Unbelievably unprofessional. I had scheduled an appointment for a procedure at LEAST a week in advance. I arrived 10 minutes earlier, just as they asked. I checked in early and waited an additional 20 minutes before I was taken back. Once they escorted me to the “surgical room”, they did the normal blood pressure check then DISAPPEARED for AN HOUR. I left the room to search for anyone, confused as to why no one had come back. I found a nurse who informed me that the doctor was there but they didn’t have a physician in the office to overlook the procedure. They had me RESCHEDULE and didn’t have another availability for OVER A WEEK. They weren’t accommodating, they weren’t the slightest bit apologetic. This is the second day I’ve had to request off due to their irresponsible and unorganized office. Go to a REAL doctors office, don’t waste your time like they’ve wasted mine. UPDATE: Came back for my rescheduled appointment, have been currently sitting in the room. It’s been 45 minutes since I last was checked in on and I’ve just been informed that the doctor is currently not even in this building, he is at a hospital. Believe me when I say this should be considered malpractice AND patient abuse. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!!!!! Pt. 2: 01/24/2022 I have another unfortunate update. I made an appointment for a mental health consultation as I believe I’ve struggled with ADHD my entire life. My first doctor (he) told me they “would have caught it when I was a kid” and instead gave me a practically 10, yes/no answer, questionnaire about depression/anxiety and wrote me an antidepressant prescription without hesitation. I made another appointment for a second opinion and when I voiced my concerns, he said “it requires a lot of tests to be run on you” as if it would be an inconvenience. I agreed to these tests and haven’t heard back in months. I’m fairly sure this “medical professional” chalked me up to some kid trying to score adderall. Meanwhile I’ve been struggling with these symptoms for 24 years, too afraid to ask for help, and when I do, I’m met with nothing but invalidation and condescending doctors. I’m not surprised, UNLV Medicine has been unprofessional since they were off of Fire Mesa. Go somewhere else for your mental health concerns. This place is good for the flu and paper cuts.

I’d like to start this off by saying the medical assistant and woman at the front desk were extremely helpful and very sweet. My only issue is with the doctor I saw, Loc Nguyen. I went to establish care, bring up concerning health issues I’ve been facing for an entire month and talk about upping my mental health meds. It him all but five minutes to mention my weight. Stating “my obesity is likely a cause for some of these issues” I politely told him I was not there to speak about my weight, I am not concerned about my weight. I am concerned about a different medical issue. He apologized which I appreciate but then he continuously brought it up again throughout the appointment. I am a perfectly healthy person, my cholesterol and my A1C are in great healthy range, I have hereditary conditions that he perhaps mistook as issues related to weight. They aren’t, they’re genetic. At the end of the appointment he showed me his after care notes that said “obese from excessive calorie intake.” Now if this man would of had an actual conversation with me about my body he’d know I’ve been struggling with an eating disorder since I was a teenager. He’d know I’ve been too sick to eat more than one meal a day for the past month. He’d know I’ve dropped 30 pounds since February but he never asked. It was easier for him to just dismiss me as a fat person. Which is absolutely disgusting and I will be finding another PCP, my only suggestion is that UNLV family medicine perhaps teaches their staff to get more history on a patient before looking at their body mass index and writing them off. I’m thoroughly disappointed.

This clinic has horrible receptionists and medical assistants. Messages sent to doctors aren't delivered, the receptionists seem inconvenienced by any request you ask for without looking up info that they should have or look up themselves to properly assist you. But that's my experience. Have your own. I wouldn't recommend this clinic to a cadaver or to an enemy. The doctors don't seem bad, but Idk for sure. They may be part of the problem too 🤷🏽

I have been a patient here for several years and have received good care until today. I went in to get my blood pressure medication revised because my blood pressure has been quite high lately. The medical assistant took my BP over my shirt and didn’t tighten the cuff very much. I was told the reading wasn’t high at all - 117/78. I knew better and disputed the reading. I was not believed and was told my at-home BP monitor must be inaccurate. After tears and anger on my part, the doctor came in and took my BP again in the correct manner that I insisted on - bare arm & tighter cuff. The reading was more accurate this time - 162/91 - and in need of stronger medication. Had I trusted the first inaccurate reading and their insistence that it was correct, my health could have been in jeopardy. My trust in this facility is much lower now.

