Everyone I served with no longer goes to the VA. The civilians running the VA aka civilian affairs is doing the same as our government. They don't care. After being placed on multiple medications that landed in the hospital numerous times and they refused to make adjustments. I'm sorry I didn't deploy numerous times just to die over having a severe reaction to multiple medications. I simply believe they do not have what's best for my interest. I don't trust them. I will do what most combat vets do and seek better treatment elsewhere.

There are some good people here....(one of my Psychs who resembles Chuck Norris is awesome) but unfortunately the vast majority of people are not helpful at all. This is the worst care I've ever received. I'm talking multiple departments. I had a miscarriage and I was directed to go to a specific facility that actually had no ultrasound machine. I ended up driving hours all over the city going to different VA hospitals while I was actively miscarrying because the woman who directed me had no clue what she was talking about. I have painful chronic issues with my eyes, when I went to get seen about them I was met with uncalled for attitude and no help. Mind you, I was very pleasant and non confrontational. I always am respectful, but STILL. This chick had the audacity to have attitude. I used to work in the medical field...and I would never take my day out on my patients. A lot of these workers need to find new jobs. Good luck getting a dentist appointment...ha! I scheduled one, but it was around 4 months away....decided to try community care as they suggested...never got called. I sent them an email via myhealthevet asking for help since I couldn't reach community care...and was IGNORED. It says they read my email, yet no response. I've experienced bad treatment, but never have I been fully ignored when asking for care. I had a moment and was being honest about my mental health...woke up the next morning to the cops at my door and was put on psychiatric hold for a week against my will. Now I trust no one. A lot of these 5 star ratings are for how the facility looks...which is dumb. Doesn't matter how nice a building looks if all the staff is incompetent. Sucks that this is my only option since I have no other medical coverage. Makes life that much harder when the medical staff makes it obvious they don't care about you at all. It hurts. They actually don't give a *** about any of us, and it's VERY triggering. Veterans...we should do something about this. We need to stand together for the sake of our health. If you are interested in collaborating a peaceful protest or something, send me an email. valisiareed at G mail. I'll let you know how many other people are interested so far, and we can all do something about this together.

Hands down, worse patient care I have received at any VA facility. If people answer calls, they transfer you because it's not their job. Patient advocates look at the creen and type rather than look at you and help. You can sit for over an hour, ask 4 times when you eill be seen, and thr doctor still won't have time to get you out of the empty waiting room. They triage you in a room full of people listening to your medical history. I would rather die at home, alone and in pain, than continue care here.

What happened to this facility? Only the medical staff are great...when I say medical, I mean have a medical degree, NOT the front desk, not the cashiers at the cafe, not the admin workers. First time in this hospital in over a year. To the ladies who were in the Patriot Cafe today with your VA badges, NOBODY wants to hear about how wasted you were on Monday coming in to work. Have some professionalism in your job. You can easily tell which workers were prior military and those who never served! Complete disrespect for those you are supposed to be helping!

My fellow veterans struggling with mental health issues: if u are having a mental health emergency or crisis, u may want to kill urself before seeking help here. Ok, all sarcasm aside.. I was a patient admitted to the mental health unit & it was a horrific experience. "Nurse" Vimal Patel should not work in a hospital. He makes people worse, not better, by exercising poor judgement through his limited & closed-minded thinking. He is cocky & seeks approval and the attention of his supervisors through his overstated inaccurate opinions - longing to fit in & impress. Mr. Patel, you are still young.. Plz find a career that makes you feel better about yourself.

Don't get wounded in combat and expect the VA to care because they don't. They make you feel like you're a burden and we wonder why gen Z doesn't want to join the military.

This VA has given me issues since 2021 when my medical condition began to fail me and few of their staffs are incompetent so they listen to the higher leadership but to play along their dirty games and they know it will put bad things and twisted information on each pt's med notes whether true or not. I've been under their care since 2012 and we're like going back to each other like dogs and cats. It's all about for the benefit VA and not for all their veterans from what I"ve seen so far. Been asking for Community Care PCM due to the unhealthy environment that is so shady that no patient veterans sees this as long as the VA gives them better treatment than the ones who don't give the remaining veterans the same treatment.

