Officially no longer ordering from this location. The other reviews are making more sense. Took forever and you pay extra for fire grilled chicken, but finding the chicken is worse than a Where's Waldo book. No lime, no sour cream, no Pico. Smh This is the second time they messed up the order. Fool me once... Too many other options to be doing this at this price.

Food, absolutely delicious! The service could be better. The cooks set up my salad and answered any questions and recommend a few items. The cashier wasn’t too friendly. I asked if the mint lemonade is still being served and her replied “over there” but with attitude. I also said “have a good day” she just looked down at her register.

Dine in just after the lunch rush at 1:30pm. They were put of rice but started to make more. Tip, don't get rice immediately after it is cooked, it was still slightly undercooked and crunchy but everything else was delicious.

Cafe Rio... probably one of the best Mexican fast food chains around. They make their tortillas fresh... the food is always hot, fresh & tasty! They don't have a drive-thru likely by design... so plan to go in and most likely stand in a bit of a line. They get it moving fast though! The food is always good at this location! The service is also okay... but when they are busy expect to be rushed through... you better know what you want & answer them quickly. Now, by no means is this overly authentic in my opinion... and the flavour profile is kept pretty mild so everyone can handle it... but all in all... a good quick place to grab a meal! Don't take my word for it... go give it a shot!

Nothing Mexican about this Cafe Rio Grill. The food was all but thrown together. Grill and prep are needed some love... ok, maybe dirty looking are the right words. I ate in but the food was served to us in to go containers... maybe that's how they do it, if so, it wasn't classy. Had to get my own receipt... cashier left before completing the transaction and never returned. Huge water spill on the floor in front of the soda fountain and bathroom door that's being ignored. Several employees got drinks from it while we were there, didn't seem bothered. Just disappointing when a "reputable" establishment is poorly run. Hey, they were nice, though. Hope your experience is better. Good luck!

For the past 5 years the food has been delicious. So what has changed to warrant this 1 stat review? Yesterday I walked in and got charged for extra hot sauce on my burrito. I have ordered this meal 100 times before and never got charged $1 for extra hot sauce. I get it enchilada style and they already charge extra for that. So I asked why and the manager mocked me and pulled out a $1 bill from her pocket and offered to pay it as if I was homeless. The entire crew was loving the rude professionalism from this manager. Cafe Rio please contact me I would like this investigated.

Ordered a salad and the employee made a face when I told him that I only wanted lettuce, cheese and chicken. He put a tortilla in the bottom of the aluminum dish and made another face when I told him that I didn't want it. It seems that all of the employees are just trained not to listen to the customer. Again after I initially told him that I only wanted lettuce cheese and chicken he tried to give me double rice ( again not listening to the customer). Then he put some kind of dressing on and when I said that I didn't want dressing and has to remake it he walked away from the serving line. I realize that getting help these days is difficult but employees need to be trained to LISTEN to the customer. I walked out without the salad and won't be back. This has happened at other Cafe Rio locations also.

Not worth the money you pay. Salad was mostly lettuce sprinkle of cotija cheese guacamole was brown not that you notice it's there the scoop is so small only thing that was a decent portion was the meat, rice and beans if you like that on a salad they charge more for extra salad dressing and sour cream which is ok if sour cream was not the size of a table spoon Overall I was not satisfied paying 30 bucks for two salads and one large drink 😕

My major complaint with the Cafe Rio located on Decatur, is that every single time, and I absolutely mean every single time we go there, they're out of something. You would think they would plan better as a restaurant and have an ample supply of food so that this doesn't happen. Do you really expect to walk into a restaurant/fast food place like this and for them to be out of lettuce, or cheese, or salsa. These are main ingredients for Mexican food and it is absolutely ridiculous that they run out of the ingredients that they need to make what people want. And the employees act like they don't even care. Their manager needs to plan better on having the supply of food that they need so that they don't run out. The only good thing I have to say is that when they do have all the ingredients for what you want, and they give you the amount of food you should get for the price that they charge, the food is good.

I ordered a salad and was extremely disappointed in the portions. I just had beans and rice no meat on my salad, and it was such a thin layer of both that I could see the tortilla through the food. I continued to eat it not knowing there was guacamole on the other side of the dish. I wasn't sure what it was at first, I thought it was a dark salsa. I took a bite and realized it was guacamole, but it tasted sour and rancid, and it was not green at all. At that point I was irritated and went up and asked for a refund. The lady that assisted me was going to give me a refund for only the guac, as frustrated as I was I asked for a refund on the meal, since I had eaten a portion of the meal already, she gave me 50% of the cost back. I will never go back to this place. Customer service, starting from the moment I was ordering my food was just horrible. I used to frequent this place years ago, it has truly gone down hill.