Apparently the doctors here can't bother to send your prescription to the pharmacy when you ask them to at your appointment or bother to check if the place they send your labs to for blood work takes your insurance. Won't be going back since this place can't even seem to get the easy stuff down.

WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS!!! RUN, DON'T WALK!!! Run -- don't walk -- away from this substandard Primary Care Provider that has steadily worsened to become a downtown welfare Medicaid clinic. My most recent (and final) horrible experience: I had a serious infection, with pain and inflammation bad enough to interfere with sleep. It took 13 days to get an appointment!! They decided my infection was too serious for them, and referred me to a specialist. But they mis-classified the referral as "Routine" not "Urgent" so the specialist gave me an appointment 8 MONTHS AWAY!!! I spent hours bouncing around between their referral desk, my insurance company and my insurance agent before I finally got an appointment, elsewhere, by which point I'd been sick 2 months already!! I am finally having a surgery to remove the remnants of the infection, 2-1/2 months after I first sought care. I'm leaving UNLV Family Medicine after over 10 years as a patient. CARE DELAYED = CARE DENIED!!! If you have a choice of primary care, DON'T GO HERE!!!

Have been calling for 2 days to get a referral that should have been provided to me when I went to the primary doctors visit. Was given a number with paper instructions that werent even correct, in order to call about referrals since they are too slow process a referral same day which is pretty sad considering it is 2023 and no other providers take more than one day to finalize a referral. Stephanie answered the line and got attitude with me when she did not understand the question I asked and made a snarky remark when I asked why I was not properly instructed at the UNLV office. Instead of apologizing about the experience and trying to quell my issues, she became condescending and blamed me for the response from UNLV staff. She needs to work on her customer service skills and her patience. Audit more of her calls. Absolutely unprofessional, and a waste of my time.

I was born and raised in this city and I've never experienced service like this. Dont get me wrong, the guest service is great in person. Thats where it ends. You can barely get a hold of someone on the phone. If you care about your health go somewhere else. I was seen for a chronic disorder which was prescribed medication. However this doctors office has no clue on how to send out medication. It's been a week and my pharmacy still hasn't received my prescription, even after I talked to the doctors office to let them know, TWICE. These people don't give two cents about you or your health. Do not go here! UMC ER is more efficient.

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR LIFE AND HEALTH. The office staff were always pretty good, I went for general family medicine. Almost every time I change doctors and have to tell them over and over again what is wrong even though its in the notes. The last time I went, which is the last time I plan to step foot in the building, 2 male drs. refused to what a female dr. had set in place for me. X-rays, if those were good then move to mri's. They didn't even have my xrays and had to request them after calling and saying they received them. I was told all of my pain was due to my weight even though when I was 50 lbs lighter I had the same issues. Told them I can't get up more than 2 flights of stairs without my knee and leg hurting so bad I have to sit down... but ya know thats my weight and not something that is making my knee swell to 2 times its size. He told me "well yeah its going to kinda hurt after you use it (knee) all day.. " no this is after I wake up in the morning and go down to make coffee. My comments were ignored. I also went in for massive back pain from an injury and some major head pain/dizziness/vomiting/etc and was told to take ibuprofen after telling them over and over I can't take Ibuprofen. Just went in to get MRI ordered and move on to figure out what the hell is wrong. Nope, gotta lose weight and drink water. OH! DON'T FORGET THE COVID VACCINE THEY KEPT TALKING ABOUT! My back is constantly in pain "ok well, are you vaccinated?" Takes a deep breath and back spasms, the pain is right there! "well the vaccine is really recommended"... when I ask about the pain they change topics back to what they won't do and the vaccine. LONG STORY SHORT. Find someone else. I did and my new Dr. already identified that my knee pain is from a slightly torn meniscus and tendon damage that may require repair surgery. I have a brain scan coming up, as my symptoms point towards tumors and warning signs of strokes. My back, got an MRI for that coming up, the running theory is a torn muscle.

Doctors here do not care about your health. I wanted a specific test to be order , and he says you don’t need it to young and healthy , also referrals to a specialist do not give . I will be changing PCP as soon as possible . Do not recommend this clinic .

