Valley of fire State Park! Wow I can't even begin to describe the beauty of this place. Here is just a few pics of it. First of all it is the most peaceful and quiet place. It looks like it's not even real at all. The weather was just perfect and sunny. I would advise you to wear enclosed shoes and have some water on you if you decide to hike around. There are wildlife out here like snakes etc so be careful of the holes in the ground. Also make sure you have enough gas in the tank Because it's a long way to a gas station and cell service might not be the best out there.

A perfect place to visit during sunrise or sunset. You could hike easy/tough or do it from your car, just drive around. If you want to to get away from the craziness of Vegas, this is the place.. pretty close to Vegas. The trails are fairly short, not strenuous. All the highlighted rock formations had plenty of parking in the designated areas and there were turnouts along the road as well. Beautiful scenery and good walking trails. Most of the rock formations are close to the roads so you do not have to walk far. Early morning is good, summer days are tough.

You have to experience a sunrise or sunset here to truly understand why they call it VALLEY OF FIRE. I’ve traveled the world, and can say with certainty- it’s one of the most beautiful desert experiences out there. That being said IT’S HOT- especially during the summer. As always, it’s important to remember to pack, dress and hydrate appropriately to ensure a great experience. Wearing shoes with thicker padding will help you traverse the shifting sand ground that lines the valley. Driving the loop is an experience in itself- but true happiness comes from taking a few moments to explore what’s behind some of the massive rock formations. Don’t leave without driving the scenic route around and beyond the visitor center. A mile or two up a steep incline drive, you’ll be welcomed by one of the most expansive and mesmerizing desert scenes that the west has to offer. If you’re a nature lover- bring a small pair of binoculars with you. Wildlife is abundant, and you’re guaranteed to see something interesting if you take a moment to search for it. Cheers, and Safe travels!! (Don’t forget to follow for more travel, dining and cultural immersion suggestions and reviews)✌🏽

The whole experience here is absolutely breath taking. I felt as thought I was in Mars and I loved it. No matter how much time you have to spend here you will have a good time. It's very cheap to get it, if no one is at booth, they have a honesty system where you put your money into an envelope. I would suggest going straight to the visitor center first. See the interesting displays of the information of native Americans who were on this land. You can also speak to a worker who can provide you with a free map and answer any questions you may have about where to go and what to see if you have limited time. Park is very clean and bathrooms at most stops

This place was amazing. My recommendation is to come early. The park is huge and you won’t want to rush the experience, you could be there all day and still not see it all. Overnight camping is permitted and there are plenty of day use areas perfect for a day long getaway! Make sure to look for Sheep as they are all over the park. Located only a short drive from Vegas, this is a must see!

Absolutely beautiful, paradise for a photographer. I would recommend going as early as possible to catch the sunrise, there are some spots that are just awesome. The hikes are not crazy difficult, so you can do them with the gear. My must visit spots are the mouse tank road (right before rainbow vista), fire wave hike and just drive all the way down in mouse tank road, totally worth it. We went during end of September and at 8am the sun was high enough that we felt it was 2 pm, so carry water.

Beautiful, breathtaking and worth seeing! Rent a car if you can. It’s better than buying tours because you control how long you spend there and where to take pictures. We got to see the mountain goats in their glory walking up and the down the mountains. Pictures don’t do this place justice, you have to see it to believe it. The weather at the different altitude was amazing too.

This is one of my favorite parks in NV. This place is very unique, gorgeous, and different, with amazing rock formations and colors. On top of that, the hikes are nice and short and you can get easily achieve them in a day. I always pack a picnic basket with me to enjoy after a few hikes. Many picnic areas within the park. If you are lucky you will run into mountain goats. The visitors are fun to explore. They do have a water station you can refill your bottle. If you are not a fan of hiking then do the scenic drive. Also, the night skies here are awesome, especially on the full moon evening. You can get an annual state pass for $80 or else $10 for a day pass.

If you are in Vegas the first place to visit apart from the strip is the valley of fire. Carry amount to pay at the entry as cards are not accepted. I had trouble because of that. I had a lot of fun at this place . We went as a group of 15 members . The view was to good of the elephants . We stopped every place for great pictures and looking around . Be careful if there is any flooding waring. We had experienced heavy rain while heading back to Vegas. It even gets dangerous with heavy wind during the night. Try to come back before night incase of heavy rains as there are no signals over there.

