My first time at this gym and I absolutely love the settings. I’ve been climbing for 1.5 years and noticed some of the VB-V3 climbs are sandbagged. Not sure how beginners can even climb some of the easier sets! The gym has a training area and it’s so well used. A lot of climbers here don’t slack on training and you can tell because there were a lot of strong climbers on a schedule or had their training apps on! I personally enjoyed the treadwall because I don’t have this back at my home gym. I also appreciate the tension and moonboard and the different varieties of climb, especially the slab wall. Not sure if I would recommend this gym for beginners but if you’re more on the experienced side, I think you’ll appreciate the sets here.

Cool little place! If you love bouldering this is the spot!. Cool technical boulders plenty to choose from. If you like auto belays not the place to be only 3 auto belays here. Despite that friendly staff chill atmosphere. This is a comparison to Stone Age gym in Albuquerque NM.

Visited while out of town on a work trip and highly recommend to anyone needing a refuge from the hustle and bustle and climb. Very short Uber ride from the strip and very fair price (around $18) for visitor. I brought shoes but rented a chalk bag (was about a dollar to rent). Easy/fast check in, incredible person at the front desk who also gave a quick tour of the facility. Has everything from bouldering, auto belay, and “workout sector”. People were very kind and let you do your thing and were talkative if you felt like chatting. Will definitely visit whenever I’m in town.

This climbing gym has everything. From a treadmill rock wall, to weights & Olympic Rings, to a huge variety of bouldering paths from V0-V10+ … best in town

I liked it more then The Pad. Nice atmosphere and setting seemed accurate. It’s not a mega gym but plenty to keep you busy. The bouldering pads seem stiff compared to my local gym in Atlanta. I was worried about take and unexpected fall. Overall enjoyed it and will definitely go back when in Vegas.

So awesome! Been wanting to go forever. Took the 6 year old with a buddy who's a regular and had a blast. Great gym, huge space, walls and difficulty for everyone. Great setup. Far from home but worth it! Will be back

Large gym with tall walls. Tough grading should be kept in mind. The free weight gym space is also large and nice enough but pretty bare bones. Close proximity to the strip is what brought me here. Likely would've gone. Does have 3 auto belay sets but they're not too much taller than the rest of the walls.

A great place to hangout" with friends and kill a few hours/work out. My first climbing gym, good vibes, feels like home. Easy to approach other members and get help.

Cool routes but the community did not feel friendly at all compared to other climbing gyms I've been too. The landing pads are super stiff which isn't great for their top out boulders being as high as they are.. 15ft Also, and I will say I'm newer to the sport but the grading seems a bit pretentious.. a v1 that's overhang with crimps?? I don't mind a challenge or an ego check- my goal is personal improvement rather than be pro or hit a certain 'grade' but I feel like they make their grades hard compared to other gyms and even local outdoor climbs. I made a joking comment to someone and their response was "it's a REFUGE V2- keeps the posers out" they meant it as a joke but it didn't quite land .. overall cool place but felt a bit pretentious compared to past experiences with other climbing gyms. I'll keep my membership at other gyms but probably stop by every once in awhile for a challenge if when I feel like hitting some new problems.

I work at a climbing gym out of state, and we all trade day passes as a professional courtesy with other gym employees. Staff was super rude, giving dirty looks. Setting was awful. Too many traverses, and odd mid route dynos on 15ft walls. Grades only went up to v9. Workout area mats were filthy.

I’m visiting from Washington state and the gym is amazing! The routes are perfectly graded, the staff are extremely personable and professional and the climbers are super friendly! Stay awesome! Thanks for everything!

I’ve been going to this gym for about 2 years now. I love they add new routes every week and the competitions they hold. Throughout time, they’ve even gotten more workout equipment and are constantly improving their business

Best bouldering gym in Nevada, community is really cool, good place to meet climbers to go out and climb outside. Facility is open and ventilated, setting is pretty sick!

Truly outstanding route setting, excellent access to training equipment, very friendly staff and overall great vibes here. Don't miss Refuge if you are passing through Vegas or you just moved here.

This is the best bouldering gym in Las Vegas. These people changed my life and everyone included here makes a difference in the community. Great setters and great people.

This is where I was introduced to climbing by a couple of friends and it's such a great place. Definitely focused on bouldering but it's still really fun for anyone. I've heard others say they grade harder than normal, but I don't think it really matters. Climbing here is super fun and they have great routes, each one (above VB) being quite unique. The staff are nice and it's been fun to work through problems with other climbers who are super friendly and open. I easily spend over 2-3+ hours each session here

Great bouldering gym, fun problems, and excellent atmosphere. This is our “go to” for climbing indoors when we visit Las Vegas.

Wide space with many varied walls, dedicated to bouldering. Crags are routinely reset. The space is open, clean, and well-lit. Problems are coded by hold color. I've found that they grade their problems a bit tougher compared to R2C2 (e.g. a V3 here is tougher for me than a V3 at R2C2). The staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. It feels like there's a good community here; I'm a novice climber, but this place has felt casual and not too intimidating. They have a Moonboard and Treadwall-style climbing treadmill.

The best climbing gym in Las Vegas without a doubt. Visiting from out of town? Rained out at Red Rock? Do yourself a favor and pick Refuge for your session. Best setting in town by a wide margin. Local climber owned and operated. I've climbed extensively at every gym in town and Refuge is head and shoulders better than the other three options.

I am a beginner climber. This place had plenty of areas for rock climbing at the most basic levels to keep me busy for an hour, at least. Some of the tools they had would probably be really appreciated by higher level climbers. Entry was reasonable and it included a rundown of how to identify the climbing paths, plus a few pointers. The membership seemed reasonable if you might be one that climbs at least a couple times a week. Bring your own chalk.
