As
a
traveler
from
out
of
state,
I
debated
long
and
hard
about
going
to
the
ER.
I
knew
what
the
problem
was
-
my
gall
bladder
-
because
I
had
an
attack
2
days
prior
to
this
ER
visit.
What
happened
for
the
next
almost
7
hours
was
unbelievable.
I
got
in
relatively
quickly
and
told
the
PA
my
medical
history,
including
being
in
treatment
for
terminal
cancer.
I
explained
my
symptoms,
told
him
I'd
had
gall
bladder
attacks
before
and
this
was
just
like
those.
Then
came
a
long
list
of
tests,
each
time
being
taken
back
to
the
waiting
room
for
a
long
wait
for
results
before
the
next
test
was
done.
After
putting
in
access
for
IV,
there
was
an
echocardiogram,
chest
x-ray,
urine
test,
CT
scan
without
contrast,
ultrasound,
CT
scan
with
contrast
to
check
for
a
pulmonary
embolism.
I
told
them
I've
been
on
blood
thinner
for
a
year
and
COULDN'T
have
a
blood
clot.
At
one
point
the
nurse
came
out
and
injected
something
into
the
IV
because
they
said
I
had
a
kidney
infection.
They
didn't
ask
me,
or
explain
it.
I
have
no
idea
what
that
medication
was.
I
was
so
tired
and
by
myself
because
"no
visitors".
I
don't
have
a
kidney
infection.
I
have
a
gall
bladder
problem.
But
they
didn't
believe
me
and
subjected
me
to
many
unneeded
tests
that
kept
me
sitting
in
the
waiting
room
for
about
7
hours.
While
waiting
for
the
last
test
result,
I
asked
the
lady
at
the
desk
if
she
would
just
discharge
me
because
I
was
SO
TIRED,
but
the
nurse
said
"That
would
be
"against
medical
advice",
and
so
I
waited
longer.
I
never
saw
a
doctor,
just
the
physician
assistant
at
the
beginning
of
the
ordeal.
There
wasn't
a
room
to
go
to,
just
the
waiting
room
which
was
a
cesspool
of
people
not
wearing
masks
properly,
people
vomiting,
a
couple
people
coming
in
various
states
of
dress,
sitting
on
the
seat
with
nothing
but
bare
skin.
When
housekeeping
came
through,
there
was
no
sanitizing
-
just
picking
trash
up
off
the
floor.
I
was
left
speechless
and
very
disappointed.
There's
no
question
about
whether
or
not
I
would
go
back
to
this
hospital
because
I
don't
live
here.
Whether
or
not
you
should
go
there?
No
way.