If you hate your job, Don't work for the VA. If you're not willing to do your best, Don't work for the VA. If you're burnt out, don't take it out on Vet.

I receive care here and am never disappointed. The only drawback is they are so good, everyone has figured it out and they get busy. The hospital is clean and orderly. Everyone from the schedulers to the surgeons has treated me very well. I have stopped using my insurance even though I have full coverage just because the VA is a one stop shop that makes everything so much more pleasant.

I'm a Veteran. I exclusively use the VA for my healthcare. I've never had a negative experience here. If you are a Veteran, register for care, get your service-connection paperwork started, get your benefits. You deserve them. Semper Fi.

Absolutely horrible!! I have been in so much pain with my right leg/back for the past 5yrs and all they continue to have me do is physical therapy. The pain management doctor, Dr. Aziz continued to say there was nothing wrong with me. I finally seeked an outside provider through my employer and was told the pain is serious and possibly related to a compression fracture I had in 07. I am now getting proper treatment to hopefully reduce/eliminate the pain. The VA healthcare has cause me so much frustration and stress because I’ve been in so much pain and constantly pushed around within the hospital. Apparently, no one could figure out what was wrong with me. It took an Orthopedic doctor out in town to figure it out in 1 visit.

Fairly new facility, clean and easy to navigate inside. Check-in kiosks are great as well as all the available maps , signs, and directions. If your still lost, there are helpful folks at the information center. Free WiFi is available as well which is a nice touch for those with smart devices during long wait times. I've had blood work done here and was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Prescription area tends to be a long wait though, but that's the way it is at any hospital, drugstores, or clinics.

Don't bother trying to get anything done in a timely manner. It takes months to get any specialty care, and don't even think about using community care. It's about 6 weeks to get a call from them to authorize anything, and when you try to call them there isn't a human to answer. It often hangs up on you. I suggest you do as I do, and just wait to die. It'll be faster, and less disappointing.

It will always be cheaper for veterans to take their own lives, than have the VA provide us with years of medical or mental health treatment. It’s truly sad, but it is part of the real truth. I’ve lost 4 brothers to Suicide and 7 overseas, yet I a disabled combat veteran have to wait weeks to months for any mental health or primary care appointments.

On December 27 my husband passed away at the VA Hospital. I would like to thank everyone associated with his care, especially everyone on the 5th floor. They all went above and beyond. Cannot thank you all enough. God Bless you all.

These physicians and staff have the worst moral of any VA facility in a U.S. They will let you suffer and laugh in your face when you’re begging for treatment. With this Southern Nevada VA, if you get sick, die quick! If you don’t, you’re gonna wish you had!πŸ‘ŽπŸ‘Ž Heartless and cruel!

The check-in reps are histerical. And no it's not funny. When the kiosk down and they have to check you in manually, omg! Some of them talk entirely to much which causes the line to build up and you have a 15 minute late window. I understand being empathetic but at some point limit the chatter to keep from being rescheduled and other Veterans complaining. It's horrible enough being treated like a guinea pig.

It's like getting your medical care from the DMV. Extremely unfriendly and they DGAF about you. You're just a number to check off in the system.

Stay far away from the ARNP Granello! He/she used to practice in Florida and I saw that his/her license expired in 2020. Has anyone else had a negative experience with him/her? I'm going to file a complaint against him/her once I find out who his/her supervisor is. Very condescending toward people seeking assistance and seems to hate her/his job! Unprofessional to say the least!

Absolutely the best hospital and staff for veterans. My dad died here recently and was well taken care of and was even given a ceremony by nurses and officers who saluted him. The Chaplin was great as well, if you have parents who are veterans don't hesitate to take them here. They really try to do whatever they can to help or ease the stress on them and you.

