Amazing and very educational experience. Most of the lions are former MGM lions but some were born at the facility. There are a total of 27 lions at the ranch as of today. All are beautiful and majestic but Geno is my favorite. Facility has two each Emus, Ostrich and Tortoises and one 16' Giraffe, Ozzie who also paints. You can pick up souvenirs at the gift shop, including Ozzie's artwork on canvas and shirts. Stuffed animals and other gifts available. Best part is seeing these majestic animals and their relationships with the staff - there is respect for each other on both sides and the habitat provides exceptional care for these beautiful animals.

Great place to see lions near close. Keepers are very friendly and kind to explain details of lion's behaviors and characteristics. Also they have a giraffe that you can see closely and draw the painting on the t-shirt. And a parrot show is held right after. The whole place is small and you won't be taking over 2 hours to see it all even walking slowly. Oh and they have Emu too. It would be much more convenient if you visit their website first to check times and waivers before visit.

This little gem is a MUST do whether you are a local or visiting. Locals do get a discount for entry, which was only $20! There are several activities like feeding one of the Lions you can purchase for a small added on fee. The facility is super clean as well. You would never think that so many lions are housed here. There are also some gorgeous birds as well as ostriches to view. Now, for the most exciting part is have you ever seen a giraffe paint before? If not, than you must go visit Ozzie and watch him do some magnificent painting! You can also purchase tickets to feed Ozzie as well! Locals they are always looking for volunteers as well! So, if you love animals, why not share that love and become a volunteer! The staff of super knowledgeable about all of the animals and are very friendly!

This local Lion Habitat in Henderson offers visitors a unique and up close experience of lions and other animals in their enclosures. This non-profit facility houses over 20 lions amongst other animals and is operated primarily on donations. It’s been at its present location since 1989 and officially opened its doors to the public a few years later. Seeing lions in this environment is simply amazing and speaks volumes of the work staff and volunteers do on a regular basis to ensure the animals receive the appropriate care and needed attention. This is a great educational opportunity for children as well as adults on the importance of these types of facilities to society and to the preservation of wild life.

This is a small ranch not far from the Las Vegas strip. It is where the lions from the MGM Grand hotel have retired. It's a wonderful sight to see these creatures lounging and enjoying their retirement. (I'm so jealous!) You can feed them for a fee. If the cost is too steep, feeding Ozzie the giraffe, or the emus is a cheaper option. Ozzie also "paints". (Much hyped and overrated.) There are also ostriches, macaws, and cockatoos and they provide many picture taking opportunities. There is an admission price but seniors get a discount 👵🏾. It's a great opportunity to see lions up close so take your kids. Take Grandma too. The park is not overwhelmingly large and you can go at your own, slow pace. I think there are a total of nine of them. There ranch makes for a very nice low-key outing.

Great Place for the kids!!.. Nice experience to get away from the norm for awhile. Explore through Lions and Tigers, Ostriches, Exotic Birds... Etc... And end the tour off meeting Ozzie the Giraffe... While visiting Ozzie, You're able to feed him or watch him paint a picture. That was one of the best experiences for my daughter, I'm sure she'll cherish this moment...🙂🙃🙂 And trust and believe... As a Dad, I'm glad I gave it to her!!.

This was a great place. Perfect for families and nice to get off strip for a bit. The lion habitats have great views and you are right there by these amazing cats. OZZIE the painting giraffe is pretty cool and puts on a great show. You can feed the giraffe or lions for an extra fee. We will defiantly be back again.

What an awesome place to visit! I'd love to actually volunteer at this place if I lived in the area. My wife and daughter very much enjoyed our time here. The lions all started roaring at the same time and that was great! Very highly recommend visiting if you're in town for a visit or if you have never been here. The employees were all super friendly and very helpful!

Excellent place to take the kids. I've never experienced in any zoo the sight of lions so close. There's one spot where you can sit down in front of the glass and almost have the lion "take a selfie with you"... They also have a giraffe there and you can feed it yourself. (for an extra little fee, but the kids would love it!) There are some big toucans and talking ones. A few other animal enclosures. The staff was very informative and friendly.