The food was excellent. The service could not have been better. the restaurant and restrooms are clean and supplied with the necessaries. Only 4 stars for atmosphere because music was WAY TO LOUD.

Service was super slow nobody seemed to know what they were doing. Everyone was doing their own thing. One employee was making their own creation on the tortilla skillet while the cashier kept going to the back to talk to cooks and hang out. The skillet was dirty as could possibly be as if no one had cleaned it all day.. worst experience at a Cafe Rio ever

Service was extremely slow but there were at least 10 people working behind the counter. Chicken was cooked and sitting on the grill waiting to be cut up. Instead of cutting some real quick, the girl scraped the bottom of the pan to add scraps of what was left for the two salads I ordered. Girl with extremely long fingernails could barely grab a lid from the stack. Nails like that are unsanitary for a food establishment. They had to run my card 3 times because their machine wasn’t working properly which was concerning. The food was luke warm and just ok. Disappointing for Cafe Rio. I wish my experience had been better here because I just moved back after 6 years away and this location is closest. Management, get your employees some training and team building ASAP.

Food made and served are good. I just noticed that the server making the food on the counter is stingy when giving lettuce. I have to ask twice to put more. Aside from that, there's nothing more to complain about. Everything is good.

I’ll never be returning to this location. Your employees are lazy and don’t care about the customers. Not sure why they’re there. There was no one else in line but me. I ordered my food with a young man, he put the meat on my tortilla and passed my food dow the line and just stood there. There was no one else in line behind me. A blonde girl was working the next section but she was busy packing up pick up orders and asked the employee Wesley to finish my order as he was just standing there staring at the empty dining room. He acted like he didn’t hear her, turned around and started pretending to wipe down a counter. She continued with the pick up orders and I sat there just waiting and waiting and waiting as Wesley did nothing. She turned around realizing he wasn’t doing what she asked and said, “Really?”. And instead of either of them helping me they just stood there staring at each other until she walked away and he still did nothing. I sat there waiting with no one helping me until I said “OKAY FORGET IT!” and walked out. The customer service here is really lacking. You lost out on a sale because your staff can’t act professionally and take care of the customer like they’re there to do. Since taking care of me was sooooo hard to do, I’ll take my money elsewhere. This is so disappointing as I’ve been coming here since this location opened. Never again.

One of the better Cafe Rio's out there. Great service and as always amazing food. Consistency in product from location to location is a mixed bag but this location has been consistent with size and freshness. I have never been disappointed going here!

Ordered online, got to the store, and they hadn't started making my food. Employees were too busy talking/flirting and cracking jokes. Waited the 10min it took them to make the food, and then wasn't given my drink. Maybe if they were working instead of playing around, they would have read the receipt and done their job. After asking for the drink, I went home, and I noticed that the rice and extra beans that I ordered as part of my "Entree" were missing, and the tacos were cold. I live across the street, so it wasn't the distance. Half of my food missing! Cold Tacos! Stale chips! and you gotta ask for items you paid for and are clearly on the receipt!! Incompetent is an understatement. Never again.

Honestly this location is sloppy, stations are dirty, tortilla soup always cold, general quality is bad. The one in centennial is better by far. Most things on this side of Decatur are bad, definitely just travel a little further for anything, it'll be worth it.

Worst location and food ever. Food was old, dry and disgusting. I was charged 24 bucks for two old shrimp tacos one scoop of beans, chips, and extra small salsa. Oh and a small drink. The girl who served the food was rude as hell and had an attitude. Do not go to this location.

  • 1/5 Todd H. 1 year ago on Google
Good to see they are busy, that’s fine. But, after waiting in line tonight, get to the front to find out they are out of several items (only 2 meat options) including ALL desserts. Very disappointing ! And clearly mismanaged. If you are out of several items, post it on the menu boards so I don’t wait in line for nothing.

Food is great! Service very, very slow! Good thing is they do have a patio so you can bring your dogs (but sooo hot and no umbrellas or cooling/ misting system in place).

There is never no meat I've been to this location multiple times to give them another chance and it never fails their never no meat or you have to wait about 20-30 mins or longer to where I just end up leaving. I see quite alot of people walking out saying they don't have items available. That a lot of paying customs who walk away. Some of the staff looks very over worked as well.

Love Cafe Rio! I always order a shredded chicken bowl with extra scoops of pico and cilantro. Never disappoints!

Believe all the bad reviews of this location. They opened late, and when they finally let us go inside, I was told they were out of all grilled meats. I went there specifically for the barbacoa enchiladas, so I left. Will not be back and do not recommend.