This place is out of this world! Quite literally felt like we were on Mars. The rock formations, textures and colors are so unique. We only had time to do the White Domes loop and Mouse tank. White Domes was so much fun! On the All Trails app it is rated as easy difficulty but I disagree with this. It should definitely be rated as moderate difficulty because of the uneven and strange terrain. But still do-able for most hikers/walkers. Next, we wanted to go to Fire Wave but unfortunately it has been closed all summer and said it would not re-open until after labor day. So we opted for the Mouse tank trail and honestly did not see any petroglyphs and it was pretty boring. You can skip this one. I definitely want to come back and go to the other trails I missed. P.S. Arrive early! We got there at 8 AM and left at 11 AM. After this it gets uncomfortably hot. Enjoy!

What a stunning park. I’m from the east coast, and have never seen geography quite like this. The reddish and rugged terrain was absolutely breathtaking. If you’re traveling here in the summer, I highly recommend lots of water and sunscreen. The heat gets intense out here and can be dangerous. Roads throughout the park were great and my rental car made it through without any damage. Highly recommend any visit this park if you’re in Nevada!

Forget Grand Canyon and Antelope Canyon, this place is a hidden gem. We were not so sure about this place but when we got there, it was truly jaw dropping. It was beyond any of our imaginations. The entry fee per car was merely $15 and it is closed in the summer due to extreme heat. Plan to spend at least half a day as there are many beautiful places to see. The scenic drive was beautiful. We saw bighorn sheep right besides our footsteps. If you are in LV area, make sure to visit this place. It is more beautiful than the hyped destinations around. Tips: make sure to have a good gas on your car. And bring water and snacks. There is only one park store that opens around 9am only. Highly recommended!!!!!

This is a truly amazing park, with stunning hikes and lots of opportunities to get grate photos. Its about an hour from Vegas. When I was here the park didn’t seem to busy but recommend avoiding the heart and busy time by getting there early in the morning and bring plenty of water with you at any time. I was here in the fall when the weather was just comfortable for a day trip of hiking. . If you don’t have a lot of time to hike it is also a very scenic drive. Every where you look there is awesome rock formations and colors My favorites were fire wave canyon and Rainbow Vista

This a hidden gem - a must visit, especially if you are traveling from Vegas to Zion - a short detour that’s worth every bit. Spectacular views and short easy hikes. If you are visiting during summer be mindful of the weather and carry loads of water or fill up at the visitor center. Entrance is 15$ (2022) for private vehicle. Spend up to 3-4hrs to see most points

I love this place as I feel it is magical and rejuvenates the spirit and soul. It is about an hour and forty five minute drive from Las Vegas and is a great 6-8 hour day trip from the city. I love to take visitors there as a surprise and they love it. As you near the park, cross grey brown desert, then suddenly drop into this red valley of incredible geological formation. I recommend you go in the earlier part of morning or later evening to get the best sun glow contrast on the valley rather than the bright of mid day. There are several hiking trails and a gorgeous educational visitor center. This is a great go to for children, families, and adults alike! A must see. A magical journey. Helpful Travel Safety Tips: Cell phone service is often spotty or nonexistent. When preparing for travel through desert terrain and roads I suggest you take the following: a topography map of the state, 1 gallon of water for each occupant, nuts/dried fruit, sunglasses, large brimmed hat, sunscreen, long sleeve shirt, long pants, close toed sneakers/hiking footwear, a roll of toilet paper with a good garbage bag (always pack out your trash), flashlight with fresh batteries, and a blanket. Also, I recommend that you get gas regularly, keeping above 3/4 of a tank as there are areas without gas for many miles between service stations.

It's Gorgeous. We went at the right time. Visited the Fire of Valley right around Sunset and it was beautiful. My pictures or words does not do justice. Just Praying that they do not mess up this area like GrandbCanyon with building hotels and unnecessary buildings around or Even less that than 5 miles out of it.

Beautiful natural area. Be sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen! All the normal precautions regarding hiking in the desert apply. Park gets busy at times so plan accordingly. Lots of nice hikes to choose from, "The Wave" is a popular favorite. I especially enjoy The White Domes Trail that goes through a slot canyon.