I’ve been to many places and have seen many doctors from at least three different states. I have to tell you Dr Weismiller is one of the nicest doctors I have ever had the pleasure to talk to. He spends time to talk to you and answer questions, although, concise, but very thorough. The real Gem is the office manager, Mahasin. She goes above and beyond the call-of-duty for her patients. I needed a document signed and faxed a while ago and just recently called from quest needing lab orders. Every time She stopped what she was doing to make sure I was taken care of. So rare in the medical field, especially in times like these with COVID-19. Thank you for being amazing. I highly recommend this office for anybody looking for a primary care physician.

Would prefer to leave none as these people are the most incompetent and unresponsive medical professionals I have ever had the terrible luck of using as our family doctor. Four months I waited for a referral after I fell and lost hearing in my left ear - it’s still not coming. My husband had knee replacement and couldn’t get a referral for physical therapy without the surgeon calling our family doctor at UNLV. I e never seen my primary doctor in almost three years, it’s always a student. We kept hoping things would get better. Silly us. We’ve now changed doctors, thank God, and have a doctor who not only listens he also is there to take care of our issues. I wouldn’t recommend UNLV to anyone and that’s such a shame because it’s a training facility and you realize that they are turning out doctors the same way they run, care and listen to the patients that we’ve seen. Which is they don’t run, care or listen. It’s terrible to think that your doctor, whom you rely on, is as incompetent as what we’ve experienced.

I'm only giving a 1 star for my recent experience with what sounded like a medical student. I had a telehealth appointment scheduled for early August, and during this call, I was unfortunately sitting in a hospital in California visiting my dad. First, I waited almost an hour just for me to hang up and call them to see if they forgot about me. When the young man did call me about my biopsy results, he was EXTREMELY rude. My results were benign, but when I did have questions, it was like I just asked for his firstborn child. He then said to me, "You should be lucky that your biopsy results are benign and you dont have cancer." At this point, I just decided to end the call. I've been a patient here for many years. My normal Dr is Dr Shaw, who is AMAZING! But since the pandemic, I haven't been able to see her because she gets booked up super quickly. I totally understand this is a teaching facility, but this is the 2nd student Dr I've had that is extremely rude and probably shouldn't be a Dr.

I have lived in Las Vegas for mite than 14 years and have been blown away by these Doctors. The level of care and the compassion they have displayed has thoroughly rejuvenated my thoughts on Healthcare in Las Vegas. I don't see hiw the last reviews were from the same Office. They git out of their way, the Doctor calls me at home to check up on hiw I was doing. Amd even though it's a "teaching hosoital" feel totally taken care if and don't want to go anywhere else. It's not just the Doctor (Intern seeing me) you are getting input from all of the Doctors that are training them and I and my husband really felt luke they cared about me and him..and something I've never felt here with any Doctor. Ever. So .. do yourself a favor . And meet these Doctors so you have a comparsuin to se3...it will blow tour mind. These Doctors are just getting their speciality so they have a hunger and excitement about everything they're doung and it truly shows they care. That alone is priceless...priceless. remember that. I guarantee you haven't had this experience ever...