The lion habitat ranch is an amazing facility! Very interactive and super nice and educational staff. Feeding the giraffe is a super cool experience and everyone should do it! I even bought one of his paintings then got to take a picture with him with the painting! Will definitely go again and again!!

We took our toddlers there and it was a great experience being able to be so close to these exotic animals. Each child fed Ozzie the giraffe and they were so excited. It was only $10 extra to feed him and I believe the entrance was $18 for locals and it included one child!

First time coming here, and we loved it! The name says it all, Lion Habitat! Lots of lions, and a few birds. One famous giraffe named Ozzie that can paint!🦒😍 My husband paid for the painting giraffe experience and it was well worth it! Got to be the main star, and have him paint me a special painting! I love giraffes so this is a must for a giraffe lover! The experience itself was $100 which including feeding him while he paints. I think it's a one time thing to do though as it's a pretty small place. I would come back just to see Ozzie again and feed him! Everyone was so sweet and kind! Would recommend to come visit!🦒

Not that large, but there is plenty to see for the price of admission. Ozzie the painting giraffe is definitely a must see. After seeing him in all his majesty, we splurged and got an authentic piece. We got to interact with him while he painted it too! Definitely a memorable experience. He is quite talented and loves his greens treats. They have a lot of staff throughout the property that you can talk to about the animals. It's noticeable that the animals are well taken care of, which I was happy to see. They use the money for admission and from the gift shop to put toward the facility and providing for the animals, as well as contributing to taking care of retired performance animals among other causes. Enclosures are clean and well kept. Plenty of photo ops, if the animals feel like it. They are providing a service and voice for animals that can't be put back into the wild. Definitely a sanctuary and should be commended for their efforts. This is not a cash grab! Be mindful around the lions, as they have tendencies to spray from what I've heard. I have to admit, as weird as it may seem, that the coolest part of our visit was when the lions all started to talk to each other. It was very audible and when it started I thought they were playing the sounds over a PA system until it got progressively louder and I realized what it was. Super cool experience that gave me goosebumps. The birds were super cool too! Lots of talking. If you're on the fence about visiting definitely check it out, especially if you're and animal lover. There aren't too many options for families similar to this offered in the Las Vegas valley. While it's not required, I do recommend purchasing tickets online just so you can get through the admission office more quickly. Just remember, as with any animal experience, you're on their schedule.

It wasn't like we expected, but I appreciated the care for animals. It was really small, a few lions, some birds, ostriches, and a giraffe. I may have missed a few, but it was one small loop around with a little gift shop by the giraffe area. Only one family is allowed in the gift shop at one time and masks are required on everyone. It was super dusty and windy today so it helped having sunglasses but not much. You couldn't feed the animals and it was self-guided only. I did ask about the animals and if they could go back into the wild after being rehabbed, but they said they couldn't because they wouldn't know how to hunt and it would take generations to remove them expecting food from humans. Their living spaces just looked so small with no room to roam. My kids were pretty saddened by it but they understood. Thankfully, the price was pretty reasonable and the staff was really nice, but it is definitely a one-time kind of visit in my opinion.

Love this place. Love feeding the giraffe. Love hearing the terrifying sound of the lions roaring. You can get so close and see these beautiful animals. Also all the different birds and the tortois. Doesn't take a long time and you can do a few laps and see a lot of different things happening and trainers interacting. Lots and lots of lions to look at.

I took my wife for her birthday and it was a wonderful experience. We feed lions and a giraffe and found out that giraffes are slowly going extinct. It wasn't expensive and the cost to feed them was understandable because the funding goes to help the lions and birds, plus the giraffe

I had an absolutely amazing time at the Lion Habitat Ranch! The experience of feeding Ozzie the giraffe was truly unforgettable. Being able to get up close and personal with such a majestic creature was a dream come true. He also paints! The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and made sure the encounter was both safe and informative. Feeding a lion was another highlight of the visit. The thrill of being able to watch these powerful predators up close was exhilarating. The trainers ensured a secure environment, and their passion for the animals was evident in the way they interacted with them. Overall, the Lion Habitat Ranch provided a unique and unforgettable experience that allowed me to connect with these incredible animals in a responsible and educational manner. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for an extraordinary wildlife encounter.