Valley of Fire State Park is a gem in Nevada, and it quickly became one of my favourite parks. The vibrant red rock formations and stunning landscapes are simply mesmerizing. The Fire Wave really stands out with its awe inspiring beauty. The curved layers of sandstone create a mesmerizing pattern that is a photographer's dream. Exploring the park is a treat for nature enthusiasts, hikers, and those seeking solitude in a remarkable desert setting. Valley of Fire State Park truly captures the essence of Nevada's natural wonders.

We stopped here on our drive from Zion to Las Vegas and were so happy we did! A lot of beautiful views can be seen just driving through the park but there are many nice stops/hikes as well. A few trails were closed due to summer heat but many were still open and we really enjoyed the one we chose (Rainbow Vista). It isn’t a very large park so you can see a lot in a short period of time, but could easily spend the day as well. Would definitely go back and recommend visiting if you are passing through.

A must see in the Vegas area. So beautiful and astonishing. Colorful and awesome. It's a state park, you can't use your annual pass here. It's an extra fee but absolutely worth it. We have been here several times and would always return. It's an about 1 1/2 hours drive from Vegas, we always do it on our way to other parks. If you want to see all and hike, at least plan half a day, but you can also just take the scenic drive in and out.

If you’re in Vegas, and you’re looking for something fun to do off the strip, definitely book a tour with Love Hikes on Trip Advisor. It was challenging but super cool. Moderate hiking with a little climbing to get the blood pumping. Definitely recommend wearing PROPER hiking shoes, as the sandstone can be a bit slippery We were picked up at our resort promptly at 6:15am, the tour guide Dustin was funny, informative and highly skilled spelunker. We returned around 11:30am and we were provided with water, Gatorade and snacks before and after the hike. We had an excellent time.

Absolutely magnificent views, great hikes, and rock formations of colors you cannot imagine. The hikes are half rock, half dirt, half sand. One of the most unique experiences I had in the southwest. It is kid friendly but I would keep them on a short leash. The drive through it is as beautiful as the hikes, so savor every moment.

This place is absolutely amazing. The shapes and colors of the rocks are beautiful! When it gets hot the name really suits it well, it does feel like your whole body is on fire. If you come around be mindful to bring plenty of water and snacks, comfortable cloths, and avoid being too exposed at peak hours of the day when it's the hottest.

We went in the middle of August so it was definitely a little hotter than I would've liked. If you go, I highly recommend you go during a cooler time that way you won't be too hot to do any of the trails. A lot of the trails were also closed for us, due to the heat. But other than that, it was a beautiful park to see and take pictures of!

I've been to Red Rock, too, but this was another level. The majority of the park just feels entirely otherworldly. Easy to navigate, and so many gorgeous places to explore and hike. Only $10 for admission too? I definitely want to go back to spend a whole day there. It really is that good!

  • 5/5 Anand S. 4 months ago on Google
By far one of the best state parks I've been to. The drive is easy. If you're seniors, you can visit this place and not have to hike too much. Everything is right there. For me. I'm going to come back and go on a hike. There are amazing opportunities for photography. It is very well kept. Though, there are some idiots who vandalized some stuff. The visitor center is awesome. Definitely check out the fire wave.

What a gorgeous, gorgeous place! I am so glad that I chose to come here with my 3 kids after driving over 4 hrs each way to Southern California and back a day prior. It was a gem and I will definitely go back to see the magnificent canyons that Valley of Fire has to offer. This place is a must see and it’s only a short 1 hour drive out from Las Vegas.

  • 5/5 Daisy H. 4 months ago on Google
Underrated place, I like it more than red rock canyon. We completed White Dome Loop in one hour, it was beautiful. Hard in the beginning but easy afterwards. Next time we will try out Fire Wave loop. I just wish they take National park card.

  • 5/5 Noel G. 4 months ago on Google
Beautiful place to visit with a few really good hikes. Make sure you take the hike at White Domes. It is a reality short (1.25 miles) loop trail. Make sure to get there early on the weekends to avoid the long lines at the visitor center.

  • 4/5 Dannielle R. 6 months ago on Google
Majestic and beautiful and harsh. Wow. Recommend to buy ticket online the day of for easy entry. It's ONE pass per CAR, not per person. It's a lot more driving than realized, which is nice. Hiking is an option but the bulk can be seen on the senic drive. Visitors Center is showing its age, but has some decent stickers.

Beautiful views to see by car…. or park and walk around. Bring water and a snack if you plan to stay for a while. Please don’t litter and ruin nature’s pristine gift of this wonderful place.