I've read Alot of reviews that say the doctors are the main reason for dissatisfaction. I actually have the opposite experience. Maybe I've been lucky. But in the almost 3 years I've been going here, the doctors have actually been fantastic. My problem is with staff/administration. Most recent example, I seen Dr. Phan on Nov. 23 this year. She put in a referral for a physical therapist. Hadn't heard anything. So in the month between than & now I've called the main number 3 times to see what going on. It's the same old thing "well get a hold of the referral dept and leave a message to contact you. And I hear nothing. So today (Dec 28 2022) I had another appt with the doctor, so I brought the referral issue up. She put the referral in again, along with giving me the direct line to the referral dept and said to call them and if they don't pick up to call the main number. So I call the referral direct number multiple time. It immediately gives me a busy signal and hangs up after about 3-5 seconds. So I call the main number and use the option for the referral dept, where I'm on hold for almost 20 mins. So I think OK I'll leave a message with the "scheduling" dept, but also think why, I did that in that past, only to get told we'll send a message to the referral dept, only to never hear anything. Again I'm gonna make clear I think the doctors have been great (atleast the ones I've been seeing) but there is a serious issue in the communications and performance of the staff/administration............... OK after writing the initial review I did contact the email provided in the reply to my review. The young lady that was tasked with finding out why I wrote a poor review immediately got on the issue. Between emailing her or on the phone with her, another gal was informed of the situation (foegive me if I can't recall what either of their positions were) but they got right on figuring out what the hold up was with the referral. Within a matter of a few days the issue was taken care of. These 2 gals were very professional & I felt they understood my frustrations. Should it have gotten to the point that it took writting a disapproving review to get results. That's for each person to decide. I'm not trying to be harsh on anything. Just explaining what it took to get a referral to go through. I do appreciate and thank Christine & Mahasin for getting right on things once they were aware of the situation. They truly seemed to care and show the same frustration in the time frame it took to to get a referral sent to a physical therapist and that it had to come down to getting them involved to do it. Again, this seems to be some sort of breakdown in the inner office communications when you have corporate personal step in. But once they were aware of the issue, they did get it solved promptly and immediately. Shout out to Mahasin, this lovely lady stayed on top of things, called regularly to see if the referrals got sent to the right physical therapist. Stayed in constant communications with myself and the proper people to make sure things got done right. Went as far as calling the physical therapist to to make sure they got the referral. I'm not good with words. Bear with me please. Since my initial review, the staff has gotten better. I have never said anything negative about the doctors I have had the pleasure to see. UNLV does seem to produce some great doctors. They're empathetic, caring & competent in not only their training, but their personalities. I do wish these doctors the very best in their future endeavors when they graduate. They're a reflection on not just their schooling, but also on the supervising doctor. I know I made a long review & drag it out. Thank you, anyone that read this far. It's so easy to criticize people & companies. It's harder to show respect & acknowledgment to the ones that excel in their profession. To make a very long story short. If you need a primary care doctor. I urge you to use UNLV primary care.

Absolutely horrible, it is impossible to get an appointment, you are usually left on hold for HOURS. Do not try the "call back" option because you will never get a call back. They will find every which way to bill your insurance and require you to make multiple appointments for work that could've been done in one appointment because all they want is your $$$. Medical care in Nevada is terrible, but this place is one of the worst.

Everytime we come here they keep us waiting over an hour. If their greedy dr.s would schedule less appts. they would not have this problem. But their dr.s are so stuck up they don't care how they inconvenience others.

What a scam. You are lead to believe that the office visit is affordable. Just over $100. Then they send you a bill for more than a specialist costs. I didn't get labs or procedures done either .

I share similar issues as other people have have mentioned here in the reviews. Everything takes forever with these people. You go to them because you have back pain, and they can refer you to a specialist you takes your insurance, but it takes them months to get you scheduled with a specialist, if they ever do. When you call them back and ask them what happened to me going to the specialist, they'll tell you you have to make another appointment with unlv to get your specialist referral. So I ended up going to them 3 or 4 times about my back and they never got me to see a specialist still to this day. They take months to schedule you up with a specialist. They change my pharmacy every time I visit, and I have to remind them which pharmacy I use. All of their issues seems to be in the computer system. It takes forever to do anything with these people.

A few of their staff are incompetent, ignorant, disrespectful, and shows no empathy for their patients. Contacting them by phone is nearly impossible, and when you finally get someone on the phone don't bother asking them any questions because by the end of your phone call you will be frustrated and still did not get any answers. No one knows anything, you literally have to talk to multiple people for one task. We were there way before closing time and was waiting on documents that we requested which they had contacted us stating that is was ready for pick up. It is not our fault that they did not have all of our documents ready for us as requested. One of the staff walked up to us with the last document we were waiting on as if she wanted to fight and was rude telling us that they are closed. We have every right to request for any documentation, especially if you paid for it! Where do they find these individuals, from the Cracker Jack box?! Don't get me started on some of the Doctors there.

Absolutely ridiculous. They do not even try to help. I have been asking and calling for weeks to get a pre authorization so I can get my much needed medication. They swear they will do it over and over and now I’ve just taken my last pill and the still haven’t done it. With out the pre authorization the medication is $250 I have been begging and begging for help. DO NOT GO HERE THEY DONT HELP.