Great time for all! The staff is very knowledgeable about the animals and all were extremely nice and seemed to enjoy being at the habitat. Very clean and easy for anyone with limitations such as needing a wheelchair or scooter. If you haven't been you need to go! The money you spend goes right back to the animals, and it shows!

Went as a chaperone for my son’s field trip and it was amazing! The handlers are very helpful and knowledgeable on all their animals. The animal interaction was educational for the kids and the parents. I had not heard prior to the field trip that this place existed but I’m happy it does. We had to each pay $20 to get in. Parking is decent for the size of the field.

I would give this place 6 stars if I could! I had the best time with Ozzie painting experience such a wonderful interaction and you can tell he thoroughly enjoys it!! The lions were amazing! My favorites were Winston and Rocky!!! I have to say this place was spotless, impeccable! Every cage was very clean- even the birds cage!!! All toys, water troughs, cooling boxes Super clean and in good condition. Even zoos cant manage this standard! All the staff were super friendly and informative. All the animals were wonderful, and although there is fencing and a railing you get close. Every animal is so happy and well taken care of !! This is a must see , for locals and tourists alike!

I can’t say enough good things about this place. The staff is amazing in that they will take the time to answer all of your questions and they do so in a manner that makes you feel like they are enthusiastic and passionate about their job. Both my kids, aged 9 and 11, asked several questions of each trainer/keeper and each of them was friendly and engaged. They answered questions and provided a wealth of information. There is no other place where you will get such an up close experience with Lions that you can feel really good about. They do not allow you to touch or pet the lions or do anything to them that is not natural for them. The demonstrate the love and respect they have for these magnificent animals through their actions. The lions all look happy and healthy. I have now been here twice and I can’t wait to return. There is also a giraffe that paints, some really great parrots and an emu and ostrich. It’s better than the zoo. I definitely recommend it. As a Father’s Day gift I paid for my husband to feed one of the lions. It’s safely done through plexiglass but that doesn’t take away from how amazing the experience is. I definitely recommend it.

The photo in the jeep, behind her is a real lion 🥹 From what I heard, the lions living here were from MGM, it's kind of like their retirement home. Their Ozzie the Giraffe is a gentle giant who loves to paint 🥺🫶🏻 Cool ambiance, clean area and friendly caretakers!!

Great alternative adventure to the hustle and bustle of the strip. Not well publicized so I'm glad I found it. Learned a great deal about the history of the MGM lions and these lions in particular. Many of the lions are veterans of the MGM Lion Habitat before it ended. The individuals 'on duty' at the MGM were rotated from about 20 in the group. Crate trained, they were moved to the hotel for their 'shift' and, if one wasn't in the mood to 'work', someone else who was more eager got the call. The animals here are Barbary (now extinct in the wild) from the MGM and South African lions from other rescue/exotic parks that closed. The oldest girl, Chilly, will be 20 this year, almost twice what her life expectancy in the wild would be. Along with the lions, there are 'rescues' of other species living here including tortoise, ostrich, emus and cage birds that people dropped off. (Never get an exotic bird if you aren't prepared for the long haul investment...it ain't a parakeet that dies at 2). The ornery artist, Ozzie, is a highlight. He had to be moved because his dad at the facility he was born at wasn't okay with another guy around, even his son. He does some great artwork and is fun to get up close and personal with to feed. Easy going and gentle but also a teenager who likes to remind his keepers some time. Be sure to take your time so you don't miss Harry and George's keeper demonstrating examination through a little meatball enrichment. Spend a little and feed or paint with Ozzie. Spend a lot and feed a lion. And don't miss posing with Shifty as he sits on the land rover right behind your head. The staff here is amazing. Knowledgeable, friendly and interactive with all the guests. You can tell they love their charges. This is a hidden gem, not to be missed

Everyone I spoke to shared immense knowledge about the animals in their section. Stuff you cannot learn from Google because it's things they either learned from experience or it's selective to their particular breed mixes (lions), or their particular picky eater giraffe! The paintings their giraffe make are fun because he has favorite colors and he can see colors as good as humans! They have Safari type hats that he paints and then there's little giraffes with the same kind of hats on, so I suggested to the habitat that he paint the little hats as well and sell them as sets because people like me would have bought both! Lol In conclusion, it's a wonderful place and I will be returning.