Well I took my brother who is a east to west cost, long haul/cross country truck driving/VETERAN MARINE, to get his COVID-19 shot here at the LV VA. Huge mistake! They told him he had to be in the VA system to qualify for the shot. After we filled out the enrollment papers. Enrollment dept. made us wait over an hour. OVER AN HOUR! when there was literally 3 guess waiting ahead of us, and, three enrollment employees working. After they finally took our paperwork, and older gentleman employee kept our paperwork behind closef doors for an additional 30 minutes. I then pulled another number to try to be seen by someone else. Then Ms. Darsie came out to us. She said can I help you. I explained to her that my time is valuable too. She looked at me like I was crazy, when she found out I was upset and that my papers were already in back with one of the three employees. The initial employee much later came and told me, that, yeah Ms. Desrie talked to me but that was all she did. (Sad). Much later, He waltz's back to us and said your brother is not qualified for any VA medical, not even a VA ID CARD, MOTHING at all because he makes to much money. Wow,! I thought... Thank God for the Las Vegas VA hospital!😑. At least my brother did get the COVID Shot which is why we told them were there in first place. Here's the kicker. No one there told us that he could have gotten the shot by just filing a simple form that just takes10 minutes. My brother DIDN'T even NEED TO BE FULLY ENROLLED, For a da*n Covid shot in the first place! My advice... Stay away from Last Vegas North Hospital.

I've been on methadone for years due to injuries through my childhood and on. The VA spotted some latent Tuberculosis that I acquired that I wasn't aware of and called to tell me that they were sending me some Rifampin, what they didn't find out before sending it was it was antagonistic if taken by a methadone patient. I went down after being in full blown detox for three days. Easy enough to say but I don't recommend it because they wouldn't even admit me because of? My clinic would have vouched for me. This is how addict's get hooked again. So sad about what the VA has become. Not everyone's a dope fiend that's on methadone. I'm totally afraid of the VA now. Remember, it was the VA that didn't check for antagonistic effects before sending me the Rifampin.

Always have had great experience with all clinics at this facility, timely, friendly, professional. My only complaint is that there is not enough staff to answer the phones - usually a 30 minute wait time on hold leads to high level of frustration. Sometimes transferred to another office with another long phone wait, ridiculous wait time! Please hire more staff for phone service only!

an excellent healthcare system, they do so much more for their patients (veterans) than the private hospitals do for their patients. VA Healthcare has been my provider for over 25 years. Detroit VA for over 20 years (maybe the best in the country) then Las Vegas VA also top notch.

Healthcare there is getting worse by the year. They have forgotten the meaning of respect and dignity, at least in the primary care and general surgery departments. Accountability for poor performance is nonexistent here despite the laws that are supposed to protect veterans from negligence. All we can do is protect ourselves, so write your representatives in congress and hope they hear our pleas for help.

I trust my healthcare at the VA clinic and hospital, they have always treated me well, sometimes the wait for a appointment might be a little long, but this is one of the busiest hospital's and clinic in the United States, and if there's to much of a wait then they send you to community care, I know there's some negative reviews about the VA, but they have always done a good job with me, that is my opinion, I think it's a great hospital and clinic.

I came to the emergency room two days in a row with my step father and he had many people treat him. Each day everyone was kind, professional, patient and gave him quality care. I am very impressed and very grateful. So happy to see that our heroes are getting treated so well.

One of the most Modern VA phacilities on the US west coast. Consolidates many medical interest in one location. No need for as many clinics in the county.

I went today. It was incredibly noisy with insane people screaming, and I had to wait a long time for service. However, they have wifi and it helped me pass the time.

Overall good healthcare though they’re having problems staffing. System not attractive to healthcare specialists and those in charge at HR are resistant, according to complaints I’ve gathered. Not conducive to a sustainable and adequate medical service. Professionals are working hard to accommodate veterans on daily basis. More pay and maintaining high incentives need to be seriously addressed.
