggs were perfect

  • 4/5 Daniel A. 2 years ago on Google
Food - 2/5 Atmosphere - 2/5 Service - 4/5 Not bad, for what it is. The bartender was rude, but the bar seems to be a separate entity to the cafe. It is pretty crammed but, $5.00 breakfast is pretty good. The cook botched the over medium and cooked them wayyy over. But, again - $5. The price really makes this place good.

  • 5/5 Jessica H. 2 years ago on Google
For the price, this place is great. Don’t expect traditional pad thai, but regardless this is still delicious. Tastes like something you would make at home, it’s great. Not photogenic but slap some sriracha on it and it’s perfect. I chose level 5 spicy, and put some hot sauce to level it to my liking. Also the french fries were freshly fried and super tasty. The waiter was so kind and fast. I’m looking to eat here more than once during my stay.

My wife and I were staying at the Strat, and their cafe didn't have what we wanted. We walked across the street to 5 Dollar Cafe. The place looks a little rough around the 6 that shows the place has been around for a while. We sat immediately after walking in. The dining room was small with a no frills approach. The menu had a lot to offer and several different styles of food. My wife opted for a chicken stir fry while I got their meat loaded omelet. Both dishes arrived together and were hot. The stir fry and rice filled the entire plate. The flavor was enjoyable, veggies were fresh, and the rice was cooked properly. My omelet arrived exactly as the menu described. It filled the majority of the plate. The meat and eggs were cooked together perfectly. Although the omelet didn't need it, adding hot sauce complimented it. Good service, good food, and great prices are a winning combination. I'd definitely return again.

In town for a festival, along with thousands of other people. Came in for breakfast before hand, although smaller than many other spots around it, the crowd was noticeable. The staff were so kind, helpful and genuinely smiley, even with the throngs of hungry people. We only waited maybe 20 minutes. I was thoroughly impressed with how well the small staff handled it all with such grace. We ordered an philly cheese steak breakfast burrito and a bagel sandwich. The portions were very generous and the food was quite tasty. I would definitely recommend and will eat here again.

We thought we'd save money here. But we spent $40 for two. The food was okay. We ordered two $9.99 breakfasts. 1 bowl of fruit. Two coffees and two waters. All that came to $40. We were better off the stay done at the hotel restaurant. Bigger potions. Better food. Same price.

  • 2/5 Thao L. 9 months ago on Google
Food is blah. Combination chow mein $15.99 was served on a plastic basket usually for French fries, mostly large chunks of cabbage, small amount of noodles, and 2 shrimps. Egg rolls was 4 for $6, but it's filled with only cabbage sopping in oil without any sauce. Cash only. Payment before food delivered. Sketchy location with people smoking inside. My first meal upon arrival in Vegas this time and it was a total disappointment 😞 😒 😑.