I visited the Lion Habit Ranch on a chilly day so attendance was light. The lions here are well cared for and the staff are engaging with them so there's ample entertaining for patrons. The staff are friendly and talkative so you can learn about the facility and the animal residents. In absence of a zoo in Las Vegas, the Lion Habitat Ranch is a great option. I enjoyed my visit and recommend.

This place was AMAZING!!! The staff were amazing and made sure everyone had their masks on correctly. It's all outside and is great for keeping distance. There are some really cute lions and birds. Ozzy is the only giraffe to ever live in Nevada he is a great painter as well. The gift shop has many wonderful options at any price including ozzys paintings. I definitely recommend this for all ages.

Amazing place! They explained everything correctly to me when I walked in since I had ordered online ahead of time just to be sure I was guaranteed entry upon arrival. I got refunded $25 since it was my birthday month. The lions and animals there were cool. Just be careful of them shooting out pee. Ngl, it didn't stink but not as bad as I thought they also allowed you to feed the girafee for an extra $10. My only downfall is that they only had 1 bathroom and no changing table. My son and family had a great time we would attend again.

A fun place to walk around and see some exotic animals. The main attractions are the giraffe, who paints clothing (they are for sale in the gift shop) and the many different lions. For an exorbitant fee you can feed the lions some raw meat. They lions are always excited for these feedings. Don't worry, there are many safety precautions and it's almost impossible to get injured. The cost to get in is also quite high but at least the proceeds go to supporting the habitat.

Very cool experience. The animal enclosures are kept very clean. The staff was great in answering questions. Ozzie the giraffe was so much fun to watch as he painted our merchandise. I wish they had family memberships. We are planning to go behind the scenes with a party of 6 in May!

I had such a blast it was pretty cool gem to find in Vegas. The volunteer order lady was such a pleasure to talk to wish I could've remembered her name 😊. The Lion even came out for photos so we were ecstatic.

An experience that's hard to out in words. Enriched me as a person and changed my outlook on a lot of things. The lions and the giraffe are a sight for sore eyes. Two feet away from their eyes is a wonderful illuminating experience!

My family really enjoyed our visit! I loved seeing the lions and was able to catch staff feeding a couple of the lions. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable while answering questions. We missed the giraffe painting but still saw the giraffe and purchased a painted tshirt. This place appears to take great care of their animals.

If you compare what you get for the price you pay you might be disappointed. Instead think of your ticket price like you're "donating" to the park & that's well worth it. The staff was wonderful!! Very friendly & knowledge. It is a smaller place so you're probably not going to stay long. It's of course outside so summer heat is a doozie. All the loins were sleeping in their boxes so I'm not sure what time of day would be best to see active lions however lions do sleep 20 hrs a day. Ozzie was awesome!! Got to see his painting show & opted to feed him.

It’s pretty simple we just walk around in a big circle and look at all the lines. During the hot months they like to hang out in their dens because they have their swamp coolers so there’s not always too much activity. The giraffe is awesome to see he likes to paint they call him ozzy. something to do with the kids and get out the house but I hope that they would add to and make it a little bit more entertaining. I wouldn’t spend more than a couple hours here. Just not much to do when the lions are in active.

They took in the Lions from the MGM habitat after they shuttered in favor of retail. It is an interesting educational experience. The animals appear to be well taken care of.

This is a great place to visit. You don't have to be a kid. They do great work here as employees and volunteers. If I lived in Vegas I would be volunteering here. They have some great experiences you can do too. We did watch Ozzie the giraffe paint and then I got to buy the reusable bag he painted on. This is a must see in Vegas. They are also a non profit.

We visited the lion habitat ranch in November 2023. It was amazing, from general admission to hand feeding the lion, every penny is worth it. We did the shared lion feeding, and no you are not in the cage giving it meat, it's completely safe. At the beginning they announce your feeding so others may watch, you can take photos while feeding. After they pose the lion in its trained position, one waves the others stand on hind legs, for a special photo opportunity. It really was an amazing facility, the animals were well kept, and the staff are really friendly and knowledgeable.