Gotta love this park! Amazing scenic drive around all of the park, lots of picnic areas where you can have a stop. Many restrooms located inside the park. If you’re lucky enough you could easily see wildlife walking just next to you!

This place is a Paradise, beautiful, enchanting, filled with history and lends itself to creativity when one starts to look at the formations and wonder how they happened, if they were by chance or by design. I felt complete peace while looking at every cave, every rock and every mountain

Definitely one of the most beautiful and colorful state parks we have ever been to. It truly feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, everywhere you look is extremely picturesque. We rode through the park in a Vanderhall and it made the experience so much more incredible, having an open view to everything this park has to offer. If visiting Vegas and you want to see some natural beauty, this is the place to see.

  • 5/5 Shaumajyoti K. 8 months ago on Google
We had just drove through the scenic byway as it was almost 110 degrees outside but the views are stunning. As it is just 10 miles drive, it took us less than two hours to complete it. The sunset was amazing. Will definitely be back when it is not that hot and explosive a bit more.

  • 5/5 Rosemary R. 10 months ago on Google
We decided to pass by on our return trip to Vegas and I am so glad we did because it is a beautiful park. The entrance fee to the park was $15 per car. We only did a couple of the trails because it was a very sunny and hot day, but I highly recommend the trail named: The White Domes Trail because it is easy and you will be passing through a small slot canyon. Visiting the park in the morning is the best option to avoid the heat.

Do not miss this if you are in Vegas Must visit and keep aside a full day or minimum 4 hours This is natural beauty. You will see awesome structures for rocks Lot of trails It is Heaven, if you like photography. Visitors center 9-4 (Washrooms are not clean) Do not follow google map :) to reach this park one you touch highway just follow road signs ( google map takes you to further than actual exit) Park has Entry fees per car

Interesting place to visit with a definite one of a kind beauty. I must admit something. My review of this place will not give Valley of the Fire much justice because we had just left Zion National Park hours earlier. What I mean is Valley of the Fire has a different kind of beauty and atmosphere than say a Zion. We were riding a motorcycle and the temps were a nice maybe 90°f. I suggest if you’re gonna visit either going when the temps are manageable for your personal preference. Also we did not get off the motorcycle and venture out like we wanted to because we had to be back in Vegas at a certain time. All and all the road through had great views of the natural beauty. There is a gift shop along the way. Also there are several trails leading to other places within the park itself. I believe it cost us $10 to enter with our motorcycle and trailer. As we didn’t get off the motorcycle and explore I would say it was a pricey toll to pay to just view it from the motorcycle. Especially for us who try and do things on a somewhat strict budget. Next time we will venture off the bike to make it more worthwhile. I’ve included some photos of the motorcycle ride and stops.

Exceeded my expectations for a state park. A couple of very nice hikes with beautiful views, a good visitor center with professional and friendly staff (yes, a junior ranger program is available :) ), well marked parking lots, landmarks, and trails. Definitely worth a visit if you are visiting Las Vegas and need a change. Just a 50 minute drive. Easy orientation, west-east is the main road with the Visitor Center in the middle and a road to the north. S great experience.

  • 5/5 Adam C. 1 year ago on Google
The interesting thing about this place it is a state park and not a national park. Valley of Fire is an amazing place to visit and has hits of Moab and Arches National Park. There is plenty to see and explore here and you could easily spend a few days if you wanted to hike all the major trails in the park. The main attractions are easy to get to and off the main road that runs through the park. Most of the sights to require a little hiking and those with limited mobility may find some areas harder to get to. If you are able to get to the park in the early AM or late day you can get some amazing photos as that is when the best lighting is.

Beautiful place to visit. Definitely must see if you visiting Nevada. Not crowded at all. Beautiful colors and rock formations and all of this for at a very low cost ! Entrance fee is per car. To fully enjoy this unique place - plan to stay whole day. During hot season go early in the morning to avoid the heat.

  • 5/5 Jennifer W. 2 years ago on Google
Absolutely gorgeous place. It was hotter than hades when we were there but so well worth it. Bring lots of water n food n spend the day here for only $15. Unreal in certain places of the park. Can feel the presence of those who were here before me. Saw a couple of big horned sheep. Don't let their stillness fool you... They are most certainly real. Staircase to Atlatl rock look very intimidating but very doable.