So far never a bad experience. The food is great, the ingredients seem quality, and the price is reasonable for the size. We recently tried the green cilantro/avocado sauce and it's like nothing I've had before, really good.

We were very disappointed in the chicken enchiladas. The tortillas were burned, there was no enchilada sauce, and the chicken was very dry. Considering how excellent the burritos were, it made no sense why the enchiladas were such a turnoff. A refund would be greatly appreciated. Jason R.

We usually love this place, but this experience was not great. We ordered curbside & checked in, but ended up having to go in anyway. We ordered the beef burrito, enchilada style with mild sauce, Pico, sour cream, & guac. We got everything we ordered, but our burritos were swimming in some liquid I've never had from there before. Still good, just not delicious

Food is always pretty decent which is why I keep coming back but service is always so awful. I don’t understand how it takes so long every time to take the order make the food and check out. If there’s even 3 people ahead of you except to wait 15 minutes 🙃🙃🙃

Such a poor experience at the Las Vegas- Durango & Shadow Mtn Parkway store!!! I could not have a steak salad because I was given the last of it on my quesadilla. They were also out of limes, cheddar cheese & cotija cheese. I asked if I could wait while they gathered more steak & I was told no, they were out. I called their customer service dept. & spoke ro Connie at corporate & her answer was- she did not know about their orders or demographic model...I received an apology from her after I asked for one. She really was not helpful or too friendly. There was no offer of making things better, or any type of compensation of making it better for another visit. Her answer was since I substituted chicken for steak etc..that she could not do anything for me. She said she will inform upper management of my dissatisfaction. I was transparent enough to inform her, that her answer was not satisfactory, so I would post a review. What a shame...since I dine at Cafe Rio at least once a week. :-(

I make it a point to eat here at least once a week. The Barbacoa burrito made enchilada style is so delicious. Hence the reason for coming here at least once a week.

The food was good service was slow. The restaurant was filthy dust and cobwebs visible over tortilla cooking surface. Used lying all over the prep area.

We have been going to this location for many years because it was super fresh tasting and our family loved it . We have all had horrible experiences lately. The chicken has been so tough it will choke you .. the dressing has been so spicy it takes all your taste buds away ..a few times the lettuce was super watery and ruined the whole dish . It's just been awful sadly because we just want it back like before . I hope the owners see this and fix the issues!

Me and my mother stop by and get in a busy line at this location . A nice family started a conversation with me and my mother and stood in line with us to wait to order. When we order the Caucasian abrasive man ask my mom what for her order, then he asked me I couldn’t really hear him so he blared at me in front of the line very rudely. He begin to use micro-aggression to provoke me and my mother who was quite witnessing the awful interaction moving coward to build on top of protein LEA! Was amazing and made up for the rude (IHATE MY JOB ENERGY THE FIRST EMPLOYEE PRESENTED.) LEA YOU NEED TO BE PROMOTED LEADING WITH KINDNESS IS HOW YOU GET THROUGH A SHIFT AND BEING WILLING. She set the tone and I am here for it very professional and know her job! My mom was pleased after talking with Lea thank you the girl that cash us out was not angry but she was definitely yelling to loud in a tone of condescending. It’s sad do better I wanted to give a 5 for Lea being the only employee who chose to be professional.

This location used to be fantastic! Since covid it's been terrible. Ordered online for pickup. Arrived at posted time. they hadn't started the order, then I watched half of my order sit there for 15 min more while they complete the balance of the order. 30 minutes past my pick time.

  • 2/5 Miki S. 1 year ago on Google
It's been a long time since I visited there. When we get there, there's tons of trash on the floor welcomed us. No welcome greeting whatsoever, never had it before anyway, and at the counter to order... a lot of stuff we're "OUT" they didn't have it. So we have to rethink our order there and we gave people waiting after us. If we knew they are OUT we could select something else while we were waiting in line. Not practical. And there's no customer service. Food was ok but small and less than before. No flavor and messy. We weren't very happy there so we left before finishing our orders... there's a lot of area to see improvement and get better. But if they think that "It is what it is" ... then that's it, I guess.

  • 1/5 Jessica L. 1 year ago on Google
Despite asking for the pico on the side of my quesadilla, they put the pico right on top. That turned into a soggy, unpleasant quesadilla. The salad I order didn’t have any cheese on the bottom. They also didn’t add guacamole to either of the entrees I purchased. Not a great experience at this location.

Food is good when they manage to get your order right but that's only about half the time. 4 times we have ordered from there and got the wrong food, what a pain. And no refund unless I drive back 15min out of my way. Never again will order from this location
